Maybe the battery?

I just bought a rocket 8 GB, and I must say, I am very satisfied with what I got for the price.  However, there is a little insidious problem which concerned me.

You see, player has the battery life listed within 24 hours for audio.  However, when I play with the backlight turns off after 10 seconds and that occasionally back I have the volume or the titles, I can only get about 12 hours of the life, and is a generous value.  I even emptied the power completely and then recharged to recalibrate the battery, and that hardly makes the difference.  I know that manufacturers often embellish slightly autonomy estimated their player, but this seems abnormally low - especially for a flash drive.

The fact that I have the drive using a 16 GB SD card would be the culprit? Or if the songs that I use are mainly set to VBR 192 Kbps and the estimated life of the battery player was tested using 128 Kbps songs, if it makes a significant difference.  No video is played, so it's not a problem.  No indication on the issue would be greatly appreciated.  If this is, in fact, probably a bad battery, I aim to exchange for another rocket.

You may well have a bad battery, but first there are a few considerations.

You said you use big, around the ear headphones.  Generally, those are not very effective (thanks to their huge drivers) and take a lot of power to run well.  These phones put much more than load on the amp, using more power.  Not to mention you will likely increase the gain a little to compensate, which consumes more energy.  If you use the wholesale phones much w/o of an amp, it will certainly have an impact on the battery life.

You say that you let the screen turns off after 10 seconds.  It would certainly save battery life, unless he makes you forget to turn it off.  The "rocket" uses the battery even when stopped, and if you leave the mounted volume it can use almost as much power if there was in fact a song.  Remember to always turn off your rocket during its use not for awhile, which involves another key first to wake up the screen, then turn it off (known bug w / current fw, it should be fix soon for everything that you do is use the switch).  Also, when a break from the "rocket" (especially when connected to great phones) you can increase the volume all the way down, as will save batt. life.

I don't know how your usage patterns are different than most, or not at all.  Personally, I almost always use headphones at a low volume and turn off the player when I put it down for a while.  I sometimes use it at high volume through a stereo or adapter car FM, but usually only for short periods of time.  Try following the steps I mentioned and do not use the headphones for at least one full charge cycle and see if your battery life jumps up.  If this isn't the case, then you have a defective unit, but if so, you can simply use the player much more strongly than most of us.

In most cases, the update of the BIOS does not solve battery problems
Maybe the battery starts to malfunction because of age.

I would recommend replacing the battery first!

By the way; I guess the while the update of the BIOS error because of the software required missing; If you are using Win XP, then you must install page European driver of Toshiba common Modules. If you are using Windows 7 you must install VAP (value added package)

  • External display on HDMI overheating my Mac and drains the battery badly

    Hey guys.

I am using a MBP retina 2012 15 inches with an external monitor, a generic LCD 1080 p via HDMI without problems. And recently updated for Sierra.

The question starts immediately when I plug it into the screen. The Macbook seems to overheat and run fans above 4000 rpm, which is very audible and boring. CPU and GPU temperatures go above 70 degrees C (normally they make 50 +). The battery holds for only 1.5 hours, generally works well for 4-5 hours.
I tried killing all apps, followed a bad process in activity monitor, changing default resolution - nothing helps so far. The CPU is barely used by 10%, the memory pressure is fine.
It's just that time when I plug the screen - Mac starts bad feeling. Never, the problem occurred on El Capitan. Maybe it's a GPU problem, but certainly caused by the OS.
All the world had the same problem?

Try resetting the NVRAM (hold down the command-option-P-R on startup).

Also, try to restart in Mode without failure, then normally again.

Finally, try logging into your account, sign in to a user account (or the guest account) and connect the external display. Same problem? If it works fine for a new account then it's something in your own account which is the cause - perhaps an element of connection or some other system changes induced by the operating system previous and who does not play nice with Sierra.

  • How can I check the battery on 4S?

