Multicast problems

Hi all

I have esxi 5.1 running and I have 4 vm linux.

The esxi connect for Brocade switch. (Layer 3)

In this option, I have a lot of servers (not virtual).

My problem started when I check the multicast between the virtual machine to another server. It does not work.

* I check the multicast between 2 vm and his work.

* I check the multicast between 2 servers and it works.

I'm also of the pc connected to the Cisco switch (Layer 2) connect to Brocade.

Multicast of pc servers also run, but still once, VM is not working.

Maybe you have an idea?

Thank you all.

I think that solves the problem.

I connect host for layer 2 and after this multicast started working!

Thank you all

  • Cisco Multicast - problem of Cluster control point

    Hi all

Now I've been troubleshooting an issue where in my security team in which they are unable to form a cluster with two devices of control point. (internal interfaces E1 on both).

They told me that the cluster Protocol (CCP) uses multicast to form a cluster.

Two internal interfaces are connected to my core of the switches (FEX) which are two Nexus 5Ks, which I think has some limitations regarding multicast transmissions (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

From the online support literarure, I learned to know that disable the IGMP snooping on the switch Cisco Nexus Core is a workaround.

My query is, is there any special way from PRI? If I disable the IGMP snooping it will affect all other areas of my network?

    Thanks in advance.

I prefer to use IGMP snooping as planned, i.e. with an IGMP applicant if there is no Layer 3 interfaces with PIM.

  • Music of blocking (MOH) and multicast CUCM 8.5

    Hello guys!

Blocking music works very well when I disable multicast on media from the regions resources group (I currenlty have 4 configured regions) but when I activate the use multi-cast for the Audio of the Ministry of HEALTH (if at least one resource MOH multicast is available) option on each resource media, then between parts group works one-way MOH and vice versa (TOH) waiting. Multicast routing is enabled on all interfaces of routers and lass. You will appreciate any suggestion guys.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

++ Ok, when IP phoen in the site of manin places the call on hold with phone IP B remote site. What is the relationship of the region with phone IP B and Mozambican server.

++ If you use unicast MOH doesn't works for the same call flow?

+ What is the relationship region phone IP B / Server Mozambican, if it's something else that g711, can you check IPVMS service parameter is enabled for the respective codec.

++ Which is the number of conifgured of hops in the server of the Ministry of HEALTH?  If you think that it is less than the real hops between the default GW of IP phone B and CCM, increase.

++ And if nothing is done, we need to isolate if the problem is with the CCM or network (multicast problems), so do a test call, put call on hold/resume and get the detailed logs of the CCM and newspapers of IPVMS of the Callmanager to all nodes in the cluster.

The phone IP phone remotely B is there an Ip Communicator, if so (make sure to disable the optimize for BW) and check.

  • New addition ESXi host to vSAN, put in the new group of network Partition

Add a new R730xd from Dell to my cluster active vSAN (also all the Dell R730xds, same features), but when doing so, the new host is put into another group of network Partition.  Same configuration of the switch, the new host is plugged as that of others.  Can check the connectivity between each host (in addition, confirmed as much as I can ping to the interface vSAN between one of the four hosts), yet always says there is a communication error.  Any ideas?

Certainly a multicast problem, strongly recommend the reading of these:

I have Windows 7 laptop computers of switching and reclassification of LABVIEW, LABVIEW 2010 2009. One of the vi, I developed in 2009 works fine on the old laptop, but with the new laptop and LABVIEW 2010 the UDP Multicast open read-only block throws error 59: the network is down, unreachable, or has been reset. The entries in the UDP Multicast Open are multicast addr: "224.0.0.1" (converted to an IP address with a chain of blocked IP addresses: 3758096385) and port: 20103.

I can monitor the UDP traffic with wireshark and check that everything works correctly. I can even run the old system at the same time without any problem, but the new system gets error 59. I checked all network settings, including turning off the windows firewall.

Anyone know of any questions that I might have missed?

Try to build an EXE file of the machine running on the machine of 2010 and 2009.

If it works OK, then the problem on the side of the barrier LabVIEW, if it fails, then it's a Windows problem.

"Unreachable" almost always means a problem of installation of the system.

  • Problems WAG160Nv2 (find firmware, adres mac protection does not accept the multicast address)

    Hello

I can't find a page of support for my router (WAG160Nv2), and therefore, no way to get the latest firmware.

I couldn't save the product because he wasn't the availeble product list and there seems to be no way to communicate with any type of technical support.  So I hope someone can help out me.

Update the firmware of wel is probably nog is going to help me with my problem.

I currently use mac addresses to secure my wireless network.

