NB200 - can I run Toshiba Windows Recovery?

I have a 4 GB USB key and there are 2 DVD toshiba recouvery disks. My plan is to create an iso image on the 4 GB key for a disk on my desktop, copy it to USB. Mount a virtual drive on the NB200 on the USB and run the install from the old Windows xp. Reason is that I can't get the USB drive to boot itself. in any case do you think my plan would work?

A problem is that I don't know what I'll do if he asks me to insert the disc 2 from my USB stick only big enough for 1 disc. Disc # 2 just features additional or is it necessary for the installation?

Hi Zoniguy,

I checked the NB200 user manual and the fact is that it of not possible to create a bootable USB key. You can only recover Windows using the Toshiba recovery disc or HARD drive recovery directly (depending on the model you have).

Son with other words you need a CD/DVD USB external drive to restore the factory settings.

So in your case I would first read the operating instructions! It contains important information concerning this procedure, how to do this.

    Hello

Press 0 (zero) key, turn on the laptop, then release the button Zero when appears the Toshiba logo.

If this does not work, go to the start menu by pressing F8 when Windows starts booting, then go to Windows Recovery Options. You can also run Recoveyr from here (if its Vista).

  • NB550D - can't find Toshiba HDD recovery software

    Hello

Several days ago, I bought a Toshiba NB550D netbook. He had Windows Starter pre-installed, but I wanted to try Linux. I installed Linux and, of course, left the recovery partition. Now, I would return for Windows.

I would like to restore the software preinstalled on the hard drive, but I can't find the disk recovery software HARD Toshiba which could install on a newly installed Windows and restore the system from the hard drive. Where can I find it?

I have a whole score necessary for recovery, nothing moves or deleted.

    Enormously grateful for the help
    Toshiba NB550D user

    Hello

Toshiba HDD recovery software can be launched via the advanced version preinstalled Windows boot menu. In other words, this feature works with OS preinstalled only.

Now you have installed another OS (Linux) and this means that you can start t HARD drive recovery option more. HARD drive recovery partition is not enough to do.

Have you created a bootable USB key using the recovery media creator before installing Linux? If so, you can use this stick now to restore the original settings. If you don t have that stick you can order recovery media here:

  • I can't run Toshiba Upgrade Wizard driver update or after installing Win 7

    Hi all

I recently bought and installed windows 7 (yesterday). I thought I was ready, looked at the Toshiba site, the page inform me as to what I have to do during the installation of Windows 7, but what I saw was that I have to execute these things until I'm actually updating!

It says on the Web page "after getting the Windows 7 package, run it... "Now, I read that to mean after installation. So now, I have already installed windows 7, but I had not updated my drivers, or updated some other features (such as bluetooth)

How can I improve what needs to be upgraded without having to re - install vista? Which is not "really an option I used an upgrade of windows 7 so that I don't lose any of my programs or files, and so back to vista would say I would lose all the..."

I need help please as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Thank you
    Denno

    Hi Denno,

Just a simple question: Toshiba laptop what you have?
I ask this because maybe this isn t Windows 7 supported model and you need to use the Vista drivers or collect new Windows 7 driver by yourself.

If you are upgrading to Windows 7 it doesn't automatically update your drivers, etc.. You must do it yourself!

    Do not follow exactly...

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

If your system uses to work properly, what do you think might have happened to her since the last time, that it did not work properly?

If there is a problem starting, XP is configured to automatically try to start again and you can stuck in a loop not being able to go beyond the screen boot options, or none of these startup options you choose will work only.

Sometimes, when XP has a problem starting or falls down and tries to start again, it will give you a "short" menu of boot options and none of them will appear to be good to get your system going again.  You have tried them all!

The options are similar to the Advanced Boot Options menu XP, but the only option that you need (disable automatic error system reboot) are not offered, because XP went too far during the boot process and offers a limited number of boot options.

If this is the case, you must call Options menu advanced boot yourself until you do not see the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

When you get the XP Advanced Options correct start menu you want to see, he has options on it like these:

    Safe mode
    Safe mode with networking
    Safe mode with command prompt

    Enable Boot logging
    Enable VGA mode
Last good Configuration known (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
    Debug mode
Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Start Windows normally
    Reset
    Return to OS Choices Menu

You need to choose in this menu is the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

Then if XP does not start normally, you will see an error screen with information and clues about the problem and then you can decide what to do next.

If you do not see the automatic restart on system failure option turn it off, you must reset your system and start typing the key F8 on the keyboard until you see her disable automatic restart on system failure option.

If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again and start tapping the F8 key with more urgency (earlier and more frequently) until you see disable automatic restart on system failure, and then select.

You must keep trying the F8 menu until you see disable automatic restart on system failure option, and select it.

If your system has a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), we need to know what the screen says:

Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:

    http://TechRepublic.com.com/i/tr/downloads/images/bsod_a.jpg

Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).

Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.

If it looks like there is some kind of name listed in the STOP message file, send this line also.

Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

Answering queries and results report of the disable automatic restart on system failure screen and you can decide what to do next.

  • Can I run a Windows 2003 on VMWare Server with a date system different from that of my current operating system?

    Hi guys,.

I would like to know if I can install Windows 2003 server using VMWare and run it with a date different system than my current operating system? Is this possible? A quick response would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Akshay

So I guess you are trying to run a virtual of Windows machine running at a date other than the ESX host and the rest of your network. Am I wrong?

    In this case:

-Do not use VMware time. If you have installed VMware tools open properties of VMware tools on the Options, tab uncheck the option of time synchronization

-From the services control panel access services 'Windows Time' and set it to disabled and do not forget to stop the service. The service name is W32Time, but its full name is 'Windows Time'

That sound again to the top of Firefox profile manager.

  • Windows Virtual PC can be run on Windows 7 Home Premium?

Windows Virtual PC is compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium?
Everything I've seen indicates that XP Mode only works on Windows 7 Professional or ultimate edition, but I would like to know if I can just install Windows Virtual PC on Windows 7 Home Premium and then install my own copy of my old XP machine.  I know that there is another program called Virtual PC 2007, but I have not seen anything to indicate that it is compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium.
Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks - dani

    Hi Dani,

XP mode only works on the teacher/business or ultimate edition.

But you can install the Microsoft Virtual PC on your Home Premium if your CPU/BIOS support VT and install your old XP in a new virtual machine.

  • How can I run a program Windows Vista Windows 7?

How can I run a window vista program in a window 7?

Many programs of Vista will install and work without problems under Windows 7. If you find difficulties try compatibility mode:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows .

You can also check the compatibility of programs on the publishers program Web site or here:

Also, specific 64-bit programs will not work on 32-bit Windows (regardless of whether it is Windows Vista or Windows 7, etc.). Most, but not all, 32-bit programs will run on 64-Bit Windows. For more information. Please see:
