maximum bandwidth of vmotion

What is the bandwidth maximum vmotion to move virtual machines?

Hey Nick,

With ESXi 5, you can go up to 10 GB per interface.

We add another server from VSphere 4 in a different building on our campus.  What are the requirements for minimum bandwidth between two VSphere servers to use VMotion between them?  Is a dedicated link 1Gig between them to transfer virtual methods on in a reasonable amount of time?  Would be 100 Meg transfer works for this?  Or if they are nearby with direct connections between them?

Scenario would be to have a few methods virtual redundancy or transfer over to interview one of the boxes of VSphere.  We would prefer to have housed in different places for different reasons, power outages, etc...

    Hello.

Discover the features listed in the http://pubs.vmware.com/vsp40/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm#href=admin/c_vmotion_networking_requirements.html - network here it states that Gb is necessary.  This does not mean that it might not work, but you will be setting yourself for maintenance problems.

    Good luck!

  • Maximum bandwidth RVS4000

I just installed Comcast Ultra and I am able to get above 40 MB download speed when I connect a PC directly to the cable modem.  When I used my netgear router speed fell to 10 MB, I'm looking at a new router.  The netger is limited to 10 MB due to the WAN port.  I bought a RVS 4000 and I can't seem to get more than 19 MB to download.  Anyone know what the maximum download speed is for the RVS4000?  It cannot be the Mb 1000 light enabled Internet WAN port.  I also tried a Dlink DGL-4500, and he was also able to sustanin more than 40 MB.  I thought the RVS4000 was supposed to be a high range of home router.

    -Mitch

It is a known problem with the RVS4000.  Most users reported a top speed "LAN WAN" of 15 to 18 Mbps.  Speed increases of 20% to 30% if you want disable the IPS feature.

This website claims that they can measure WAN routers LAN speed:

  • Decimation filter bandwidth

Does anyone have information as to what the BW decimation filter is given at a certain rate of IQ?

For my application, it is more important to vary/control the BW around the carrier.  It would be useful to know how 'work backwards' IQ rate since it is the variable that uses the driver.

I'll assume the BW of rate and filter IQ have a fixed relationship regardless of the decimation factor, such as the relationship to the high rate of IQ (low decimation) is the same low IQ (strong decimation)?  Is there a "rule" calculation which could make me this info?

For what it's worth, setting speed IQ doesn't seem to be a very useful setting. On the contrary, you are more likely to know the bandwidth you want to capture, and then let simply decimation would produce based on that.  Otherwise... If you're not careful (or don't know what you're doing) you might inadvertently filter/decimate and eventually a small piece of BW glancing you think... all this in the name of lower rates of data streaming of the USRP.

The A/D NI with DDCS already seems to do.  You specify it given P.C. and SDC configures the decimation based on the nearest whole factor of the A/D sampling rate.  There is a handy little table in sheets which shows for a BW given, is that the IQ data resulting rate.  I'm basically looking for something similar for the USRP.

    Thank you!

This could be a subtle understanding, I won RF by thet rate bu IQ equipment is ultimately limiting your maximum bandwidth. How much this bandwidth is usable depends on a device. (True for the acquisition and generation)

In an ideal world, your IQ rate "would be tantamount to your bandwidth" (acquisition).  This is the general rule.  If you take a FFT on a number of samples at a rate of 10 MSa/s, you will find yourself with a frequency which extends MHz - 5 to + 5 MHz. If your signal uses this entire range of 10 MHz is not implied, but you would not be able to fully acquire a signal with a bandwidth greater than 10 MHz for sure.

The USRP has specific IQ rates it supports, so I season always re-reading the IQ rate under duress.  If you need to change your filter specifications or need more flexibility just decimate and only filter process, think I woud suggest to implement a filter software - your choice opens considerably as well as being able to choose a butterworth on a chebyshev and specifying the order of the filter, etc..

I also suggest reading this article as well from the GNU Radio page, it has a little more depth and background.

  • black bands - the problem of bandwidth - Vision Builder HAVE

    Hello

I have a problem with an app where I anime shows Vision Builder 4 on 1 computer. Everything seems to go well until after some time (sometimes minutes, sometimes half an hour) I get horizontal black stripes on my images.

I searched this forum and found many posts on this problem. However, I tried the various solutions that have been proposed and this does not seem to make a difference.

    Information:

    * 4 camera (Allied Manta G201C)

    * camera is triggered (rising edge) separately, but almost simultaneously.

    * PC: quadcore, 64-bit, Windows 7 64 bit system

    * Run-time Vision Builder 2012 license.

    * Programmed with Vision Builder HAVE 2012.

    * Switch: 1000 MB

    * Interface programmed in c# (receives images of the relevant info 4 programs and displays on the screen).

