My computer makes a whistling noise when turned on

When I turn on my netbook starts to whistle, this sound comes and goes

Could check you if the noise comes from:

  1. Your speakers
  2. The internal components of your computer

As stated by SpiritX, it is more than likely to be the fan, but it is good to check the source of the noise.
If you have any doubt about the noise coming from your speakers, you should get your netbook checked by a certified computer technician or the store where you got the computer.
If your fan stops, the whole of your computer could degrade. It is urgent.
Kind regards

My exhaust fan makes a clunky noise when it runs. I hear it's going along and round like a noise of rachetty and then at other times its fine.

Someone at - he had this?
Should I open and give it a clean?

    Hello

It's not easy to tell if the fan is malfunctioning or not.
Qosmio G20 is a laptop very powerful and cooling modules are larger and stronger as modules on any of cooling for powerful laptop.
If you use the solid performance applications such as games or videos of the cooling modules will work with maximum performance and are stronger.

But of course; the cooling module could malfunction. In this case, it must be replaced.

That looks like someone trying to sound like they know what they're talking about, but in fact having no idea, but assuming you less than even that they will do - which gives the illusion that they know more.

What is the computer make & model?

You have picked up the machine, bought some canned / air compressed to clean electronics, has opened the computer (in the case of office) and blew the fans/bown case?  (You must blow out the vents of admission / a laptop computer in a similar way.)

Seems to me a dirty system and/or a faulty fan.

My computer makes a clicking noise at random - in the diagnosis of the Apple what is the meaning of error 4HDD/30 / 40000005:SATA (0,0) Please?

    Several clues:

    1. HARD and SATA drive in the message... On the way SATA HARD drive
    2. Clicking noise, which is an early signal of imminent death for HARD drive (there are only two types of readers... those who died and those who will be)

I would like to start keep good clones (CarbonCopyClone, bombich.com, $40) for external drives or backups Time Machine.  Any backup of the drive, not just your favorite parts.  Perform backups on a schedule without fail IMHO.

You can also start to consider a SSD at macsales.com (their mercury collection is highly recommended) or a new HARD disk, at least start planning if the SSD cost is worth the benefit of speed on the HARD drive.  You can buy it later.

Just my paranoid approach to this situation.

Have you ever tried to force reboot the phone by holding down the button sleep and home for 10 seconds, until the call logo comes back again? You won't lose data, but it can cure a few glitches.

  • HP Photosmart C4680 printer help - makes noise when turned on?

    Hello

I searched all day for a solution on my NEW out of the box (HP Photosmart C4680) printer.  I decided to use the scan option, so I opened the box and everything out of the box, remove all packing materials and tape, paper, etc.  Now, I plug the power supply cable (not USB), the printer does beep and a beep will sound and the screen comes on and power off.  It's just a blue screen that displays the logo of hp--(tours noir/arrêt et en arrière, encore et encore).  When I hold down the POWER button for 10 seconds, it turns off the printer (and the beep).  Turn it back on it does again ringing for about a half hour.  Then he turns to the language screen if he wants to, but the touchscreen works even not at all to select or scroll through the list.  And then if I open the door of the cartridge, the cradle only slips when he wants to and not all the time (certainly not when it beeps at startup pointing upwards).

I tried to install the software in the hope that it might help.  But after hanging the printer usb cable once all the software has been installed, it is said that it recognizes not the printer or it is not be able to communicate with him.

It is out of warranty.  Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

  • Printer Photosmart HP2510 makes noise when turned on and never seems to turn really turn on.

It seems as if it's endless stuck to some friendly tour on the loop.  Unplugging and plugging in the power doesn't affect him.  Every time I turn it on again it pick up where it left off: "bzz bzz bzz bzz bzz bzz Chunk, Chunk" constantly until unpluggrd.

I have a little more information to help? The printer is connected directly to a wall outlet? Have you tried the printer on another take? Is there a power module, the power cord where you can cut and separate the power cord in two pieces? If there is a power supply module, is there a light on the module that is lit? If so, look at the solution three in this document. It will guide you through a hard reset which also illustrates to break the power cord and it plug back into the reset process. something, the color is good

I tried to clean the rollers as you told me.  When I turned the printer on again, the fort by clicking noise was gone.  I can't believe that solved the problem.

But when I tried to print a greeting card, color before had lines through it, as it does when the ink is getting low.

I just put a new cartridge, so I knew it wasn't ink.  I was told to remove the ink cartridge & then put

  • M601: Manufacturing of Laserjet M601 clicking noise when printing

I have a laserjet M601, which has just started to make a rattling noise when it prints.  Looks like it is close to the top right corner before somewhere under the screen.  It snaps when a page is caught to start printing.  I hear a 3-5 clicks when the paper is caught, then it stops for the rest of the page.  If multiple pages print, click before the beginning of each page to be printed.  All other prints are normal.  The print job ends very well and all is well.  I only hear it clicking now and it seems to be deteriorating.  Thoughts?  Thank you.

