Hi pbrackemyre,

1. have you made changes on the computer recently?
2. do you get an error message?

I suggest you try the steps from the following link and see if that helps.

    Hi dude

Because each operating system uses Microsoft's own common drivers, there is no special keyboard drivers.
You n t need the keyboard driver for the FN keys running. You must install the Vista Toshiba value added package. This package contains several utilities that are needed and must be installed to get the features of Toshiba works.

Please note that the driver Toshiba common Modules must be installed first.

  • shortcuts don't work not except in safe mode

original problem - could not access the files on server - received ID username/password invalid even after reset of net admin user. What new user created on the desktop icons and start menu has stopped working (double-click appeared to do nothing).

After experimentation, found that the opening of any .lnk returns fileNotFound exception. In safe mode without problem.

    A ran two separate a / v verifies - ESET and MalwareBytes.

Tried to disable as many external services and relevant as appeared startup tasks, without result.

Problem with new shortcuts and newly created the local administrator user.

This is updated from windows. No effect.

    Help, please! Thank you.

    Hello chaim handler1,.

I suggest to try in a clean boot in order to eliminate any possible conflict of third parties:

Step 1: Perform a clean boot
Note If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.
    a. log in the computer using an account with administrator rights.
    b. ClickStartCollapse this includes this image, typemsconfig.exe in the search box, theStart then press ENTER to start the System Configuration Utility.Collapse this includes this imageIf you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or clickContinue.
    c. arencontre, clickSelective Startup tab and then click on clear theLoad startup items check box. (Use Boot check box is not available.)
    d. on theServicestab, select hide it all the box, check Microsoft services, and then clickDisable all.

Note following this step lets Microsoft services continue to operate. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.
    e. click OK, and then to clickRestart.
Step 2: Enable half the services
    a. follow steps 1a and 1B to start the System Configuration utility.
    b. click on the services tab and then click to select theHide all Microsoft services checkbox.
    c. Click to select half of the check boxes in the service list.
    d. click OK, and then to clickRestart.

Step 3: Determine whether the problem returns
If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 and 2. In step 2, click to clear half of the check boxes that you have initially enabled in the service list.

If the problem does not occur, repeat steps 1 and 2. In step 2, select only half of the remaining check boxes that are cleared in the service list. Repeat these steps until you have selected all the check boxes.

If only one service is selected in the list of services, and you the problem persists, the service selected the cause of the problem. Go to step 6. If no service is causing this problem, go to step 4.
Step 4: Enable half of the startup items
    a. perform a clean boot by repeating step 1.
    b. click the theStartup tab and then click to select half of the check boxes in the list of items of theStartup.
    c. click OK, and then to clickRestart.

Step 5: Determine whether the problem returns
If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 and 4. In step 4, click to clear half of the check boxes that you have initially enabled in the list of items of theStartup.

If the problem does not occur, repeat steps 1 and 4. In step 4, select only half of the remaining check boxes that are disabled in the list of items of theStartup. Repeat these steps until you have selected all the check boxes.

If only one startup item is selected in the startup item list, and you still experience the problem, start selected in the list element is the service that is causing the problem. Go to step 6.

If no startup item causes this problem, a Microsoft service most likely the cause of the problem. To determine which Microsoft service may be the cause of the problem, repeat step 1 and step 2 without selecting theHide all the box Microsoft services at every step.
    Step 6: Resolve the problem
After you determine the startup item or the service that is causing the problem, contact the manufacturer of the program to determine if the problem can be solved. Or, run the System Configuration utility, and then click to clear the check box of the element of the problem.
Step 7: Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
    a. ClickStart collapse that includes this image, typemsconfig.exe in the search box and press ENTER. Collapse this includes this image
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or clickContinue.
    b. on the arencontre tab, click Start zone option, and then click OK.
    c. When you are prompted to restart the computer, clickRestart.

  • My Apple keyboard num pad shortcuts don't work

    Hello.

I have to do something wrong. When I try to fit the Page in the window, normally order + 0 it only works if we use keys above the letters on the keyboard.

I checked the default shortcuts, and all is right with the default shortcuts.

Also, the zoom tool and hand tool when you double clicked work as expected.

I looked in preferences but cannot find anything like using the numeric keypad.

    What I am doing wrong?

It's normal.  The keypad are reserved for style shortcuts and are the only keys that can be used for this purpose.

  • XP Pro shortcuts do not work after the removal of virus

had a virus (XP Internet Security 2011), cleaned and ran cc cleaner - now the shortcuts don't work unless I right click to uncheck the option «protect data...» "under the currently logged-on user account, or choose 'run as administrator '.

Also if I open Control Panel I can not open all programs-ex firewall windows etc.

I saved the front register CC Cleaner cleaned but restore it makes no difference. Try and find the XP Media and attempt a repair. All this before and know a correction that could save me a lot of time?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi John,.

You can then create a new profile for the user by the listed method: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/279783

and copy the data using the index method: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151

When you sign in as an administrator, you can rename your existing profile

    C:\Document and settings\

Rename as desired. Now restart your pc and you connect with your normal login account.

It will recreate a user profile with the same identifier. Now refer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151 and copy data from the renamed account of this new profile, would be easy.

    I hope this helps.

  • changed to 8.0 and now my keyboard shortcuts cut paste don't work

Yesterday, I downloaded the new version of Firefox (8,0) and now my copy / paste keyboard shortcuts do not work, i.e. Ctrl C and Ctrl V. I searched the help section and found that someone had this problem with an earlier version. They mentioned that the shortcut has changed the pressed Alt key instead of the CTRL key. I tried the ALT key and that does not work either.

