  • Missing 2012 LabVIEW DAQ Assistant

    Hello

I just installed LabVIEW 2012 and DAQmx driver for my USB-6008 and there is no DAQassistant in my menu of LabVIEW.

I searched using the search feature on the menu, but he's not here.

I installed LabVIEW before DAQmx by following the instructions on the Web site of NOR.

    Thanks in advance!

You did not provide certain essential information - the version of DAQmx you have installed. It should be of 9.6 in support of 2012.

  • problem with the on LABVIEW DAQ assistant.

I have a LABVIEW student edition. I needed to use NI USB-6008 to acquire the signal, but I do not see "DAQ Assistant" on the Express > entry in the block diagram pane anytime, I opened a new VI. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

  • Impossible to find in LabView DAQ assistant

Hello! I installed the driver NOR-DAQmax 9.3.5 after installing LabView 8.5 Student edition and I'm not able to find the DAQ Assistant, in the function palette. Could you please let me know what else I could do?

    Thank you!

    Hi cmorale4,

Find this article in the DAQmx driver compatibility and LabVIEW, if you have the latest driver that you can install and use with LabVIEW 8.5 should be OR-DAQmx 9.3 you can find here.

The best method is to remove all the drivers you have installed so far, you can do a registry clean with CCleaner and then proceed to the installation of version 9.3

    Kind regards

  • LabVIEW DAQ Assistant accidents

I've read other posts on LabVIEW 8.0 crashing when you change an entity DAQmx Assistant in a VI, and it seems to me that the solution is to upgrade to a newer version of LabVIEW.

I don't want to go that route (in particular the aspect of money), so I was hoping to try to uninstall the DAQmx software then reinstall a newer version (the most recent of which is compatible with the device USB cDAQ-9172 - don't remember what version that would be at the present time).

My question for the more experienced: it's a painless process (in general) to uninstall the DAQmx software and then re - install a newer version? I might break any screws I've done and/or opening usually a giant of Pandora's box by doing this?

    Hi Brad,

Be sure to check this page before downloading a newer version of DAQmx, because the most recent versions of DAQmx support more LabVIEW 8.0: NOR-DAQ & LabVIEW version (for Windows) compatibility

  • Cannot start assistant in LabVIEW DAQ

    Hello

I can't launch the LabVIEW DAQ assistant, but I can do it Max MAX DAQ's not flexible because I can't custom code or convert.  I tried all different ways to open the DAQ assistant and I finally realized something, on the block diagram, I open Tools/Advanced/Edit palette/Express/entry/data acquisition is missing (question mark) and many more functions are missing.

I use the Labview 8.6 and NIDAQmx 8.7.1 evaluation software

Can you please tell me what the problem is. I really need to launch of NOR-DAQmx, LabVIEW.

    Rgds

    Hi Christ,

Thanks for the fast service, I did as you said, but it didn't fix it. Basically, there are many media NI LV (8.5 and down) any brand with an X, I selected (highlighted) of Labview Signal Express support, since it was just the support NI LV as you said in the email (there is a message of side will not install it) then I click Next and finish ,. Reboot, lauch labview, move on to block diag/check on Experss VI on the function palette/entries, but lack even). I have als don't have reinstall Labview.

I don't know if you have a plan B, because I'm stuck or if you can send me a screen shot or dialog of what I do; that will be great.

    Thank you

  • In Labview 8.5, what happens if the input signal exceeds the scope of the signal defined by the DAQ Assistant?

    Hi all

This should be a pretty simple question, but I can't seem to find the answer online and currently do not have the functionality to test this:

I'm using LabVIEW 8.5 and have a VI that imports data from sensor through the DAQ Assistant. In the configuration tab, there is a range of signal input. What happens if my sensor exceeds this range? I get a warning? The default value is the maximum (or minimum)? I was interested in writing a code to display an error that I approach the limits of this range, but did not know if I also need to include code to display an error if the scope is exceeded as well.

    Thanks for the help,

    Tristan

    Hello, Tristan,.

The behavior depends on the selected range and the device you are using.

If you are using a device with a single input range is valid, we will use this range, even if you set a smaller minimum and maximum in the DAQ Assistant.  So, if your device only supports ±10V and you set the range to ±8V, you will still continue to get valid data after your top sensor 8V until what you approach 10V.  When you reach the limit of the extent of your device, the output will be 'rail', and simply return the maximum value until the signal is less than the maximum value again.

Note: A device that is nominally ±10V usually has a go-around (such as ±10.2V) which are usually specced in the manual.

However, if you use a device with several ranges of entry then things become more complex.

NOR-DAQmx player will choose the smallest range that entirely covers the interval you choose.  For example, suppose that your device supports the following input range: ±0.2V, ±1, ±5V, ±10V and you choose 0V - 3V as the range in the DAQ assistant.  The NOR-DAQmx driver will focus on the input range and the list of the entry lines that your hardware supports and choose the smallest encompassing the entire range that you set.  This would be the ±5V, because this is the only beach that contains up to 3V.  Thus, all between ±5V input signal is returned and none outside this range will be 'rail' to the maximum or minimum value.

We do this because using small beaches make more efficient use of the resolution of the ADC.  So, we try to use the most effective range based on what you ask without picking up a range that will make you miss data.

Let me know if I can clarify it more.