I have an old iPhone 4S.  Lately, it seems the need to run down like its drain more, but little or no running applications.  I have try to disable wifi not at home so that it tries to connect to those that I can't use.  But the battery I don't know maybe just petering.  How can I check to see how healthy is it?  I'm in iOS 9.3.5.  I'm not running the location Services for ex.  But ask how can I see how many times he's been charged, or there at - it a good free or paid software that will tell me his health?  Sounds to the purchase of new phone 5 or higher at some point, but cannot yet.

Try the 'Autonomy' application or make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple store. They will test the battery for you.

  • Want to extend the life of the battery in 5 days

    Hello

Maybe it's more than a request for a new feature for the Apple Watch.

I still need to use my fitbit when going hiking in the desert, because I can not connect my steps because of the battery of the watch.

What I want to do is to disable all the functions of the watch with the exception of the accelerometer to connect my steps.  I also remove the band and put it in a special wet belt clip case to protect it.  I hope that in this limited function, I could get 5 days of steps out of the appliance before the battery wore out.

Anyone know if this is possible?

    Thank you

    -Tom

    Hi Tom

    It is not currently possible.

  • Tecra S10-I can't boot from the battery alone

    Hello

I replaced my laptop battery and once I installed the battery pack with a compatible battery Toshiba-no, that my laptop won't start not from the battery alone (Tecra S10-114) after starting was performed by the power adapter (without fixing the battery), I installed it and the OS (WIN7 Professional) recognize and recharge the battery regularly.

I can unplug the AC and the laptop works fine until there is enough battery power. Battery plug is almost the same as the original (5100mAh - 1BRS PA3588U 10.8V) - 10.8V 5200mAh replacement battery Toshiba PA3588U-1BRS PA3356U, etc..

Can you help me understand why he has just this problem starting and the rest works well?
    You have a solution?

    Thank you

Maybe you should use a Toshiba original battery.
Get in touch with Toshiba ASP in your country that could send you an original and right part that is compatible with the laptop.

    Hi all

I have a M100 and the battery won't charge while it is running.

If the battery has more than 90% of the costs it wll the rest very well.
I have three batteries that all do the same thing on this computer. All three batteries are working fne on my other M series.

When the computer is off, it loads very well.

    Why is it so?

    Hello

I think that the problem of charging the battery is about the problem of portable equipment.
Maybe it's something s wrong with electronic power supply or another part on the motherboard.
I doubt that the problem could be solved by updating the BIOS but you should definitely check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS update and test again
If that does not help, then you should get in touch with a local service for verification of equipment technician

But note; If it s the question of the motherboard, the motherboard needs to be replaced and it would be a costly affair

  • Portege R100 - XP shows constantly the battery icon at 0%

    Hello!

I have a Portege R100 with just the standard battery. Having bought used, it has been reinstalled with Windows XP and all the drivers of the unit in question and public services. The BIOS has been improved to 1.60 and ACPI common Modules installed.

The problem is that XP shows constantly 0% battery icon, even if the power supply is on. As far as hardware is concerned, the battery charge and works very well for about 1.75 hours. As far as XP is concerned, there is no battery.

It's very weird and a bit frustrating! Can anyone maybe shed some light on this and, more specifically, if it is the battery or the charging circuit in the R100 itself? Obviously, one is a * much * more expensive than the other!

    Thanks in advance,

    Sophie.

    Hello

Have you installed or did you use the Toshiba power saver?
Usually if the Toshiba Power saver is installed on the Microsoft Windows option doesn t power unit control the battery or the power state.
Try to reinstall the Toshiba power saver.

  • L50 - B satellite will not start when the battery is completely discharged

    Hello

My Toshiba L50 - B won't start when the battery is fully drained but connected to the power outlet.
I try to work most of the time on the battery to keep the battery in good shape, but when I forgot to turn off the battery drains and the system will not start when I plug in the adapter.

The battery charge indicator is orange light as it should. Only when the battery is fully charged to 100%, it will run at startup and function normally after that. I tried to turn on the laptop several times during the charge cycle, but only when the charge indicator changes from yellow to white it starts. Tested for 2 bodies.

