MONITOR OFF-GASSING QUESTIONS

I wonder how many other consumers have OUT GASSING problems with their HP MONITORS!

I bought a HP 2009 m wide LCD in April 2009 and now when I put in place (before I have it turned on), I could feel it

smell terrible, almost caustic.  After I started using the monitor I started having all sorts of physical reactions, including:

-Œil, nose & throat Irritations

-Respiratory problems

-Fog of brain with subsequent disorientation

-Weakness of the body

-Irritablity

-Headache

-Nausea

-Insomnia

And these symptoms increase only whenever I use my computer.

Please NOTE: I have to use my computer with my windows wide open and a purfier of powerful air on - and that is not much help.  And no, my computer is not sitting under the Sun is not everything that might contribute to or aggravate these problems.

I WANT TO KNOW:

-Why would these monitors sold to the public when people probably many, many HP had to know THAT OFF-GASSING was a problem and that it would be a great

problem for many consumers?

-HP will replace this monitor (without cost to me) with a monitor that is not gassing off?

-At HP, who is responsible for this?

I want to know who else out there there are similar problems with OFF GASSING!

Hi people!

Thanks for your very nice adivce!  I called HP and they were very respectful and not offered to Exchange my monitor that seems the best idea!

Once again, thanks to these two speakers to my post, I really appreciated your kindness!

    Hi chuckcox!

    Thanks for posting.

No, there is a port on the EOS 70 d allowing headphones to plug for audio monitoring.  However, the camera has an HDMI port, which carry an audio signal.  You can send the HDMI signal to an external monitor that allows you to connect headphones and monitor audio.

  • Turning the monitor off

    Hello

I use Lenovo U400 and I wonder if it is possible to turn off the monitor, only,

    Thank you.

    Hi CalciumKid,

Lenovo U400 is not a hotkey to turn off the LCD, but as an alternative:

If you are running Windows 7, press the F10 key and choose projector only. This will turn off the internal LCD monitor and switch to an external monitor (if you have not, it will simply turn the monitor off). To switch back, simply press the Enter key.

If you are under Windows 8, press the F10 key and choose the second screen only. To switch back, simply press the Enter key.

    I hope this helps.

  • iPhone 6 more issues of button "home" and turn off the questions

I have two separate issues with my iPhone 6 more

9.3.2 software (updated to try to solve this problem - question began before the software upgrade)

My iPhone only more 6 works randomly.  I'm still able to make calls and use the phone, but the phone is constantly interrupted by these two questions.

"Slide to turn off" or button 'Cancel' at the bottom

    (1) the phone asks me to "Slide to Power Off" - at the top of the button slide phone - with a cancel downstairs.  Slide and turn it back on does NOT resolve this problem.

"Home" button is to take a screenshot of my current screen randomly.

    (2) when you press the button of my house, he takes a picture of my current screen instead of Act works as a home screen button.  This can happen 1 time or 10 times in a row before the home button functions correctly.

Here is a screenshot of the camera to illustrate various photos taken.

    I did all the updates

    I did tap hard downs

I backed up my phone and tried to reset to factory settings

These are the questions randomly but are very common - a question of these two issues with caused during the use of the phone to navigate or "Slide to power off" appears randomly if the phone is not in use.

    Please help with any suggestions!

Your sleep/wake button is pressed somehow. You have a form any case suitable for your phone that covers this button? If not, the sensor that presses the Sleep/Wake button against is missed ignition. As you even tried a factory restore, it may be clear that the problem occurs because of a case that is pressing the button somehow or the switch has gone bad.

  • Tecra M5: External monitor flickers - grounded question?

    Hello

I just bought a new Acer Full HD LCD Monitor (P244W) and have tried to connect on my Tecra M5 VGA port.
It works, but there is a noticeable and more annoying flicker. I tried with XP (SP3) and now Vista (SP1) and it happens for both. I have the latest BIOS and NVidia drivers. The actual laptop LCD screen still works fine, it's just the external screen that flickers.

To make sure that there is nothing wrong with the monitor, I plugged the ATI video card VGA port on my desktop pc and it displays fine without flickering.

