Memory of dc7600 SFF

Hello. This is what I am trying to accomplish. Got a renovated DC7600 SFF, equipped with a Pentium D 945 processor. He got 4 sticks of 512 MB installed between 4 banks (all PC2-5300). I would use 2 sticks in another pc running the same memory and replace my empty banks with 2 sticks of 1 GB each (PC2-5300), in order to have a total of 3 GB. It should work ok, I think, but I wanted to doublecheck. Any suggestions? Should I put the 1 GB sticks in 1 and 3 banks, or banks of 2 and 4?

Hello:

It does not matter.

But most of the people would put the sticks of 1 GB but in banks 1 and 3.

And Yes, it should work perfectly.

  • DC 7600 SFF: Upgrading of power on my HP DC7600 SFF

Hi, I have a DC 7600 Small Form Factor desktop computer and it comes with a power supply of 240 watts. I want to put a x 16 PCI express graphics card and that is why I want to upgrade the PSU for probably a higher with about 400-450 watts. Can someone please guide me which would correspond to what kind of power supply in this case of machine as ATX, mATX, PS3, PS2, etc. SFX. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you guys!

    You are the very welcome.

I don't think that is correct.

The main power connector to the motherboard in a standard atx P/S has 24 pins and I believe that if you check the main power connector to the motherboard on your dc7600, it has only 20 pins.

I know that the card with 1 GB of only prints 29 w.  One with 2 GB of memory probably attracts a little more.

You must be well with the 1 GB and maybe very well with the 2 GB.

I like to use this calculator power supply useful for determining if a card that I want to install is a good choice for me without upgrading the P/S.

  • HP 7600 sff: update bios dc7600, ver 1.61

can anyone share a link that works for an update of the bios to version 1.61 to the dc7600 sff... Thank you...

    I don't understand.

You have the files I zipped to the top and attached below (as attachments), correct?

You have a formatted in FAT32 USB flash drive, correct?

I just opened the folder with the files it contains and opened the flash drive to an empty window.

Then I selected all files in the folder, right-click, "copy", then toss above the window open the flash drive and right click "Paste".

Then, they just copied on my FlashDrive with no problems.

If I had a dc7600 in front of me right now, I'd be ready to Flash the BIOS.

  • The dc7600 fan not slowed down speed

I'm new here but I have no news for the repair of computers, a problem which therefore left me speechless!

A customer brought me a Hp DC7600 SFF desktop computer and said that the thing is so loud it doen't want to use it.

    Card"Pentium 4 3.00 Ghz

    2 GB DDR2 533 memory

    320 GB HD

    Win 7

I lit and was swept away, this thing is so strong that you does not think!

I disconnected the chassis fan that he calmed down some but the CPU fan turns at 5400 RPM all the time, I can't get the fans to slow down! I tried to use the program Speedfan, it was a joke.

I am at a loss for what to do and wondering if something on the Board that controls the speed of the fan go haywire. I also upgraded to the latest BIOS and that did nothing.

When the computer starts, it seems frankly a small liquidation aircraft prepares for take-off!

What to do, what to do? ANY suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thank you for your comments/ideas and suggestions. I would recommend he get a newer system because I think it's history! We have done everything that we can and it's time to throw in the towel! Thank you so much!

  • problems with ati radeon x 600 in dc7600

    Hi-
Newbie here... I just installed a X 600/256 MB card pcie ATI Radeon in the HP dc7600 SFF and getting white 4-5 screen when starting with Windows XP.

She also stopped twice in the past two weeks as the card has been installed. No problem with integrated graphics.

My question is: I have loaded which, in my view, are the correct drivers from this site and the AMD/ATI site. Could someone please tell me / link me to drivers. Some do not list even the X 600 just X 550 / X 1050. No use gamming or heavy on this machine. ¿¿Would I better too just stick with the integrated graphics card?

    Thank you

    Hello

I suggest to remove the card, reinstall the drivers for the integrated graphics card and using the onboard graphics for a week as a test.

If the white screen start and stops disappear then you have found the culprit.

If you do not need higher resolution graphics, you are definitely better with the embedded video solution. I suggest using the original drivers.

What dc7600 do you have? (CMT, SFF, or ultra-Slim form factor are the three versions)

  • video tearing watching the HD video

    Video problem

I have a hp compaq dc7600 SFF with intel GMA 950, pentium 4 HT dual core 3.0GHZ and 2 GB ram and I'm pretty sure that this GPU is capable of up to 720 p videos, but even on lower quality videos video flies over and half top video is always a little ahead of the bottom in modes full screen

first of all, I would reinstall the software driver and video film from the place of origin.  There may be a version update available with a fix.

Secondly, I would then adjust the system by a check disk and Defrag.

Thirdly, I temporarily disable all startups and services non-microsoft via a clean boot and also disconnect from the internet during playback of the video.

If all goes well, trying all the above him video playback will be stable.   If Yes, then you can begin to try to understand of the above did the trick on your system.

If this isn't the case, then you will probably get graphics performance improved via the pci of high-end graphics card.

  • My USB Ports suddenly stopped working

    Hello

I connect a second hard drive on my desktop (hp dc7600 sff) and everything was going well until I was prompted to press F1 to save changes to new material. I realized my mouse and my keyboard are not 'read' via connected USB ports. I tried to change the ports but still nothing, so in the end, I was unable to choose the F1 for the recording of the new HARD drive. I tried all the other ports, but still, nothing.

I am now faced with a dilemma, I can't go through the login screen because none of my input devices can be connected to the PC, as all modules are connected USB.

Help. I need to return to my beloved PC usage.

  • HP dc 7900 sff memory update

Hello, this week the team here helped me to update my BIOS for my Compaq HP DC 7900 SFF. I have four available memory slots, and the computer's specifications say that it can have a total of 16 GB of memory. I could not find the specifications of the type of memory should I use.

Can anyone here point me in the right direction for a memory upgrade?

    Thank you in advance,

    Peace,

    Mark

Thank you as always, I paid 90 million dollars for the dc 7900 with 4 GB of ram, burner light scribe, two core 8400 processor. 250 GB hard drive, only really bad thing is that each of the modules 4 memory are a different speed, and it comes up as unknown. I think that this computer can only run as fast as the module of memory of slowese. I'll probably get 4 GB memory and keep it for now, it works great and I like it better than my gateway 560 Gr. I am running windows 7 ultra 64-bit. and I'm happy. I think that if I change the memory, it will peform better year and the next update to the hp 8200. They go for about $300 used on e - bay, and hp/compaq has always been my brand.

I'm not surprised by the response of Kingston.  The issue of density memory was mentioned message #2.

Try a few other manufacturers of memory and see if you can get the own memory DIMMs.

I have a Compaq dc7600 CMT.  If I load more than 3 MB of memory in the 4 slots, it only recongnizes 3328.  The bios sees 4 but when memory test jumps after 3328.  In windows, it said 3.24 MB.  Any suggestions?

    Hello:

This is quite normal and can only be changed if you have installed a system of exploitation 32 or 64-bit.

System memory gets reserved mainly for sharing memory video and other uses.

Only desktop with the will of chipset 965 or newer Windows based on the Intel 'see and use' all 4 GB of memory with a 64-bit operating system installed.

    The dc7600 has a 945 chipset.

And you want to leave the modules 4 x 1 GB in there for the memory works in DDR mode for better performance.

Or install 1 GB - 512 MB - 1 GB - 512 MB if you do not see the 3/4 GB of memory disappear.