    Hello

I have some further thoughts on this. Are you sure that the manual tray loading produces noise? They use different pickup assemblies. If we have confirmed both tray 2 and Tray 1 (manual feed tray) produce the same noise that we have to look at what they have in common. Toner, transfer roller, editing of the main landing gear, & fuser.

What type of toner cartridge do you use? If possible can you exchange with others and print a test page? If the problem persists, what is the number of pages on the printer? Have you recently replaced a maintanece kit?

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer recently?
    2. do you have any security software installed on the computer?
    3. When you hear noise, CD/DVD light flashes on tour that is CPU?

If there is no disk in the CD/DVD drive and this problem occurs, this means that some programs/programs is / are using lots of system resources. There is a possibility of virus running on the computer and also due to errors on the hard drive.

It is recommended that you first scan the computer for viruses and check if the problem persists. To scan a complete service, visit the following link: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

If the problem persists, run the check disk on the hard disk. To do this, follow these steps.
    1. Click Start, type cmd, right-click on cmd, and then click Run as administrator.
    2. type chkdsk /f /r and press ENTER.

For more information about the disk check, see this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

If the problem persists, then follow all the steps mentioned in this article to discover the culprit who raises this question: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

NOTE: Be sure to follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual.

  • Computer makes strange noises? 3

    Hello, I have a HP Pavilion, model s3842uk. n___n;

My computer because of the weird noises when I start it, it's like a semi - quiet, but still discernible "squeaking"? I did some research into this because that my mind was going into overdrive thinking that my pc is dying (that's my baby in terms of playing games like WoW, L4D2, Sims 3, Fallout New Vegas, etc. with brio) so I'd really like to know if anyone can help me.

Some have suggested that it is the CPU fan or another fan, and maybe it's because I'm not sure how to open my case. I really want to play with my system in case I damage anything (I'm a super awkward age 16 years). xD

So, it is more than likely due to an accumulation of dust right? I think I had this PC for over a year so the poor thing probably got a lot of dust in there, but I'm still a bit "eh" of everything.

So, if anyone of you, it professionals are ready to help me, I would appreciate it.

If I do not need to open the case so I will need to ask a friend of the family who is a technician, he can do it for me because I'm desperate. xD

Hello LishaFTW, sorry to hear your system does not work as it should.

Some HP and Dell systems, do a 'noise' stronger during the first start for a few seconds. This noise is from fans until the mother could take control of the fan speed. It is a normal phenomenon, but only if it just last for several seconds.

A bad business, and/or components can cause a State of overheating, even on newer systems, especially if they have been used when on the ground instead of a desktop computer.

Here a link to the HP site that shows how to do to remove the control panel of the case. You can then clean the inside of the casing and components, paying special attention to the area of heatsink / CPU fan.

Make sure you do not move or damage the components.

You can use compressed canned air to blow the dust/dust of the system and the heatsink / CPU fan. Do not allow the processor or another fan to turn when you use compressed air, as this may cause damage to the fan.

I suggest take the system from the outside of the building to clean dust/dirt, since when the compressed air is applied, there is a bit of it in the room.

When completely cleaned, just reinstall Control Panel case and start the system and see if the problem has been resolved.

If not, you may leave the case Panel and start the system and try and determine source noise, making sure not to touch anything inside the case. I'd look for any fan noise that seems to be another noise that all movement of the air, like a bearing bad grinding, or rubbing sound.

    I hope this helps.

  • Noise when using computer

Suddenly, when I use my computer to get on the internet, I hear a thud. It happened once before, but suddenly disappeared. I wonder if the fan may be bad. Any ideas on what is the cause? The only other time that I hear it is when my computer is near the end of the scan of Norton fuul. This was bought in 2009 is therefore an old computer.

PS Now I don't hear the noise, but most of the time I hear the sound when you go to different Web sites.

I tried your suggestion yesterday and by changing the diet plan of the balanced or recommended energy saving plan has worked. I don't hear any noise now.  The performance for power management is not as good as it takes more time to load web pages, but I prefer this to the noise. He said beside the plan of standby power energy savings is rated with a 5 and the performance is rated a 2, while balanced or recommended plan has energy savings, a 3 and performance 3.

I've always kept it on the recommended plan, which I think is the plan by default as it was defined like this when I bought my computer.

Out of curiosity, why is she become necessary now that I change for energy savings?  I have that noise when I got to my computer. Is this because the computer is older?

The information that you sent me has also stated the following:

Some parameters to cause fans to turn too fast for a typical home environment. If you use the computer in an environment quiet where temperatures remain mild and stable (up to and 30 degrees Celsius or 86 degrees fahrenheit), and then follow these steps to adjust the power settings in a more appropriate setting:

Do you know why the environment calm and temperatures are a factor?

I waited until today to answer that I wanted to test it for another day. I also put it to (balanced) recommended plan and the noise comes back then I then changed once again to the energy saver and it will keep on saving.

    Thanks for your help.
