NETGEAR CM600 speed

What is the speed of the processor (SoC) in the Netgear CM600 Modem cable 24 x 8? I know that the Netgear CM500 16 x 4 and Arris SB6183 16 x 4 modems use Broadcom chips that have the processing power of the double thread of 600 MHz. The Arris SB6190 uses a chip Intel dual-core that offers 1.2 GHz of processing power for the modem. Offers the Netgear CM600?

Same Core 600 MHz DT.

on a simple bridged modem, the processor speed is not very relevant. 600 MHz is always good, that we could get the full range of speeds in the lab tests.

have a processor of 1.2 GHz on a bridged modem won't give additional benefits. (of course having 32 channels is nice if ISP/MSO is willing to allow 32 channels on the soles of the RF)

  • problem w / Airport Extreme base station and modem Netgear broadband

I just changed to ATT Uverse to Time Warner - internet only.  With Uverse, I was using my Airport Extreme base station to create a wireless network, and it has worked well in this capacity.  When you switch to TWC, the tech got the modem (TWC allows you to buy your own modem, so I bought a Netgear CM600 a recommended model) enabled and works very well, but could not get the Airport base station to talk about her (yellow light blink on the base station).  So, he opted for a TWC wireless modem/router.  Interestingly, I found that I could plug the Airport base station in the TWC modem (without any reconfiguration, just plugged into the WAN port base station to the modem ethernet port, as I had had with Uverse equipment) and voila!  It worked immediately.

So, I called TWC to retry my Netgear modem.  I have the base station power off, plugged on the ethenet port Netgear, put back under tension and just got the blinking light.  I know that the modem does not work, because my iMac's network to the internet through the base station, for the Netgear, and go outside and I can fine surf in this way.  So it is something in the wireless configuration that must be different between the TWC modem and the Netgear modem.

Obviously, I'm not an expert at this, basic troubleshooting tips would be appreciated.  The base station functions as a router (I can connect through a port ethernet through it), it is simply not generate a WiFi network for me...

    Thanks for the tips

If your AirPort Extreme has been in its original configuration, it would act as a wireless Internet router. If you connect another router upstream to the extreme, there is work, but you'll have a condition known as: Double NAT. This isn't necessarily bad, but should be avoided if possible. To do this is simply to reconfigure the downstream router (in this case, the extreme) under a bridge. This disable its functions of routing and remove the error condition.

However, if your extreme base station has been reconfigured as a bridge, if connect you directly to a simple modem, like the Netgear CM600, then this configuration will not work because no device will provide the necessary routing functions.

It's always a good idea to perform a full power recycle your network hardware during change of equipment. Maybe that's the only thing your missed when you design your own? If you haven't done so already, please give it a try with the CM600 & Extreme combo. After return your results.

  • CM600 & CM400 security product vulnerability

Before buying the Netgear CM600, I was wondering if the CSRF / fichierlocal / XSS vulnerability has been set? The entrance to support for the problem mentions that the update must be released before the end of December. The support entry was last updated on 25/02/2016 so-called, but does not mention something on which the product (s) affected (which also includes the modem CM400) have been corrected.

With cable modems, I know the firmware of the process through each examination provider takes time. Which firmware for the CM600 is the version (s) that have been fixed this vulnerability? I have Time Warner Cable and will want to make sure that they can get firmware patched to my unit if I end up buying a.

Obviously if this security issue was not address still almost 4 months after the security validation was made, I will not buy the CM600 and also to notify people that I know with the CM400 to replace the unit.

For the owners of CM400 - what versions of firmware should they watch because it was the patched version?

I say 'versions' as I know that the version numbers may vary by ISP.

    Hello mediatrek

Yes, we have a solution, but it will take time to go through the certification, so I have no ETA on when the firmware will be available with the fix.

  • On R7500/R7800 slow download speeds

    Hello:

R7500 and R7800: I see slow speeds (wireless). Wired devices do not exhibit this problem.

After that spend many hours of research and talking with support (which replaced my unit) I found that the problem is with the WAN port. The problem does not exist when you use a switch between the router and the modem netgear. I saw several people in the forums to have this problem so I hope this helps.

I don't think that this workaround is however acceptable.

Is this something that can be fixed with a firmware version?

