move/copy files

I'm on a laptop running windows vista home edition and I want to move or copy a file from onedrive but if I try to drag it the file will not be going over the edge of the window... If I try to copy and paste the copy seems to work but when I try to stick the option isn't available

suggestions?

You cannot drag or copy / paste the files on the site OneDrive.  You need to right-click and choose 'download '.

When copying, moving or undo these actions my move/copy dialog box hangs and nothing is done. I have to restart windows or the taskbar and drill to remove the end screen dialog box. This problem occurs mainly when I try to copy a large number of small files.

This issues occurs also in safe mode, so there is nothing to do with what I have installed. I also have the latest firmware updates.

I was wandering if there is a third that integrates with the windows Explorer replaces windows 7 copy and move operations.

    Thank you

The so-called found TeraCopy. It seems to be the best solution because it is free for personal use and integrates perfectly with Windows Explorer. It can not handle symbolic links correctly and I did not even try hard links, but it's better than nothing.

Much faster than Windows and, more importantly, it has higher success rates.

  • I can not move the files to a folder in windows XP, only to copy them, and I get the windows error. This happens on any file or folder.

I use XP Pro SP 3 and I'm having a problem with moving the files from one folder to another, no matter where the folder or files. If I try to move a file, it crashes and it cannot be opened or used. If I move a folder, then crashes all the contents of the folder, and I can't even open the folder, it tells me access is denied, this nothing else. If I try to delete the file, then I get a prompt to error telling me that the file or folder is not accessible, and that access is denied and "make sure that the disk is not full or write protected." If I try to move the files corrupt in another folder, this time I get the message "Unable to move or replace" the file in question and "make sure that the disk is not full or write protected." If it is a document as a text file, then I can open the file and there is a prompt indicating that access is denied. I can then use the text document and save something, but if I close the document and then try to reopen it, all the changes are lost.
It is not this problem if I move the files to an external device or disk drive.
I am running as an administrator.
Right now, if I need to move a file, I copy it to its destination, which is possible and then delete the original file. With the help of a release program was the only way I could delete these files, which could no longer be used.

    Hello Closrapexa, welcome.

    1. do you have this problem started recently?

I recommend trying the system restore to bring the system back to a State before the problem started. Try this:
    1. click on START
    2. click on "all programs".
    3. click on "Accessories".
    4. click on "system tools."
    5. click on "system restore."
6 follow the prompts shown to restore your system to a date before the problem started. Although the system restore does not target the personal data, it is recommended that you back up all data such as music, photos and documents in case something is not bad.

Yes, normally you can use an external hard drive in safe mode.

Boot to safe mode and open Windows Explorer (double-click on my computer).

You should be able to see the external hard drive, should be the letter E: or F: depending on how much other disks you have.

You need to find the folder where your Itunes Music is maintained.

"In Windows XP and Windows 2000, click the sign more next to the folders and drives to navigate. The default location is

    \Documents and utilisateur\Mes Documents\My Music\iTunes Settings\nom.

    http://support.Apple.com/kb/HT1364

From there its all just find the folder, copy and then navigate to your external hard drive and paste.

I tried to locate the itunes library file to try to move it, but couldn't move anything to my external dr (h) he brought under options in safe mode

You should not try to boot from the external hard drive if that's what you do.

    Hope this helps

    • You are able to read the CD/DVD?
    You can check this link:
  • How copy/paste or copy/move a file to another folder in Windows XP

I need to copy/paste or copy/move the files from one folder to program existing to another folder.

Use the movement commands to copy do?

    Hi Jimmyjack1941,

I suggest you to read the following articles for more information.

These are the items if you use the Windows Explorer to perform operations:

To copy a file or folder

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/windows_fcab_copy_file.mspx?mfr=true

To move a file or folder

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/windows_fcab_move_files.mspx?mfr=true

You can follow these commands to move and rename the file or folder using the command prompt:

Moves files and renames files and directories.

To move one or more files:
    MOVE [/Y | /-Y] [drive:] [path] file1 [,...] destination

    To rename a directory:
    MOVE [/Y | /-Y] [drive:] [path] dirname1 repert2

    [drive:] [path] file1

Specifies the location and name of the file or files you want to move.

    destination

Specifies the new location of the file. Destination can consist of a drive letter and colon, a directory name, or a combination. If you move a single file, you can also include a file name if you want to rename the file when you move it.

    [drive:] [path] dirname1

Specifies the directory you want to rename.

    repert2

Specifies the new name of the directory.

    /Y

Deletes the request for confirmation that you want to replace an existing destination file.

    Y

Causes of request for confirmation that you want to replace an existing destination file.

The switch /Y may be present in the COPYCMD environment variable. This can be derived with / y on the command line. Default value is quick to replace unless is running of command MOVE within a command script.

    Example:

    move c:\windows\temp\*.* c:\temp

Move the temporary directory c:\windows\temp files in the root, this is of course assuming you have the windows\temp folder.

Note: Microsoft does not move the files/folders installed application.

    Hope this information helps.

  • Cannot move or copy files: the requested resource is in use.

Hello, I encountered this error on a month or two. I was trying to challenge myself before posting and ask the question to Microsoft Answers. I tried to move and copy pictures and videos from my phone to my PC Ultimate from Windows 7 x 64. I tried to move some files from my old phone to the PC, I still meet this. I noticed that whenever I have to wait for the preview window has generated the thumbnail or preview all that then I can open or copy on my PC desktop. I also tried to copy to another directory, but I always meet the same. I don't want to waste time on this and wait for the preview comes each time to open or copy the file. Ive also tried to cancel or hide the preview pane to stop the preview generation. But I still have the same result. I therefore plead here for advice and assistance. Thank you.

