Message "no coredump target has been set" after the installation of updates

* This can be removed. Level errors on my behalf.* *.

I ran Update Manager on 5 hosts this weekend. The first 4 are all Cisco UCS B200 M2 servers, and after joining each host in the cluster and exit the Maintenance Mode, I received the message header error "no coredump targets has been configured. Host core dumps can be saved. "The 5th host is a Cisco UCS B200 M3 and do not welcome me with the same message. I'm not very versed in PowerCLI, but after a search through the community, I tried just a command - simple

esxcli system coredump partition list

And then I'm greeted by a message "a positional parameter is not found that accepts arguments 'coredump'." I'm sure it's something simple I'm doing wrong but fighting it a little bit now and would like to just a little help. Thanks in advance.

We run ESXi 5.5, our blades are configured to boot from SAN.

Hello

ESXCLI controls are raced when you SSH into the host, not PowerCLI

Please check this KB:

VMware KB: Configuration of a partition of diagnosis coredump on a host ESXi 5.x

1. validate that something appears in this list - list of partition esxcli system coredump

2. set the partition coredump in:

"game partition coredump of the esxcli system - partition ="mpx.vmhba2:C0:T0:L0:7"

game score system esxcli - enable true coredump

You can also try to use:

esxcli system coredump partition set --enable true --smart

This will automatically set a partition.

I hope this helps.

  • PC has not successfully restarted after the installation of updates

    Hello

I have been updated with Windows Update and asked to restart my PC after the installation is complete, however, my computer froze just at that moment, so I had to press the power button to force it to close. So I don't a not properly restart but forced my PC to stop and I have not a screen saying "Configuring updates" as usual (because there is no restart appropriate but just a forced to close). When I turned on my PC back, I thought that all updates have been lost or screwed up because I don't restart the PC correctly, however, instead, windows said it was "Configuring updates" (from 0% to 30%) and 30%, he said he has been stop and then rebooted my machine and these updates have been 100% configured/installed.

So my question is, were all 100% installed as said windows updates or was it just a fake reviews? Because I forced my PC to stop rather than restart it when all updates to complete the installation.

In addition, argues that all updates have been installed successfully in the "Installed updates" menu, too. Please let me know if it of a false notice or not.

    Thank you

  • System restored automatically after the installation of updates & a few missing desktop icons.

Original title: same set of updates on both computers due to different problems, one problem being a system restore.

I have two Windows 7 computers in my house.  They all have two problems after installing updates a month ago.  The problem for 'Computer 1' is a bigger problem than the problem of the "Computer 2".  2 computer problem not really seems to be a problem now, but I'll give you the information for comparison purposes. Sorry for the length of this post - I am trying to be thorough.

    1 COMPUTER DETAILS:

News of the computer: Dell Studio 1745 laptop computer running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, six months at the time of the problem, now age of seven months. It came with Norton pre-installed, never used and uninstalled.  Trend Micro Internet Security installed at the beginning of the use of the computer.  Analyses Micro trend came clean.

Background: set up with a single account (Administrator, of course) and after a few days of putting in place computer, said ale user account for everyday use.  Computer is configured to warn me before downloading/installation of updates of Windows, with permission for each type of account to install Windows updates.

While in the standard account, I welcomed these download/install updates and was prompted to restart the computer.  I was done with the computer, so I just closed instead of restart.  According to "Your update history Review", it's updates and they were all successful:

    Update for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB980846)
Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile for Windows 7 x 64-based Systems (KB982670)
    Update for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB982519)
    Update Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 for x 64 systems (KB982526)
Cumulative update for Media Center for Windows 7 x 64-based Systems (KB981078)

After you turn on computer back, everything seemed normal.  I opened Firefox and I got a notice that Firefox has an update is available, a standard user cannot.  Unlike some programs, there is no popup to sign as an administrator, so I went to start > switch user and signed as an administrator.  (There was no update of Firefox at this point - just a switch single user.) That's where the problem appeared: instead of normally load the admin Office, I had to wait while Windows configured my desk (it's new)... wait... wait... wait... wait... BAM!  Your computer has been successfully restored * insert date here * (I don't remember what it was - January of this year, perhaps - because I was so incredulous that it happened and I continued to watch the game "successfully restored").  I do not have the computer to eat, and it don't has not asked me if I wanted to restore it.  He just did, just on its own initiative, when I went on the admin account.  A bunch of shortcut icons are missing from the Office of the admin acct and the ACCT. standard, and wallpaper to the admin account has been changed.  I am not absolutely sure if nothing else was touched.

