NB200 unbootable.

Hello

I own a nb200 netbook and tonight it froze when I was surfing. When I try to reboot my schreen turns black (blinking cursor top left schreen).

When I try to activate the recovery (by pressing '0' or 'F2') schreen turns black with * HDD RECOVERY MODE * (schreen lower-left) and stop there.

Any body have an idea?

Greetings

Hello

Looks like a problem of HARD drive for me.
I had a similar problem with the same blinking cursor. In my case, the HARD drive died.
I had to replace the HARD drive and reinstall the system again.

In your case, I recommend to check the BIOS.
Check if the HARD drive is listed and recognized correctly. Details of HARD drive should be listed. If the HARD disk does not appear in the BIOS, then I would recommend replacement of this part.

Toshiba does not provide any software to integrate the drivers, but Toshiba provided software to create the own recovery disk (or recovery media)

In most cases the disk HARD is not found in BIOS due to the fault and therefore the laptop not found system.

Question: are you able to access the BIOS F2 key?
If so, the HARD drive is listed in the BIOS?

You can boot from another bootable media such as disk or a USB key?

I live across the computer shop where I bought a year ago, so I took on the whole, they made a check of PC and can't find anything wrong with it, the only way they could get the operating system working again was to disable the drivers for the graphics card, but also had to disable windows update to prevent it from updating the drivers.

Once the update was installed, the blue screen of death appeared again. Then I took at home so that it operated worked OK less pilots and removed the small amount of info on a memory stick, as they have advised me to do a reinstall of the software. After what same error screen appeared.
Then I connected an external hard drive made a recovery disk made the full restore, thought he had worked as the Welcome screen Toshiba confirmed few details clicked the name of the computer, etc. on finish began to load windows.

Then the same message high again its ugly head. I took it in my friends in the computer store, they have tried the same thing as me with the same result. Anyone have any ideas on how I could resolve the situation.

Hmm. Entendez_ you the new recover system solve your problem and the BSOD appeared again?
Well, sounds like a hardware problem
I think in the first step, modules memory must be checked, that it is the first part of the hardware that may be causing the BSOD.

One day I was using my NB200 and he runs the accusation, I plugged and same thing happen but even after reinserting the battery it does not start.

Plug in it for a long time doesn't warm battery or cell phone. I can only start it without a battery connected. Insertion of battery stops PC after 1 seconds and battery light flashes again after 3 seconds.

What does that mean? I tired battery put in the fridge because I read on the internet that he could solve, but no luck.

No idea how I can solve this problem.

    Hello

First of all, must know that the laptop should run fine without the battery with AC adapter plugged.
Even if the battery is defective or empty, the plugged AC adapter should feed and you should be able to turn on the laptop.

In case this isn't possible, I guess electronic power supply failure.

However, you might try the following workaround solution:
Try to propel upward and for the laptop without the starter battery.
Then go to Device Manager and uninstall the following entries under batteries:
    -Battery composite Microsoft
-Battery method to check compatible ACPI Microsoft

    Reboot the laptop.
Turn off again and insert the battery.
Power on the notebook and check if the device should work correctly.

Of course, it also would you recommend to test the laptop in the framework of another good and tested the battery.

  • NB200-12N - USB port does not work

Can you please hellp me to install it? I have download the drivers from Toshiba for my NB200
    But does not work.

    Thank you

If everything is OK and right drivers all USB ports should work. You cannot install the drivers for each port separately and force one of them to work properly. On this machine, all three ports are the same USB2.0 ports.

    Try reinstalling the chipset utility.

By the way: two other ports work well, right?

  • Failed to start on NB200

    Hi guys,.

I have a tablet of Tosh NB200 - it does not start!
The HARD drive seems failure and dropout at startup - if I hit F2/F12 it says "Please wait...". "and nothing
    If I type F8 - nothing - hold 0 to start - nothing

Any ideas? I have partmagic/magicboot but nada. IV ' e an external CD drive connected but nada! As im pissing against the wind here!

By pressing the F2 key at the beginning should allow you to access the BIOS.
If this isn't possible, you have a serious hardware problem (probably the motherboard).
Dysfunction of memory can affect the laptop as well as other parts of motherboards tiny start-up.

You can check if one of the RAM modules is achieved, if the modules are ok, he should have another question and it of really difficult to say what could be the problem exactly.
This should be checked by a technician for laptop.

  • Failed to start NB200

    Hello

My NB200 freezing on bios photo from the beginning.

There are several discussions about on various forums about people having this issue and nb200 nb205, apparently for the most part bought around August 2009. Some people have suggested 1 - to put the notbook in the freezer for 30 minutes then 2-windows and it of possible 3-implementation to date of the bios.

But when I use the toshiba bios update:
    http://www.Toshiba.fr/innovation/JSP/supportMyProduct.do?service=FR

    I get this error:

    "the incorrect rom size.

This update of the BIOS is version of WIN and must be started with Windows.
Can you start Windows or not?

  • How to turn of the NB200 - 10 G with the lid closed?

