  A BIOS update is not necessary to install Windows XP. You only need the SATA drivers you can find in the Intel Storage Manager driver package that can be downloaded on the Toshiba site.   I have the same problem with two laptops, where they cannot detect a network.

  In Device Manager, I get an error on an "unknown device" I think that's probably the network card, I can't find listed anywhere in the Device Manager. I don't have an option to repair the unit, only to uninstall or update the driver. I tried to update, but it says I can't.

  The wireless light is amber in color, which tells me means that the wireless in not active, but I can not allow it because the computer does not know its there if it makes sense!
