Messed up computer volume!

For awhile now, sometimes when I start my computer (Windows 7 Home Premium) it will work very well so I'll do something with audio, like reading a video and the video does not play. Hey... I start a game. No sound. I check the settings. 100% for the game. So, I go to my volume mixer, and is the volume. But if I mess with the volume, after like 2 seconds it freezes and an error message talk about crashing. Please help, I tried going to my services and restart my audio, but it gave me an error message. The only way I can fix it my computer is restaaring. And I DON'T want to have to do that. Once again Please HELP!

  • I'm running out of room on a Pentium 3 computer, volume size 14,30 GB using Windows XP Home Edition

original title: Windows XP Home Edition

I'm running out of room on a Pentium 3 computer, volume size 14,30 GB using Windows XP Home Edition. This computer is no longer connected to the internet. I did a 'new' installation of the XP disk in an effort to remove unwanted files, but they remain on the computer, too much space? I have 22% free space (3,19 GB). I have the drivers for 2 printers on the computer, 1 regular printer (.38 MB) and 1 photo (63,63 MB). These are only currently installed programs, I put on the computer after the installation of "new". When I try to use the cleaning disc, the screen says I have 539ko internet temporary files and 32 KB of web client / Publisher temporary files. When I try to view these files, this screen is 'empty' or hidden? If I "check mark" these files and tell the computer I don't know I want to remove them, a screen indicates that they are being deleted (this screen only lasts a fraction of a second)?  but they are stll on the computer. Sometimes it deletes temporary internet files only to "come back" and the size can be different?  I tried to run the Disk Defragmenter (it took a lot of time). When I look at the report, I have a long list of files that it could not defragment? An example would be \ documents and settings------quest-my documents-my... I can't find these files? In addition, the computer is reminding me that I have so many days to activate windows after running the XP disk again. Thank you!

Do a "new installation" Windows to remove unwanted files, it's a bit like swatting flies with a hammer.  And in your case, the hammer was apparently missed.  And, as you have discovered, you have now re - activate.  I hope that you still have your ID handy product.

What are the files that are too much space and you want to delete?
Consider to download and execute JDiskReport, a small utility in Java that will graphically show you what files take up more space on your drive.  In order to do this, however, you need to install Java, available here: http://www.java.com/en/

Here's how to do a "clean" Windows XP installation, which includes the step of the formatting of the hard drive (otherwise said, the Windows CD not implementing in the form as part of the installation process; you don't need any other disk, diskette or other):

    http://www.theeldergeek.com/xp_pro_install_-_graphic.htm
    http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

There are important things to think before you do another reinstall.

Although your computer will probably work after a clean install of Windows XP, some of the features of your material are not available until you install the specific drivers for this hardware (rather than the drivers built into Windows XP).  The most likely problems are the video and audio, but since your computer is very old, it is likely that Windows XP has an enough information on your hardware it will, in fact, work OK.

Unless the Windows XP CD you already includes Service Pack 3, if you're ever going to connect the computer to the Internet, you must install Service Pack 3 (and subsequent critical updates).  The best way to do is to connect the computer to the Internet and go - only - to http://www.update.microsoft.com , even if you're never going to connect to the Internet, Service Pack 3 may have included updates of Windows features you want to use.

  • My computer volume gets quiet, even at maximum volume, without apparent reason.

Sometimes without reason tanks of volume on my computer and I cannot understand why. I'll change the main volume up, but nothing changes, and I will increase the volume of what I'm listening (it is more than a program, it does so it is not question of the program, but I mostly listen to Netflix or talking on Skype).

Finally, it corrects itself, but it's very, very quiet to the point where I can't hear who I'm talking about and turn on the subtitles on Netflix.
I don't know much about computers, this could be my sound card is going bad or something?

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. do you get any error code or error message?

This problem usually causes due to driver problems. I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Run the utility of game audio troubleshooting and check.

Open the Audio playback troubleshooting utility:

    Hi CJC62,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forum.

What version of the operating system is installed on your computer?

Assuming that it's Windows XP, here is some information on the Internet Explorer that comes with Service Pack 3 (SP3). SP3 for XP will continue to ship with Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) and it contains a roll-up updates of security for IE6. If you still use Internet Explorer 6, then XP SP3 will be offered to you via Windows Update as a high priority update. You can safely install XP SP3 and have an updated release of IE6 with all your personal preferences, such as homepages and Favorites, still intact.

