My Windows laptop, 8 crashes after I login

I bought a portable windows 8 a year ago and it's kinda a crap laptop. It freezes all the time and struggled to do simple tasks but recently, whenever I have login, it freezes. about 20 seconds after I opened my desktop computer that everything freezes. the mouse keys, everything. the only thing I can do is force to close the sense that I don't get to use my laptop which is very stressful because I have homework to do. Help, please!

Hello

Computer which model is it?

Another person had a HP laptop with similar problems...

The problem has proved to be an update from HP Support Manager for HP Assistant Manager...

If this has happened since the machine was new, so I would inquire on what kind of things was the Assembly of the computer running...

Many things can be disabled in the startup of the Task Manager tab and turned back quite easily...

You can also search in MSCONFIG... just type in RUN...

Click on Services and check hide all Microsoft Services.

Again, things can be turned off and on again easily... This requires a reboot...

Keep track of what settings change you so that you can return the unit to the way it was...

    Hi Vashem,

The error STOP: 0x000000F4 can occur for several reasons. There are many reasons why your system may crash because of these screens to stop errors\Blue. The most common scenarios are: faulty drivers, hardware problem (especially RAM). In this case, the issue could be due to the motherboard is heated.

Check firmware and system disk controller BIOS settings are correct and that the storage device has been correctly installed.

Method 1: The problem is possibly due to material of unsupported disk controller. Check if BIOS (Basic Input\Output System) is set to IDE. Enter the BIOS and check the settings. Change the SATA to IDE option (if available). You can view the manual to do the same thing.

Note: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.

Method 2: Disconnect any external devices from the computer except for the mouse and keyboard and check if that helps.

  • Windows 7 RC crashes after installed updates. Initial Setup works fine.

Everyone knows about system crashes after installation of microsoft after a successful Windows 7 updates installed.  I would like to point out that the installation of the operating system is going very well and there seems to be no problem, another that I have a found unknown device that is not described here until you go into system properties.  When the windows update notification is in place there are usually 7 updates important and 36 optional updates.  Optional updates include drivers for the video card and other drivers and also a Toshiba ACPI value-added product for the General and logical devices.  I don't know what it is because I can't find any information about it.  It is not really important at this stage because everything hangs!  I had this problem since the beta version and it is still not resolved.  I have read and tried to fix this with "accidents of the Explorer of windows 7 after update" using the Microsoft fix by regedit keys.  It did not work.  I also tried various updates one at a time to see if it has an impact, without success.  I tried to go to the Toshiba website for updates, but so far there is none.  I continue to read the forums and also sent food to Microsoft beta on this problem.  Someone can help me.

    System Specs:
    Toshiba phone L355D-S7829
AMD Turion x 2 dual core mobile RM-72
    4 MG RAM
ATI Radeon 3100 Mobile graphics card Shared
    Dual-boot system: Vista 64/Windows 7 (64-bit) RC

System works fine on Vista and as long I don't upgrade anything, Windows 7 works very well.  Software installs works very well as long as they do not require a video card update.  I tried to use the video driver for Vista and it still crashes.

If I can offer any other information I can be set aside, please let me know.

  • Keyboard not working on Lenovo Windows laptop and stuck on the login screen

I have a Lenovo WIndows 8 20157 laptop, the keyboard no longer works someday so I restored it.  At that time, I could use an external keyboard.  When the system rebooted, it got to the login screen and will not work.  The screen keyboard and the external keyboard does not work.  The only thing that happens when I use a keyboard (external to the screen, laptop), is that if I hit the button S power options developed.  I can not connect and I can't run it in safe mode.  Already, I have removed the battery and held down the power button, which has not changed anything.

I took it for someone who told me to restore to factory settings and there are drop down menu in the corner of the login screen, but sometimes the mouse works and sometimes it isn't.  For example at the moment I can't open easy access menu to open the keyboard screen, but sometimes I can't.  Any ideas?