Now, I bought a smartphone with WiFi but when I add its address to the list and try to save the day I get the error that the address cannot be a multicast address.  If anything I can do for my wlan accept my phone?

Wireless MAC address filtering is not a good way to protect your wireless network.

You can enable security wireless WPA/WPA2 on your network. Change the SSID. Disable wireless MAC filtering.

Try to connect to the new wireless network and see if it works.

Follow this link to download the firmware for WAG160N. Make sure you have the correct model number and version number of your router.

  • Detected incorrect configuration error - problem of multicast?

I saw a mistake 'Has detected a misconfiguration' after scoring in the Web client, select a cluster, the tab manage, settings, Virtual SAN subtab-> general.  He went after activating the traffic on the vmk0 VSAN management interface.  I found that by vSphere 6.0 Documentation Center, 'Network Misconfiguration in a Virtual SAN Cluster status' it was probably due to a bad configuration of the multicast.

I talked to my network admin, who made sure IGMP Snooping has been disabled, and I turned off VSAN, then again once and the error disappeared temporarily.  However, when you choose inside on a specific host a cluster, I still see "host cannot communicate with all other nodes in the active SAN virtual cluster.  The "Misconfiguration detected" error is returned.

1 is a multicast group must be configured to work?  I am referring to vSphere 6.0 Documentation Center, "Modes of filter Multicast", where it is said:

Filtering basic multicast mode a Standard switch or Distributed Switch vSphere vSphere transmits multicast traffic for virtual machines based on the destination MAC address, of the multicast group. When you join a multicast group, the guest operating system pushes the MAC address of the multicast group down to the network through the switch. The switch saves the mapping between the port and the destination multicast MAC address in a table of local transfer.

I guess that does not apply to the VLAN that I've dedicated to VSAN multicast traffic, where IGMP Snooping should be disabled?

2 cannot not set port 4095 to enable all the VLAN resources shared - is it necessary?

I thought that when you configure the network on the ESXi server, I thought I should specify 4095 to VLANS allow all trunking 802. 1 q VLAN through.

    As:

-the documentation I found only goes to 4094 and

-in the ESXi console, I entered 4095 to the VLAN ID (which failed),

is the VLAN ID of the management network is good?  Or could it be that traffic for that VLAN even get through on the server because of this?

3 here is what I understand VMware in terms of this error:

Cluster form--nodes will not be able to communicate - Has detected a misconfiguration

Option 1 -Disable IGMP Snooping = > allows to all the through the multicast traffic

Option 2 -Configure IGMP Snooping Interrogator = > if there is another multicast traffic and you fear that multicast traffic could flood network

I also had this link to what is required by the side of Cisco, but it does not (gives 404 error).  Can someone give instructions that work?

The IP address 127.0.0.1 is localhost. In other words, incoming 127.0.0.1 point to the computer you are on. https://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/localhost

It has nothing to do with the connection with servers on your local network.

  • BT Vision (UK IPTV / Internet)-+ Multicast Unicast on same port wired?

    Hello

I recently bought a Nighthawk R8000 to replace my BT Home Hub 4. Everything goes fine until I checked the BT Vision service I have. This box uses the internet standard and multicast for television services.

The problem I have is that I can only have one or the other work at any time. So if I set up IPTV to cable port 4 bridge mode I get TV multicast channels but lose the standard Internet features.

If I then disable bridge IPTV mode I get internet services normal but lose the multicast channels.

Is there a mode / setting etc. that supports two IPTV multicast and unicast traffic to the same cable port?

It feels like this should be possible, I'm not sure what method to achieve this.

    See you soon,.

    Wayne.

    Hi all

  • required firmware on cRIO for UDP Multicast

    Hello

I would like to run this excerpt on a cRIO system:

(open a port for the UDP multicast messages).

On a standard PC with Win7 that it works, I can send and receive messages without problem.

But on a cRIO, I get an error 54 ('bad network address'). Until the devil?

The cRIO is implemented with this software (LV2011SP1):

I want to reduce memory consumption, so chose not to install the recommended all packages.

I suspect that there is something missing. Is what part of the package?

I found a solution (or is a workaround solution?)...

Need wire entry "network address" Open UDP service. It seems that the cRIO does not know that it is the own IP address:

A correction more: you should only use "String to IP" on the cRIO. When used as indicated above, it gives error 54 on the PC! Arrrgghhh...

The following solution: put the StringToIP node within the ConditionalDiagramDisable structure already in use

    1. I have connected the GPIB_ENET/100 directly to the computer (eth1) with a crossover cable.

    2. as a result of gpibexplorer guests, I observed the PWR/RDY LED is orange flick so configured IP address/hostname as 192.168.1.2.

    3. then I clicked on the button 'search for GPIB-ENET/100', I had 'no device to display.

