MB series slave Demon & dialog

Hello

I don't have an answer on the french forum. I try here.

I have a problem with the 'MB series slave Demon vi"(NI MODBUS). In fact, when I open a dialog box (file or message) in a parallel to "MB series slave Demon.vi" loop, the "communication MB series slave Demon.vi" stop with the master (reading / writing of registers). "." The problem is that the method of ExecVI (sorry I have the french version) in ' MB series call wait on Query.vi ' (see image below) does not give the hand until the dialog box is displayed. Why? :

Model 'MB series example Slave.vi' modified attached, I added to the event structure an Add button to see the problem. This example can be tested with 'MB series example Master.vi'.

Any idea?

Thank you

I don't understand why the method does not have the hand. But to solve the problem, I replaced ' MB series call wait on Query.vi ' by 'MB series wait on Query.vi.

  • "MB Ethernet Slave Demon.vi" connection lost when opening a windows dialog box in my application

    Hello everyone,

I am currently working on a LabVIEW application that communicates with a PLC using a Modbus Protocol (with an ethernet cable). The PLC is the master and the PC is the slave.

The code is based on the Modbus of LabVIEW examples: "MB Ethernet example Master.vi, MB Ethernet example Slave.vi and MB Ethernet slave Demon.vi. It is not the first time I use it.

But I recently discovered a problem. In my application, I have a pop-up with a button that opens a windows dialog box to select a result file.

When the windows dialog box opens, the "MB Ethernet Slave Demon.vi" crashes (I put a meter inside to see what happened and it stops at the moment opens the dialog box), then when I close the dialog box, the counter continues to count, the connection ID is empty, and the number of the demon slave VI connection resets to 0. When communication is re-established between the PC and PLC (like 10 seconds after the closure of the dialog box), the number of connection go to 1 and table of login ID is no longer empty.

Otherwise, the communication works very well. But not when the dialog box opens and is a significant problem for me because the user must be able to open results file during production that needs the Modbus communication at work because it's the controller who gives orders the computer to run the production cycle.

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you think that the problem is inside the library NI Modbus (old), why don't you use the most recent which is available on the network of tools? Link is here: https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-30140

Looking into some of the screws in the library, she uses methods of Server VI as "Run a VI" that will perform the loop of the root, as it crashes while the file dialog is open. I suspect that the new version of the library is not the problem.

  • Error executing ethernet modbus slave demon in an executable

I wrote an application that integrates a modbus ethernet slave - similar to that included in the examples of LabView (2013). If I run this as a VI, then there is no problem. However, if I create an executable file then I get an error message on the version of demon slave being too old to convert it into 2013 version 8.6. I use NI Modbus Library 1.2.1 and the 86 folder.

To isolate the problem of modbus to my initial request, I took the slave example LabView MB Ethernet (2013) and launched a project which includes the demon slave vi and the vi.lib modbus 8.6. I changed the path to the slave demon in the example of the slave so that it points to the location of the slave vi demon in my project. If I build the application and run it I get a slightly different error - "the demon slave vi is not executable.

I don't understand why the demon of the slave will not run an exe program but will be in a VI.

This error does not much sense.  LV 2013 can certainly open and run LV8.6 files.

You said that the executable file it who gives you this error.  When you run this executable?  It is on the same PC, you have developed and created the .exe on?  Or another PC?

I wonder if you run it on another PC, you do not have the runtime engine proper installed.

In addition, once you moved the VI Modbus to your most recent LV2013 environment, you've been through and mass compiled this library?

  • About 40 second delay communication Modbus

    Hello!

I have a small problem using the following modbus library for LabView8.6:

    Modbus Library

After that I started the slave demon it takes about 30 to 50 seconds for the first values (sent via TCP/IP) to arrive. I have a chart that plots all 18 read values to me and it always takes a long time to see them jump fom 0 to another value. Subsequently, there is a delay of about 30 seconds about how current values are.

