My Ethernet keeps connection fall

I have a Windows 7 HP ENVY 6 Notebook PC and when I am connected via cable Ethernet my internet randomly abandoned.  When troubleshooting it says my default gateway is unavailable. I tried the thing were you go to cmd and type ipconfig/all, ipconfig/release then ipconfig / renew, but then I get a message saying that my media is disconnected. This does not work when I am connected to wifi.

I also have problems when I pass the wired connection to wifi. It connects to the wifi until I have troubleshoot and it solves the problem. I do not have a router. I am connected to my internet schools. When I'm in my dorm room, I have to connect via Ethernet cable, that connects to an Ethernet port in the wall.
My system is completely up to date, so it can't be the issue.

    Hi Ken once again,

I'm sorry, I'm always clear that this question can reanswer again? Is not wired and not the RJ-45 connection.

What type of internet connection they call when you connect to the internet using a * connection cable *?

I'll try again and hope that you understand this time.
You connect to the internet via a modem, * not * a cable of any kind.
The modem connects to the internet in several ways; both
the most common ways are by using an RJ-11 cable (it is a standard phone
cable and is used for dial-up or DSL) or a cable TELEVISION cable
(it's just like the one you use to connect your TV if
"you have cable). This internet connection as the modem
connects to is usually a wall outlet.

You must connect to your modem. If you are the only computer on
your site to connect to the internet, you can connect directly to the
    modem.
If you have two or more computers that connect to the internet, they
normally connect to a router and the modem is connected on the
router (but with some routers, the modem is built in it, so a
separate modem should not be connected). Normally, you connect to
the modem/router using an ethernet (RJ-45) cable.

Here is therefore a raw image of a default installation (the dotted lines are
    cables):

    Computer 1-------.
    \
    \---
Router - Modem - Internet (DSL, dial-up, cable TV)
    Computer 2-
Note that the lines (cables) on both computers to the router are
RJ-45, but they are generally * not * the internet connection and they
are not, which makes the internet more quickly or more slowly. The internet
connection is the last dotted on the right line. From
the Modem to DSL, dial-up, or TELEVISION outlet cable (usually a wall)
socket) is the internet connection, and is the type of cable, it is
any form of internet service you have (and what outlet
"you have to the internet connection).

Recently changed ISPS and new router - everything works after passage eventually got, but today manage. I finally got my laptop and printer to recognize each other and my printer/Office for work, but not at the same time. If I plug the ethernet cable into the printer, he abandoned the wireless connection, but if I try to restore the wireless, it is said that it will not work because there is an installed cable. It works fine since I bought it a few months ago, but now it won't.

BTW, I just sense enough to be dangerous, so you explain too much computer.

OK, here are a few ideas:

    1. you must keep your firewall is enabled during installation of the software.  The installer will open ports in the firewall in this way.  If it is disabled, it cannot open ports.

    2. are you sure that your laptop is connected to YOUR wireless network and not a neighbor?

Just got an Ipad 12,9 pro (wifi and cellular) 128Gb

Implementation was easy and the wifi worked well. Then I turned the ipad pro turned off.

the next time I turned it on, wifi was off the road, I turned it on and it connected to my router, for about 1 min, continued to do this, so I checked the internet to see a certain to have this problem.

I followed the ideas to solve including ensuring that the switch to cell was turned off and reset my network settings.

Hey Presto! wifi then kept connected for hours, then I turned off the Ipad Pro.

the next time I booted up... Same problem, wifi does not stay on.

There is probably an Apple solution for this, or do I have to keep resetting my network connections every time I use it? my air Ipad, ipad 2 and all the other wifi enabled home devices have no problem with the router

If so, it's pants, a so-called society better than Microsoft for problems.

Please help me solve this problem! What can I do to stop falling out wifi while it sits on the glass desk? All responses are much appreciated thanks!

    Hi Chan

I m very surprised after reading your interesting ad. To be honest, I use Toshiba laptops for a long time now and I ve never used on glass desk so I don't have any experience with this issue and I also think that you are the first person that relates to this topic.

It's a really new and very interesting information. I m really interested on this thread and I would like to hear more of other people who use the glass desk.
What to do about it? Simple question, but I fear none of us can give you good advice on this topic m.

OK it's a nothing with your question, but if you use it on the desktop you can use the connection to the LAN? I mean that if you may have a kind of Home Office you must connect using the connection to the local network. I do though that the WLAN router is active.

  • Satellite P750 - no ethernet cable connection

    I have a Satellite P750 running on Windows 7.
When I plug the ethernet cable, I have no connection.
The same cable works fine on other PCs.
The network is set to obtain an IP address automatically. The network connection uses RealTek PCIe GBE family Controller and diagnostics say that this works normally.

I don't know what else to check or try to get this connection work.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Are you using the original operating system that you got with your laptop?
When you check the NIC in Device Manager is installed and registered properly card?
When you connect the LAN cable to the LAN port are yellow and light green assets?

Currently using my second Pavilion, with the cable is connected, and the light on the port is light.

The problem would be with the connection/WiFi wireless card? This card Realtek manages cables and wireless?

    Hey @dwflo,

    Please use the forums.

Sounds to me like the port has been disconnected somehow, as it should be a combo wireless connection/WiFi card as you requested.  You can check to make sure that the port is still connected properly, however it is likely that it will need to be replaced.

  • Android / USB devices keep connection / disconnection on R7

My daughter has an R7, and she meets a weird problem with the USB ports on this topic.

No android device can stay connected. As soon as you plug it in, it makes the sound connection then the disconnection and keeps cycling between the connection and disconnection.

He is not related to the device as I've tried two different phones and tablet with cables, all work fine on other computers. And I tried on three available laptop USB ports, all the same behavior.

Research online I found a lot of people with similar issues for the most outstanding. I disable USB suspend option in power with no result options, but also to uninstall all the USB hub so that they would be resettled at the time of starting and installed all updates of windows as an option.

She also knows another question on its USB ports, we have a Samsung slim external DVD player that uses a USB data and power Y cable which works also very well on any other machine. On its R7, during playback of a video, the video continues making blocks at regular intervals as something prevents the full stream. You wonder if this is related.

Apart from that, mouse USB, USB keys or external USB drives seem to work fine.

Anyone with a similar problem and a definitive solution?

Thank you, but I seem to have found a solution to both these questions.

    (1) regarding the android devices that kept to disconnect and reconnect, after reading the thread below

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/2900614

I checked the registry keys were present on the surface my wife pro3 for

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\VID_XXXX & PID_XXXX\YYYY\Device parameters

and found that there are three DWORD values in there that were not on the R7

    SelectiveSuspendEnabled
    EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled
    DeviceSelectiveSuspended

Then I added these 3 DWORD and put them all to zero (disabled), and the problem disappeared. You should not have three of them, but I have not tested one at a time again.

    (2) for polyhedral external DVD playback, it turns out be pretty trivial. Someone had activated the hardware acceleration in the VLC Player settings. I reset all the settings of VLC, and it worked fine from there.

    Hope this can help others
