Needing after effect CS5/CS5.5?
Hello!
For my composition classes, the teacher requires us to save in CS5 or CS5.5, but lowest my original version of After Effect can save is CS6. I understand based out of others that I need to download AE CS6 record in CS5.5 or, better still, AE CS5 to save in CS5. Can I have access to these versions of the program with the creative cloud? If not, what are my options?

No, these versions are pre CC, and no, there is no way to buy at this point neither you right to downgrade if you were to buy CC. Sorry, short of use trial versions for as long as they last, or find a used license there is simply no way.

After Effects CS5 - Keylight 1.2 pipette crashes on me!
Recently, I worked on an independent project and I created some green screen footage and tried to edit it in After Effects.
After that I added the effect 1.2 Keylight to my images, I went to the Eyedropper to click on it and then it crashes on me and gives me an error and stops completely After Effects!I managed to take a screenshot of the error popup so that way you guys can see for yourselves.
I thought that, maybe, it has the. MP4 video. So, I converted the video to a .avi file and tried to apply the same Keylight effect again. Once I clicked on the pipette, it gave me the same message again and stops After Effects. I thought maybe it was only the video files that cause problems? So, I thought I tried a green screen image, and the error came again. Maybe it's the project file? Nope. I started a new publication and added in the video in the composition, added tried 1.2, Keylight effect by selecting the pipette and once more... it still gives me the error.
The problem is not video or image. It's the Keylight 1.2 pipette that is causing the error. I thought that, maybe, I need to update my laptop? Updated, still the same problem. The next thing I did was trying to find a way to solve this problem online. I noticed that there is an update for Adobe After Effects CS5 update 10.0.02. So, I updated to After Effects and restarted my laptop. When I went back in After Effects and still applied the same effect and when I tried selecting the eyedropper... gives me an error... once again.
I'm sorry if this sounds a little repetitive, but I wanted to be thorough in my explanation that I can try to find a solution to this problem. I really need this to work again because I'm working on a very important project. It's weird, the Keylight 1.2 never gave me any problems in the past. It works perfectly at the time. So, why he does not correctly now?

Let me guess, you use Yosemite or newer on your operating system?
If so, be aware that CS5.5 and earlier are not supported on this OS, so should have weird bugs.
That being said, go to your preferences and change the use System Color Picker setting and see if that helps.

- CS6 will save as the Witch of the previous version is CS5.5

Simply having all these versions on your system or to find someone who has all these versions to help you. You only need the .aep filename. You don't need the layer source footage to save a previous version, but you will need the original source footage to nothing to do with the project.

You can buy only the current versions and which means CS6. Your only chance to get CS5.5 would be a license used by someone else, but even in this case, you will need to make a good transfer of Adobe product license.

PSD Photoshop CS6 in After Effects CS5.5
Hello
Our graphics Department have recently install Photoshop CS6 version 13.0 x 64. I'm going to open a .psd file, they created in After Effects CS5.5 version 10.5.1.2. However, I get the following message:
"After effects error: could not open (.psd name) because it is not a valid Photoshop document." (51: 19) »
Is there some way they can save their files in photoshop differently so that they will open or do I need to upgrade to After Effects CS6?

I've never met such a problem and switch between the two versions on a regular basis. On the machine, I'm working on right now I have CS6 installed creative cloud, but most of my AE work in CS5 or 5.5 because customers, I work for no upgarded yet. But all my PSD work in CS6.
Is there anything unusual in the file, 3D content IE? As Mylenium says 3D PS has changed and is no longer supported by AE. If not, you move between platforms, IE Windows to Mac? Is the file has a valid PSD extension?