The list of shortcuts can be found here:

    https://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/keyboard%20shortcuts

CTRL + C and Ctrl + V still reigns supreme (g). Can develop you pls on ' copy / paste keyboard shortcuts do not work '. For instance if you highlight text in this message and press Ctrl + C, you get in the paper - i.e. can you paste into another application, such as Notepad.

  • Shortcuts in Menu start don't work (Windows domain)

    Hello everyone.

I have a mysterious ailment. The environment is:

-Server: Windows Server 2003 R2 with windows domain

    -laptop: Windows Vista SP2

For users in the domain who work on PC Windows Vista shortcuts stored on drive O: location: 'O:\menus\VPoziomD '.

Location: 'O:\menus' is shared on a network.

When the user (eg. "student012d") which is in the 'PoziomD' group connects to Windows Vista PC to the domain:

This site (O:\menus\VPoziomD) is mounted as location of apps from the START Menu (shortcuts).

This is a nuisance. When student012d is logged in the shortcuts do not work. I'm clicking on shortcut but nothing happen.

When I do nothing and wait for a long time, and I come back to this PC, I click on the shortcut and everything works.

What's wrong? Where could be a problem? I have spent 5 days to solve this problem, but without success. :(

It probably isn't a network problem, because I changed my switch to another, but it is not a solution to my problem.

    Thank you community. Adam.

  • Text Message shortcuts don't synchronize between my devices using iCloud

It does not sync to my text Message shortcuts between my iOS devices (iPad Air 2 Wi - Fi, iOS 9.3.2 and iPhone 6 s, iOS 9.3.2) and my Mac (OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)).

Already, I turn off and turn on iCloud on all my devices. Also, I try to remove all my shortcuts and add on my Mac. Shortcuts do not appear on other devices.

The only solution I found is to add a shortcuts on each devices.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

    Hi Virtanas,

I understand that you are having problems with your text message shortcuts don't no synchronization between devices that are connected to iCloud. Have access to usage they are practical so I can understand wanting to ensure that they operate.

I know that you have already tried to extinguish iCloud on all your devices, but I recommend you to try to connect on iCloud on all your devices, and then restart your devices before you sign in. If that is not the case, the next step you can try is to disable your iCloud of Documents and data on your iPhone and then turn it back on. You can do it on your iPhone by going to settings > iCloud > Documents & data. If you have upgraded to iCloud by car then you would rather go to settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive and toggle the iCloud drive function works. You may also do this for your other devices that are connected to iCloud.

Thanks for checking out the communities Support from Apple!

    Best regards.

BTW, my PC is a Dell Optiplex GX260

Looks like your Windows file associations have to dispose. This means that XP doesn't know what to do with files by looking at the file extension (.exe for executables)., .doc for MS documents, etc.

If you don't have it you, something done for you - most likely malware.

Go to this site WWW by Doug Knox:

    http://www.dougknox.com/

On the left, click on the Win XP fixes, file Association fixed and read the instructions at the top of the page.

Download the EXE File Association Fix on your desktop, unzip the file and apply it by following the instructions at the top of the page, then to restart and test.

Run the following scans for malware, and then fix any problems:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

  • Dell SK-8135 keyboard shortcuts no longer work?

    Hello!

Thus, for some time I use a fairly old multimedia keyboard with some registry changes simple to customize shortcut keys multimedia fantasy located here:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Explorer / AppKey
In the folder AppKey are 5 folders with the registry values corresponding to functions for 5 different keys. Sometimes in the past 3 weeks after Windows Update updated (I try to do often enough), Windows broken, or ceased to honor these values/functions.
Example: the music button would open my Media Player of choice, instead, it opens Windows Media Player; and the electronic key should open a Notepad window, but instead opens with an error 'current assignment for this key is not available.
It is worth noting that the "Microsoft mouse and keyboard Center" shows only one media key, and its modifications do not seem to be recognized by Windows.
Oddly enough, I can get the shortcut keys to work again temporarily. If Windows has open Regedit.exe, the keys are functioning normally; However if I focus Windows away from this window (even if it is still open) they break again.
These functions have the new registry values maybe? If Yes, where are they?
    Thank you
    SirGir

Update (22/06/13): randomly found the answer! For all of you who have this problem in the future: just uninstall the "Microsoft mouse and keyboard Center", it is right in the menu uninstall programs. He fixed everything!

The usefulness of keyboard Dell QuickSet controls special keys for of many valleys PCs, but I don't know if it has the same name on your PC keyboard combination.

You should be able to confirm the name by checking in C:\Dell.  Mine has a subfolder called QuickSet conatins three files exe: QuickSet.exe, Battery.exe & MobilityCenter.exe.  Battery.exe & MobilityCenter.exe are the standard names, search for the third exe in the folder that contains them.

If adjustment has been corrupted, then it will not make reference to these registry settings correctly and therefore your direct use of these parameters is inhibited as well.  Is not that I heard someone's done this before, but the logic of it seems to fit.

Find a new copy of the quick adjustment on the site of Dell support, drivers & downloads for your model and install it.  You must not delete the existing one first unless the installation file or its instructions page say you.  I guess you have to put your custom in these registry keys subsequently as quick adjustment values installation probably crushes them.

I can't explain the part about moving the slider of the RegEdit window - which is pretty weird.

Disabling this function restores the keyboard shortcuts

Can you open your Real Player and tell me what version you have? I think that Real Player 15.0.6 is supposed to solve this problem. There was a conflict between Real Player and Flash this all summer that broke Flash videos. Real Player has released an update which may help in your case.

If this does not help, I think an addon can be to blame here. So follow these steps:

Firefox button > help > troubleshooting information

Click on the "Copy to Clipboard" button, then paste it here. He'll tell us what addons that you installed and I see that could cause problems.
