To allow someone to help you, you must provide additional information.

    For example:

-How and when it crash (i.e. it just do not start, or the game starts and then crashes to the desktop, etc.).

-Are there exact error messages or error codes?

-What are the specifications/brand/model of your PC (RAM/CPU/GPU, etc.)

If the game is designed for an earlier version of Windows (e.g. Windows XP) have you tried compatibility mode to see if it works OK. Or try to install the game via this mode as well.

    Hello Tracey,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have problems playing videos in Windows 7 computer.

But I would like to know more information about this problem to help you better.

In the meantime, please try to follow the following suggestions to solve the problem.

Method 1: I first suggest you perform a clean boot and see if the problem occurs in the clean boot state because, put your boot system allows to identify whether third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: See "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" under more information to prepare the computer to start as usual after a repair.

Method 2: Check Event Viewer for error messages that are associated with this program. Event Viewer is a tool that displays detailed information about the events important (for example, programs that don't start as expected or updates are downloaded automatically) on your computer. The event viewer can be useful when troubleshooting problems and errors with Windows and other programs. Open the link and follow the instructions to get the event logs, so that we can see which application is defective.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Computer freezes completely during the game

    Hello

I always noticed when you try to run a computer games that my computer going for a reason completely freeze. I noticed this happen on Age of Empires III and Dawn of War II and also it happened on World of Warcraft. This is exactly what is happening:

When I start the game (Dawn of War II for example) - it will take care of apparently very well, but then when I start trying to do things (until I connect even on and all the campaign mode) computer freezing suddenly completely, even if I'm still able to move the mouse, I'm unable to click on anything whatsoever or even escape on my desk which leads me to the conclusion that maybe my computer entire freezes and not just the game it's self. Sometimes, however, the sound of music from the game freezes as suddenly and will loop the sound and then then the computer hangs while the game is running, however most often, the computer freezes and the sound at the same time. I'm honestly at a loss on how to solve this problem and I bought Dawn of War II, anxious to play, to do then. I am extremely frustrated.

Here are some features of the computer:

Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit)
    Service Pack 2
AMD Athlon (TM) 8450 Triple-Core processor 2.10 GHz
    3G RAM
    Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 8200
    Chipset: GeForce 9200

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hello Joshuarrr,

    Thanks for the reply.

Ideally, updates do not cause the version of the driver to change on your computer. If the driver updates are change the version of your video card, then the problem could be related to NVidia and I suggest that you contact NVidia support in this regard. Here is a link I found his support page:

    https://store.nvidia.com/DRHM/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayContactFormPage&siteid=NVIDIA&locale=en_US&env=base

    I hope this information helps.

  • My computer freezes when I start reading CrossFire!

    Dear Sir/Madam
Can you please recommend an anti freeze program or tell me what to do to stop my game freeze?
    Yours sincerely

    Hi ZakB

The game may freeze because you might be running out of disk space hard od or RAM installed on your computer is not enough to play the game. Try to increase the RAM of your computer.

You can use the new feature in Windows Vista "ReadyBoost" to improve the performance of your computer, which therefore will allow you to play the game without freezing.

For online games, you can try to install the latest version of the flash player
    http://get.Adobe.com/flashplayer/

    ==========================================================================================================================

Windows ReadyBoost can use storage space on some devices of removable media, such as USB flash drives, speed up your computer. When you insert a device with this capability, the AutoPlay dialog box will offer you the option to speed up your system using Windows ReadyBoost. If you select this option, you can then choose how much memory to use for this purpose. However, there are some situations where you will not be able to use all of the memory on your storage device to speed up your computer.

Some bus universal series (USB) storage devices contain both slow and fast flash memory, and Windows can only use fast flash memory to speed up your computer. So if your device contains slow and fast memory, remember that you can only use the fast memory portion for this purpose.

