    Hello

19 code means there is a driver conflict such as two devices attempt to use the same resources.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack.

Normally the above will solve this problem otherwise working your way down through them, even if you did
    them before.

    Hello

  • DVD drive has disappeared from my computer and Device Manager lists

The machine is an Acer laptop with a single disc DVD - RW Win Vista Home Premium 32 running with all the latest updates installed.

I have not installed anything new (software or hardware), I know.

The other day the player just stopped working and is no longer registered to each workstation or in the Device Manager list.

While they inspected the system event logs there is a chain of...

Event 7026 - the next (s) starting or starting system could not load:

    CDROM

    and...

Event 11 atapi - driver detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort2.

Event 9 atapi - the device, \Device\Ide\IdePort0, did not within the time limit.

Event 11 atapi - driver has detected an error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0 controller.

I know that the drive itself works well because when I initially turn on the laptop I can hear the drive spin upward and I'm able to eject the drawer, so there the power etc... but once in Windows the drive does not work or even appear anywhere.

    So far, I have tried.

    1. detection of new hardware in Device Manager

2 - installing all IDE channels and let the system reinstall after re-booting

3 running the Microsoft Fixit tool, it seems to point out that there is a problem and said fixed it, but nothing is actually fixed by that

I noticed a few other posts which look similar to mine, but had trouble understanding if they truly are or not.  So apologies if this is a repeat of something already posted.

OK tried the fixit tool still once, was not aware there were different tools for different issues.  I have the wrong tool launches the first time round.

Anyway, the drive is still on holiday somewhere, fixit tool reports that it may not detect the drive at all, so that seems to indicate that he does not drive connected.

Is it possible that the IDE cable has come off the promenade inside the laptop?  I hope that not because I just spent the last couple of hours trying to figure how to get to where the Player connects, but seems almost impossible... can get to all the rest, keyboard and screen disconnected, RAM, disk HARD etc, but the DVD player, not a hope!

Looks like I'll take it to a service somewhere I guess.

These LPM registry settings are added to both the RAID Intel® Matrix Storage Manager driver on the installation Windows Vista, as well as for all the added drivers disc during installation.

Serial ATA desktop devices such as hard drives and CD/DVD drives have been reported that do not comply with the specification Serial ATA LPM and display erratic behavior when LPM is enabled.

Because changing the configuration means that LPM is enabled by default for all Windows Vista platforms, using a device that does not completely respect the specifications may cause one of the problems listed. »

I'm at Version 8.6 Intel Matrix Storage console well beyond the recommended version to solve this problem.

Other research indicates that a registery hack is needed to solve this problem because the Intel driver is not yet certified (?).  The question is why a laptop power management setting is defined in a desktop computer.  It seems that these registry settings cause the hangs and the loss of the DVD player.  See http://derek858.blogspot.com/2009/01/windows-7-intel-sataahci-lockups.html

The registry entries are for all ports are: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\iaStor\Parameters\Portx] "LPMDSTATE" = DWORD: 00000001 must be zero.  I have not yet tried it.

    Chris,

Yes, the problem has not reoccured since the installation of the latest Intel Matrix Console now known as Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) v9.6.0.1014.  I ran for ten days with the plague of your Player DVD which disappears and the EventID 9 [qualification] 49156 log records.  It seems to identify iastor.sys with this version of the code as the fixer of the problem and the culprit in earlier versions.  I don't see anything on the Intel site that explains the difficulty.  One would think that they could speak and help those who have the same problem.

    Thanks to all who helped.

  • CD/DVD Drive just magically disappears... Assistance requested please

    Hello

I was wondering if someone could help me please. The CD/DVD drive has disappeared as if by magic from 'My computer' on my g6 Pavilion (just as I was in the need to burn on a CD wedding music ). So I checked the Device Manager to see what is the problem and the disc was marked with an (!) and the following comment... "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)'

I tried to use HP support. I tried to update the drivers (it is said that he got the latest driver). I tried using Microsoft support and utility 'Fix', which suggests to unplug the drive - I'm not quite techno to disassemble my laptop. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drive in Device Manager - this does not resolve the error even if the player reappeared again in the device with the same conflict Manager. I tried manually looking for the driver 'hp DVD-RAM UJ8B1' and have met nothing but third-party driver software to be installed first (something I don't do unknown sources). So now I'm at a loss what to try next.

I would appreciate a lot of clues, tips or troubleshooting of all the people out there who think that they could offer me some advice please.

    See you soon,.

    Deplus

    Hi Sandra,.

    Try the following.

Shut down the laptop.  Here tap f8 as soon as you press the power button to start the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Disable driver signature enforcement" and press ENTER.

When windows is loaded, the optical drive now shows under "computer"?

    Kind regards

DVD drive icon disappeared from the Device Manager and my computer. I m using window 7. How can I get it back.

    Ashwani Hello,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Community.

There are various reasons why a CD or DVD drive may not be detected. I would like to ask all of the steps in the Microsoft Article describes a troubleshooting and check if they help to resolve the issue.

Your CD-ROM or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows or other programs

    Note:

Before editing a registry key or subkey, we recommend that you export, or make a backup copy of the key or the subkey. You can save the backup copy to a location that you specify, for example, a folder on your hard drive or a removable storage device. If you make changes that you want to cancel, you can import the backup copy. For more information about backing up the registry, please see the link below.

How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

Hope that advice is useful. Let us know the State of the question, so that we can guide you further.

    Satellite L100 - 170 No.PSLA3E model 02501QEN under Win XP.

The icon of the CD/DVD drive has disappeared from the desktop and is not listed in the Device Manager or showing in the BIOS.
There is power to the drive and the tray ejects OK
I tried to use the ease of adding new hardware in the Control Panel, but it does not list a CD player.
I removed the disc and then re - it sitting, but it made no difference.

I used the restoration of the system for the last available date 26 January 08, but it does not restore the CD player... and I have none, he worked at that time.
I don't think it's a faulty drive, because he is picking up power and when you insert a CD, it starts as if she was about to read the disc, but nothing appears on the screen.

The laptop belongs to a child with autism and all I can get out he is "I don't know" when asked what happened to the laptop.
Sorry I don't have any other information.

    Can anyone help.

    Thank you

Well, usually if the CD/DVD drive doesn t appear in the BIOS or BIOS cannot recognize the ODD then chances are that the CD/DVD drive is malfunctioning.

But the best way to check this is a new installation of the OS. You should try to boot from a bootable XP CD.
If the laptop would be able to boot from the CD, then the material is ok.