  • DAQ Assistant is not in LabView

    Hi all

I use NEITHER cDAQ-9174 and NI 9203.  I have already installed the driver for the NI 9174 cDAQ, which is NEITHER-DAQmx 9.8.0.  I can see the device when I opened NI MAX. However, when I open LabView 2015, I can't find DAQ Assistant in the function Palette. I noticed on the chassis, 'ACTIVE' light is not on while two other "POWER" and "READY" light is on.  I look in the forums OR but I can not find the solution.

    Any suggestion, please help!

    Thank you!

DAQmx 9.8 is not compatible with LabVIEW 2015.  You must use at least DAQmx 15.0.  See here for more details: NOR-DAQmx and LabVIEW compatibility

  • Cannot get DAQ Assistant in Labview to cDAQ 9184

I am trying to build a system for the acquisition of data with one NOR cDAQ 9184. I installed the drivers for the system and I'm able to get to the DAQ system using NI Max (under my system - devices and Interfaces - devices on network) and all channels appear well, however, I tried to follow the procedure described in http://www.ni.com/white-paper/11703/en/#toc2 to integrate my system with LabView and I am unable to find the tab software under the unit to be able to write the RIO 3.5.1 on the appliance and cannot find the device to through the LabView project.

Your real problem is error-50103.  This is a common mistake, and you can find the answers for it if you are looking for in the forums.

The problem is that you can't have several tasks (or several assistants DAQ) try to access the same device at the same time.

Make a DAQ assistant who has all defined channels you wish to purchase.

  • Does not recognize NIPXIe 6535 while working in LabVIEW after selecting DAQ Assistant

When you work in LabVIEW to generate a PWM Signal, need a DAQ Assistant either generate or acquire a signal. In the DAQ Assistant we must select the assesories as NIPXIe 6535 material or 6236 or 6711 to output the signal. During this process, only NIPXIe 6535 can be recognized. It has been a serious problem, so please suggest me with the remedies as soon as possible.

    1. No, you don't need the DAQ Assistant. You even don't need to use in a serious application! You need to learn to be programmed with DAQmx screws.
    2. When you can not select the module mentioned above in the DAQ Assistant, could also check you with MAX (Measurement and Automation Explorer)? You see this HW module in MAX?
    3. If MAX cannot recognize this module, you may have a driver problem. Have you installed all the required device drivers? Please provide the version of the OS and number of bits (64 or 32-bit), version of LabVIEW and number of bits, DAQmx version, etc. You can see the installed software and driver, Max under the heading 'Software' (fill in the list and make a screenshot).
  • How to find the DAQ Assistant in LabVIEW student 2009 Edition

I got 1 Core and Core 2 in LabVIEW 2009 prices in June. When I went to use the student edition I have LabVIEW 2009, I couldn't find the DAQ Assistant. This will present a problem when I come to use it in class this fall. It works fine on my version 8.5.

You must install DAQmx, just like you had to do with 8.5.

  • Connection diagram missing in DAQ Assistant generate the signalling block

This is my first post so please excuse the quality of my description.

When I double click on the block of data acquisition - Assistant, there is no tab connection diagram I can access to see how things are wired to the top. I have a NI USB-6211 connected by USB and it is used to control many different sensors and a power supply. Currently, he works for everything and is hard wired correctly, but only blocks DAQ Assistant has a connection diagram available, the other are not. One who has a connection diagram is used to measure a voltage. Others who do not are used to generate a signal. I would really like to be able to see patterns of connection for each block.

    -Any help would be appreciated

    -Thank you

You can always do like those who never use the DAQ Assistant and read the manual. Right click on the device in MAX and selecting "stitching of the device" works too.

  • DAQ Assistant does not export the values on the scale

    Hello all-

Potentially stupid question but here goes: I'm using the DAQ Assistant to read in 4 analog input voltages, continuous sampling acquires data at 10 Hz 1 point, using LabView 12 on a machine with an acquisition of data USB-6341 simulated device (because my office is more comfortable than the lab!). I want to change the first two signals of voltage to temperature and humidity, respectively. I used the «create a new...» "in the 'Custom Scaling' drop-down in the"Voltage configuration"tab for each of these channels, named gave the slope and the intercept at the origin for the respective linear scales and click OK."

When I test the code - and yet once again, I'm not on a machine with a 'real' DAQ system, I use a simulated device, and it seems that NEITHER MAX generates a sine wave of long period with little noise on top for this - I do not get the results on the scale of my 'signal', I get the raw tension. (If you run my code, I will join, the Relative humidity must be between 0 and 100 and temperature-40 to 60, is not 0 to 5, for example.)

So, what happens? Is there some flag or setting that I missed? The scaling only works on voltage data 'real' of a 'real' instrument DAQ, instead of a simulation (which is why I mentioned twice!)? I have to do something in NI MAX as well as Labview?

Thanks for any help you can give.

    John Easton

Simulations devices will not respond to custom scale.  They are just supposed to allow you to configure your device without errors when you do not have the unit on-site.

"NOR-DAQmx simulated devices create a noisy sine wave to all the entered analog." Simulated data other set-up is not available at this time. »

    http://www.NI.com/white-paper/3698/en

They generate a sine with an amplitude equal to half of your specified input range.  If you want to work with simulated data that would be more realistic for your application, you could write a VI to generate the data and have a business structure to manage both "simulations" and "real", then you could switch back depending on whether you have access to the material.

    I just checked this with a PCI-6254 I install and simulated a PCI-6254.
