multisite functionality: SX20 vs C40

Hi all

I get confused on the difference between the SX20 and C40 in terms of multisite functionality.

Is it true that C40 can manage several participants at the same time as the SX20 with the same infrastructure (MCU)?

And then I'm just the high definition SIP/H.323 MultiSite feature four lanes 1080 p 30 means that you can have a total 4 participants (including you) both with the quality of the 1080 p 30? If it is true then it is possible to have more participants with lower video quality?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

IJE

There is no difference between SX20 and C40 capabilites multisite; maximum number of participants is 1 + 3 (auto + 3 additional sites). This is so regardless of the resolution, non - you will not be able to increase the number of participants by lowering the resolution.

According to the data sheet multisite is incorporated into the sx20.

So I guess that you do not have to add this.

  • SX20, MX300 and Cisco C90 multisite functionality

    Hi all

Someone has information on how to Install Licenses Multisite L-C90-MS, LIC-MX300-MS and MS-SX20-LIC?  These is installed directly in the codec? what procedure?

    Thank you very much!!

    Mario,

This is the option buttons that you add directly to the codec. Just go to maintenance > upgrade and paste the option key pressed in the key field of the option. This usually requires a restart when completed.

  • SX20 multisite deployment

    Hello

I am looking for a design based on SX20 and telepresence SX10 solutiion provide a Multisite videoconferencing.

The architecture is based on a central site and two remote offices that is linked together via the VPN.

What are the requirements of hardware video telepresence to provide a multi-site / multi participating solution mixed with softphone SX20, SX10 and Cisco Jabber video?

    Cordially kinds.

    Hello

SX10, you deploy CUCM or VCS for call control.

For multisite call, you can use built-in multisite your SX20.

  • The differences Multisite and Multiway conference

    Hi all

Can you tell me what are the multi-site and multiway conferences? Also, what are the differences between these conferences?

Multi-site allows an end point to host a conference using a microcontroller embedded on the endpoint for a limited number of participants, usually not more than 3 depending on the type of endpoint and requires a key Multisite option on the endpoint, which is hosting the Conference, which allows you to use the embedded microcontroller and not every endpoint support the Multisite functionality.

Multiway allows you to climb a call to a call from point to point-to-multipoint call, endpoints and requires a VCS for climbing and MCU to host the Conference. You can learn more about Multiway of Multiway using Cisco TelePresence systems.

  • Need help with the command options of codec C40

Hello! I plan to buy a few codecs C40 and seller offers me to buy three options for this, but I can't find a description of these options. Seller is not so appropriate as I would like and these options cost a lot. They are here:

LIC-INTP-C40-DD Option of dual inclusive package C40
LIC-INTP-C40-SM IntPkg Codec C40, 4Way individual transcoding Multisite
    LIC-INTP-C40-PR IntPkg Codec C40Premium resolution (1080 p/720 p 60) Option

I found the document with similar options here (table 3), but there is also no description:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/prod/collateral/ps7060/ps11304/ps11312/ps11332/data_sheet_c78-628593_ps11422_Products_Data_Sheet.html

I think that these options it is me

one) to use two screens (only two or more?) with C40

    (b) serve as C40 MCU for up to four sites without going through any additional autonomous MCU

    (c) to use video FullHD for videocalls (but I'll buy cameras 1080 p for C40, I need licence also for C40?)

So, I would ask someone who is familiar with the command of Cisco/Tandberg to describe these options.

You are actually right on your assumptions and descriptions, you just pretty much what each of these options do listed.

    Dual display-

C40 has the ability to display the same video on both outputs by default, if you do not get this option.  This option is to display two separate video sources on two screens, such as: Farsite on output 1 and content/selfview on output 2.

    High resolution-

You might be buying cameras 1080 p but resolution premium will allow you to pass resolutions higher during a call.  You can still view the full HD video when not in a call although if you choose not to get this option.

  • Multisite deployment

Hello, I need to implement videoconference between sites using multisite (sx10, sx20, dx80 and jabber clients + spa300 ip phone) and I be6ks to this effect, do I need extra MCU in the MRLG or I can use internally sx20 MCU for this and if I use it, it should participate in the Conference in order to make this conference? any help or useful document for this case?

You can use the internal microcontroller in the SX20, however, it must be in the call that he will host. This means that you can have a maximum of 3 additional sites of the Conference; SX20 + 3 = 4.