  • Windows XP mode crashes after his execution. Can Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 be the cause?

It is a new HP laptop, preloaded with Windows 7 Professional, including Windows Virtual PC and WIndows XP Mode.  2013 - Kaspersky Internet Security is responsible.  With the launch of XP Mode Windows Virtual PC, I get my password, integration are enabled and the Windows XP desktop appears.  There is a notification that the virtual machine is protected by 2013 of Kaspersky Internet Security.  A ToolTip appears and indicates that Kaspersky needs to be refreshed.  (Note: Kaspersky has been updated under the Windows 7 platform).  When you attempt to update, the virtual machine freezes up.  By clicking on the Start button returns nothing.  The only thing I can do is output using the X in the upper right.  A window opens on the Windows 7 Desktop poster "The Virtual Machine into hibernation".  This window remains on my desk, and apparently the VM is not hibernate.  I have to perform a reboot of windows 7 and, in the process, forcing the Virtual PC to stop before the reboot process can begin.  Note that if I set up the Office XP under XP Mode, then immediately stop the XP Mode (I don't try to do SOMETHING else), hibernation is successful.  MS Help Desk wants to charge $99 for this problem.  It is a new machine, for Petes sake! • Film shot in Windows Movie Maker crashes after 6 seconds during playback in Windows Media Player

I have a film created (1 minute, 20 seconds) in Windows Movie Maker of two short videos to YouTube.  The original files were .mp4 files and I converted the .wmv files.  I cut 7 seconds since the start of the first video and just linked the two original videos into one.  No special effects.  Plays well in Windows Movie Maker.  Save the file as an .mswmm file (required by Movie Maker) and then published as a .wmv.  When I play it in Windows Media Player, he plays for 6 seconds, then freezes, but the bottom bar is moving, as if he is playing.  I tried to do the same thing without clipping 7 seconds from the beginning - same result.  I used WINFF (free Converter).  Any ideas?  Thanks for your help.

    Hello RachelPierce,

    1. what happens when you try to play the files with Windows Movie Maker?

This problem can be caused by codecs supporting not the file that you created. If you use a converter, I suggest that you convert the files to MPEG format and verify if you are able to play the files.

  • Windows 8 black screen after Login or the wake from sleep / hibernate and flickering screen

    Hello

I have something of a nightmare with my desktop computer running Windows 8 x 64.

I did a bit of cleaning, unplug all cables, etc. and then reconnected everything later.

Since then, I've known the following questions: -.

After starting and going through the connection, I am faced with a black screen.  The monitor turns on, but there is no pointer.  However, if I clicked at random, it would open a Windows App out of the splash screen, which would then become visible.  If I moved the mouse to the bottom left, to get the splash screen, he would immediately go black screen on me.  He seemed to be refusing to display the splash screen.

With "display" black screen, I found I could get the Task Manager (Ctrl, Alt, Del) upward and there could access the desktop.  It would then execute as usual, but if I let it go into hibernation or even just having the power of the screen down, it would be black screen again, and I have to use the 'trick' Task Manager to retrieve the desktop computer.

Sometimes, using the Manager tasks does not always, because he'll sweep between the black screen and the desktop, alternating every 5-6 seconds.  I found through the process from the Task Manager, it stops doing this.

Now, I did a Windows 8 regenerate, without any change in the problems.  I made sure the AMD drivers have been completely updated (they were) and also physically checked all cables and cables are properly connected and the GPU / RAM etc are properly placed.

There is no error message displayed at any time. I have also disabled Fast Boot, nothing helps.

I examined a faulty monitor, but it worked fine for an hour or two at a time, until I got let go sleep or put into hibernation, and I'm at square one.  It would of course be a faulty GPU, or even a PSU failure, but I'm not convinced the symptoms are pointing to them.

For me, the fact it does not display the Windows 8 start screen after that Login or Wake Up is important.  It makes me think that Windows may interfere with the display in some way?

