My blackberry 9000 blackBerry smartphones is not recognize the lowercase 'i '.

I have a strange problem with my BB 9000, which began within the last week.

When I am text input in any area as the lowercase 'i' is displayed without the dot at the top, is having the effect of making the search for contacts etc very difficult..

For example, if I'm in the address book and then type it in the ' if ' says that there are no contacts.  I know that there is!  However, if I type in "IF" using capital letters I it works very well and finds all contacts with "If" at the beginning as you expect.

When I enter text in a message again box for this, do not put not the point above the i.

If I get an email manually address that includes a lowercase "i" I get a non distributable error return, with the 'i' replaced by a '? '.

I tried to change fonts, but this has no effect.  I also searched the kbase but not found anything.  Any suggestions gratefully received.

I had this problem, in my case the input language was incorrectly.

  • BlackBerry locked blackberry Smartphones does not recognize the password

Hi, I put a password to unlock my bb device. Three days ago a friend had the bb and tried to discover the password, he has tried 8 times. After that I tried to unlock the device by inserting the correct password but it doesn't recognize it. Now, I'm worried so lost all my data, casue I have not recently made a backup. I hope someone could help me I have a lot of data in it and I can't lose them. Whoever tried to unlock the device, said that after the 5th attempt, asked him to write a blackberry and now instead of asteriks appear as normal characters.
PS Sorry for the bad English, I'm Italian.

This right.  You must use the word blackberry to continue.  When you put the password again, it will appear as letters regular to avoid typos, etc.  Oonly you get 10 chances and the password is case-sensitive.  If the password has a number, remember to use the ALT key first.  I don't know if the number of password retries reset to 10 if do you a battery pull, but you can try.

  • Phone of blackBerry Smartphones does not recognize contacts

I downloaded my sim contacts on my pearl 9105, but if I get a text from one of them the phone does not recognize the number. Their name does not come to the top, only his number and it is difficult / impossible to remember dozens of phone numbers leaving me at a loss for who is still trying to contact me.

A way to solve this problem?

$ 1 million for any help thanks!

It could be one of the three solutions... Try these:
    1. make sure that you set your own code to the Dialer phone screen > Options > smart dialing.
Set your country Code in this format: "+ xx" where xx = country code. Some countries have two or three-digit country Codes. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.
    * In the United States, the value of this country as '+ 1' Code and place your code in the appropriate box (this normally the default setting in a new BB).

    2. in the same place, change the length of National number for the number of digits corresponding to your country (since some countries have less than 10 as that set by default in the BB). Check out the total numbers, less country code. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.
    * For example, some countries have a total number to 8 (more than 3 for the country code). You must enter '8 '.

    3. you probably have "Content Protection" located on your address book.
OS5 devices: look at the Options > Security > General settings. Scroll down to the content Protection > include addresses = no
OS6 devices: Home screen > Options > Security > encryption > uncheck encrypt.

  • BlackBerry 8310 smartphones DOES NOT RECOGNIZE the CARD 8 GB SANDISK

OK gang, not quite the same problem as everyone discussed.  I have a 8310 with ATT. on 4.2.2.170.  I just installed a Sandisk 8 Gb card that I bought and received yesterday.  I installed thinking it would immediately recognize 4 GB based on what I read in various expert comments and responses, but in the Media Manager, it seems not to recognize at all.  Cannot transfer images or files on him.  so, is that what I did something wrong?  My BB showed a message asking if I want to turn on the media card, and I answered YES.

Any help would be appreciated, as always!  Thanks in advance!

Do yu have a card reader for your PC that you can use to read the card?

If this is not the case, go to MEDIA CARD MENU KEY FORMAT OPTIONS.

If you have the possibility to use the PC.

Make sure you have the following folders on the card:

    BlackBerry

    music

    photos

    ringtones

    vidieos

    VoiceNotes

This is where the BB get the associated files.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not get the Desktop Manager to recognize the connection to the device

I tried for days now to get the Desktop Manager to recognize a connection on my phone so that I can sync my Outlook contacts and calendar.  So far, I deleted and reinstalled the Manager several times.  I downloaded and installed the driver package.  I tried to do a battery pull before connecting the phone.

Whenever I connect the phone Microsoft "new hardware found" Wizard opens and it recognizes the Blackberry device but it cannot complete the installation of the phone because apparently missing a driver.

I love the phone, but it is useless for me until and unless I can sync it with Outlook.  Any suggestions?

OK, I found and fixed the problem!  It had to do with the new Windows assistant material not being able to find the driver for the Blackberry device.  When I did the uninstall process part included saving the pilot atl.dll.  I assumed it was the driver that I needed to make things work.  I searched on the C: drive for the file, and when the new device Wizard came I pointed to the spot.  The Assistant began to load the driver.  He asked another file that is part of the Service Pack 2 of Windows and I searched and found this one as well and directed the Assistant for her.  It finishes loading and the device is connected.

The problem at the end of the day was that the wizard could not find the driver that he needed, even if it is there all the time.

Thank you for the help, it lead me to the solution I needed.

