Microsoft secondary authority w / Cisco router / PIX 501
I'm trying to get digital certificates to work on my 2621XM router. I have also
need to put in place on the three firewalls PIX 501 but who have not obtained until now still. I have
don't have no access to the CA root, but it could bring in line if I had to. I have
have a stand-alone Microsoft subordinate CA that I want to use to publish all
certificates.
Is it possible, as well with the router and the firewall? If so, what version
the IOS do I need? I installed the add-on CEP at HQ. I can't
It works and I'm starting to wonder if it is still possible. If this doesn't
work, how can I make it work? I have all the documents that Cisco has combed
on the subject and have gotten nowhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Jennnette,
I sent this document, let me know how it goes or if you have any questions.

Have a 501 PIX and Cisco 3640 router. The 3640 is configured for dynamic map for VPN. The PIX 501 is set to pointing to the 3640 router static map. I can establish a tunnel linking the PIX to the router and telnet to a machine AIX on the inside network to the router. When I try to print on the network of the PIX 501 inside it fails.
What Miss me? I added the configuration for the PIX and the router.

Connectivity random Cisco Pix 501
Hello. I'm having some trouble with my CISCO PIX 501 Setup.
A few months I started having random disconnects on my network (from inside to outside). The machines can ping the DC or the Pix, but impossible to surf the internet. The only way to make them go outside is a reboot of Pix.
My configuration is:

Hello
I have Microsoft CA server with the latest support CEP and pix 501 that gets the digital certificate. I also have the client certificate of Cisco, but VPN doesn't work
In the IPSec Log Viewer, I constantly "CM_IKE_ESTABLISH_FAIL."
It worked well prior to Win2k server has been completely updated with the latest patches.
The pix configuration is identical to that of article http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/471/configipsecsmart.html
I reinstall the stand-alone CA and support CEP server but not had any luck.
What could be wrong?
It looks like IKE implementation problem. Make DH group 2 policy ISAKMP.

PIX 501 and VPN Linksys router (WRV200)
I inherited a work where we have a Cisco PIX 501 firewall to a single site and Linksys WRV200 Router VPN on two other
sites. Asked me to connect these routers Linksys firewall PIX via the VPN.
According to me, the Linksys vpn routers can only connect via IPSec VPN, I'm looking for help on the configuration of the PIX 501 for the linksys to connect with the following, if possible.
Key exchange method: Auto (IKE)
Encryption: Auto, 3DES, AES128, AES192, AES256
Authentication: MD5
Pre Shared Key: xxx
PFS: Enabled
Life ISAKMP key: 28800
Life of key IPSec: 3600
The pix, I installed MDP and I tried to use the VPN wizard without result.
I chose the following settings when you make the VPN Wizard:
Type of VPN: remote VPN access
Interface: outside
Type of Client VPN device used: Cisco VPN Client
(can choose customer of Cisco VPN 3000, MS Windows Client by using the client MS Windows using L2TP, PPTP)
VPN clients group
Name of Group: RabyEstates
Pre Shared Key: rabytest
Scope of the Client authentication: disabled
Address pool
Name of the cluster: VPN - LAN
Starter course: 192.168.2.200
End of row: 192.168.2.250
Domain DNS/WINS/by default: no
IKE policy
Encryption: 3DES
Authentication: MD5
Diffie-Hellman group: Group 2 (1024 bits)
Transform set
Encryption: 3DES
Authentication: MD5
I have attached the log of the VPN Linksys router VPN.
This is the first time that I have ever worked with PIX so I'm still trying to figure the thing to, but I'm confident with the CCNA level network.
Thanks for your help!
Hello
Everything looks fine for me, try to have a computer in every network and ping between them. Check the newspapers/debug and fix them.
Let me know.
See you soon,.

Cisco 3640 to the PIX 501 site 2 site VPN performance specifications.
I intend on creating a site-2-site VPN in Star configuration with a Cisco 3640 as the hub and PIX 501 at the remote sites. My question is around the plug that I read.
.
The specifications for a PIX-501-BUN-K9 tell PIX 501 3DES Bundle (chassis, SW, 10 users, 3DES).
.
A question is what really "10 users. Which is the limit of the number of concurrent sessions, I have on the VPN at a given time, or that it means something else?
.
I also read the specs say that the Maximum number of VPN tunnels that can support a PIX 501 is 5. Because I'm not going to make a tunnel between the PIX 501 at the remote site and the 3640 on the central site, I think I would be OK. Is that correct or is the max value talk the maximum number of concurrent sessions on the tunnel tunnels?
.
Thank you.
UDP traffic always creates a session in the PIX so that the return traffic will be allowed in. The UDP timeout is 2 minutes but IIRC. If you go around NAT with a statement of "nat 0" should not create an xlate I think.
The real time is hard to say really, probably around 2 minutes for a UDP-only user, you would probably make a few 'local sho' orders on the PIX to really see for sure however.