I can, if necessary, provide DXDIAG etc, and I "m hoping someone will have an idea of what goes wrong.  I have spent ages going through Google and others, but cannot find a solution to my problem.

Thanks for any help or suggestion you may have.

    Conrad.

It solved!  Traded my monitor cable and all problems solved.  Guess he had a break or something in one of the lines.

    Thanks anyway.

    Sorry, mate, but you're wrong.
All drivers for Win 7 for Satellite Pro A210 are available on the European driver of Toshiba page that I recommend you check out once again

Given that this question does not appear using Win XP, I can say with certainty that this has nothing to do with the material, but it s a software related issue
I recommend updating the graphics card driver

    Hello

Try this and let me know.

Boot the computer normally and log.

Black screen, hold down the ctrl and alt keys and press delete.

    Select Task Manager.

At the bottom left, select details (if it is not already selected).

Click in the header of column Nsoul to organize the processes in alphabetical order.

Look for an entry called to run once Wrapper (RunOnce.exe) - If you see it listed, right-click on it and select end task.

    The office is now show?

If this is the case, download Autoruns on the following link and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://download.sysinternals.com/files/Autoruns.zip

When you have that, open your download folder, right-click on the folder zipped to Autoruns, select "extract all...". "and in the next window, click Extract.

A new window will open displaying the extracted content.  The application you must launch is the 2nd in the list (in format autoruns 636ko) but this by right clicking on it and selecting 'Run as administrator' -click 'Yes' to the uac prompt.

Scroll down the list until you find the entrance to RunOnce (it may well be 2 entries) and Remove the tick (s) in the box next to it.

Restart computer and see if it boots now on the desktop.

  • Satellite L350-24U: Windows Vista crashes after installing SP2

    Hello

I own a Satellite L350-24U laptop with Windows Vista 32. I bought in October and had to reinstal the OS twice now. Still, it crashes after installation of Service Pack 2. After you restart the system, a blue screen appears, giving the following information

    STOP: 0 X 00000024 (0 X 00190444, 0X86B9BAD0, 0XC0000102, 0X00000000)

I had to reinstall Win Vista with HDD Recovery from Toshiba (press F8, then repair etc.) and everything worked properly again.
THS time, it's more serious. Last night the system shut down whenever you use internet explore (after about 30 seconds). SP2 has not been installed, but there are so many problems, I decided to install SP2, because I hoped that the bugs I had with SP2 would be eliminated. When installing SP2, the system crashed again, and now I got the same bluescreenmessage new.

I tried to reinstall Vista, but the Toshiba HDD program starts no more: it is said: the installed program is not working (or something similar) - please click on ok to close.

I did not burn the cd of recovery yet, so I don't know what more can be done and online support is closed today.
I'd really be very happy for any help
    Thank you

    Hello

I searched a bit on the Microsoft Web site and on the blue screen, I created this article:
    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-GB/library/ms793935.aspx

So I think that the reason for the BSOD is a corrupted file system or a defective HARD drive. You should check the drive using the Drive Fitness Test for example.

I put t understand why you didn't burn the disc of recovery yet. Why you didn t read the manual at first?
Now, you have only one option to get a new recovery disk: Please order a new Toshiba directly: https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

NOPE! It installed fine, and now it is stuck in an ANOTHER infinite boot loop! (This laptop must love restart all the time).

So yes, this is what he does now.

It starts normally with the typical screen of Vista (the puke green bar fly across the screen). Then it comes up with the screen blue-green pretty fancy, and it says "Please wait while Windows continues to set up your computer...". »

Right now, it comes up with this box beautiful error "Windows could not parse or treat [C:\Windows\Panther\unattend.xml] unattended Setup answer file. The answer file is invalid. "with the OK" "button. You click on 'OK', it stops and then restarts, shows the same message.

    Also, try this:

Try using a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