  • Where can I download a version of Acrobat 9 pro for the new computer volume license

I have a laptop retired and got a new. I have a valid license for Acrobat 9 Pro. It appears in the list of my licenses on the Adobe Web site.

The installation rejected the license number, so I contacted support. They said that I tried to install a retail version with a volume license, and they sent me to licenses.adobe.com to get a download of volume license. Only Acrobat 9 pro does not appear on the list of downloads available in my account.

There is an inconsistency here. The list of my licenses on adobe.com says I have a valid license. Tech support says that's a volume license, but it does not appear on my site of volume license. Said technical support so that they can not help me because this product is not supported.

I'm about to get gypped out of my ability to use what I bought and 'forced' in an upgrade. Is it possible for me to get a download and continue to use it?

    Thank you

    Mike

If AA 9 was part of CS, then you will get it by downloading CS, not directly in Acrobat. As we have stated, normally volume licenses are managed by the contact of the company that keeps track of the number of users and others, including the distribution of the software. In fact, many companies that work with the same volume license requires that all help requests go through this contact. The use of a contact to deal with these details makes it viable for a software company offer volume discount which is often considerable. The forums offer the opportunity to get aid, but not the software itself. Have you tried to contact your IT people about software?

    Hello

Before performing a reinstallation of Windows XP, I suggest you perform an upgrade on the spot is also known as a repair installation. This repair any Windows damaged with fresh copies files and leave you the settings and personal files only.

How to perform an upgrade on the spot (reinstallation) of Windows XP

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/978788

Important: make sure to save all your date before performing the repair facility.

Note: After the upgrade on site, your personal data and installed programs will not be deleted, but you may need to run Windows Update to install all the updates that are available for your system to update these files system to the current version.

If your installation DVD disc is prior to Sp1, and you have the SP1 is installed on your computer, you will need to uninstall SP1 to finish the upgrade on the spot and then reinstall the necessary windows updates. This applies if you have SP2 also.

  • Very low volume for mp3 youtube or windows media player.

I have windows vista I have the volume turn completely. But it is very low that if I use the speakers that are built into the computer the volume is fine. But if I plug a speaker on the back of the computer volume is very low.

    Hi Robert,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community and forums thanks for posting the question.

I see that the volume is very low during playback of Youtube or Windows Media Player. We will analyze and identify the cause of the problem.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

2 is this problem limited to Youtube video and Windows Media Player?
    3. do you have the codecs installed on the computer?

    4. are you aware of changes to the computer before the show?

Because the built-in speakers work correctly, the external speakers may be corrupted.

    Method 1:

I suggest you to connect the speakers to another computer and check if the speakers are working properly or not.

    Method 2:

Run the Fixit described in the article:

Diagnose and solve the problems of Windows audio playback automatically
    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/AudioPlayback/?WA=wsignin1.0

    Method 3:

Although most speakers have a volume control, you can control the overall level of sound using Windows.

    Adjust the speaker volume

  • Volume control turns itself higher

I'm new to Vista.  Here's the problem: suddenly pops up a blue window with a counter of volume and the speaker and the computer volume caps.  If I open the volume control and move the slider to a lower level of the volume, the volume goes up.  Finally, the window disappears, but don't know where it comes from or how to eliminate it.  Nothing happens if I left-click or right-click on the blue window.  I'm not using a mouse, I use the touchpad.  It undergoes by contacting the touchpad?  Is this a virus?  I can't find all the controls for this and has never seen anything like this in XP.  It's incredibly boring, but I also understand that it may be something I do by mistake or due to a setting that may have to be modified.

    Brian-

Thanks for your help.  I was following your instructions and try to isolate the problem.  So here's what happened.  My daughter has been using a Dell laptop, just like mine.  She had to lower its volume, while she hits an icon located above the keyboard and the blue window opens! It turns out that this is a feature on the Dell laptops.  There is a problem with it, but it's problem of Dell to resolve, not Microsoft.  The thing that amazes me, I called Dell for support and had to go through reset my computer to factory settings and tell him of this window was caused by a virus.  Thanks for the help, you helped me to understand, it's a matter of Dell.