I have searched online to try to understand why it happened, and I remember well from my only find, is that if I went to the restoration of the system, there will be an option to cancel it, but I don't see such an option. So I told the computer to eat on a few days to a week before that updates.  It doesn't seem to help.  Shortcut icons are still missing.  Looked at the update history and it shows the five latest updates as being installed successfully, but Windows Update tells me that I need to these five updates AND this time, the little check marks are only already there on four of the five updates listed.  (The first time, the little checkmarks were already there for all five.)  This is the update that is NOT now pre-checked:

Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile for Windows 7 x 64-based Systems (KB982670)

Do not reinstall the five updates.  I don't know if I should jump install them again, or if I should install only the
now, four are already "pre-checked."  I'm very hesitant to install KB982670, because this update seems to be the likely cause of the problem given the fact that it is already pré-coché in the Windows and the following information updates for computer 2.

Since I installed the latest updates for 1 computer with no apparent problems:

    X 64-July Windows malicious software removal tool (KB890830) 2010
Update security for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB2032276)

    NEWS ON COMPUTER 2:

The computer news: Systemax desktop running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, a month at the time of the problem, now age of two months.  It has not come with any pre-installed antivirus.  Trend Micro Internet Security installed at the beginning of the use of the computer.  Analyses Micro trend came clean.

Reminder: Set up immediately with an admin account and a standard account for everyday use.  Computer has been set to automatically download and install updates for Windows, but is about to inform me first.

At the time of the problem above with the laptop, desktop computer has been enabled.  As all loading,.
an error message came that there was some kind of issue with the .NET framework.  At another person asked if he knew what was up with that, and it didn't.  Did not note the specific message, thinking he would tell me again if there was a real problem.  I thought it could have been some kind of Windows hiccups when starting the computer, not even knowing about update problems.  I have yet to see this message.  After the number of laptop (computer 1), I took a peek at the desktop computer (computer 2) to check that Windows Update and I saw that an update is available, which is the referenced above same update that the notebook had already the check mark in its box (KB982670), which gives me the choice to check the little to install it.  Very curious, since, as already mentioned, the computer has been configured to automatically download and install Windows updates.  Looked at the update history, and it has already downloaded and installed the other four updates that the laptop has been.  Changed the automatic Windows Update setting to warn me before you download and install updates.  I have not installed the missing update.  Said the only other person in the House who would probably bother install updates to not install it.

A month later, 2 computer has a notification from Windows update that 21 or 22 updates are available (as a result, by clicking on the icon of the trial of Microsoft Office).  The update not installed a month ago is no longer on the list, and update history shows as having been installed a few days before, apparently because someone else in the House must have thought it looked like a good idea.  I installed all the 'important' updates and have not seen any more problems with computer 2.

    BACK TO THE COMPUTER 1:

Yes, is there anyone with ideas on how to get 1 computer back to its state before the 5 updates listed above, and what to do about to reinstall some or all of them, I hope, without more problems, for example a random food system does not happen?  I have a feeling I will say that the random system restoration do not occur, but he did.

    Thanks for any help.

No, I don't use the Norton removal tool.

    IN RE COMPUTER 1 ONLY:

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. click right on the file saved in #1 above, and then select run as administrator to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

  • Windows 7 does not start after the installation of updates - sounds familiar!

Apparently, I have another system that no longer starts after you install an update to Windows 7. New kick computer _ I have to disable the automatic update of windows. Twice I had to restore the system in the first week because he hung up after the installation of updates for windows 7. I have no idea what update is the cause of the problem.

Essentially, start the screen goes black with the cursor blinking in the upper left corner of the screen. The only way out is to restore the system.