The amount of memory to use for ReadyBoost acceleration recommended is one to three times the amount of RAM (RAM) installed on your computer. For example, if your computer has 512 megabytes (MB) of RAM and you plug in a 4 gigabyte (GB) USB flash drive, setting aside from 512 MB to 1.5 GB of that drive will offer the best performance gain.

  • How can I stop my computer freezes during disk defragment?

When you try to run Disk Defragmenter, my pc freezes when defragmentation is 3%, on the c:\windows\system32\wucltui.dll.MUI file. I downloaded the software Microsoft Fix It, which stopped the computer freezes during the compression of the files old during a cleaning of the drive ("compress old files" isn't even an option more when you do a disk cleanup). The problem was significantly higher than earlier, gel when there are too many programs running. I did a lot of work on it, trying to return to normal, and although he is capable of multi - load again once, I still can't free space with the Disk Defrag. I tried almost everything... boot in safe mode and the closure of all firewalls and updates, I tried to disable restoring the system and running defragmentation again. I ran 'chkdsk' nothing works. I downloaded the registry cleaners, cleaned manually files unnecessary and much more. I don't know what more can be done, but I need the defrag to work. PLEASE HELP ME!

I just discovered this problem on my HP Compaq husbands, don't know where it comes from! When I analyse it says there is no need to be defraged, and I'm not about to reinstall XP! He has 65% of free space, the only thing it's really about that is to play poker on NLOP and watching junk sports! NLOP works with microphone$ .net framework and they have just updated their site, could it have caused the problem?

Can someone please provide a better answer?

I just lost my entire C: drive on my desk and had to take, now it's and drive E:! Something to do with "XP Media Center Edition" that he made, personally I think it's inept technology who didn't know what he was doing because he forgot to install my Audio drivers and he's happy that I had saved some files is from another, so I installed them myself! Mine is a Dell.

What would cause this happens in the first place?

    EDIT:

    Just did
Chkdsk, I did some reading more and it worked, I now switched to this place so far!

  • computer freeze when you try to watch a video stream (only) from any Web site

When I try to watch streaming video, my computer freezes, the screen goes black. It will start to play the video to say about... maybe 30 seconds. The computer screen will sweep for a fraction of a second and that's it. It crashes, the screen goes black, it makes that sound you get when the computer crashes. So I have to do a hard reboot to take control of the computer again. I've only had this computer for about 120 days, did not buy good warranty for the software and now I'm stuck.

  • Computer freezes and makes strange noises during playback of videos

    Hello

As of late my computer was irritating me.

When I go to play videos, or sometimes when I listen to music, the computer screen everything will freeze and (sometimes) it sounds like something of a transformer movie.

The first freeze upwards, it usually comes out of it on his own. But a freeze on second or third place, I have to force the computer to shut down.

I noticed it only freezes up when I play games on my computer. Games on the internet [like on Facebook] can make freeze however.

Usually he never appears with an error, so I can't provide any help out there. When this all started upwards, it was a pop up on the display driver to have to restart itself (or something of the sort). But I saw only once and have not yet see it again.

It's my laptop Asus U50F-RBBAG05 who works in Windows 7. All of my software like Java and others are updated, to my knowledge.

It is, possible solutions? Or explanations? Or my computer went "off the deep end" and I might have to consider getting a new? :(

[Not quite sure that this issue falls under the topic sorry in advance.]

    Hello

    1. did you of recent changes to the computer?

    2. you're talking about music or videos online or you're talking about for videos and music stored on the hard drive?

Step 1: first of all I suggest you to update the video card and display drivers for manufacturing sites.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

Step 2: Put the computer to boot and see if the problem still occurs
Activate the clean boot, refer to step 1 in the link below:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.
Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.
Note: after find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software
ATTENTION:-do not forget to put the computer to a normal startup followed step 7 in the link.
Step 3: Check the logs in Event Viewer on the computer crash and let me know
    Open event viewer
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/open-Event-Viewer

What are the information in event logs? (Event Viewer)