    Proven methods:

    * Sets the size of the packets to 1500 (even tried low size of package without improvement).

    * Set desired maximum bandwidth to 250 no improvement (was initially set at 1000 - we put it to 250 because there are 4 camera - even the 150 configuration does not seem to improve the situation.)

    * cursed a lot - but which did not help either.

    * Can use us a switch that does not fit our goal?

    * Our switch is placed with several engines around it (the closest on a meter away) and just behind a cabin of electricity in which there are several transformers. That reach our data?

    * Other suggestions?

    * Please let me know if you need additional information about this problem.

We expect our customers to visit us the week next to see if we will be able to start production and we are currently under enormous time pressure (and stress). So, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    With sincere friendships.

Is there a way to limit the maximum bandwidth that windows can do to its updates?

    Hello

It cannot be done by the operating system . There is a 3rd party software that can help control the use of bandwidth, but I don't know if it can control traffic updates (http://www.netlimiter.com/betas.ph p).

Otherwise 'play' with the time of the update.

  • Limit the bandwidth in the tunnel VPN on Cisco ASA

    Hello

I have a site VPN tunnel to create with the local desktop client. I fear that the traffic in the tunnel in impacting the Internet bandwidth for the entire office. Is it possible to limit bandwidth on the speed VPN tunnel. I have attached a configuration that shows the configuration of the ASA at the local office.

Any help would be much appreciate. I watched QoS mapping but it's hard to make sense.

    Thank you very much

    Kind regards

    Michael.

The ASA supported QoS features are:
    Police, LLQ and Traffic Shaping

To avoid the individual flows hogging the bandwidth of the network, you can limit the maximum bandwidth used by flow (with the police)
The police is a way of ensuring that no traffic exceeds the rate (in bits per second) that you configure,
so make that person not traffic or the class can return to any of the resource.
When traffic is higher than the maximum rate, the ASA removes the excess traffic. Policy defines also the largest single burst of allowed traffic.

    Example of font options:
    class policing_map_name hostname(config-pmap) #.
    Police hostname(config-pmap-c) # {exit | entry} to compliance rates [conform burst]
[action in line [drop | send]] [action exceed [drop | send]]

    That is to say

    HostName (config) # class - police-class card
    HostName(config-CMAP) # match any
    HostName(config-CMAP) # QoS_policy policy-map
    class police_class hostname(config-pmap) #.
    HostName(config-pmap-c) # exit police 56000 10500

The configuration depends on the "this" base that you want to limit the connection.

  • Video of Jabber Cisco Telepresence band bandwidth provisioning

    Hello

We have deployed video jabber cisco for telepresence 4.5 with VCS 7.2 and TMS 13.2.2.  We use jabber to take interviews. The candidates will be sent the link to download the jabber with the required authentication settings. The Jabber is configured with the Public Max and minimum bandwidth of 768 Kbps.

My question is related to the downspeed of bandwidth. If we configure the bandwidth of 768 Kbps prvosining and internet bandwidth of candidates is less than 768 Kbps will be the Downspeed VCS to accroding appeal to the bandwidth of the network of candidates.

for example if my internet connection from home is just 512 Kbps and the use of the jabber to make a call to ex90 in my office. Bandwidth settings is preconfigured in the jabber as 768 Kbps. When the call is established will be VCS downspeed the call at 512 Kbps.

    Krishna.

You cannot configure a minimum bandwidth, which is always the maximum bandwidth jabbervideo will use.

The user can only set this value downward but not upward, but as the client detects a loss and stores a database

with information on used networks recently and its quality.

So, should not be a big problem the faster speeds available and allow the customer to do magic.

I woud recommend to (re) read the Jabber_Video_Administrator_Guide

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/Telepresence/endpoint/MOVI/admin_guide/Jabber_Video_Administrator_Guide_4-5.PDF

This gives you more information concerning automatic bandwidth adaptation and capabilies of bandwidth detection.

  • Storage vMotion

virtual machines from one storage to another does that 2 simultaneous connections. If I understand well ESXi5,.0 should support up to 8 with 10 GB. Will be setup here to twist?

    Thank you

The maximum Storage vMotion simultaneous operations by host is 2... You may think that the maximum number of vMotion (not Storage vMotion) which is really 8.

  • Safari/Mail does not

Safari acted weird on my IMac, the last two days. I keep getting messages on my regular sites (Bank, weather, etc.) that "there is a problem with this Web page then it has been reloaded. Basically, other Facebook, I can't access any websites. I guess I need to clean or Defrag, but I don't know what is the best way to do it. Starting today, I'm not able to receive mail.

    Any suggestions?