If this is insufficient, Yes, you will need to an MCU, that you are deploying a premise, or use a hosted solution of cloud belongs to you. Depends on the intended use and the economy.

  • Profile C40 with VCS Starter Pack Expressway system

    Hello guys,.

Customer not want options like Firewall and the Conference (MCU 5300) crossing.

But as this is a small script (there around 2 profile C40 + 2 SX20 10 video Jabber), I found that it will be interesting using VCS Starter Pack Expressway. He's no more than 50 records or 25 route calls as shown in the data sheet 'support '.

I took a look at the topis here and also some documents and say that C40/SX20 are not supported for the supply, but since the SIP/h.323 support, calls should work perfectly.

No doubt: that the client will lose in terms of features or benefits without the support of this commissioning endpoints?

It would be a pain in the neck to enter the SX20 or C40 to VCS Starterpack expressway?

Olá Alan, respenderei em inglês para fica na don't base dados, mas design sao best respondidas send any video Business forum.

About your 3 points, depends on:

    (1) even if you deploy the TMS, endpoint will try to get the directory using HTTP/HTTPS connection. If the endpoints are outside / internet, it may be refused by security reasons.

    (2) you can always configure auth on the StarterPack VCS to auth against the local database. At the endpoints configured manually, you can enter the identification information.

    (3) you can configure the bandwidth on VC (subareas or pipes) configuration control or limit directly to each endpoint

The SX/MX/EX/C series can register the StarPack using a direct connection (h.323/SIP) or behind the FW/NAT using H.460.18/19 or assent. They can local Auth VCS DB. Be aware that the VCS S is usually installed in an external DMZ or directly with a public IP address. In this case, if you have 2 x SX to the internal network and the VCS at the DMZ (with NAT in the middle), all media will be hollow VCS, even if the two SX are on the same subnet.

PS: Be careful where to include the VCS. If you use NAT on the VCS, basic network license need double.

    It will be useful.

  • Advise on the edge 95

    Hello

I would like to learn more about Edge 95 especially on the part "4 videoconference and teleconference audio 3.

How does it work? It includes 4 video and audio 3 at the same time?

We have a client who asks for Edge 95

I am aware that it is already EOL and the replacement is SX20.

But the SX20 covers all the features of dashboard 95, such as the IRB and Connector (RCA, S-Video)

So I think of the SX20 / C40 + ISDN link. (Quick question: which is close to cutting-edge features 95, SX20 or C40?)

But I don't know about some of the audio conference. Please help on the audio portion.

    Need your advice on this

    Please notify

    Best regards

Yes, that's right - the multisite license allows you to have yourself + three other participants - you can have a total of 7 - unless you use a form any MCU.

The older edge MXP could do the full 7 (yourself and three others by video and audio 3 extra - as long as everything was in the throttling of 2304kbpds), but as you said, the Edge 95MXPs went to end of sale on May 14, 2013, so are no longer available.

  • API for SX10

    Hi all

We will check the status of the SX10 using its API, but unfortunately, we do have not any SX10.

Does anyone know if the parameter below works fine on the SX20 TC7.2?

(I guess that 'Multisite' may not be used, because the SX10 has no Multisite function)

    xStatus SystemUnit State system

Shows that the system is in State.

InCall: The system is in a call.
Initialization: The system is ready for use.
    Initialization: The system boot.
Multisite: The system is in a Multisite conference.
Number of beds: the system is in "sleep".

Space of the value of the returned result:

    Example:
    xStatus SystemUnit State system
    * s SystemUnit State system: initialized
    * end

    Kind regards

    Kotaro

    Hello

"Initialized" and "InCall" are there at least.

I don't know if 'Sleeping' will be returned. I have activate standby using the command line interface but xStatus SystemUnit State system still returned "Initialized".

I've also tested using TC 7.2.1.

  • MCU vs VCS

    Hello

IM pretty new to the Conference and I got confused on the following scenario:

I need to be a conference for 13 calls from the neighborhood of 13 other branches in full HD, now I need to deploy 5 monitors in the neighborhood and 2 monitors in each site.

    1. If I could see 5 full HD calls selected 4 branches as maximum, and a thumbnail view of active presence for the rest 10 called "like a small miniature screen" in the fifth form.

    2. I can view max for 2 full HD in each branch, which is the main player with someone else.

In my opinion for equipment would be as follows:

1 x C90 in the main office of DD, PR

13 x SX20 in every branch with DD, PR

    1xVCS in the main office

    1 x 5320 MCU

Whatever it takes? IM pretty confused now.