I can't post the VI here because it uses a lot of SubVIs that would not make lack anyway. However, I already checked the Modbus Salve example VI and I the same time as in my own program.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks in advance and amicably.

    Kamil

Problem solved. It was the device (a data recorder) who was so slow in sending data while she was acting as master. I've now changed to be a slave and read its operating records. In this way the values come "immediately".

  • Extract VI bug

I tried to use the new LabVIEW 2009 VI snippet tool and got a serious problem of semi and a serious bug.

I tried to get it right of the code snippet.

First problem was that the VI must be save before "Capture".

Second is that, when I tried to enter the framework of the event, I had a series of the dialog box indicating that I could report it to OR tech staff.

Third is that all VI was captured.

In the attachment (temp.zip) is the XControl who created this (LabVIEW 2009), I reproduced even after a reboot of the LV.

I only tried to grasp the structure of the event inside the façade VI.

    Tone

PS I'm serious not only for the tool extracted Diss

    Hello tone,

Thank you very much for your message. I created a new XControl and was able to reproduce. Looks like it has something to do with the events that are used in the structure of events (such as the change of direction). I will file this problem.

  • Series HP Photosmart Prem C310: Scan option not available in the scanners on Mac and Printers dialog box

I had a problem with my connection Wireless to my printer. I deleted my printer to my preferences system (Printers & Scanners dialog box) by mistake. I was able to add the printer to my Printers & Scanners using the IP address of the printer dialog. The work of connection to printer and I am able to print. However, I lost the option of detection (the Open Scan option does not appear in the Printers & Scanners dialog box). I installed a driver from Apple and I also installed a driver of HP. The driver available for my printer model appears to be a patch only.

Here is a screenshot of my Printers & Scanners dialog. Before I deleted my printer, she had a scanning tab.

I tried to find a full version of the HP software for the printer but fails.

    Hello

By consulting the user guide once more tried to locate all the other parameters that may apply, I could personally find not 1 but of course there might be there... as any router have different options and many...

Have you checked with your ISP that you have the latest firmware for your router? any update of the firmware can help a lot with this kind of questions.

It is the only router, right? It has no additional effect as a range extender. etc?

You get power from the strong wifi signal for your printer and computer?

Please let me know the results with the USB for the moment, the software is there as we have strengthened it even installed earlier...

Please keep me with any change, I'll try to think of other measures to try while waiting...

    See you soon,.

  • Problem of print dialog box. Cannot change the selection of the printer. Box is stuck on Canon Fax series printer in the dialog for some programs, but not all programs.

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

    Ideas:

    • Adobe Reader; Mozilla Firefox will print for the Canon Fax (not my default printer) series.  I am trying to print on a printer HP 7300, which is my default printer.
    • I can print to the printer HP 7300 of Microsoft Word and Internet Explorer
    • I have very limited ability to print from Microsoft Outlook, but the number of copies is out of control
    • There is no error message
    • Problem started after a power surge
    • I did a restore of the system for the period before the problem started, but it has not set a problem.  I also ran the Windows Print diagnostic program but found no problem.  I ran McAfee virus scan and found no problem.

    Hello

Your printer is connected to a network?

I would like you to follow the steps mentioned below.

    Step 1:

Restart the print spooler service, set the default printer.

    a. Click Start, type "Services.msc" in the search box
    b. in Services, right-click on print spooler and then click Properties.
    c. click the Dependencies tab. The first box list all system services that must work for the print spooler start.
    d. take note of each service, click OK, and then restart each print spooler service based.

    Step 2:

Update your HP driver 7300 series printer and check if it helps.

  • Demon NTP using a lot of cycles CPU

My MacBook Pro (early 2011) running OS 10.11.4 fonctionnee hot and slow recently.  I turned on Activity Monitor and ntpd (the demon of time network) is constantly to consume 12 to 15% of cycles CPU.  I found an article on the stack Exchange, who said that if you see activity like this on your NTP daemon, it could be a sign that someone used a DRDoS attack.  They suggested defining the demon NTP to refuse incoming network connections - which I do not know how to do.  (I'm on Mac OS firewall).

