  Recently, my laptop started to fail. Nothing occurred which gave me an overview of what has caused this, but it started freezing randomly after anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes of use. Simple tasks would become unresponsive. I had to turn it off manually in order to restart. Then, he got to the point where it would not even start. I ran a diagnostic and it failed on the hard drive. I ordered a new hard drive and tried to install vista 32 bit using the disc that came with my laptop. He installed after awhile but when it's over, he would simply sit at a black screen with only the cursor showing. I left it overnight to see if she would do anything, and he didn't. I then unplugged the computer (did I mention that my battery leave simultaneously load when all this started to happen) and the computer turned off. When I boot it it goes to the window loading screen with the little bar that cross in the middle. The bar moves for a second or two, then stop for a second and then continues and repeats the process. Stop going, are going to stop. So I guess my question is... WTF! Dell wants $ 50 to tell me what is the problem... It's cheaper. If anyone has at all no inclination who would, please let me know. • ESXi 6.0 installs but does not start HP DL380 G7

  Hello

  I have a HP DL380 G7 server, I have 4 disks, configure a RAID0 array and created a logical volume of the sum of the disk 4 (2.2 to)

  ESXi 6.0 correctly installed and asks to restart, when restarts the server tries a different boot devices (network, etc.)

  I have tried F11 during boot and select to boot from the local disk, but the problem persists.

  It was my mistake, check the Configuration of the Array utility there is an option in the main 'select the boot Volume"menu, selected my logical volume and here!

• network computer detects and installs but won't print on shared printer

  I have a HP C4680 hooked to my beta Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit version office running with a USB cable.  I have an Asus EEE netbook running than Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit Retail Version.  It detects and prints on the thin printer on the network.  I have a laptop HP slot as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Retail Version.  When I add printer and select network it finds connected to the desktop computer and goes through the installation, but it will not print to it.  It is as if it were the case.  There are no errors, but does never print anything.

  Any suggestions as to why does not print just a computer?

  In the case where someone else faces ever I think that the problem has to do with a 64-bit computer, I try to print to the 32-bit computer.  There was a bizarre behavior last night.  He would print document a specific word, but nothing else.

  After some additional research I found two things to try.  I've done both, so I'm not the one who fixed it for sure, but everything works fine now.

  First, I installed the printer drivers 64-bit on the desktop hosting the printer.  Then click on update driver for the printer from the laptop 64 bit.

  The next step, I took suggested that set the permissions of folder windows/system32/spool to everyone on the host computer, I saw.

  After doing these all works very well, and my wife is happy, that it can print.

• ThinApp 4.5 installs but doesn't start

  The question I have is that when I install thinapp 4.5 on a fresh desktop of Windows XP SP3, the installation goes by without problems, but when I try to open the thinapp application by start > all programs > VMware > Thinapp Setup Capture, a splash screen appears at the bottom right of the virtual machine saying thin app starts, and then it disappears. No matter how many times I try and how many times I reboot, nothing happens after that.

  I tried to install version 4.0.4 on the same windows XP computer and it works without problem.

  The configuration of the environment is the following:

  vCenter server runs on Windows 2008 32 bit. This is the reason why we see 4.5 that 2008 is not taken in charge into 4.0.

  VMware view compose, Thinapp and server connection are running any version 4.5.

  I need to get thinapp works fine on my XP desktop computer to requests for profile successfully for this deployment.

  A few things to try

  Windows XP system is a virtual machine?

  If so if it runs the latest VM tools

  Have you tried redownloading ThinApp 4.5?

  Try Thinapp 4.5 on a different Machine in Window XP?

  Try Thinapp 4.5 on a minimal Windows XP system?

  This windows xp system there anything installed?

  If so I would try a system with nothing installed, only Windows Security Updates, do not even IE7 / IE8 etc.

  If the system is a physical computer to ensure that all drivers, chipsets etc are up to date

  The account that you are logged in there full administrator rights?

  The system has at least 512 MB of ram?

  Make sure you %temp% exists and you have the opportunity to write for her

  Hi guys!

  I installed the latest version of Vmware server on our new Windows 2008 R2 Server core installation, but I have a problem with it. When I create a virtual computer and try to start the Web UI:

  General system error occurred: unable to connect to the virtual machine

  Do you know something about the nature of this message? The Server service not had access to the possuble vitrual machine? But how can it create if it doesn't have access? I have not found the log files created in the folder of the virtual machine.

  I'm having a problem with one of the host ESXi 4.1 when I try and install the pack MEM DELL EqualLogic.