Place a FIOS for VPN router behind PIX 501
I have a Verizon FIOS internet connection and one of their routers wide wireless broadband, and this is a configuration of base completely... their router DHCP and firewalls, and the connection has a dynamic address. I would put the PIX 501 behind the Verizon router as one of its clients and make the VPN PIX of other PIX 501 at other locations, such as my entire network has access to remote networks.
Is this possible, and if yes, any who could some suggest configurations (how to address internal and external, static routes ports that may be required somewhere, etc.)?
Thanks for any help.
When installing my FiOS, I had already asked that it be installed on the Ethernet cable. Don't know they need to do something for you to spend the coax to Ethernet.
The best way to test it would be to find the Media Converter (follow the coaxial cable between your FiOS router to the demarc and there should be a box with a coaxial port, some phone Sockets and an Ethernet port). If you unplug the coaxial cable and plug a laptop computer on the Ethernet port, see if your laptop takes a public IP address. If Yes, then you just have to run to your PIX501 Ethernet cable and you should be ready.
Just to note that Verizon, according to your region, reserved DHCP assignments. This means that you may need to call Verizon and ask them to release the previous assignment of DHCP-MAC addresses. I had this happen recently. They must release the assignment then your PIX will pull a new IP address and they will book your new IP - MAC address assignment. They do this to speed up the connection to a cold start time on the router.
Basically, they are filtering by MAC address, but rather through a sticky ARP where they clear the entry, and then the next device that connects records his MAC address and then only that device is permitted to connect to this leg of the cable. So there is a bit of work you have to do, but the most difficult part would be sitting on hold waiting for a tech, if you call to Verizon.

Cisco PIX 501 to Cisco 3005 concentrator via remote access
Hello people,
I need your help.
We got a Cisco PIX 501 in one place and this pix is configured for pppoe connection. The pix connects to internet via the pppoe client. an official ip address ping works well.
So what I want to do is to establish a tunnel von between this pix and a cisco 3005 concentrator.
But I failed to establish it.
Here are the pix config. the acl? s are only for the test and will be replaced if it works.

the hub, I created a user pixtest, a group vpntest and I? ve created the rules of the network for example to what server, users behind the pix will be able to access.
And that? s all.
I couldn't send you exit pix or hub because I don't have an error or a message that the tunnel will be established.
What can be wrong?
Thanks for the replies
This configuration example shows how to create an IPsec tunnel to a computer that is running the Client VPN Cisco's (4.x and later versions) to a Cisco VPN concentrator 3000 to allow the user to safely access the network inside the VPN concentrator.

If you see the MM_WAIT_MSG2, which means that her counterpart (the other side) does not answer and this side where you can see the status MM_WAIT_MSG2 sent the first message IKE, however, did not hear of the peer.
You can check if UDP/500 is stuck on the way between the 2 sites.
Try running traffic on the other side and see if you also get the same status of MM_WAIT_MSG2. If you do, that confirms 100% 500/UDP is blocked on the way between the 2 sites.

PIX 501 DNS resolution with static route
I use a pix 501.
I have an internal DNS server behind the pix that uses my DNS of the ISP servers to resolve external domains.
Now, I want to host a web site on the same server.
To allow external access to the web server, I add the following:
outside_in_http list access permit tcp any host A.B.C.D eq www
static (inside, outside) A.B.C.D L.M.N.O netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0
Access-group outside_in_http in interface outside
It is very good and allows web access. The problem is that the server is able to resolve DNS queries.
How can I allow my server to resolve DNS again securely. I guess it's pretty simple to do, but I'm having a lot of trouble to find the solution.
Thanks in advance
Dylan
On your IP set dns to 67.38.230.69, then ping www.yahoo.com server from guest... what resovle?

QoS is supported on the Cisco PIX 501 or 506th?
Hello
There is no mention of QoS in technical for the PIX 501 and 506 records but nothing for the 515. PIX OS 7.x configuration guides do not mention specific material support.
Does anyone know if QoS is taken care of in the 501 or 506th - I need support lines expectations for VoIP over IPSec.
Thank you
Chris
QoS is supported in 7.x code, you would have to level 501/506 to 7.x code, but this is not supported on these two models, the next logical solution would be to upgrade your PIX 501/506 to asa5505s.

Customer Cisco PIX 501 VPN connects but no connection to the local network
Hi all:
I am able to make a VPN connection to a PIX 501. The remote client is assigned an IP (192.168.2.1) also, but not able to access all the machines in the local network connected to the PIX.
I have attached the PIX configuration.
Advice will be greatly appreciated.

I'm setting up a cisco pix 501 vpn tunnel but will have questions. The Firewall works although I am able to get out of the internet, but the VPN does not work. On the primary side, I see that the tunnel is up and the traffic is sent but not received.
Currently I'm sitting at the secondary location but don't know what the problem maybe. Anyone know what I have wrong which could prevent the data to send from this device?
Here is my config
Here's my config if it would help

Client VPN Cisco router Cisco, MSW CA + certificates
Dear Sirs,
Let me approach you on the following problem.I wanted to use a secure between the Cisco VPN client connection
(Windows XP) and Cisco 2821 with certificate-based authentication.
I used the Microsoft certification authority (Windows 2003 server).
Cisco VPN client used eTokenPRO Aladdin as a certificate store.Certificate of MSW CA registration and implementation in eToken ran OK
Customer VPN Cisco doesn't have a problem with the cooperation of eToken.
Certificate of registration of Cisco2821 MSW ca ran okay too.Cisco 2821 configuration is standard. IOS version 12.4 (6).
Attempt to connect to the client VPN Cisco on Cisco 2821 was