After completing the web for people with similar problems, I narrowed down it to her being caused by my power adapter with a grounding problem as the flicker disappears as soon as I unplug the AC adapter and just run the battery. It seems the solutons common to this problem are:

    (1) try some different VGA cables with better shielding against interference.
I tried this and it made no difference. I tried cables with or without the magnet ferrite/Starter thing at both ends of the cable and the flicker remained.

    (2) try the different screen resolutions and refresh rate.
Tried to adjust some lower resolutions, but the twinkle remained (not to mention that I prefer to keep the native resolution of 1920 x 1080 for my monitor). The NVidia driver allows only 60 Hz refresh rate at 1920 x 1080, so I couldn't change that.

    (3) make sure that the computer laptop AC adapter / CC and the monitor are connected to the same wall jack and are on the same power expansion card.
Tried, but it does not solve.

    (4) run an extension cord to another circuit of power supply in my house and to the AC adapter and the monitor of this to see if its something wrong with the wall socket using im.
I tried connecting to a wall in my laundry, but does not resolve it.

    (5) try using a different power expansion card and nothing else is connected on the power adapter and the monitor.
Tried, but it does not solve.

    (6) get a pin 3 to 2-prong adapter, so the power adapter is connected to the Earth is no longer.
Most of the people on the web seem to say this corrects the problem, but I don't know how it is safe to leave this way long term. Especially, when stories of mobile phones capture the fire are multiplying.

    (7) get an adapter to generic brand as they sometimes solve the problem better than the Toshiba power adapter grounding.
Yet once again, I would avoid this option rather than even the most generic brands cost dear.

    (8) remove the battery and run its own from the AC adapter.
Tried, but it does not solve.

    9) play with the settings of monitors.
Tried, but none of the settings fixed it.

    So, what are my options?
Is there a known cause and the solution to this problem?
If my laptop is still under warranty, can I get a replacement AC adapter / CC or something to work around this problem?

    Thank you

  • Satellite L850-1v0 - alert "Cable not connected" when external monitor OFF

    Hi all

    I have a portable Satellite L850-1v0.
My monitor is an A.c.e.r X233H
    Windows 8

I have the setting 'Disable the display' 5 minutes.

However, when the laptop off the screen I get a small box that bounces around the screen stating "Cable not connected". The monitor is connected via the VGA port.

If I connect the monitor to my other machine it turns off fine and do not show this message.

How can I get the laptop to turn off the display correctly?

    Thanks in advance
    Richard

    > when the laptop off the screen I have a small box which bounces around the screen stating "Cable not connected". The monitor is connected via the VGA port.

The message appears because the signal to the external display was interrupted because of the setting: turn the display off.

    > If connect the monitor to my other machine it turns off fine and does not show this message.
I think that the other computer/laptop supports another graphics card and so this message does not appear.

Satellite L850-1v0 support and use of the 4000 Intel HD Graphics intern, who is part of the processor Intel® Core i3 - 3120M and this graphics card shows these alerts

  • Mute or LED on / off button question on Satellite A300 - 15 c

    Hello

    I have a similar problem. I have laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 - 15 c.

Until recently, the multimedia keys worked fine. I have assigned an exe file to the second to the left key and been happy to use the power button lights and the dimmer.exe, but a few days ago the drive key stopped turning lights and acts rather as a key to turn off/turn on the sound. I checked the SCT and the key is always associated with the dimmer.exe. I even tried to associate the key with another function, but it remains just mutes / restores the sound the sound. You have an idea as to what could cause this problem and how can I solve this problem?

And no, apart from updates to Vista randomly I have not installed anything new since before the key drive started acting weird...

    Hello!

Value added package regulates these buttons and in this case, you must reinstall and use the latest version on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

As Garrett says you have to remove the old version first, restart, clean the system and then install the most recent drivers.
I started this thread and I think it might be useful to you, because the user Raver posted a nice workaround and you should try this also:

Good luck and give us feedback! I hope this works for you too! :)

  • Portege R500 - Slim port replicator monitor external activation question

    Hello
I use a Toshiba Portege R500i and a thin replicator II

I have the extensions mobile tosh running and set to activate the external monitor only on the dock. This works very well if the machine is open and connected, BUT if the machine is closed and will then sleep, I dock, turn it on, the mouse and the keyboard light upwards and the screen does not turn on. If blindly, I type my password, the screen is activated. Also, if I opened the laptop and log in to the external display is enabled.

