My keyboard does not work after a System Restore checkpoint to help get rid of a virus

My HP desktop computer has a virus that disabled McAfee, Avast and Malwarebytes.  I tried to solve the problem with the solutions found on the internet. My last attempt was to make a System Restore checkpoint.  The restoration was a success, but as soon as my PC restarted during the process of my keyboard don't work, when I went to enter my admin password.  The keyboard works fine in the recovery console, but not in safe mode or when I try a normal start, any advice would be appreciated.  Can a repair installation fix the problem?  What is the result of a corrupted registry of the virus? Do to restore the keyboard driver?

Hello

  • What is the brand and model of the keyboard?
  • What is a wired or wireless keyboard?
You can view these methods if you are able to connect:
Method 1:
You can check with the keyboard of the screen.
Method 2:
I also suggest you try to update the drivers for the keyboard and check.

Method 3:
You can also try different keyboard and check.

  • Equium M50-235: the keyboard does not work after upgrde memory

I just did an upgrade memory on my laptop using the second slot located under the keyboard.
However, as I was putting the keyboard at the rear, the ribbon cable has pulled away from the motherboard and even if I pushed
Reconnect and fixed with the clip, the keyboard no longer works.

Is there a service manual I can get hold of someone know what could be the cause of the problem?

    Thank you!

    Hello

First of all, once you unscrew the keyboard, open the clip that secures it in place and reinstall the keyboard by ensuring that it is completely down. After that, now the flat cable in place, close the clip. Then, make sure that it is not lost and that it is seated correctly. Then turn on the laptop and see if it works. If this is not the case, try an external keyboard. If an external keyboard does not work, the keyboard on your MB controller is dead and you need a new MB. If an external keyboard works then your keyboard is dead, or the connector on the MB is dead. Best way to test is to try the first solution. If it doesn't work, take it to an ASP so they can try another keyboard for your laptop. Good luck.

  • Keyboard does not work after windows update

The keyboard of my laptop S series suddenly stopped working after that she completed an update of windows. Another strange thing is that the wireless only turns off even when the laptop is turned off. Everything else seems to work fine except for two things.

First thing I did was to restore the system back to before the update of windows, but nothing has changed. Then I tried to uninstall the keyboard driver then by restarting the computer, after which it automatically reinstalled the driver but the keyboard still did not work.

Then I "refreshed" system, but nothing has changed then either. And finally, I reset the factory settings and for a little while, the wireless light turns off, but then he came back even if I had not turned on the laptop. (Update: I just changed the laptop and the wireless light disappeared so... If all goes well he will not return as a sign of improvement.) There was no change to the keyboard.

Additional details on my laptop that may or may not have something to do with the problem:

It is currently running Windows Pro 8 on a 64 bit system and is less than a year.

I accidentally spilled tea really diluted on the laptop a month ago, but the laptop was working again fine until windows update a few days ago. There is no significant problem caused by the spill other than a few sticky keys who take off on their overtime and that the sensors of the keyboard backlight no longer works correctly.

Any advice on what else I might be able to try to try to again take the keyboard in a usable state would be great.

    Hi rhel!

If the keyboard still does not work while in the BIOS, then it means that you have here a hardware failure, and the only way to solve that is to have the repaired computer. You can visit this page to start the repair process.

  • Keyboard does not work after stopping - restarting required

I shut down my PC overnight. In the morning, when I turn on, the mouse works fine but I can't enter my password using the keyboard. When I press the Caps Lock key, the indicator does not glow. After I use the mouse to make a reboot, the keyboard works fine again. Why the keyboard not work after a stop?

    It happened once or always?

If it were a single boot problem, there is nothing to fear, sometimes a USB port is not so quick to wakeup, mayb try to change the USB port when the keyboard is connected.

  • On NEW laptop keyboard does not work after that the screen keyboard has been activated and then deactivated.

Look at my friend got a new laptop and went through the whole upward. the on-screen keyboard has been activated which invalidates the real keyboard when the on-screen keyboard has been disabled the real keyboard has NO return. If this is a bug... Fix it. This is not a driver issue, it is not a user error. Stop giving people answers, trying to pretend like it's not not the OS when most people already know that it is.

I'm sorry, but I didn't not new meant only one day.  And when I got my new laptop, one of the first things I did was to create a point of files, even a day later I had a restore to use - point and that was possible here as well.  I'm sorry it wasn't the case.

If the system restore option is not available, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not work, you can try to go into the BIOS during the startup (the key appropriate to push appear on the screen to enter the boot menu or boot installation - try them both in turn if both appear. It is possible that the BIOS contains an option to disable the keyboard (which may have been activated by the keyboard on the screen but not changed when disable you the on-screen keyboard) and you may need to re-enable manually.  There is a slight possibility, but it is an option to try.

Another option to try is to set up a new user account that has never used the keyboard on the screen and see if the regular keyboard works when you connect to this account.  If so, you can simply treat the original as a corrupt account account and use the following procedures to complete the transfer.  To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.

I hope that one of these aid procedures.  I'm sorry if they seem to 'generic', but we do not really know what is the problem - especially since the system is new.  We try and identify the cause and fix the problem at the same time using the procedures available to us.  I suspect there's a registry tweak will correct this problem, but I went through the whole registry, and although I found several referencers keyboard, I could find no which seemed to control or not activate the main laptop keyboard (though it has been in one of the entries that has been encoded in binary that I couldn't read).  It's possible someone who knows more about the registry will respond to this issue with a proposal to amend (or perhaps another solution).

I hope that one of the solutions I proposed works.  Please post back in all cases we will know whether or not to continue searching for an answer.

    Good luck!

  • Keyboard does not work after automatic update

I have a HP Pavilion g6-2293sa Notebook PC, which itself updated automatically last week and thus the keybard has stopped working completely.

I have reset the PC to an earlier point of time, but that did not help.  Help topics in HP suggest to uninstall my River of keyboard, which I did, and then by downloading "original drivers" - but this does not come up as an option on the download page.  Similarly, there is no update available under the link of the driver - keyboard, mouse and input devices .

It feels like this should be a relatively simple download, but maybe I just can't find the right method?  I would be extremely grateful for any help or advice!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

The keyboard driver is actually provided by the operating system, no additional download is required - try the following.

Shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Start Notepad and let Windows load completely - any changes?

If this isn't the case, restart the laptop and tap to the ESC key, once he starts to restart to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

    Kind regards

  • USB keyboard does not work after Windows 7 SP1

I recently installed SP1 on my computer running Windows 7 Pro.  Everything was fine before SP1, but after installation, the keyboard is constantly up - does not not intermittently.  I noticed that SP1 seems to have updated kbdclass.sys so I wonder if that caused.

The USB keyboard is inadmissible for up to 30 seconds when you try to connect to my PC locked.  Also, once connected, the USB port sometimes emits a sound like something to be connected or disconnected.  Meanwhile, the keyboard is again irreceivable.

It's to the point where I think of getting a new computer.  I tried to uninstall the drivers USB, reboot and let the computer to reinstall.  I also ran MalwareBytes and Anti-Rootkit, looking for malware.

Any ideas would be appreciated.  It has no other USB connected to my machine except the keyboard and mouse.

    Thank you

Thanks for the sharing of information on the issue.

    • Have you tried to use the USB keyboard on a different USB port?
    • What is the brand and model of the keyboard?
    • The problem is specific to the keyboard?

Please try using a different port and see if it works.

Also, try to connect the same keypad USB on another computer and check.

Also I suggest you to try the following method to resolve the same.
