Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Get rid of smiling face when my PTT is unavailable

I got a notice that I had a Blackberry Messenger invitation (represented by the smiley face in the top of my screen), but when I go to "push to talk" (which I believe is where the blackberry Messenger) it tells me "PTT cannot service not available, please contact AT & T.»

This phone is for my work, so it would appear that they didn't pay for this plan, which is fine... but how do I now get rid of the smiley face? What choices do I have? It seems small, but its pretty boring.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Voice chat is not the Blackberry mail application.

You must select the mail application from Blackberry on the screen of the handset applications.

If you do not use and do not want the icon that you can go to Options - Advanced Search - Applications.

Select the Blackberry messenger and click the menu button and delete. Hard reset and it will disappear.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones get rid of the Junk!

Hello. Just got my Storm a few weeks ago and have worked to customize it as I want. My question is this:

I removed the app to Flickr through my Blackberry Desktop Software and removing the application Flickr. I double checked that the software is not on my phone by going to Options > Advanced > Applications and the Flickr isn't here. HOWEVER... the stupid icon is still on my screen and I can't get it off. I tried select the icon, and then check the options, but it does not allow a 'delete '. Then. Anyone know how to get rid of this garbage on my phone?

    Thank you!

Handed to your device by removing the battery for 30 sec. That's the problem.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Get app world works... the 8520 using a mac...

Help me please! I tried everything, I just bought a BlackBerry 8520, v5.0.0.681 (Platform 5.2.0.67) and I was so happy, but now I do not know... I can't get anything to work... well ok, I can call and send SMS messages... but I was expecting a little more

I can not install the app world, I really tried to find solutions before writing, but I can't find anything that helps...

I tried first on the mobile; It has installed but says something about an unsupported version, so I uninstalled the app...

then I tried with the desktop software, it gives me this message: BlackBerry Desktop Software could not validate your update to the BlackBerry device. Aborting installation because of the failure of the validation. Some packages contained unsatisfied dependencies...

    If I'm going to try one the web, I get this message after choosing the stem;

Hello and welcome to the community!

Your BB OS is outdated... you need to update... the current version is 5.0.0.1036. Here's what I recommend... Since you are on MAC, which makes it a bit more difficult that the sets of tools to deal with things are much more limited on MAC:

    (1) properly uninstall the RIM desktop software:

    • KB18771 Install and uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer

    (2) obtain a new download of the RIM Desktop software:

    (3) install the software on your MAC Desktop

    • KB18771 Install and uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer

    (4) now run the Desktop software, connect your BB when prompted and perform a clean reload of your BB OS, choose the most recent version that it offers (if all goes well, 5.0.0.1036):

    • KB19915 Perform a clean reload of software applications smartphone BlackBerry using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer
    • If you have no data on the BB that concern you, and then simply proceed with this update. If you have data on the BB, do not agree that the update and first perform a manual backup of your BB to your Mac. After the update, you may need to restore from this backup (update COULD take a backup itself and restore for you).

    (5) close the Desktop software and unplug your BB when it's all over.

Now, you must do these steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! Good luck and let us know!

    Hello

I'm kinda stuck with my Blackberry Bold 9700.  He wiped my old entries in the calendar (even though I have "Keep forever" selected in options), but I need the calendar last points because I used it for the follow-up of meetings, events, etc.

Before you reinstall an old backup, copy in Outlook and then re - install my current version is there any how else to get this info on the file backup and in Outlook.  I really want to install a previous version of the backup on my phone because when I do, he never wears on a large number of the phone ringing, settings, etc., and I still need to do to get things to normal.

    Help, please!

(By the way, I use an older version of the device software on my phone (5.0.0.714) because I can't stand display new calendar version.)

If you do want to restore a previous backup schedule, you can - calendar only, nothing else.

  • How can Messenger for blackBerry Smartphones and OS - I find out if I can get the updates

    Hello

User "BOLD"; I have installed 6.2.0.44 BBM, how can I check if there are newer updates released?

Even for the operating system, how can I know what I have and if there have been updates I should be downloading?

    Thank you

BBM - which is currently the most recent. You can always check your AppWorld > MyWorld > upgrades, or from your browser go to www.blackberry.com/appworld to see if there is an improved version.

OS - connect to PC > and run the BlackBerry Desktop Software. Will inform you of any upgrade of the OS when connecting.

You can manually install the operating system upgrades. If you are interested in this, after return. Upgrades of the OS are NOT always released by each carrier at the same time, some carriers expect to train employees or they a lot just pass until a new version arrives.

Is there anyway that you can run BB messenger and not your other programs for data roaming?

Go to the email configuration icon, as I said above.

    Click on filters.

  • BlackBerry smartphones get do not all my e-mail messages

I created a new e-mail account (I wait more than 20 minutes) and I get all my emails.  I get some, but not all.  It's an e-mail from work via a web-based server.

You have Outlook on your PC, open to download the email also?

IF you use Outlook to download your email on your desktop PC, Outlook is probably "remove" mail from your email server when it downloads on your PC.

There is a setting in Outlook to "Leave Messages on server".

    For MS Outlook 2003:
    1. Outlook > tools > e-mail accounts > view or change existing > next.
    2. Select the e-mail account > change > additional settings.
    3. Advanced tab > leave a copy of Messages on the server
    4. check this box.

    * You will need to make this change for each Outlook e-mail account, you have.

Other versions of Outlook have a similar setting, although it can be found in a slightly different place of the: Advanced settings.

  • Battery for blackBerry Smartphones gone in 12 hours - problems with the Facebook app

    Hello everyone,

My 9700 bold battery runs out approximately in 12 hours. The signal in the area (Orange Switzerland) is weak and there is no difference if the phone is 2G or 2G & 3 G mode. Phone used in roaming without data and battery was good for a week or even more with not a lot of phone calls. Is this normal and any advice on how to preserve the battery?

I also have problems with the installation of Facebook. When I try to connect, send me a message of this data connection is not available and that I should try again later. I tried several times and while everything works well, Facebook is not working. Downloaded twice directly from Balckberry and reinstalled but without success.

    Grateful for any advice.

    Kind regards.

They can run "in the background". Go to those that you have recently used, and then use the menu option: closing

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not send new text of the messages folder

I have a Bold 9650.  I have, unfortunately, updated for the new OS and now I am unable to send texts from the news of my Messages folder.  I can send an email and response to text, but when I open the menu and click on 'Another new message' there is nothing there.  It's a dead link.  I have to go in my contacts folder, compose and send text, then close to everything in my Contacts folder.  Is this a bug or something put in place bad?

This new OS is horrible.  He got all these bells and whistles, with none of the previous operating system usability.

Don't give up quite yet, Stacie.

OS 6 is a solid operating system with many advantages over the OS 5.  If you have recently upgraded to it, your phone can not be used to it and she can act a little.  This is normal and with a few tweaks here and there, we can get it just how you want.

A battery pull will probably solve this problem.  Remove the battery while your phone is on, then replace it.  Return to your Messages folder and see if the option appears.

If Yes... Yay!  If not... let know us and we will try something else.