How can I get the screen to activate without logging in?

    your
    Bob

    Hmm.
I think first of all you must update the Mobile Extension of TOSHIBA.
Then, you must make sure that in the "TOSHIBA Mobile Extension" "Service of change of display" is checked and the release of 'the view' has the value 'Different internal/external of the Image' in the tab 'change of display Service.

In addition the display driver update.

I'm not very well if it will be a solution but it s m without a doubt worth a try!

  • Monitor off

Hi, I just got a new HP computer and monitor, running windows 7. I have all the settings of poower set to "never", but after about 2 hoours of inactivity, the screen stops at the password screen, suggestions? ("Monitor a HP 2311, computer is HP Pavilion HPE, h8t".)

In addition, on the keyboard, which is the Red character on the, button 'B '?

    Thank you all... Dave

I check and recheck your power setting options and keep them until they really stick. Also check the setting because it has a checkbox to require a password to access the computer.

Regarding the Red 'b', I think it's allowing you to switch your audio Beats or disable... It will take perhaps by pressing the "fn" key and the "b" at the same time to toggle.

  • When you use Windows Live Photo Gallery SCREENSAVER, monitor off, regardless of power parameters. The power settings work with all the other screen savers.

Windows Live Photo Gallery screensaver does not extinguish whatever my power settings.  This is the case with Windows Live Photo Gallery.  When you use any other screen saver, the screen turns off according to the way in which the power settings are defined.  It is quite frustrating because I prefer to use as my screen saver Windows Live Photo Gallery.  But he will stay indefinitely if I stop it manually.  Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?   Thank you.

    Hi MaynardCrossman

As the issue seems to be specific to Windows Live Photo gallery, you can contact the Windows Live support team. I would recommend posting your query to community specific to Microsoft Windows Live. • U2413 problem of calibration double monitor and a Question

    Hello

Yesterday, I received my new 2 U2413 monitors.  I finally understood how to calibrate them by installing the appropriate software: Dell UltraSharp adjustment of the calibration Solution 1.5.3.

Now my problem is that I don't get the same options of calibration for each monitor.

#1 monitor, the Dell UltraSharp calibration Solution called "DELL U2413 (2) KTXXK418AEFL", after clicking on "View profile" from the home screen offers me options White Point like CIE Illuminant D65 (ranging from D50 to D75), then native, temperature of daylight, xy... and measure.

#2 monitor, the Dell UltraSharp calibration Solution called "DELL U2413 (2) KTXXK418AEVL", after clicking on 'View of profiling' in the home screen offers me options that I expected from the user guide: AdobeRGB, sRGB, Rec. 601, Rec. 709, SMPTE-C xy, native and Custom...

Why are they different?  I used natively to calibrate the monitor #2 and it automatically set.  I used to calibrate the monitor #1 CIE Illuminant D65 and it does everything automatically except luminance, that I had to do it manually via the controls of the monitor.

Monitor #1 seems to be the solution to hot.  It is almost blinding, and the colors still seem a bit saturated.  It seems that the calibration of Monitor #2 was much more thorough (it took a lot more time and seems to do everything for me).

Why I don't get the same options for each?

And finally, I think that I read that if I let the i1Display Pro plugged and by the monitors, it can adjust the brightness during the day based on the light in the room.  Is this true?  If so, what should I do to activate this for two screens?

Sorry this post is so long and thanks in advance for any help.

    Sincerely,

    Gary

Chris said that an update (when?) will correct this problem. Until then plug a monitor when using a DA, after calibration to connect the two and configure your installation of double screen.

When two of the same model monitors are connected, the selection options becomes different. X - rite will release a new software version to fix this bug. In the meantime, connect to only one monitor at a time for calibration.

    DELL-Chris M

Update - my apologies for you mislead. X - rite has confirmed that this is not a bug fix. DUCCS (Dell UltraSharp color calibration Solution) software works as expected. In a double or more monitor configuration, you must have only a monitor connected to the computer at the same time during calibration. Calibrate this monitor. Then disconnect it and connect the second monitor. Calibrate.