I almost always use my notebook NB200 - 10G with external monitor/mouse. And since the powerbutton is really accessible with the cover closed, it should be possible to start the computer without having to open the lid, turn it on and then close the cover. Does anyone know how to do this?

If you clear the netbook, I'm afraid there is no way to turn it on without pushing the Start button. (opening of the cover).

A far-fetched possibility is to install some sort of bouncy ball out on the Start button, close the cover and then use an air pump manual external to swell for a short while when you need to start the netbook.

But I just imagined such a solution, never tried.

However, it is sometimes possible to put the device in hibernation. In this case, if you si vous choisissez choose 'allow the network wake-up upwards' (this is not literal, I don't remember the exact words) in the menu CMOS, turning on an ADSL connected to the LAN port (or something similar), should wake up the equipment.

This can not be used if you unplug the power running all in hibernation, because allowing more upward by characteristic network leaves some active electronic parts and this drain on the battery in a few hours.

I am interested that possibility, in my view, it can be a little experience. I intend to put the netbook in a more or less hidden corner, I use also screen, mouse and external keyboard. If you do some experiments, please message results here so other people can use it.

I tried to reinstall the drivers and BIOS flashing. Also formatted my net book, passed on Windows 7 to 8.

I posted this problem in the Toshiba USA forum as well:

    Any suggestions?

    > No mouse or the touchpad are showing in Manager devices. Maybe use the wrong set of drivers?

The touchpad device should be visible in Device Manager; as a device marked with a yellow .this exclamation or unknown should be visible even if the driver would not be installed.

But if the device (touchpad) is recognized by the system, then either is disabled (in BIOS) or it malfunctions.
    Check the BIOS settings.
Here you can enable / disable the touchpad (pointing device)

  • NB200-10Z - how to restore factory settings?

    Hello

I seem to have a pretty annoying problem with the NB200 - 10Z.
The operating system is WinXP SP3.

I was looking to restore it to its factory settings by using the tools of Toshiba, pressing F8 during the boot sequence, this however does not take me to a screen where I can choose 'Repair' as online guide of Toshiba said.
My only options were by selecting start normally, or start in safe mode, safe mode with network and so on. I have consulted the original manual included with the laptop, but that doesn't make the light on the problem, in fact I found the manual to be pretty empty.
There isn't any help on formats, restore to factory or other maintenance. Disappointing.

Another option is creating a recovery disk, however, Toshiba tool will only advise that it cannot find all the stations that contain writable media, simply because the NB200-10Z is not a CD/DVD/BD drive. The only available ports are SD and USB.

So my question is, how do I format/reset to factory settings the NB200-10Z without external CD/DVD/readers writers, using the USB/SD slots? Because I can't find a way to create an ISO recovery with the Toshiba tool, which I was able to get on a bootable USB device.
And even if there is a way to do it, how do I adjust the NB200 to boot from USB? Looking at the bios settings and boot options, showed that only the LAN and HARD drive are supported.

    Greetings,

    Boris

    Hi Boris,.

Usually, if you start media recovery disk creator, you can choose on which device (CD/DVD or USB) the recovery media must be created. There you should be able to change between the CD/DVD drive and USB. If you select USB you can create the recovery on a USB media.
You can boot from that disk if you connect before you start the computer, then go to the start of the BIOS (F12) menu and then you can select the USB key.

According to the manual of the drive recovery HARD can be started while pressing the value 0 (zero) key before Windows starts.

  • Re: NB200-11 L recover disk

    Hello

My NB200 11 L is not start properly. I don't have a recovery CD. I saw that Toshiba offers a download for disk recovery service but cannot find this service in the site of toshiba UK. I'm looking in the wrong place or could someone help me to get my hands on a recovery cd?

When I try to start Notepad from a Windows Xp installation CD, I get the following error message:

A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Make sure you have enough disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message. disable the driver och consult the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video cards.

Check with your hardware vendor for updates to the BIOS. Disable the BIOS memory options such as implementing caching or shading. If you need to use safe mode to recover or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options, and then select Safe Mode.

  • Toshiba NB200 - startup problem (Windows XP) - unable to access safe mode

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba NB200 with Windows XP. When I turned on, it would not start past the first screen and I couldn't make F8 safe mode.
The only thing I can do is go into the BIOS Setup, and that's all (press F12).

The BIOS recognizes the hard drive. Then, I created a USB stick to boot from and that made me a C: quick MSDOS having first changed the BIOS to read the USB first and also updated the BIOS (Phoenix v1.6).

I'm not clear as to what I do then in the folder c: prompt will not let me run windows and shows just the files on the USB key.
Should I copy the files from windows to the USB port? In addition, how will I know if the hard drive has failed and that it is unrecoverable (I hope not)?

    Any guidance welcome!
    Thank you

    Hello

Eventually, there is no Windows OS on the HARD drive and therefore you can not start safe mode or the OS.
You have a recovery disk or you did backup the image of Toshiba on the USB flash key?

If this isn't the case, then you need to reinstall the OS of the own Windows XP CD.
You could build a clean Windows XP USB flash stick that can reinstall the OS.
I think that this should be possible since you started the laptop backpack.

Here's a nice instruction how to do this:
