Native player XI - Thinapp Office 2010 print issue

I placed Adobe Reader (XI) in our image of parent since I couldn't the thinapp version to work with forms on the Web.  I have MS Office 2010 Thinapp (4.7) and it works fine.

When I get a PDF in Outlook (thinapp) and doubleclick to open the file, it will open in Adobe Reader.  When I try to print, I get the properties of the printer and then click Print.  When I do that nothing only happends.  If I click with the right button on the attachment pdf in outlook and make a quick impression, it works very well.  If I save him the attachment and open it in PDF reader then it prints very well.

I can't understand why I can't print by doubleclicking on the attachment in Outlook.

IMHO, this is not problem of Thinapp

We did a well known problem with Outlook and it is the temporary directory. But if you open the PDF file in the native application and it prints, then this is the problem of the native application settings and this is when the file is on the disk, and you open the file in the native application, there is no interaction between these two applications.

May I ask why you must have Adobe Reader installed in addition to using virtulized one?

Look at this problem with Adobe Reader...

  • ThinApp mailing - Activation Office 2010 issue

    Hi all

    I'm new to this community, so forgive me if I did not follow the normal protocol with this discussion.

    Basically I have Thinapped a piece of software called Civica App. The software itself works well until I try to use the mail merge with MS Word 2010. Our Office 2010 Pro, use KMS activation and is installed in the base image. The suite Office 2010 products see the activated when launch you them manually in the VDI environment, so I know KMS works well.

    When we run the mailing of the Civica App Thinapp he launches Word 2010, merges the data into the Word template, and then launches the Office 2010 Installer. The installation program will fail and then we get the infamous "Microsoft Office is unable to verify the license for this application. A repair attempt failed or was canceled by the user. Message will now close the Application.

    Isolation mode is only passed in full to the merged on the folder %appdata%\microsoft\windows\sendto folder/sup and allowed the software write in the itinerant/persona user profile when creating new merger model files and mail (because it is where the software Civica App writes this file). MS Word 2010 features installed for the mailing and they work fine.

    I applied 2 fixes in VMWare KB1022287. I realize account this article talks of when Office 2010 Thinapped himself, but the symptoms are the same. I placed this code in the file config.xml and re-installed Office 2010 in the base image, no luck there:

    "< setting Value ="kmsserver.domain.com"/ >"
    < value = "1" / >

    I also copied and pasted the "Office2010-Osppsvc - Keys.txt" registry entries at the top of the file HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.txt of the Civic App files project and re - build the application.

    There was a suggestion to put the software to the base image, but I have another application with the same problem. This software is by computer based on licensing, so that it can not all put in the base image.

    Note: If I run the App Thinapp Civica on a physical Windows 7/Office 2010 Pro Plus machine, it works fine.

    I am out of ideas now, just so you seek advice if anyone else has experienced this?

    Thanks - Steve.

    OK, if you use civic App ThinApp package with natively installed Office 2010, and on some machines, you get a license error. By default, civic App Launches native binaries of Office in the virtual environment. You can modify package.ini to run Winword in the native environment, and I hope that the license error can be avoided. For example:

    VirtualizeExternalOutOfProcessCOM = 0
    ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions = Winword.exe
    ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault = virtual

    Here's an example of doing something similar:

  • Thinapped MS Dynamics AX 2009 and native Office 2010

    Hello

    We have thinapped MS Dynamics AX 2009 SP1 RU6. If we open the MS Word files via the management of internal documents of AX (Office 2010 installed physically) whenever the MS Office configuration window appears. After 1 minute or 2, he finished and MS Word opens the document as expected. Of course this is not the case if the AX Client is a native installation.

    What can I do to get rid of this problem?

    Thanks for your help!

    Best regards

    Roland

    Hi Ronald,.

    Please add the lines below in the package.ini under [Build Options]. Rebuild the ThinApp running the build.bat file and test it after the removal of any existing sandbox.

    VirtualizeExternalOutOfProcessCOM = 0

    ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions = WINWORD. EXE
    ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault = virtual
  • Break-in Thinapp Office 2007 Win764bit with Office 2010 installed

    Hello, we have a use case where some Excel documents can be run in Office 2007.  Therefore, I decided to just Excel 2007 or Office 2007 thinapp.  All of our VDI boxes already have Office 2010 installed in native mode.

