Name of the preset pdf brackets

Hey people, I have the custom pdf presets that are used to produce PDF from Adobe InDesign CS3 files on the Windows operating system. These presets are in the usual default folder: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\ and are included with a bunch of default settings. In any case, when I open InDesign and choose Adobe PDF presets in the menu file, all settings are visible. However, they have the name, [myCustomIDPDFPreset] in square brackets. I expect this result among the options of default working who are provided with Adobe, but not in my presets custom. This is a problem because our output scripts use the specific name of the screening to the content PDF output for the inclusion of the brackets cause its failure. Any thoughts on how the custom presets may appear in the list without the brackets. That's how it worked in CS2. Thks, Wil

This seems to be a consequence of the location, and indicates that you cannot change the preset. If you use the load and save buttons, instead, in the dialogue box, the preset will be stored in your user directory and will appear without brackets. It also seems that you can move the presets for the directories of sweat and media will disappear.

My guess would be that this is intended as a safety device to keep a user from accidentally a shared changing preset.

  • How to get the name of the current PDF file?

    Hello world

    I know this is maybe a question has been asked millions of times, but I couldn't find a straight answer.

    I am using a workflow that comes with a Content Manager Solution is not Adobe this WF will generate a file very long (about 30 characters) name that will be used as the number of unique processes.

    To go to the step next in the workflow that I have to update the table in the database and registration update will use the process number.  What I did is that I added a field in hidden text in the form, which should have the number of processes on the initialize function.

    Now my question is how to get the file name of the opened PDF file?

    I'm sure that there is a function in JS, but I couldn't find the way to do it.

    Thanks in advance guys for help.

  • "open doc" javascript based on the name of the original pdf, for example pdf a5.pdf a button to open the b5.pdf because the script is able to know its "5"

    I hope this makes sense.

    I have two sets of PDF files containing 100 + individual pages (for a total of 200 pages in a single file)

    Set/series 1: a1, a2, a3-> a100

    Set/series 2: b1, b2, b3-> b100

    I would like to create a button on every page that opens to a page number corresponding to the other series of pdf.

    If I click the button open the file location that is sitting on the a50, for example, it will open b50.

    Any tips or clues on how I can run this? Probably a smart way to isolate the number (last character) "50", the name of the pdf existing and adding 'b' for 'b50' as the file to open at the end of the text?

    If you have a file called "a50.pdf" and you want to add a button that will open "b50.pdf" in the same folder? That's good enough?

    If so, you can use this code:

    var this.documentFileName = fname;

    fname = fname.replace (/ ^ has /, "b");

    app.openDoc ({cPath: fname, oDoc: this});

    If you want a link in 'b50.pdf' that opens "a50.pdf" just change the second line to:

    fname = fname.replace (/ ^ b /, "a");

  • Question on the preset values of rendering?

    Hi-

    I want to configure some parameters for the release of SpeedGrade, but I don't want to save my settings as a preset. Is it possible for me to change rendering parameters without having to create a new preset every time I want to change something?

    Thank you

    Noel

    Hey Noel,.

    You can edit the existing presets and replace its parameters by saving it with the same name of the preset.

    For example, you have created a "H.264" preset and you want to change it:

    -Select the "H.264" preset and click on 'other '.

    -Update default settings

    -Save format "H.264" and confirm to replace (if you choose another name preset it to create a new preset)

    I hope this helps.

  • Lose the presets for metadata applied to images

    I have a the basic metadata preset that I have apply to the images after that that they were imported. I noticed that on a basis regular, every image in my library loses its preset applied metadata and it comes down to "none". For the life of me I can't understand why this is happening and I don't know if it's a bug or a feature.

    My standard workflow is that after I import images, I select all the images in the new folder I have designated for these images and apply my screening of specific metadata but it seems only a few days later or after I have import new images, all metadata presets are gone again. I noticed this problem with Lightroom 3 and again with Lightroom 4 once I've updated so I don't think it's related to a specific version.

    This happens usually when a change is made to a field in the metadata that are selected in the preset. For example, I had a similar problem because my metadata preset 2012 had the IPTC Image section selected by mistake, with all fields in this section anywhere in the parameter preset. Then when I started to add GPS data and geocoding reverse and began to fill in the location, the preset metadata returned to "none" because I had changed a field in this section IPTC, and so the preset applied was no longer valid. Note, however, that, even if the name of the preset returns to 'none', all the original data applicable by the predefined (with the exception that you changed) remains.

    To check your own preset, make sure the fields that you don't change are selected.

  • Script that export two separate PDF files of paper with two pages AND change the name of the file, the number two of the PDF

    OBS: Script InDesign CS3:

    I have a document with two pages but a file name!

