    Hi @Upper_Left,

It seems as if the HP product registration service is temporarily unavailable.

Normally you get invited to register immediately after installation is complete.

It's a Web page that can help you know if the printer is listed, or as aid re-register once the number of available service - Registration Question Index.

The term of defective kernel is used which means that the defective part you are replacing is the same part that you send back.

When you select the option to change the replacement part is usually repaired or refurbished, is why there is such a difference in price between the parties. It seems that if the defective part is not returned within the specified time. 'faulty base tax' is loaded.

I can't say for sure 100% that the problem will be resolved to the replacement printhead. If the printer was in warranty, it would be the normal order of operations.

Please click the "accept as Solution" and the "thumbs up" button up on top of my first response above and other similar issues may find the easiest solution.

    Thank you!

I have run all diagnostics (situation report printer, print heads, cleaning, alignment, etc.) and on each other colors print fine, but the black does NOT print. I also replaced the cartridge.

This is the print head? How can I get this resolved so I can print again?

    Thank you!

HP Officejet Pro 8600 more indicates 'missing or does not print head ". I did 4 HP instructions and now I'm #4: contact HP. I cleaned the heads, replaced the 4 cartridges, removed and replaced the unit restarted, everything. Now what?

There is a document with measures to help address the missing or condition is not the print head.  This document can be found here.

From your post, I understand that you did some the most of these steps, but run Solution 4: replace the print head.

If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer/printhead without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.

  • Text in black does not print

HP6510 blocked by elderly neighbour printer: removed from the jam and I tried test print from QUICKEN. Color printed but black would not. I tried text printing of the WORD that does not print. Tried again in color that worked. Ran all controls on the screen including cleaning, align etc and tried to print the report... still no black. Installed new cartridge and checked for bent parts or tightening (found nothing), but got the same results with the same tests (several times).

Is there something unique about BLACK?   Stock replacement cartridges are more valuable than the printer itself.

Can someone point me in the direction of correction? Yes, I suppose I asked you to tell me where to go.

    PROBLEM SOLVED!

Cleaning cycle which has not corrected the problem ran previously. Removed all cartridges and reconnect firmly.

Although this was the second try on this solution, sounded an audible 'click' when the black cartridge has been reinserted.

    Thanks for the support

  • OfficeJet 6500 intermittently does not print half of the last line in the lower doc

Using an Officejet 6500 E709a connected to Windows 7 64-bit PC via ethernet LAN.  Intermittently, the printer is unable to print a part of the last line of the document.  A 12 point font for example it does not print the bottom half of the letters on the last line of text.  What software (word, excel, PDF, etc.) and it does not matter hwer on the page of the last line falls.  It occurs only on the last page of multipage documents.

Try that and see if it helps the question:

    1. In the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon ( ), type control printers in the Search text box and press ENTER. The Printers window opens.

  • photosmart HP 6510 model B211a black does not print

Replace the black cartridge with a 564 XL HP cartridge.  We used XL cartridges of HP past and only use brand.  It does not print in black - tried 2 other cartridges with no luck.  Ran the clean and align the cycle at least 4 times and still no luck.  Is there a way to reset to factory default or somehow get this to print in black.  The other fine print cartridges.

    Becoming very frustrated.

    Thank you

    Scott

Follow these steps above with no luck.  Decided to call HP and they have is not the printer but wants to see me one handed at a reduced price ($100).  They send a label for me to post them the wrong printer because I am sure that they resell and it happens.

In my view, that the printhead is malfunctioning for the black cartridge only.

  • Black does not print

OK, here's the problem and the remedies I've tried. Stopped printing in black, had half a black, but even when changed ink cartridge (all HP cartridges). Didn't work, cleaning print head, did not. Latest version of the re-load software from HP, has not helped. It prints nothing black but grey. And add to this problem, I keep getting message of paper when the paper tray has paper, rolls will pick up a sheet, stops and load paper guest turns. Have unplugged and reset with #3 without change. This has been a Fatima. Help!

    I talked to the support technique hp my black ink not printing not trouble. No technical support suggests to take;

    1. remove the black print cartridge on the location of the cartridge and gentle clean the wide screen inside the location of the cartridge with a cloth provide (like a handkerchief).

2 - Insert the black cartridge and print an alignment test page

3 - If the alignment test page (showing the cyan ink) printing, this clearly indicates that you do not have a problem of printing ink but it does not indicate that you no longer have a printer to work according to the HP Technical Support. Claiming that the trucking for cartridges is damaged.

If you have any questions about this, you can call HP to the 1-800-474-6896 they will be happy to replace this printer with a reconditioned printer that is a printer, that it comes from another bank (excess inventory) which is out of the box by the provider (HP) and sent to their technical service for refurbishment for use of HP. They are reasonably priced anywhere from $ 98 to $ 150 depending on the model. If you decide to replace your printer I'd get the guarantee of $1.00 for two years like this if you have the same problems, they will replace the free printer. Oh I mentioned that you can still use the ink cartridges even if you order a product that can take the same cartridge that belongs to you. Shipping is approximately 7 working days. HP will give you a tracking number for printer and warranty.

  • DeskJet 3520 black does not print

I have a 3520e all-in-one Deskjet printer and I just replaced the cartridges in it all, because they were empty. Now, all of a sudden, the black will not print.