  • Mgr of office blackBerry Smartphones do not recognize my Outlook

I have Outlook 2000 that I used with my 8830.  Now I have the tour with the new version 5.0 of Bishop Office and is not at all recognize my Outlook.   I am about to install Outlook 2007 but would like some advice from this forum first.  Is it possible that I have a bad CD for Office Mgr?

    So my 2 questions are:

    Should I install Outlook 2007?

I could possibly have a problem with the CD of Mgr Desktop that accompanies the tour?

It drives me crazy because even though the store (Verizon) has managed to transfer all of my contacts, I can't sync anything because it does not find my Outlook.  VZ has never heard such a thing happens.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Anne

Let's see... How can I say this without throw themselves here for a bad language?   Install Outlook 2007 has been a bloody nightmare!  The software does not recognize my e-mail name, he made me run all over the computer trying to make changes and I tear my hair out me!  Fortunately for me, I have a friend who is in the high-tech industry, so I called her and she went on my machine remotely and fixed almost everything!  I say ALMOST, because this is that later that I realized that even if syncing seems go perfectly, much of my appointments do not transfer my BlackBerry to the Outlook/Desktop Mgr hostel.  She and I will have to face another time unless you have other ideas.   We did the synchronization in both directions so I have no idea what went wrong.

    Make sure that:

    (2) you have enabled the mass storage Mode:

    • KB11879 What is the mass storage mode

Are you able to see the memory of your device? With the foregoing duly filled, you should see drive extra two letters in Windows... one for the memory of the device and the other for a press card.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not open the eyebrows of internet

I ca not open internet or the accsess my Id eyebrows, always have an massage as my eyebrows is bloked

can not set up my new email or ID

Hello and welcome to the community!

Since little information, we unfortunately have to make assumptions... the content accurate and full of error messages is always more useful than a short short description.

So here's my proposal? Is there a COMPUTER policy on your device?

    • Article ID: KB30076 How to check for an it on a BlackBerry smartphone policy

Is there and you're on BES, then stop now and go talk to your BES admins... they control everything.

If there is and you are not on BES, then you need to clean your unit of the it policy:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

Be very attentive to provided warnings, particularly the fact that your device will be wiped clean in the process. You can find adequate instructions to backup via the link in my sig auto on this post. But, when you restore, do not full restore... restore instead, only those databases you requested (e.g., calendar, contacts, etc.) and more precisely to avoid restore and data bases that have nothing to do with politics, COMPUTING, business, or anything similar. If you restore the databases, the it policy will be conscientiously restored to your device, and you will be right back where you started.

If there is no COMPUTER policy, contact your mobile provider for formal support.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not open the downloaded applications

I have a blackberry 9360 and it's great, the only problem is that some applications don't download, same if I'll buy them and others will download but does not open "Phone Warrior will not work without the requested permissions" I accept all requested permissions, but it still does not... Can anyone help?

    Hello

If you've got reliable sources (e.g., BBWorld) apps and they are therefore particularly compatible with your device and the OS level, then it is possible that you have a policy COMPUTER on Board that is blocking them. Reference:

    • Article ID: KB30076 How to check for an it on a BlackBerry smartphone policy

If you indeed have a political TECHNOLOGY and are part of a BES and environment, then stop now and contact your BES admins for help... only they can tell you if what you're trying is against them.

If you have a COMPUTER policy and are not part of BES, then the question arises why the it policy exists on your device. In general, it's because you got 2nd hand device and the seller does not correctly clean it... refer:

    • Article ID: KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after the purchase of a used BlackBerry smartphone

But even without the seller, as long as they did everything in their section of the KB, you can always clean the device of the it policy. The process is to destroy everything, please first review the link in my sig auto on this post for a full and proper backup procedure to follow.

Once you have this full backup, to proceed with this:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

Thereafter, proceed to restore your applications and data, but DO NOT make a full restore... instead, only a selective restore of the databases you really need (e.g., contacts, calendar, etc.) and specifically avoid restore databases that have nothing to do with politics, COMPUTING, business , or anything similar - if restore you those, he will dutifully restore it on your device policy, and you will be right back where you started.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not return the book to e-mail service

I deleted the CMIME maintenance for my yahoo email account book, because I wanted to create my yahoo again email account. Now I can't get the service book return because my mobile operator does not support the Blackberry more and when I try to send again directly from my camera, it does not work... I guess because I don't have a set yet, email account which I can't seem to be able to be implemented without this service CMIME book. It feels a bit like the issue of ' chickens and eggs ", necessarily should I this book of CMIME email service on my first device until I can set up my yahoo email account (if so, how can I w/o a mobile operator is able to send it) or do I need an account already set up email to send service book of CMIME email directly from my camera? Thanks in advance, I appreciate your help. Cheers, Jens

    Hello

With a legacy of BB device, you must be on a medium that supports full BIS. Without BIS, it has none of the owners BB services available, which includes the management of e-mail. Inherited from BB devices do not have a complete email client on board... they need of BIS (hosted at the carrier) in order for the email function.

So, sad to say, but your efforts are useless, unless you change to a carrier who will provide your device BIS.

    Good luck!