As a general rule, when you have problems to access Web sites and electronic mail, DNS is the main culprit. I can help you at least part network to see if we can exclude the reason your iMac is having issues.

To start, we will check your current networking with your iMac. I'll assume that it runs OS X El Capitan.

To get the status of the network:

    • Click the Apple logo in the OS X menu bar > select "about this Mac" > select 'system report... '. »
    • In the system information menu bar, select window > network utility > if not already selected, click the Info tab.
    • Under "Select a NIC for more information" select the method that your iMac is connected to the network. Very likely, it will be either Ethernet or Wi - Fi
    • Once the interface is enabled, network status information will be submitted under "Information Interface"
      • A point to note: link speed - it is the potential maximum bandwidth of the connection. This should be 1 Gbit/s for Ethernet for an iMac that came out since mid-2005. Before that, it would be 100 Mbps.
    • The other area of interest will be under the heading "Transfer statistics", specifically the "send error" and the values of "Recv Errors." These must be zero or very close to zero. Counties of high error indicates a problem with the network connection.

    OK, now on the DNS:

    • We will continue using the network utility SQL for this test.
    • Click on the tab 'Ping '.
    • Enter the URL of one of the problematic sites. Leave the option 'Send pings only 3' as is.
    • Click on Ping

For example, I just ran a Ping to www.apple.com and got the following results:

For a Ping successfully, all three packages should be sent and received without any packet loss. If you get one or all the lost packets, try the Ping again, but this time use the IP address of the site. You'll notice in my example above, the IP address for www.apple.com is 23.55.164.22

Yet once again, we are looking for similar results, all packets sent and received without errors.

    Please post back your results.

  • I have an e-mail returned by the demon with the reason given as "over quota" what does that mean?

I got an e-mail that is returned by the demon with the reason given as "over quota" that mean?

Well, most ISPS and web-based e-mail providers have rules in place: some have attachments maximum file sizes, most have maximum rates for the number of recipients/how many emails per day. I had one that had a maximum bandwidth and would not deliver an email until tomorrow if I ended this day.

So check the terms of your email provider.

It s a DDR2 memory module 266 MHz this way 533 Mhz don t worry, everything is ok!

PS; I searched on the net for this memory module and it seems that it supports 533 Mhz

  • WiFi Upload faster than loading

I have a MacPro with an airport card in a room about 20 feet away an airport extreme base station. I ran a speed test and got these results:

I thought it was the Airport card, so I had an Extender of the bear that produces the same results. So I bought an external extension and it boosted the signal to other devices in the same room but the MacPro. I feel that it may be a software problem. Is there some voodoo I can do other than to reinstall the software, which would be a real pain.

I suggest that you first determine if it is a problem of local Wi - Fi network or through the WAN - LAN of the router to the Internet interface.

To get an idea of the speed of transfer (aka, speed) of the data in your local network, you can use a utility like WiFiPerf. You can then compare these values vs the rate of data (bandwidth) of your Mac Pro connection link to your AirPort Extreme Base Station.

To get the values of bandwidth, you use OS X & AirPort Utility to the make:

    • On your Mac Pro, hold down the Option key and then, select the Wi - Fi icon in the OS X menu bar.
    • Note the value of the rate of Tx. (this is what your Mac Pro's the maximum bandwidth of the connection to the extreme).
    • Run the utility on your Mac Pro AirPort.
    • Click on the AirPort Extreme.
    • In the context menu, place the cursor of the mouse on your Mac Pro.
    • A second pop-up window will appear with the status of the connection to your Mac.
    • Note the value of data rate. (That's what the extreme think is the maximum bandwidth of the connection to the Mac Pro).
    • Note: These two values should be similar, but are not always the same.

Now that you have the values of the bandwidth and throughput, you have a basic idea of the performance of your wireless network. Note: Flow must always be less than the bandwidth. Rarely it would be the same, but it will never exceed the amount of available bandwidth.

If your network wireless works as expected locally, then the question can be router-Internet interface.

    Hello..

I have HP Pavilion g6-2080se Notebook PC... This works perfectly... I want to ask.

What is the maximum amount of memory I can install with my laptop... ?   8 GB or more... ?

    He currently 6 GB...

What type of memory... ?   SDRAM or what... ?

my maximum bandwidth of memory is 800 MHZ... I can install new memory with a bandwidth superior (1600) ?

    Hello

Maximum number is 8 GB as shown:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03292465

Yes, you MAY be able to install 1 upper stage, but the system will still work at 800 MHz.  You can watch the "SPD" tab to know the brand and model of RAM. Looks like you have 2 + 4, now check SPD tab to find out the information of 4 GB and buy same RAM of same brand, then you will be OK.

    Kind regards.