• NFS problem after upgrade to vSphere, ESXi 5.0 5.1

  I installed / updated on a Dell r.620 Server ESXi 5.0 5.1 vSphere
  I also have an ESXi installed 5.0 an another r.620 Dell both connected to a Snyology Racksation via NFS. (at different volumes)
  Now, I have the problem that I can't install an OS (Windows XP, Windows 8, Windows 7) located on an NFS share in a new created virtual machine.
  I am not connected without vCenter, just with the vSphere Client direct connected.
  The system boots, but I can not choose to install the operating system on the new created VMDK but then nothing happens.
  I also tried to format the drive before installation, formatting breaks down after 15 minutes with the message: "unable to format the drive...". 0 x 80070057 ".
  When the virtual machine is on the local storage of the VM to the server, everything works fine.
  I can also install and start virtual machines on the same NFS with an ESXi 5.0 share.
  Formerly installed VMs can also start. All hung on the windows logo screen and the German Embassy "Comuptereinstellungen werden übernommen"... for over an hour...
  The same virtual machines work fine on the ESXi 5.0, located on the same NFS share.
  But on the NFS share, I can write and read the data with the Client vSphere (on configuration-> storage) with no problems, so I guess that there is a problem with the NFS, permissions etc volume.
  So I guess there must be a problem with the NFS share on vSphere Host 5.1.

  Does anyone have an idea what is the problem?

• ESXi & Installer hangs when starting

  I looked around and looked for my problem-related entries in the forum, but I couldn't find anything...

  Here is my problem:

  * New server Fujitsu TX200 S7:

  2 x Xeon CPU / 64GByte = 16GByte RAM 4 x / 4 x SAS HDD 600GByte / RAID LSI Ctr RAID0/1/5/6/10/50/60 mit FBU - Erw. + Modul TFM / DVD - RW / embeddet USB Device of the UFM

  I experienced enormous problems to start with the installer of vmware esxi 5.1 (or 5.0) CD ROM or esxi host 5.1.

  What works with the above server:

  * Install it is an os windows 2012 std server on the raid system is executed without absolutely no problems

  Start the success of server std 2012 win every time.

  * Setup a esxi host 5.1 on the server, but only subsequently install Fujitsu «server see DVD»

  What does NOT work with the above server: (every time, never had a successful boot)

  Booting with the esxi 5.0 installation CD original fujitsu - fails!

  * Start with one (from vmware) downloaded fails - esxi 5.1 installation CD!

  * Start with one (from fujitsu) downloaded fails - esxi 5.1 installation CD!

  Start a successuflly by the Fujitsu 'Start Server CD' installed esxi host 5.1 on this server - fails!

  * Test: start without lsi sas controller (without any disk hard sas) - the server starts faster (without the lsi raid controller firmware)-, but fails.

  * Test: starting with half of the installed RAM - fails!

  The symptoms of what happens during startup and cannot:

  * First step of booting (bundle of progress on the top of the screen) will run successfully

  * During the first seconds of the second stage (starting ESXi Kernel, beam of progress is displayed on the bottom of the screen), the computer did a hard-reset and the startup process begins once more.

  So I don't know what I could do.

  Because all windows system works perfectly, I would exclude a hardware error

  On the other side, Fujitsu specifies this server with this equipment compatible with esxi, then I do not understand that no esxi (Installer) will be initialize to top.

  So, what could be the reason why the software does not start?

  How can I know the reason why the systems do not initialize-go to top?

• 2012 Server ESXi 5.1 does not not on NFS

  We have 2 servers Cisco C210-M2 x and a NAS Synology 1812 +. These engines were running with ESXi 4.1 and 5.0. I ran a new installation of 5.1 on these two servers and none of our server 2012 seem to work. When you try to migrate the 2012 machines on I get this error:

  Impossible to take back the machine.

  If I turned the computer off and manually migrated it worked fine, but when I started it up it would hang on to the blue window and screen spining white circle. I tried to create a new machine and attach disks... has not worked, then update material... didn't work.

  I then tried to install on the NFS datastore and the installation hangs at the copy of the files. There is an error that occurs after about 20 minutes, that is:

  "Windows could not format the partition on disk 0. The error occurred when preparing the partition selected for installation. "Error code: 80070057 0 x."

  However when I install and test machine is on the local drive, it succeeds and works very well. During the installation of the local disk showed peaks of 100 ms latency and the NFS showed the spikes of 15ms.

  I was able to migrate a server 2012 successfully today, but after about 30 minutes, the machine began to hang. The migration to a host U1 5.0 fixed the problem. This NFS system may be overloaded now because it works about 30 machines, but we are working on implementing on an other deivce to temporaily release some IOPs that server share storage VDI.

  Any idea on what could be causing these issues?

  I want to install ESXi Server C220 M3. I think that ESXi is free but I'm not sure. Do need me a permit for the Cisco custom ESXi image?

  Basis of VMware and virtuallisation managed with the vi client is included in the free license, but no vCenter and all the goodies that come with it.