I took a sample of activities ntpd.  It's a little hyperactive beast.  The ratio is about 2 ½ pages long during only a short excerpt.  I can paste the report into this thread if it helps.

But my real question is: is it normal that ntpd to be so active?  If this sounds abnormal, how can I get the little beast under control?

In case it will help, here is the report of the sample of activity that the activity monitor took of ntpd.  Of course, it seems that he is busy, if all this has to do is sync with a network time service.

  • View of the AppleScript dialog box not turn

    Hello

I have the following Applescript, defined as the first step of a folder automator action.  When the two files in the folder, a display dialog box is supposed to pop up.  It works, but for some reason that the dialog box is not selected, so I have to click on it first, before I can enter data.  It's tedious because I use a scanner barcoder and want him to be able to enter information in the dialog box without clicking each time.  Any ideas as to what is wrong?

    Thank you!

value of ' Macintosh HD:Users:christian:Pictures:Photo Booth library: photos:

    Tell application "Finder".

Define filenumber as of (files in the folder appear)

If filenumber is equal to 2, then

display the default dialog response «Serial number "«»

SerialNumber Set text returned of the result

    Returns the number of series

    tell me to stop smoking

    end if

When I run your AppleScript under workflow action unique in a file Automator action, the dialog box will prompt you for a serial number, and as text entry already has the focus, all I have to do is type the serial number, then press return. Tested: OS X El Capitan 10.11.2.

  • HP Officejet 6700 Premium: Don't scan and the scan dialog box will not open

Since I upgraded my computer to Windows 10, I'm unable to use my scan on my HP Officejet 6700 Premium function.  I can't even open the scan dialog box to look at the options etc.  I tried to find 'Scanner and printer' in painting, but it does not recognize.  Any suggestions?  I already deleted the printer and re-installed.  It was working fine before on Windows 8.

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP forum.

You can download and install the software COMPLETE features of HP printing for your operating system:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-OfficeJet-6700-premium-e-all-in-one-printer-series-H711/4322971/model/4323605#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930S6

Once you have downloaded and installed the software, FULL of features, you will be able to print and scan.

    Hope that helps.

  • Why as I get dialog boxes to enter my icloud Keychain password?

When I restart or unsleep my Mac, I have a series of dialog boxes asking my icloud Keychain password. I agree that none of the applicants programs are. For example, now requires "accountsd" - what is that? I can't cancel either out of it.

NB: I'm not a big cloud user, but I think that I logged in recently in it without the intention to use it for much. But I think that it is has triggered a chain reaction that I can't stop.

Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select the library. Place the following in the trash, then restart.

Close all running applications. Put the following in the Trash:

    (1) in the folder ~/Library /, put the Caches folder to the trash.

    (2) in the ~/Library/Application Support / folder, put iCloud folder to the trash.

    (3) in the ~/Library/Preferences folder /, put the MobileMeAccounts.plist file in the trash.

  • LabVIEW FPGA SPI accident - SPI OR IP address for example - R series OR

    Hello

I am trying to run the series R - sample project NI SPI FPGA Simulation.lvproj that comes with the SPI IP OR on a real FlexRIO FPGA SMU-7976R target with an attached digital adaptation NI 6581 B Module. The example is for a PCIe-7841R but I wore during my target FPGA, follow these steps and made additional changes to try to make it work with my set-up. I learned that FlexRIO FAMs CLIPs do not work with nodes in office had so I know I can't simulate the project originally planned so I will try to use FPGA to e/s node host side (open FPGA vi reference) to implement the actual hardware.

My first question concerns my configuration of the adapter module e/s and selection. I added the IO Module (NI 6581 B: NI 6581 B channel) for my project and selected the channels as shown in the table below. I have a real physical hardware connection as described below using two NI SHC68-C68-D4 cables and a break-out Board.