Steps to reproduce in my case are very simple:

1 - R7500/R7800 connect to a POE Ubiquiti - 24 - 12 10/100 (in my case I have internet citiwide wireless). Make sure your download speed is greater than 20

2 - test the wireless and wired with the netgear router and the router netgear download speeds.

    M.

NETGEAR has released a new firmware for the R7800 that solved the problem (Fw 1.0.2.04)

  • Slow speeds on WNR2000v5

Is it possible to increase my Internet on my Netgear WNR2000v5 speed. I'm supposed to receive 5 Mbps, but I only get .6mbps. Can someone help me?

I'm just a new modem from my ISP, now I'm up to 5 MB/s. I guess it was just the modem.

  • I'm due for an upgrade?

    Greetings community,

I will have questions to my gears up to what I'm supposed to get wireless.

Let me start by saying a week before, everything was fine. I was on Verizon Fios 50/50 Mbit/s and I was getting pretty close to this reliable speed throughout the House.

Two things have changed: my ISP and the Modem.

My ISP is now TWC with the plan of 200 / 20 Mbit/s, and I bought my own (a Netgear CM600 cable modem).

I have a TC, A1355 (3rd generation) as the router. The TC and the Modem are in the office in a corner of the House.

I also have an Airport Express (2nd generation) to extend the wireless network (bridged mode) located in the heart of the House. It is also used for the audio Airplay through the home theater system.

I also have a second terminal Airport Express (1st gen) located in the children's play room, adjacent to the office. (Exaggeration?)

Currently I have my download speeds are fluctuating from 20 Mbit/s to 70 Mbps... except in the office, I can get up to 120.

After the TWC has been installed, I did a Factory Reset by default on all 3 airports and set up to start from scratch, starting with the TC and work my way down.

All three currencies are on Firmware version 7.6.4.

Any ideas on what I can try to improve the speeds throughout the House?

The 3rd generation TC would be the neck of the bottle?

What would be my best configuration?  (I also note that within the House are 4 iPhones 3 Apple TV, 2 iPad, MBP, an an XBox)

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Brian

My wifi in the time Capsule was reduced by half when I got my bump at 300/20 on TWC. I get speeds much better on the 5 GHz band so I the 2.4, but it is still not nearly 300 down. I'm trying to understand if this is a limitation of the TC, or another problem altogether. By ethernet, I have almost 350 down. Like you, he is inconsistent depending on where I am in the House. I have a 5th gen Airport Extreme to carry the rest of the way wifi.

  • I have 2 routers.  Both can have time capsule for wifi?

I have a Netgear C3000 Modem/Router, where my internet comes from the wall.  I also have a router VPN Sonicwall for work.  My sonicwall going through my Time Capsule for wifi.  Recently, I upgraded my internet speed with my ISP to 150.  When the internet is channeled through two routers, the speed is quite slow (about what it was before the upgrade).  When I get wifi directly from my Netgear, the speed is much faster.  Can I have 2 sources on the internet through my Time Capsule?  1 for the work (slower wifi) and 1 for home (faster wifi)?

Can I have 2 sources on the internet through my Time Capsule?

Unfortunately, the time Capsule cannot handle this... because it would need to have two WAN ports to be able to handle two Internet connections. Since then she has only one, you will need to decide which source you want to use with time Capsule.

  • Maximum bandwidth RVS4000

I just installed Comcast Ultra and I am able to get above 40 MB download speed when I connect a PC directly to the cable modem.  When I used my netgear router speed fell to 10 MB, I'm looking at a new router.  The netger is limited to 10 MB due to the WAN port.  I bought a RVS 4000 and I can't seem to get more than 19 MB to download.  Anyone know what the maximum download speed is for the RVS4000?  It cannot be the Mb 1000 light enabled Internet WAN port.  I also tried a Dlink DGL-4500, and he was also able to sustanin more than 40 MB.  I thought the RVS4000 was supposed to be a high range of home router.

    -Mitch

It is a known problem with the RVS4000.  Most users reported a top speed "LAN WAN" of 15 to 18 Mbps.  Speed increases of 20% to 30% if you want disable the IPS feature.