When you open windows Explorer, you will get two close right pane which is the call preview pane.

and try it now your problem will be solved.

Can you move or copy files or folders with the help of drag-and - drop in windows 7?  Can move or copy files/folders by right click Select copy/move files drop-down menu files, select the file and click ok in windows 7?  It's the easiest way to move/copy large files.  With fall and drag it moves only files unless it's external media then it will copy. • I've lost the ability to copy files on my CD player. When I drag and drop, the only authorized action is 'move' and it does not work.

I've lost the ability to copy files on my CD player.  When I drag and drop, the only authorized action is 'move' and it does not work.   I tried press and hold the CTRL key while dragging, and when I do that all the other disks show "copy" as the default action, but when I hover over the action CD player available only changes to 'pass '.   I ran the Microsoft Troubleshooting tool for CD/DVD players and he said that the media were not writable, but there is a blank CD in the drive.  Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Thanks, but the cd/dvd drive works well - I can burn a cd with windows media player for example.  the problem is that I can't copy files to it.   I can play CDs (haven't checked the DVD).  I can not do and could do before, is doing drag and drop files on it.  The only authorized action is "move".   This happens even when I click CTRL + do drag.   I can copy it to any other player, but the CD player, and when I hover over the "exemplary" drive CD goes to 'move '.

have you tried using a different suite of cd/dvd burning?

  • Move/copy of the space work and Migration of files Post Images

    Hello

Our DBA comes me notified that he has just upgraded to 4.2.6 of 4.1.1 and I see that Images of the workspace, static files and CSS files have not copied during the migration.

My question is, these files can be copied from the previous version of the APEX or do I need to import again?

    Thank you

Thanks for the reply. It works fine, but it only allows to export a component at a time. Any ideas how to move/copy all plug-ins, images, etc. without exporting each file separately?

Export allows multiple files to be included in a single portable file of SQL. Do not confuse upload/download and import/export. They use completely different mechanisms and file formats.

As indicated in the documentation, go to Application Builder > export > file, you can choose to export files, sheets of style CSS or images by application or workspace.

  • Export a Collection new catalog WITHOUT copy/move the files?

Hello everyone.  I use LR 5.5 on Windows 8.1 and currently having all my images in one catalog. My goal is to separate my images in 3 catalogues separate, based on the object WITHOUT moving/copying files to the location of the existing file structure.

I organized all the images in 3 different collections in the catalog.  When you select the images in a collection and using the function «Export as catalog...» ", LR still wants to copy the images to the folder that contains the new catalog.  As part of my work, I voluntarily my structure of files organized into a structure of YYYY-MM-DD files on several disks.  I have no desire to move away from this structure.  Instead, I just want LR to create a new database of catalogue with all the metadata associated with the images that I export... including the current location of the files.

Is - it possible and, if so, how do I remove?  I tried to go on the road to simply duplicate the file *.lrcat a different name and then by deleting items in some catalogs, but which is problematic with the index errors, etc.  I'd rather widely the approach 'additive' anyway to try to keep things as clean as possible with little effort.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    K

When you run the file > export as catalog command, there is an option to include the negatives. Make sure that it is not selected.

However, fragmenting the control of your picture collection is a recipe for confusion and I advise you don't not to go forward. With your folder structure, what makes sense, you'll find that each disk a folder will be controlled by catalog object, the next catalog B, in another folder a few photos will be in the catalog and some in the C catalog because you pulled a mixture in one day, and maybe some pictures will get in both catalogs with different settings and metadata (guess that is 'just'). Use metadata to organize photos, not to break your catalog.

It resembles a kind of refresh issue?

The next time you move a file and see this problem, try pressing the F5 (refresh) to see if this solves the problem.

    Peter

    Dear Peter

There are third-party products on the market that help with the files to copy / paste data from your iphone to a memory. (not sure to transfer data to a memory card)

This is made possible thanks to a unique double-ended USB + a (usually free) soft key working hand in hand to set the formatting. Since this key you can move the data to your PC.

some of these gadgets must be loaded and can offer additional storage of 256 GB.

I hope that answers your question?

  • How can I copy files from project Waveburner to another internal drive?

How can I copy files from project Waveburner to another internal drive without losing the connection to the files audio orig.?

    Thank you for your time,

Since no one answered my call, I sat and researched and studied WaveBurner behavior and I can myself answer my question and solve. Since there were a lot of people asking similar questions on WaveBurner files I will post what I learned.

Whenever you drop your audio files in the list window to make your WaveBurner CD copy not copy your audio files, but relies on the original audio file, where they are located. So whenever you move the files orig. and you open WaveBurner, it can't find those and displays an error window to suggest it will search for the missing file or if you know where he is now lets you find manually. WaveBurner usually place the .wb3 project file that contains everything including your home folder.

For this reason, I reserve now an audio file WaveBurner also folder in my home folder. In order to save themselves from WaveBurner cannot find the audio file, all audio files that I do, I put in my folder of audio files WaveBurner first, then copy them in WaveBurner from there.

When I need to use a bigger hard drive I copy .wb3-WaveBurner projects based, but also my

Sound folder WaveBurner for the home folder on the new hard drive.

WaveBurner is now all audio files without problem.

I hope that this will be a unique problem to someone else. Happy WaveBurning.

    W.W.