    Office 2007 thinapp well, but now we have another problem.

    Whenever the user opens all excel documents, it opens Excel 2007 instead of Excel 2010.  The user wants to open Excel 2010 whenever he opens an excel document.  However, the user is aware that he must run Excel 2007 first of all, every time he wants to open those special few Excel documents.

    But, once that Excel 2007 is broadcast to its VDI box, open excel documents eventually call Excel 2007 instead of Excel 2010.

    Is there a solution to this problem?  I suppose that this will be a registry change, but don't know where.

    Thank you!

    > Whenever the user opens all excel documents, it opens Excel 2007 instead of Excel 2010.  The user wants to open Excel 2010 whenever he opens > all excel document.  However, the user is aware that he must run Excel 2007 first of all, every time he wants to open those little special Excel > documents.

    > But once Excel 2007 is broadcast to its box VDI, opening all excel documents will eventually call Excel 2007 instead of Excel 2010.

    1. in the statements above, as I understand it is that the user wants to open most documents in Excel 2010, only a handful of some of the documents should open in Excel 2007. And current behavior in your environment, it's that all documents will open in Excel 2007. Is there a difference in behavior if Excel 2007 is running or not at this time, when the user double-clicks a document (opening).

    2. in addition, I you recommend to check the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.xls subkey and get the "Excel.Sheet.x" (where x is a number) and then find the value of HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Excel.Sheet.x\Shell\Open\Command, which usually a file path, which makes this point in your case, if it is Excel 2007, then change it so that it points to Excel 2010 and test it.

    Thank you.

  • Office 2010 native thinapped and the Server 2003 terminal server, default programs

    Hello, I have problems with 2 versions of office again. I have 2010 is installed natively on the terminal server server and thinapped version of Office 2003. I am not having success trying .doc, .ppt .xls etc to open in Office 2010 by default for all users. Don't know if it's problem of thinapp, but any help would be appreciated. I tried to use the CDSA in installation mode command, but did not help.

    Did you use thinreg.exe to save on Office 2003 or the MSI packaged? If so, and if you have file types = and ObjectTypes = entered for your entry Points to register the specified file types and the types of objects to the package. Simply remove the = and ObjectTypes = entered the package.ini file types and rebuild. Now you can always use thinreg or MSI to create shortcuts to Office 2003 but leave any file associations types intact.

    My printer driver C4380 to work seamlessly with MS Office 2007. After installing MS Office 2010 I find there seems to be a conflict between the HP printer driver and print MS office dialog box. For example print double-sided is very difficult. I have to fix double-sided in the dialog boxes and then the MS Office dialog box seems to replace the HP printer driver and print the second series of pages on the opposite side in reverse, which I can't seem to change.

    Is there a setting in the dialog box HP or MS Office that I'm missing?

    Hey David,

    This problem only occurs in Office 2010? Is also double-sided printing the only question? try ingnoring the word 'Set' and rather go in my printer properties, select the finishing tab and select "print on both sides (manually). This should copy double-sided working properly.

  • Issue PDF Maker - component software plug-in is not found in the adobe folder, does not work in MS Office 2010.

    Hi guys,.

    In recent years, I am using Adobe Acrobat Reader (IX, X, XI) on my Sony Vaio.

    It has been integrated with MS Office 2010 and worked perfect with Outlook, Word and Excel.

    Last week, I had serious risks with my laptop and had to do a clean installation of Windows 7 64-bit.

    I installed all the software in the back (end point of Eset Antivirus 5, MS Office 2010 32-bit, etc.) and in the end, yesterday

    I finally installed Adobe Acrobat Reader (free) XI. Then I noticed with disappointment that there is no tape of Adobe.

    I have everything mentioned here fact PDFMaker unavailable | Office 2007, Office 2010 | Acrobat 9, X, Acrobat Acrobat XI

    including instalation in a simplified mode, but it don't work for me.

    The above path in the link does not exist in my computer "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat [9.0 or 10.0]\PDFMaker\Office'. ]"

    I can find only: "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader"-a path to the AR app. There is no record of PDFMaker to all.

    And another path: 'C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0\Replicate' - Replicate is the only record less "11.0".