No Audio in after effects CS5.5 (Even after rendering)
I currently have the Trial Version of After Effects CS5.5 installed. I'm under a bad audio problem. For the first 2 days, that I used it, the sound was fine, he played automatically and I didn't even have to make the first to get it. Then, on the third day I had this day and the audio just hard did not. I have search on the forums and google, and nothing helps. I tried to make (with audio), using clips and different video files and same reinstaling the trial. Nothing has worked. The sound plays fine RAM Preview and when I double click 'L', the soundwaves do not show, and that they are accurate when played on the preview. I tried WMV, AVI files and mp4, which none have worked. I can edit and add effects and import the photo and other files fine, but audio does not work. I have no audio playing normally.
I know that it is not usual to ask questions about the trial, or even to have the answers, but it's important because I want to buy After Effects CS5.5, and before I do, I need to know whether it was a computer problem, or if I did something to mess up the program, or if there is even a way to solve it. I don't want to buy it and realize that I can not even use it with audio for some reason any.
P.S. I'm pretty new to this, so if you blows me with complex, very detailed instructions, please try to make it simple enough, or simply explain it well.

It is from a camera not supported or something else happens on your system, in particular CoDec conflict. Eitehr way, you need to provide much more information.

Cannot install after effects CS5 trial on Windows XP (64-bit)
I tired to install the trial of AE CS5 on my computer yesterday and it had the error message "Adobe After Effects CS5 is installable only on 64-bit systems." My computer is pretty crappy, but it IS a 64-bit system. Here are my characteristics of this old pc budget...

Processor AMD Athlon 64 3500 +
2.20 GHz, 1.18 GB of RAM
I knew that I would have problems with this program, but I need to at least get it installed so I can work on my homework to animation. If you can help at all, it would be greatly appreciated.

XP64 is not supported and that's it. It is also mentioned somewhere in the page FAQ and system requirements. Sorry, disagree.

After Effects CS5 hangs at startup
After Effects CS5 (MAC, German trial version) needs 5-10 minutes to start, hangs on the message 'MediaCore wird initialisiert. On another Mac (macbook small!), it works fine. I did a reinstall, no effect. No plugins are installed.
Thank you guys. It looks like both you have a similar problem with a third party AVI codec. If please remove or uninstall third party such as DivX, XVid, AVI codecs etc. of your system and try again AE.
You can also temporarily disable these components by closing all QT apps and then drag the components out of the Library/QuickTime folder on your boot drive. If it works, try adding them back one by one until it fails again. This is the codec problem.

After Effects CS5 stuck to the Windows 10 1511 homescreen
I had been using After Effects CS5 on Windows 10 smoothly for several weeks. A few days ago I have upgraded to Windows 10 version 1511 (a major update), and now when I launch After Effects, the splash screen is stuck at "Initializing MediaCore." It never makes it beyond that. I searched and tried all the troubleshooting methods that I could find. I have reinstalled QuickTime. I reinstalled After Effects. I've updated After Effects. I have reset and delete the Preferences folder. I have disabled the firewall. I rebooted. I went through the suggested troubleshooting steps.
Any suggestions or ideas on what could be the problem? On a perhaps related note, after I updated Windows 10, I had a very strange problem a few times: when I started in Windows, the music started to come out of the speakers. A little later, I heard static-y voice in speakers. It was like this by the blue, no Spotify or anything I know. My laptop picked up somehow radio waves? Was it a bizarre kind of spyware? Since then, I scanned with spyware. Thanks for reading!
I found the problem after watching Process Monitor from Microsoft. I had to uninstall Matrox codecs that I had installed quite earlier. I tried to uninstall/reinstall Quicktime, but failed to remove the Matrox codecs.

None of my text is rendered. After Effects CS5
I'm doing a minute-long video portfolio that uses animations, fades and interpolations of base. Any format I save it in, After Effects render text, but which makes all the rest. I use After Effects CS5. I am new to the program so I don't know if I am missing a setting, but I can't find answers.

Hmmmm... I forgot that if CS 5.5 had Guide layers in it, but she certainly your text layers are somehow given in the form of guide layers - it seems that they make. See Help on your machine AE 1) see if you can guide layers and 2) see if you did.