Does anyone know what update is the culpret? HP support has no idea. Their only solution was to update windows 7 to 'never download an update from windows '. It is a terrible thing to be underestimated solution.

    Here's the resolution...

I installed all the updates except KB2284742 954430, 973688 and 971033. So I decided to install these 1 4 at a time in the order shown. I installed successfully 228472 and 954430 and 973688 disappeared from the list of available updates. So I installed 971033 and it installed successfully and I was still able to restart.

My conclusion is that there is a conflict between the first 3 updates when they are installed at the same time.

Now my system is up to date with all windows updates and I'm able to restart without any problems!

  • All the data disappeared after the installation of updates! Help!

Hoping someone can help with this
Last night I installed updates KB961371, 973346 KB and KB 890830 for Vista Home Premium and they seemed to have been settled... my computer turns off fine. But when I started today and connected to my usual user, I got a pop-up message from the tool bar by saying "your user profile was not loaded correctly, you have been logged on with a temporary profile, cnanges do you will be lost when you log out." Check the log of the events for more information or contact your administrator." I then found that all my data was away from all my files (music, photos, Documents, analyses)... everything was gone. I then logged out of my user every day and in my admin to have a snoop around and all the data disappeared from there too. While in admin I also looked in the update section to see if the updates have not been installed correctly, but he said that they had been installed successfully.

I then rebooted, as I thought that it might help, but everything remained the same.

After the reboot, I clicked through 'my computer' and hard the news here on the disc wrote I have 89 GB of 147 GB free, which I think is consistent with the amount of data I have stored. This made me think that the data is always there somewhere, but I can't access it at all thanks to my user every day or my administrator.

As far as I can see, all the programs that I installed myself (such as Skype, open office software for my printer hp) are all present, but some of the shortcuts are out of the office. Also, when opening, they "behave" as newly installed programs. for example: Open Office writer guide me through a license agreement and registration rather than simply open a new document, and also firefox behaved in a way similar "new". Also, on commissioning today (after the installation of update yesterday), the window "welcome center" popped up, as did a window asking to save the "synaptics pointing device.

In short, the system "behaves like new", remembers none of my settings etc, but it is still a my programs installed and most of all, I can't access any of my data! I have a Toshiba Equium P200-178 (use vista Home premium service pack 1 32-bit), I use AVG anti virus (8.5) and Ad-aware software anti spyware. These are updated every day and I run scans on a regular basis (last analysis aware ad probably about a week ago) so I'm not sure it's associated virus.

Ask yourself what is this "temporary profile" and how to return to my old and my data! Help, please! Thanks :)

Difficulty of a corrupted user profile

After creating the profile, you can copy the files from the existing profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you created.

    Good luck with it.

HI, I currently use windows 7 32-bit and have been almost half a year now, nothing was wrong with it until just recently when I installed updates for windows and it goes across restart process. Whenever it restarts after the installation of updates it now in windows could not start and is system launch of repairs etc, when it finishes I cliquerai on end to end and then he launched startup correctly, also, I realize account updates, I have install are successful, when I connect (from the option view update history) , but I get suggestions of exact same update again just after the installation of the updates mentioned only, hope, it is specific help enough, would be much appreciated

  • my laptop keeps restarting after the installation of updates

my laptop is stuck at step 3 of 3 (only display 0% complete) after the reboot for updates, then restart again and again, with the same supposed progress, I ve let it doesn't restart on 7 times.still no good.

Tell me what are the steps to solve this problem

    Hi Amrbialy,
When your computer is turned on, push and hold down F8, this will bring an option before it starts on your desktop. Choose "last known good configuration".
If this has no effect. Then do the same thing, except choose Safe Mode. When it boots to desktop click Start > all programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore.

Then it will give you an option to choose a date to return. Choose a date before you install updates, and then click OK. Restart your computer.

    It will be useful.
Let us know how it goes!

  • Problems with some sites to display after the installation of updates.