    Do you have any idea what I might do to install PDFMaker module and use it with MS Office 2010?

    Sorry for my bad English.

    I will be very gratefull for help.

    If you have all the products Adobe Reader on your system, you have problems. Adobe accurate should not have more than one copy of an application on their system.

    Player doesn't have a plug-in for MS Office of any version.

    Acrobat only has a plug-in for MS Office. New Adobe does not support more than one copy of Acrobat on a system. And if you dare have the reader on the same system, then, Acrobat and Reader should be to the same major version.

  • Virtualization for Office 2010 issue.

    Hi all.  I'm new to ThinApp and try to virtualize Office 2010.  I followed all the steps in the blog, as well as some of the other tips.  I used a Windows XP VM to virtualize, and I can run Office applications on other XP machines.

    When I click on help in one of the Office applications, Excel goes into a setting mode, then I get various error messages:

    1st error is

    Microsoft Office Excel MUI (English) 2010

    Error 1719.  The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.  This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode or if Windows Installer is not installed properly.  Contact your support team.

    The 2nd error is:

    CLView cannot display help.  The feature is not available.

    I tried the XP workstation I installed on the desktop and am able to successfully launch the help files.  I did not open one of the applications during the capture process.  Installation on the Workstation Service is running, and I activated CLView.exe in the package.ini, but none of it worked.  I did search but did not find anything that helps.

    Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Dave

    Dave,

    It is a known problem in 4.6.1, please wait for a fix in future releases.

    Thank you

  • ThinApp'd Microsoft Office 2010 without closing all processes

    I posted this on the Blog of VMware Thinapp, but I wanted to make sure that discussions of VMware had it as well.

    I virtualized Office 2010 with Thinapp 4.6 and all applications seem to run "buglessly" However xxx.dat remains in memory after the closure of all (Office 2010).  I added VBscript code to close xxx.dat on LASTPROCESSEXIT, but the process continues to run in memory.

    The VBscript work without fault of the other Thinapp took packages that I created.  See below:

    Function OnLastProcessExit

    Set WshShell = CreateObject ("WScript.Shell")

    WshShell.Run "taskkill /F /IM Office.dat".

    End Function

    Any suggestions?

    Yes, OnLastProcessExit is called when the last exit of the process. The process can be any process that you started (for example, Word), or a child process. Suppose you launch Word, and Word starts a child process. And then you quit Word, but the child process, which continues to operate. The Word exit action does not trigger OnLastProcessExit, because it is not the last process stops, as the child process is still running.

    Something like this seems to be happening in your case. The fact that you always see a running Office.dat process means that not all processes have left again.

    It would help if we knew what virtual .exe was running. This is dll_dump.exe, it will show what virtual .exe is running. When a virtual application launches a .exe that is stored inside the package, the process will be displayed as Office.dat.

  • with a record of the actual computer in Office 2010

    Hello.
    I'm trying to virtualize Office 2010.
    I want to reduce the size of the tray to sand. I noticed that %SystemRoot%\WinSxS records have a lot and write copy isolation mode. On most computers, these folders and files are created in the sandbox.
    If I value Merge and delete the contents of these folders in project - then he would use those of the real computer, it might be a problem on some computers?

    Thank you.

    Best regards, John

    John,

    Has given it a try to see what is happening with Office 2010 ThinApp. I'm running into issues at the launch of Office, a configuration window opens and the end with Error 1719. Suggests to do not to remove the contents of the folder WinSxS of Office 2010.

  • Virtualized Office 2010 cannot verify the license

    We have Office 2010 ThinApped and functional / full license. Then, for example if SharePoint Designer 2010 is installed, we get the error when opeing a Office 2010 applications.

    "Microsoft Office is unable to verify the license for this product. You will need to repair the Office program by using the control panel. »

    I found the following KB that supports what we are seeing. That means there is a solution for this?

    One Office 2010 product virtualized family may not start or end with an error, if deployed on an operating system that was already a component of Office 2010 installed in native mode. To do this, file a request for assistance from VMware Support and quote this article (1022287) Knowledge Base ID in the description of the problem. For more information, see how to submit a request for assistance.

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1022287

    Yes, there is a limitation at the moment. However, there is a patch available with the next version of ThinApp, where you can have locally installed Office 2010 and the 2010 virtualized packages.