    4. I configured the IP address/host name as 'NIENET', which is the default hostname printed on the rear side of the unit and got the same result at step 3.

    5. one thing I need to mention is that I installed nienet-linux - 1.2 before and the ENET box didn't work with it either. I put

    192.168.1.2 NIENET gpib0

in the file/etc/hosts and I have deleted all the files of this facility.

    My questions are:

    1. in GPIB, will I set of Configuration IP address AND host name or IP OR hostname? If it is "OR", they must be linked in what file?

    2. "NIENET" is the default host name. How to change?

    3. What is the problem with my setup?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

    Weining

    Hi Weining,

to be able to set up a NEW ethernet device, it must be connected to eth0 - otherwise the GPIB Explorer won't be able to find it. Which is clearly described in the referenced article, and there is no work around for this need.

You can only configure devices on eth1 if they already have an assigned static IP address.

Then please follow the steps below (summary of the article that you and I already linked):

    (1) connect the new ENET/100 to eth0

    (2) open the GPIB Explorer, select "New Devce" and click on the "Search" button to find the box.

    (3) select the found device and change its IP settings to keep the network connection on eth1 and leave the Explorer GPIB

    (4) now unplug the eth0 device and connect it to eth1

    (5) restart the GPIB Explorer, choose 'New' and enter the static IP address you gave the ENET box.

    Best regards

    Sebastian

ERROR: Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For any additional help, click Help on the Web.

I get the error Windows Media Player 11.0.6001.7007.  "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For any additional help, click Help on the Web frequently. "What happens on the music or video files even those I had on my PC for a long time.  They work some days and other days they don't.  I have to reboot to clear it and it's really annoying. I can read a file and then 10 minutes later the same file will not play.  Sometimes after the error message, if I don't click Close, the video is not yet but the audio will not.

I'm on a laptop HP DV5 with vista 32-bit and 4 GB memory such that shipped HP (Yes, 4 concerts and 32-bit).

I don't know if it was related, but IE7 would continually fail to open, click on through the windows and should be completely closed.  essentially the WMV and IE are fails miserably on this laptop, and it was only 6 months old.  Firefox fixes my problem of browser.

How can I fix this WMV as I can't UN/reinstall with Vista?

I ran sfc/scannow after completion of the analysis, the results were that "windows resource protection finds corrupted but files could not solve some of them" gives then refers to where the cbs.log file is located. I tried to open the cbs log, and he says that access is denied.

UPDATE: there seems to be a conflict between WMP and any other application that opens which can play the video with sound.  When I close firefox, and then the videos and sound can play (these same questions happened on IE7 and firefox was installed just yesterday).  I met the same problem with more than Pinnacle video editing software.  Is it possible to change a parameter with WMP as there is no sharing violation during a different application can play the video?

SO thanks a lot!    I had to use the following steps to get your simple solution:

    1. Select Options under the button 'SYNC '.

    2. choose 'other Options '.

    3. click on the tab 'network '.

    4. only check box RTSP/TCP and HTTP and Multicast Streams allow the player Pourrecevoirun multicast stream (which meant I had to uncheck "RSTP/UDP"

    5. click on apply and take advantage of my windows media player.

    Thanks a lot wmd_user!

  • Problem with Instalation 900 SPA

    Hi all
I am about to install a new VOIP system in our offices.  We are only a small office, but reasonably busy and I only need three to five extensions.  I already have the material and I'm reasonably confident (famous last words!) by installing the system with a SIP line and connected to a normal telephone line for the downturn.  I'm NOT sure about a field.  Prime material

    SPA9000
    SPA3102
    962/942 SPA phones

OK now my desktop system consists of a server with SBS2003 with NIC TWO one for LAN and WAN cards.  Workstations and other elements are connected by ethernet to a D Link switch which is connected to the NIC1 and the NIC 2 connects to a telephone line Draytek router/ADSL broadband.  Internet access is of course provided to workstations using DHCP.  Everything works well at the present time.

Now that I do not understand is the SPA 9000 connectivity and the SPA3102 which has an FXO port to the telephone line.  As I don't have only one telephone line how to connect theat line to the router AND the SPA3102.

I hope that explains my question

    Thanks for any help

You will connect the WAN port on the SPA9000 to the switch and then together "Network Interface Proxy" WAN under the label to join automatically, in which case your SBS2003 has no problem handling of multicast SIP, IP of SPA phones. You must manually register the SPA3102 to the SPA9000, you set a proxy which is the IP address of the SPA9000, you can verify that proxy address by clicking on one of the IP phones that automatically, then you put a User ID user defined. You can test if it works by calling locally and User ID on one of the IP phones.