I changed the names as well:

I selected these DIO channels because I wanted the DDCA connector to be the master and the DDCB connector to be the slave. In addition, in this CLIP every eight channels of i/o has a write enable signal. I have not used the Port configuration because I needed 4 available DIO channels and I saw DIO0-3. Is my logic of selection of channel vs correct Port here?

Following the same strategy that examples FlexRIO/NI6581B, I changed the FPGA.vi to include initialization outside of timed loops:

And in the Host.vi I have a node reference FPGA and wired loops of feedback accordingly:

When I compile the FPGA and try to run Host.vi LabVIEW inevitably crashes with Crash Reporter below and must restart:

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong here? My guess is that it has something to do with the CLIP/IOModule. Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Scott

    Hi Scott,.

I suspect that the problem might be related to the fact that your node open FPGA VI reference is in the while loop and trying to open a new FPGA reference at each iteration.
If you move outside of the while loop, it does not solve the crash?

On channel vs port question, your logic seems reasonable to me, but I recommend to try it since this feature could depend on device.

  • Synchronize the clocks on M-series via DDK

    Hello

We are in a new cycle of development and require the clocks on our maps of the series M (6259, 6225) to synchronize. I searched the docs of NOR and the Forums for more information, but am coming short on details to implement synchronization.

Firstly a bit of history... Two cards by computer. The captain 6259 samples 24 HAVE 2000 s/s using a rate of Conversion 49140 Hz and the slave 6225 12 samples HAVE 200 s/s with a Conversion rate of 2457 Hz.

My understanding of the synchronization process follows. On 6259 mask, the 10 MHz reference clock is exported via a RTSI line. The slave 6225 matter 10 MHz reference clock and activates its PLL. 6259 sampleclock HAVE is exported via a second line RTSI and divided by 10 to trigger sampling HAVE on the 6225.

How did the 10 MHz reference clock available in the DDK? How the PLL get activated in the master and slave? The AI SampleClock can be divided into bottom directly before the export or import on the slave? Or the division shall take place via one of the counters of GP? Are there examples of code?

    Thank you!

    Gord

Just a quick update on this issue.  We were able to help get the operational application.  The main issue was the PLL_Control registry was not written correctly.  Which should have been as follows:

    PLL_Control (454)<==>

    PLL_Multiplier is 8
    PLL_Divisor is 1

    PLL_Enable is 1
    PLL_VCO_Mode is 3

  • EtherCAT slaves

Hello. I don't know whether or not I've navigated to the correct location. What I want to know is, what is the index of protection of modules OR slave that interface with a master of EthernetCAT? I don't have an exact part number. I was told that there is NOTHING available that will be better than IP10 but I have not found anything to substantiate this claim. If someone would know, I would appreciate it, of course. Thank you.

I don't know if we have specific ratings, but if you put what modules or parts you are looking for to get ratings for I can certainly check on our end.

Looking for the IP address for the 9144 chassis or specific modules of the C series?  If you can tell me what modules/frame you are interested in, I can at least take a look.

  • How to read the multiple slave devices in a RTU modbus RS485 2-wire network without changing slave address manually?

    Hello

Currently, I can read data out of multiple using the attached VI DAQ devices by manually changing the address of the slave on the front panel that determines what slave to read the data. However, I want the VI to do it automatically for me instead of me manually by clicking on the buttons on the front panel to change the address of the slave. In other words, the VI should read data off devices 3 slaves and save them to a database of all the 1 second (sampling from 1 sec interval). I tried to use the structures of the case, timed sequences and delays, but I'm still not able to get what I wanted. My current VI is a modified version of a VI library modbus - 'MB series Master query read input registers'. No idea how to do this?

IM pretty new to LabVIEW, so don't kill me if im away here

Could replace the cluster 'Series settings' with the attached structure solve this problem?

The real deal will be just the value back to the default (1).
