Message "Install the program as an administrator"
Just a curious point. Sometimes, I get a message saying "this program must be run (or installed) as an administrator." As I am an administrator on my own computer (in fact the only one) why windows sometimes mean? It is not a vital request just a point of interest.
Right-click on the executable you want to run and choose 'Run as administrator'. When an application requests higher privileges or "Run as administrator" is clicked, UAC request confirmation and, if consent is given, start the process using the unrestricted token.

Hello
I keep getting error messages when I use the computer. It started two days after you download an update from Windows. A sample of the error is:
C:\windows\system32\difxapi32.dll is not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try to install the program by using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the provider of software for support.
I use a vista. I don't know how to solve this problem, many want to help.
Thank you.
Hi Colinthebrave:
Start with this little tool to help get rid of the error, once your system is stable again and then try to run your updates again.
Thank you for your message; Let us know how it goes.

o The System Restore tool
If the problem you are experiencing started occurring recently, you can use the System Restore tool. Using this tool, you can restore the computer to an earlier point in time. The tool using System Restore may not necessarily help you determine the problem. When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.
To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose another restore point and then click Next.
3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
4. click on finish.
The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

My computer is VERY slow in all the commands I give.
I also tried to run the sfc (System File Checker command) and acts like he is going to run the program, but then just closed.Do you have an idea what is happening with my computer and what I can do to fix this?
Thank you very much!
Hi deacon829,
You did changes to the computer before that happened?
Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists, to do this, follow the steps below,
Access the menu advanced startup options by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts. In the advanced startup options select safe mode
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode
Step 2: If you try to install any application before this program, try to uninstall them.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/uninstall-or-change-a-program
If this solves the problem, you can deduct that the demand is probably corrupted, damaged or incompatible. You can check with the manufacturer of the program for more information.
Step 3: System Restore: System Restore to put the computer's system files to an earlier point in time.
Look for steps to restore of the system in the link below:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore
If the problem persists,
Step 4: A scanner online for any threat and try to correct

Thank you, and in what concerns:

try to install the program, vista will not allow
I am the only user (and administrator) on my laptop with Windows Vista. I am trying to install a program, and the system tells me that my administrator has set rules to prevent me from installing the program. It is the first time that I saw this message and I have never changed the administrator settings and also installed many programs previously. What is the problem?

It comes to my computer at home, not on any network. More and more, I get this error message. There must be an easy fix. Hope someone can show me the way... Thank you... Marv
Hi MarvReinke
1. you are the administrator of the computer?
2 do you have standard user permissions to install programs? It seems that this administrator has blocked installation of programs on the computer. (UAC) user account controls have been set accordingly. If you are the computer administrator, you can try to connect as an administrator and see if you can install the programs correctly. You can also try to change UAC settings to solve the problem.
You can check the links below for more information-

I hope this helps.

Original title: what is savagent.exe.
I started having trouble opening all my programs... A 'Open with' box appears only the message "choose the program you want to use to open this file: file: * .exe ', and I only have two choices, either Microsoft Office OneNoteQuick Launcher or Wordpad... Since none of them are the program that I want, I click on the Cancel button, the popup disappears and the program does not open. Internet Explorer is the only exception it opens when I click on Cancel.
I am running Windows Vista on a Dell 1525. I did a general online search, but the concflicts information too for me make sure my best option.
Thanks for considering my question.
Correct me if I misread your message.

How do I know which user to install the program in the pc
I have a lot of user has permission to install program how do I know which user it
There are two metholds:
Check the application log in Event Viewer and look for the MsiInstaller in the source field. If you check the details of the event, you can see that this event belongs to which user. Or if you know the program installation folder, and there is, on this partition, NTFS file system, see the current owner of the installed program folder. (right click on the folder, select Properties, Security tab, click the special tab then owner) Who holds this record, he has created, so did the installation.