My old Toshiba always immediately turned on when I plugged the adapter even when the battery has been completely drained. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Thanks for responding... I hope well :-)

    Toshiba L50 - B
    Windows 8.1
Any standard/original setting since I only acquired this laptop a month ago.

The laptop should light up if the power adapter is plugged in and power the laptop corectly any if the battery is empty or during charge.

Please check the version of the BIOS that is available on your mobile phone and compare with the BIOS available on the page of the Toshiba UE driver
Maybe you need to update the BIOS, but to be honest, the history seems really odd to me and I m afraid that there could be some power supply electronic problem

So in the worst case, the laptop must be checked by authorized service provider.

  • Satellite L755 would not charge the battery

Hi all. I bought a new laptop today... it wouldn't charge the battery so I exchanged in-store. The replacement also has this problem. I'm doing something wrong or I was just unlucky?

The battery in the bottom right of the screen icon tells me that the battery is 0% charged, but he is in charge. The red light on the laptop before left turns as if to show that the battery is being charged also.

    Yet battery does not charge.

If I unplug the laptop from the network, the laptop turns off instanty.

It is today the second laptop brand new with the same problem. Maybe a part of a lot of battery defective or is - a problem that can be corrected with the software? I don't want to take the laptop to the store for a second time in the day.

    Hello

If the laptop stops immediately after that the AC adapter is not unplugged, it means that the battery is empty and not loaded.
Are you sure you plugged the battery correctly into the battery bay?
Please check if the battery is well suited.

In addition, I recommend to remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Then press the power button / stop along 30 seconds and reconnect the two parts.
Then leave the laptop connected to the network for a longer period of time (2-3 hours).
Then check the battery charge level

If he would always stay at 0% then I recommend you visit the dealer and check the other unit or the battery.

  • Satellite T230-12 q - cannot load the battery

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite T230-12 q and have noticed that when the machine is on and running on the battery, and if I plug the power cord into the power adapter, the AC light on the laptop comes on but the charging light doesn't.

If I put into hibernation or shutdown, the charge indicator lights up and the battery. Back-light the machine will continue to charge the battery, but if I remove the power cord and plug it back, it will stop to load again until I shutdown/Hibernate implementation.

I think that my unit is maybe defective, can someone confirm? The bios was originally 1.00 then updated to 1.30, but the symptoms remain.

In my opinion, everything goes well with your knees. Click on the power icon in the taskbar to see if it's loaded:

  • Satellite on L9W Mini - B - couldn't pass it until the battery is completely discharged

    Hello

I have the following problem with my Satellite click Mini L9W - B - happened already twice.

I suspect that this may be connected to a Windows 8.1 setting. It may also be that it is BIOS associates.

PROBLEM: if I leave the phone in standby mode (by simply close the lid), then if I do not use it for a while (> 10 hours) and then after that I could not turn on laptop - it simply does not meet all the keys including the power on button. It does not matter that I connect the power or unplug it, I still can't turn on the laptop, as it doesn't matter I have try with or without connected keyboard. BUT: the battery on the back on the screen is hot, so of course the laptop is not off completely and something (i.e. windows sleep mode or bios or something else) keeps me to turn it on.

The solution I have at the moment is to leave the laptop for a very long period offline (to drain the battery completely - it will be not hot not more!) and then connect the power and then it will be able to turn it on. Otherwise, open the cover of the screen and manually disconnect the battery and connecting it then still also work. After that, the laptop can be marketed and works very well.

Of course, it is not very good because to wait very long (several days!) or to open the lid isn't really a good option when you need the laptop!

    Can you help me?

Maybe it's something to do with some Windows power saving features?

    Thank you very much!

There is a quick fix rather than wait for the battery drain...

Hold down the power button / stop for about 20-30 seconds. That the material should turn off power completely allowing you to turn it back on.

Updated the bios with the latest version and apply all windows updates after that, it can solve the problem of sleep bug