I've done all the fixes proposed by the documents of support on this Web site. The cartridges are genuine, I bought them on the HP online store, they are installed correctly and properly ventilated. I had an alignment, but also print head cleaning. I used the app HP Scan and printing doctor who says that there is nothing wrong with my printer.

I don't know what else to try at this point except maybe by yet another cartridge to see if someone else would work. I never had problems with this printer before.  I would like suggestions. Thank you!

So far, there is no solution for this problem. Since my camera is out of warranty, I chose to do not call HP because I don't want to pay for a telephone diagnosis that will tell me what I already know: it is a hardware problem. I know now, so it's the printer and not the ink, because I bought and installed an another black print cartridge and still have had no luck. I got a free chat with an agent at best Geek Squad to buy today, who confirmed my suspicions that this is probably a hardware problem. I'll take the camera this weekend at their shop for repair.

  • HP 6500 E709A does not print black

My model HP Officejet 6500 E709A old two year has stopped printing black ink. I figured it was because of the black cartridge down on ink because the print is very low. So I put in a new jumbo size 920 black inks. Now, I get nothing. I tried a lot of stuff mentioned on these long threads from 15 to 46 page on the site of HP aid without result. These tips included restart while holding the 3 and the sign # etc. (this worked last year and corrected the problem).

I took all the cartridges and inspected the transport. The grid in stainless steel under the black ink is spotless and shiny silver, so I think no obstruction is a problem. Others have a bit of their visible residual color so it leads me to believe that no ink draw us out of the black cartridge.

I deleted all my HP programs and reloaded them. The problem persists. Why put in a new cartridge would kill the machine?

One thing I am is sucking the remaining ink in the other colors making alignments and all that. Add to that, a colossal waste of time.

Oh yes, the plastic strip is off the air intake.

    Any helpful ideas?

In all honesty to HP and help others unnecessarily, which would have to buy another printer, I should disclose that I found a viable solution to this maddening problem of black ink print do not. In the last month, I left this problem while I checked around a new printer. I found that practically all non commercial printers (homeowner grade) have some deficit or question, then I tried one last time to fix this and succeeded.

My first attempt in rinsing / soaking/rinsing of the print head for 15 minutes in a solution of water and wipe carefully failed.

Others have soaked the print head in a solution of lukewarm water with a bit of added dishwasher detergent. I tried this by placing the print head in a bowl of soup with a little more than an inch of hot water and change the water several times over a period of 24 hours. I then rinsed/soaked in hot water plain to ensure that no soapy residue remained the printhead.

Later, I took, shook off the remaining water and then dried everything that I could with a paper towel, especially the rear electrical contact area.  However, I do not dry a period extended time and voluntarily left the heads of ink still wet/wet internally (gray color ink screens). This plan did not work, I was going to throw the printer anyway so there was little to lose if it has triggered and shorted.

But it didn't worked and continued to do so for several days. If this success was due to a prolonged soaking, SOAP, or return the printhead running before tiny remaining bits of black ink can dry and redurcir is uncertain. I think that it is a viable solution for those with no possibility of better.

  • new e-all-in-one officejet pro 8600 black does not print

I can't print in black with my new printer.

HP says it's out of warranty. I bought it on Amazon of Bob Electronics and they had him as a monitor in use. Has not been used, but if the warrantly expired.

    Hello @ Tallgrayguy,

I understand that you can't print with black ink cartridges. I would try to help with this problem.

Chances are while the printer was sitting as a model of display used, the dried out print head. It's too bad that most print heads are not something you would find at your local big box store.

On the front panel of your printer, press the arrow outside the screen. Select Configuration.

Then tap Tools.  From there, locate the printhead cleaning option. Try this three times.

I hope that this will work. If it isn't I would like to refer you to a post from Bob_Headrick.

black ink does not.  I read the document completely, and then decide if it fits your situation.

I would like to know how things will go.

  • Ink HP Photosmart B209 black does not print!

My printer was working fine just a week ago, but then black ink started all disappeared or simply would not print at all. I thought that the ink must be low, so I changed the cartridge. It is still not printing black. The other colors work fine however. I tried realignment, clean the print heads, check if there's any packing left cartridges, etc. I couldn't find anything that worked. Help, please!

I had the impression for only 2 years and it is the first issue I've had with her.

YES! I just figured out what was going on. I thought I had cleaned the print head, but it turns out that I don't have. I was playing around with the touch screen which is on the printer and under Tools, I found an option that says clean print head. I chose this and it print a sample page with all of the ink black included. Just in time to print articles for my paper that tonight. I hope this helps!

  • 6500 a does not print. iMac w/OS 10.6.7. Message says full spool area.

My 6500 has stopped printing my iMac, although it doesn't thin test.  (Test sheet can be requested OK computer, not only on the 6500 has).  Operating system is 10.6.7.  Problem of thought was a low-ink warning, but install the new cartridges did not print back.  HP utility present receipt of the file and (briefly) a message that printing is 98 percent complete.  Then a few moments later she stops, displays a message indicating that the "spool area" is "full".  The printer starts to "lazy" and no indication of the file disappears.  Rotation off (wait) and then on new printer did not correct problem.  Is it possible to clear this area of spool, so that the 6500 has going to print?  Thanks for any advice.

Well Yes, we will reset the printing system:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Right (control) click inside the box that lists your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.