    I need a script which

    1 export the two pages in format PDF separated two - so NOT a single PDF file with two pages but two PDF files

    2. the first PDF file must have the same name as the document - for example .indd13ESW110020216TC0-> ESW110020216TC013.pdf

    3. the second PDF file will be added to the last number - so .indd14ESW110020216TC0-> ESW110020216TC014.pdf

    Is it possible to integrate this script:

    var doc = app.activeDocument;
    var _PDFfile = new File('\\\\testserver\\' + app.activeDocument.name.replace (/\.indd$/, '.pdf'));

    var _PDFExportPreset = app.pdfExportPresets.item('MyPdfSetting');
    if (_PDFExportPreset == null){
       alert('PDF Export Presets not found');
       exit();
        }
        app.pdfExportPreferences.pageRange = PageRange.ALL_PAGES;
        doc.exportFile(ExportFormat.pdfType, _PDFfile, false,_PDFExportPreset);

  • Saving PDFs: I would like to be able to change the name of the file and the destination of the downloads without jumping through hoops.

    I download a lot of PDF files and I organize their file name. I want to record on my computer to read later. When I have a PDF document is opened in the browser, it's particularly embarrassing. As it is, I have two options:

    Save the file:
    This automatically sends the file to a temporary folder to download, which Windows will not let me access without memorizing the exact location. It also saves automatically under the default file name, I never keep. If I use this option, I have to go back and manually move the file in my documents and rename it.

    Open the file:
    This opens the file in a new window from Adobe (while simultaneously recording to the same temporary folder). I have to open the file in the browser, and then open it in a new window, then hit save slot, then PDF, then change the destination folder (because the default value is the temp folder) and name of the file.

    Please, give me manual control of downloads! I want just a save as option.

    Is it possible to right click on the download link and use Save Link as...?
    Who will have the choice of "off-site" hands of Adobe.

  • What is the correct syntax to a PDF form file name in the subject line of an e-mail. Doc Javascript?

    The name of the file is not part of any form field. The name of the file will be also unique whenever the form is used. I also want the name of the file that will be followed by the expression 'evidence' returned by the customer, as in:

    Topic: Proof of Papa Murphys SALEM 8 - 30.pdf returned by the customer

    Here is my existing script, but I need to know the syntax to get the PDF file name added in the subject line.

    this.mailDoc ({bUI: true, cTo: "[email protected]", bassujetti: "proof returned by the customer", CMSG: "attached is the signed evidence.}) Please send to the graphics dept '});

    I'm not very familiar with Javascript so have tried to reconstitute it.

    Unfortunately, there is only so much you can google to get a working solution, I would suggest that you get at least a little familiar with JavaScript (there are a lot of good tutorials and books available). If you want an introduction to Acrobat JavaScript, have a look here: Beginning JavaScript for Adobe Acrobat

    There is a property of the document object that returns the name of the file. You can read the property of Doc.documentFileName here: DC Acrobat SDK Documentation

    In the simplest implementation, you can use this to enter the file name in the subject line:

    this.mailDoc({bUI: true, cTo: "[email protected]", cSubject: this.documentFileName,  cMsg: "Attached is the signed proof. Please forward to the graphics dept"});

    If you want to add more information that just the file name, you will need to assemble your subject line by using variable elements and string constants. Something like this works:

    this.mailDoc({bUI: true, cTo: "[email protected]", cSubject: "The filename is " + this.documentFileName,  cMsg: "Attached is the signed proof. Please forward to the graphics dept"});

    There is no free program to export the PDF file.

    You will need Adobe PDF Export service https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf to export the PDF file, which can be used with free Acrobat Reader DC help of Acrobat Reader | Help of Acrobat Reader DC.

  • How can I change the name of the source to PDF document?

    Mac OS X 10.10.4 Acrobat XI, worm 11.0.11

    I used the "Print to PDF" feature like the Mac OS to create paragraphs of a document Word 2011. Each paragraph should be seen or downloaded from Blackboard server at our school. Seen on the web page, every paragraph appears with a tab titled with the title of the document to the original source of the word, not with the title of the PDF file. See picture attached.Tab shows original source document.jpg

    I have 2 questions. Q1: What is the name of the part of the PDF file that displays the title of the source document? Q2: Can I change this to reflect the name of the file section, rather than the name of the original source document?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Samantha,

    As you created the other functionality of paragraphs in a larger Word Document files, they would appear with the name of the Original file only.

    What you can do to change the name of the file a name of origin is trying to save with a different name and looks so differently.

    You could also try to modify the metadata of the files section and see if that helps.

    Run the Original file > go to the file tab > properties > Description > additional metadata and then try to fill in the details mentioned here and see if that helps.

    If it does not, save them to a different name might be an option.
