Need details on statistics - Internals

Hello

I am aware of the statistics and how it helps CBO. I would like to learn more about internals of statistics, I know that Oracle
keeps some details in the views, in the columns below and metadata Partitions is also considered.

DBA_TABLES
DBA_TAB_STATISTICS
DBA_INDEXES
DBA_IND_STATISTICS

I know that it has details NUM_ROWS and LAST_ANALYZED DBA_TABLES and DBA_INDEXES.

Please provide details on the data being kept in other views.

I am aware of histograms, he maintains real details about the Distribution of data. I would like to know how the Normal statistics differs from histograms,
It uses the same method_opt parameter with different values.

  • Need details on the tablespace and storage used by the queue oracel

    Hi all

I'm working on the lines of the Oracle. I need some details about the storage space of the queues.

    1. is it mandatory that we have space separate for the queue table? What will happen if we run out of table space? Lose us data?
    2. how much storage space is required for a queue of the oracle?

    Please suggest me on this.

    Hello

No - it is not necessary to separate queue objects, you can do however purely for the simplicity of space management, but is certainly not a requirement. Space missing in a storage space for a queue is not different to press space to a normal process - Oracle will trigger an error ("ORA-xxxxx cannot extend... ") and the process trying to NQ to the queue will fail or do what it has been coded so that error." So, if your code NQ did something stupid mistake so I guess it's possible loss of data in case of error (not only exhausted space) but in general I'm expecting the process to report the error and stop.

    946965 wrote:

It is depends entirely on how you plan to use the queues, queues are not generally intended for long-term data storage, they do not perform well for this - they work better with the message in. message on (enqueue | dequeue) so unless you intend to leave messages in the queue for long periods of time I expect no significant space consumption. But only you guys can really work it to according to the type of user data and how long messages remain in the queue.

There are some useful notes on My Oracle Support on the management of the space occupied by the queues which is very important for performance, for example
How can I reduce the high watermark (HWM) of advanced queue objects? (Doc ID 421474.1)

    Hope this helps,

  • need details for yellow interfaces

    Hello

can someone please explain on yellow interfaces in odi.

Y at - there is no major difference it compare to normal interfaces.

    Kind regards
    SH.

    Hi HS,.

They are temporary interfaces and a new feature in 11g to get around the need to fill the temporary tables, they will produce online select statement (a little like what did OWB) and reduce generation of newspapers and access disks when done correctly.

    Please take a look here:

  • Equium L40-10 X: need details on memory

I think to upgrade the RAM on the above, but can't find the model or specification on the UK site (other members of the family range Equium are in the "Portable computers" section of the Web page, but my model is not frustrating!).

I am particularly interested because I want to get the right type of memory (original or generic) - users can help me on this?
My main reason for increase the RAM memory, is that the laptop seems desperately slow with 1 GB of ram standard which I think is mounted 2 x 512 MB.

If all users have other tips to speed up the laptop, let me know.

By the way, turning takes about 50-60 seconds and shutdwon 40-50 seconds, is this normal.
The laptop is currently to form specifications with.

    Don t found the Equium L40 - 10 X but 10U.
However, the two laptops are identical.

    According to [this | http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=35780&ft=m&st=3] page, you can use DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) 200 - PIN SODIMM

  • E330 - battery drains, need details on which devices and services to turn off

    Hello guys!

It's a well known problem that in some cases the battery drains while the unit is turned off. I read the forums and know I have to disable some devices. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to / how to find them on my laptop.

I have a 8.1 Windows freshly installed on my PC, no bloatware on it (yet). So everything I do I do it myself, by the Manager of devices etc. But where to start? I know my laptop automatically starts up when I "opened". This doesn't happen, if I remove the battery and put it again. So there must be a small current flowing? Maybe it's my guilty?

    Please help me guys CIHI.

Thank you very much in advance! Good day!

Show of rapid tests in the BIOS disable "Wake On Lan on battery", keep it on AC only or turn off completely. Helped me a lot. But there is still some small brains. Well. Nothing is perfect.

I just want to know this laptop inspiron 15 3521 have expansion port for hard drives or not?

It supports a single internal hard drive only.  The only way to add another is to replace the optical drive with a disk hard using a third bay adapter.

  • Need details on Windows drivers

    Original title: drivers

That said it is Microsoft Certified, is it good or what?     Windows 7 Driver Downloads

    On Windows 7 drivers:
This page talks about Windows 7 drivers and how to identify and download them. This also explains the importance of updating your drivers and some of the challenges with Windows 7 drivers update. Note: You can automatically download Windows 7 drivers by downloading the Driver Update Utility below.

Recommends: Download drivers update utility to identify the Windows 7 drivers missing or obsolete.

Not really sure what you're asking, but Microsoft Certified driver have been tested and is accepted as being compliant and no problems known.

A developer of equipment is not required to submit test pilots, but by default, Windows will block the uncertified driver installation while the earlier version just warn you that they are not tested.

You do not explain what Driver Update Utility you talk, some hardware manufacturers provide a monitoring package that will check that there are no newer drivers available for their device. It's a moot point if it's always a good idea or if you should update only when YOU decide that it is necessary.

What you should avoid always is commercial research of 3rd party driver because they often get it wrong.

  • Understand the _definst_ folder, I need details please

    Hi all

I understand with FMIS we place of our media files inside the _definst_ folder that is located in another folder (for example, a called 'flow') that is located in the applications folder (path: .../applications/streams/_definst_)

Do I understand correctly that _definst_ can be named with any name, as opposed to _definst_?

And if this is true, all I have to do to make sure that the video is should specify the actual name of the folder (for example: .../applications/streams/motorcycles)?

    UPDATE:

I think I read some bad things. Going through the tutorial of Tom Green, I think I've won more understanding. Please let me know if it is more correct.

The _definst_ folder would unfold in this path: .../applications/streams/motorcycles/_definst_

the idea being that the stream folder contains a number of other files, /boats, /motorcycles, cars, and in each of these cases goes a _definst_ folder in which is located the appropriate support?

I learn and wanted to make sure that I understood this correctly.

    Thanks in advance!

    Sincerely,

    wordman

_definst_ is mainly used when you do not give your connection request an instance name. So:

RTMP://111.111.111.111/MyApplication connects to the instance (default instance) _definst_.

    Whereas if you use:

RTMP://111.111.111.111/MyApplication/superVideo_v1 connects to the instance of superVideo_1.

Why it does this interest you? because you can separate your users to the forums. Like the rooms in an application of cat or something like that. Maybe you have a set of videos and you want to separate your users 'pay' and 'paid' or something. Then put downs res videos in the folder unpaid:

install the directory of the FMS/applications/myApplication/flow/paid

    and

install the directory of the FMS/applications/myApplication/flow/paying

Kind of thing. To check if you have not seen them yet, there are a lot of tutorials here: http://www.fmsguru.com/tutorials.cfm
