My operating system is Windows Vista. I used Movie Maker to make of my recordings of camcorder home movies, but when I try to burn a DVD with Windows DVD Maker, the program closed its doors with an error message - Data Execution Prevention (DEP) has apparently stopped the program for preventing possible dangers for my computer, maybe because he was "bad memory usage". I tried to turn off DEP for this program, but it won't let me. How to work around this problem?

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.
Method 1:
Solve problems with creating a DVD-video using Windows DVD creation
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-problems-with-creating-a-DVD-video-using-Windows-DVD-MakerMethod 2:
Try to put your computer in a clean boot state, and check to see if the same problem happens.
By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

Hi KenGLove,
You need to install additional software to create discs of DVD movie ready for playback on a video DVD player. I suggest you check the store or do a search with your favorite browser to find a.
However, you can still use Windows 8 to write data to DVD without additional software disks.
I hope this helps!

Created with Windows DVD Maker DVD will not play in DVD Toshiba player!
I just finished creating a dvd in Windows DVD Maker. He played very well on the PC and burn to my DVD - R Memorex without problem. However, now that he's in my Toshiba DVD player, nothing happens. I have a black and white screen with down right a small square box, color. No display of numbers on reading DVD player. The Toshiba site indicates that it should play DVD-r. Need of this DVD to a presentation in a few days. What's wrong???!!!
I'm not sure at 100%, but something similar happened to me when I created a movie in windows movie maker.
what I had to do was to convert the file to an AVI file that I was able to do as part of the utility of movie maker, and then import the file into a dvd creator software utility called (dvd Creator free 2) and then I could read in my dvd player. It is a download free .you corresponds to the URL if you want to give it a try http://www.minidvdsoft.com/dvdcreator/ hope this helps.

I created my pictures in Windows Movie Maker with a title page for each project. When I created a dvd in Windows DVD Maker, box scenes passes the text to the images in the project. Thanks for any help you can give.

When I went to make a video of photos and music with Mindows DVD Maker (supplied with Windows), I found there is no function to 'Point' the program to the location of the music files. I brought back them to the location of origin, but when I go to 'ADD Music' button is not take me to get music files. I have a Windows disc or whatever it is with Windows DVD Maker Program on it. Will I need to buy a drive for Win 7 Windows to re - install this program? A disc of Windows 7 will allow me to programs of "repair"?

Windows DVD Maker-burned a video DVD reads with no sound
Windows DVD Maker video playback errors
I'm doing a movie on dvd, this used to before, but now what is happening that the sound is ok on video before I burn it but when I burned video disc has not all the sounds that it but image is perfect. When I put the audio backround with it, you can hear the noise at that, I put the disc burned 3 dvd recorders and a reader as well as the PS3 and PC, but have the same problem
I talked to the Comet, which is where I got Hp desktop and I made them aware of it and said that I installed only 1 new program on pc and it was Vanbascos karaoke software. Could that be the issue. I was told to restore the computer to its factory with rercovery drive settings and see if problem persists
Hi Uncle mango.
1. don't you restore the computer back to factory settings?
If you have not restored the computer to factory settings, we recommend that you restore the settings of Windows DVD maker to factory default settings such as audio and video filters sometimes cause this problem.
Video and audio filters are programs that are installed on your computer that help interpret video files so that they will display and play correctly. Windows Movie Maker uses them when you import video and audio.
To restore settings, try the following steps.
A. open Windows DVD maker.
B. click on tools, then click Options.
C. click on the Compatibility tab.
D. do one of the following:
> To turn off a filter, clear the check box next to the name of the video filter.
> To turn on a filter, select the check box next to the name of the video filter.
> To restore the default list, click on restore all default values.
E. restart DVD maker and burn a new DVD to check if the problem persists. When you restore the default settings, the list and the filters settings are given to the last known good setting.