    Kind regards

The server all telepresence is to merge the calls in a conference - it is essentially a different type of MCU :)

Also note that while the C90 is able to 12Mbps full HD, it is when the C90 himself welcomes the call via its multisite functionality.  It can accommodate 3 or 4 calls at the same time in a conference, but you use not or need this feature if you have a MCU or TP server.

If I were you, my construction should look like this:

13 x MX200/MX300 (according to what screen size you wanted - it's the only real difference between the two)

    1 x Control VCS + 15 licenses non-traversal call

    1 telepresence Server 7010 + 12 x screen licenses

1 x SX80 + whatever screens/monitors you wanted, even if a MX700 may be a better choice (55 "double screens with built in codec)

1 x conductor of telepresence (free version).

Note that in this scenario, two of your endpoints to compose in 720 p, because 1 x display License = 1 call full HD or 2 x 720 p calls and the 7010 can only accommodate a maximum of 12 licenses of the screen.  The next top model can accommodate 48 but is much more expensive.

So, you would use driver + TP server to host all of your conferences, all of your points endpoint to register for VCS and deal in the Conference.

  • Licenses of telepresence

    Hi all

Hope this does not sound very stupid. What is the difference between the following license two of the Cisco telepresence room:

    (1) LIC-MX200-MS - MX200 G2 MultiSite Option

    (2) LIC-TP-SMP-EP - shared multi-party Lic for 1 session simultaneous Inc. 2 RMS license.

    Thanks in advance,

The Multisite option key is so you can use the feature embedded four-way Conference the MX200 G2, where you can connect up to three other participants without needing a dedicated as a server MCU/telepresence conference bridge.  You can learn more about the multisite functionality in the MX200 G2 data sheet.

Multiparty license shared for those who have the conductor and a telepresence server, licensed SMP can host a single conference with several participants up to the capacity of the telepresence server.  See the multiparty license - a-ice for more information.

  • Keys options in telepresence to cucm provisioning endpoints

    To your comment, please

I wonder if when plug you directly a point of termination in CUCM configuration mode, what happens with the installed option keys?, such as the double video option or the multisite functionality?  ... or all licenses are managed through the tool of CUCM licenses?

    Thank you.

Options keys will be installed, because they determine what are the characteristics of the endpoint is capable of. They will be also managed endpoint and not CUCM, everything like they are when endpoint is configured either standalone or using VCS.

  • SX80 - menu of the screen

In SX80, is there a way to get the menu screen on as we get it in SX20/C40/C90 during Setup by using the remote control.

SX80 has touchscreen and the details are only available in the touch panel.  No details appear on the screen.  We wish cisco touchscreen remote and use the touch screen of Creston.  Creston has programs that works easily with the menu on screen as SX20 codecs, C40 etc. and we use the same layout of page in the touchscreen to SX20 creston both SX80 codecs.  It is therefore necessary to get the menu screen on in SX80.  Is this possible.  Thanks in advance.

It is not possible because the SX80 is not intended to be used with a remote control, this is why there is no OSD menu, the only solutions are to use the touch 10 or the codec API.  Looking at the Crestron application market, they provide modules and affect the UI for the SX80 Panel that could be of some use to you.

  • Audio mixing MCU

    Hello!

This question is to check what I think I know.

    For our hypothetical conference, we have 10 participants (a 6000MXP, a SX20, 7 C40s and a participant audio only)

Call the 10 participants.  Their audio is mixed and sent to each participant under their own audio.

    Here's the question;

For each participant, the balance of the audio levels is exactly the same, except that their audio is removed from the composition of right?

For example, both the 6000MXP that the SX20 receive the same volume relative to the C40s and audio participant audio only. There is nothing in the MCU logic audio which increase or decrease the volume of the participant only audio differently for the 6000MXP than the SX20, right?

    Thank you!

    OK I get it now...

Yes, the relative level of the audio remains unchanged.

Now coming to your second question,.

MCU may or may not transcode the audio packets. Yes, every outgoing audio stream is collection of entirely new audio packages, now, the codec may stay the same or transcode gets according to SDP/Capsets trading.

Each participant (whether audio or video), individual countries are assigned, so that each participant will again coming out of the audio stream being MCU as a source.

    Hope this helps

    Kind regards

    Sagar