    Original title: Display problems

I have some display problems with certain websites.  The appearance has changed after the last windows update.  For example, in Facebook to backgammon, displays boxes outside and I can't see the full picture in the other boxes or scroll down to see it.  Any ideas?

    Hello

Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community to post your question!

According to the description above, it seems that after installing the updates, you are facing some display problems with certain websites. I'll be happy to help you.

I would be grateful if you could answer the following questions:

    1. What is the number of KB of the installed update recently?

    2. what browser do you use?

    3. What is the brand and model of your computer?

While you reply us with the above information, we will update the video card driver and turn on compatibility mode (this applies only when you use Internet Explorer).

    See the following suggestions.

Method 1: Refer to the following link suggestions.
Some sites Web may not behave as expected in Internet Explorer

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/956197/ro

Method 2: Open Internet Explorer in no mode control the Add - ons.
    a. click the Start button, then select all programs.

    b. click on Accessories, then select System Tools.

    c. click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

If your browser seems to work correctly in Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode, you can use the add-on Manager to disable all add-ons and then turn on modules only as needed. This will allow you to figure out which add-on is causing the problem.

Method 3: You can update the display driver.
Check out the following link to update the display drivers.

  • vmrun start exists with the error: the operation has been cancelled after the upgrade to workstation 9

My backup scripts stopped working after I upgraded my win7 x 64 welcome to the workstation since version 8 9.

It's used to work without fault. But start with the return of order:

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

I wonder if this parameters are good for a virtual machine, you start with nogui option?

  • What should I do when I receive the message that Disk Defragmenter has been programmed with the help of another program?

I use the 64-bit version of Windows 7, 1.3 terabytes on my hard drive free and have a very slow computer. When I checked the Task Scheduler, it shows that the Defragmenter should start every Wednesday at 01:00 and the last time he had run was 12/10/2011.

I would like step by step, answers I can get, as I'm not all that good on the computer. Thank you.

    Solution...

Reset the calendar... to run every DAY.

This will be as EFFECTIVE as running the DEFRAGMENTATION program in...  AUTOMATIC mode...

Or, (mostly) running in the background, think about it, you are the one who has a TERABYTE of hard drive... to defragment?

The Defrag program defragments only the AMOUNT of hard drive FILLED, in any case.

I throw my computer this way, ETM, it works very well, indeed.

And I did that 2 x 250 GB disks hard.

    XP, on one.

    Windows 7, on the other.

And you RUN it... until no. PROBLEMS appear.

As I said... I usung this program for years and my computer runs as smooth as silk.

Seeing that the way you run a 64-bit operating system... I WOULD add more RAM for your computer.

I would say that you may be using ONLY 2 GiG of RAM, a 64 bit OS that is not enough.

4 GB will work OK, that makes 8 GIg in a Kick butt machine.

Some time in the task of upgrade, an upgrade of... graphic .the CERTAINLY won't hurt, either.

He'll be fine, with this terabyte hard drive you are using.

Now, it will be that a machine might want.

I use a 322-bit OS, but this drive hard terabyte THEN is on my list of "improvements".

    Like 2 of them.

  • My guest user account has stopped working after the installation of several windows and IE9 updates.

I recently installed several windows and IE9 updates. During the install IE9 I stopped the installation process, because it seemed that I had two IE9 installs go. I ended up cancelling the installation so IE9 has not installed. I tried to install IE9 again and this time I can't stop installation, and it has been successful. [1] I need to correct me by declaring that the Mcafee subscription is 18 months and its due for renewal in June, then yes its still the preinstalled version.

[2] will certainly be your advice on that. Should what drivers I roll back?

[3] I thought to go on this forum first, but I chose it because the error occurred while I was updating, but I'll post my question it too

A1A. Ah! The application is named McAfee Security Center by chance?

A1B. Do you plan to purchase a subscription for this or any other McAfee application (which you would need to do so BEFORE the expiry of 18 months 'advance')?

A2. In re the restore drivers, you restore the drivers that you have installed via Windows Update. that is, Intel G45/G43 Express Chipset (graphics driver or screen) and Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (NIC driver). Again, this is a long shot.

A3. Please do that start new thread immediately.