This website claims that they can measure WAN routers LAN speed:

  • New network printer appears offline

I recently replaced our network with an HP MP602dn HP4250 printer.  I gave the new printer a static address to IP, mask, and gateway and adds the printer to the network Printserver (Windows Server 2003 R2).  I have this printer and a Dell 5130cdn, both connected to a Netgear Dual Speed Hub (10 / 100 Mbps DS104).  The printer works fine, for the most part.  Several times a day it will appear 'offline' on the print server, but the printer screen shows "Ready".  I discovered that I have "reset" the Netgear hub by unplugging and then reconnecting and then printers start to work again.  I replaced the hub but the problem perisists. This not moved when the HP 4250 was in use.  HP 602 network port speed was set to "Auto", but I changed it to "100 tx Full" and the problem persists.  I even turned off the "Auto Sleep" mode.  Does anyone have a solution?

After replacing the hub with a switch, the problem has been resolved.

  • Diagnosis copper wire test on SG200-26 Gigabit Switch - what is the "open cable" telling me?

I have installed a Switch Cisco's Gigabit SG200-26 to the installation of the client.  They have a severe latency on their network, so I was hoping the switches capacity could help me track down the problem with the statement.  There are 7 computers in white box on the switch.  Six computers have been sold at the same time and have the same motherboard.  A computer seventh was sold a few years later, and has a different motherboard.  All computers have the NETWORK card on the motherboard.  All seven computers come with ' Open Cable - cable is connected on one side "when the analysis of the copper is run under the Diagnostics tab.  Each test has an inclination of NS 8 pairs at least three reports four sons.  A router, server Dell, Cisco wireless router, used only as a point of access, an old computer (about 10 years) and a small Netgear switch good show all in the analysis of copper.  Each node is except the switch Netgear gigabit speed and the old computer.  None of the ports that are attached to the computers display errors.

Thinking that maybe the wiring of the installation is all bad, I took a computer to the switch and connected a connecting cable of known network and in a good 5' from the computer to the SG200-26 Gigabit Cisco Switch and then I did a test of copper.  The results were the same - "Open Cable - cable is connected on one side.

I am completely confused by all this.  First of all, what exactly does "Open Cable - cable is connected on one side?  These computers can access the Internet and the server and sometimes seem to have hours of access to resources, so I know both ends of the cable are connected.  And what is the inclination was trying to tell me?  Is it possible that all 7 computers, which are Windows 7 32-bit and a couple of 64-bit operating systems have a driver problem?

Help here would be most appreciated.

  • Nighthawk Netgear 8500 8 X slow speeds

    Hello

Set up: desktop pc, internet cable speed up to 100 Mbps. Modem: Arris SURFboard SB 6141 Motorlola. Router Nighthawk 8500 wirelles 8 X.

Connections: cable output on the wall of my arris modem. Ethernet cable to the wireless router. With this set up and using a turn to the internet, the wireless work works and I receive average speeds of 88 to 90 Mbps.

Here's the question: put even us as stated above. Connect my destop PC via an ethernect cable to a port on the back of the router wireless (#3). Simply by doing this simple thing and running a speed test on my internte, I get systematically 1.4 Mbps downloa and much less on my upload. Disconnect the router from my PC desktop and speed is in place.

I usually my printer, my destop PC and a top hook to turn up directly to ports eternet at the back of the wireless router - spped sucks . Could everythin for the wireless router and I get great speeds.

I Troubé shoot the modem of byu itsel use it at work and lynksys home - no problems - of my router siter.

The internet service has been strong in the region.

The ONLY thing I can think is the router itself (last software update and reset and reboot already done - without success). Is there something in the settings that I need to activate or disable? I to Extenders at home - never had any problems with them before. Suggestions? Thanks JP

    Hello

What is the version of firmware installed on your router? I have dowloanded the latest version of the firmware on the Netgear site. In my view, is the:

  • CONNECTION PROBLEMS WITH THE ROUTER (NETGEAR) - no problem with the provider of speed as it has been checked__

    • Programs you have problems with - very slow connection with all pages
    • Error messages - on the profile of my son is unable to connect at all with the error message
    • Recent changes made to your computer - windows 7 but added meeting the problem before this
    • What you have already tried the problem - claimant contacted no problem with their connection

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

    Hello

    Reinstall the NIC drivers
    Reset the router and check.

  • WiFi unstable and slow Internet high speed

    Hello world:

Recently, I am facing a problem of unstable wifi, slow speed of the internet of my macbook pro. I hope someone could help me with my problem.

    Symptom:

Internet mainly speed just unstable using a wifi connection. (no problem with wifi connection self and my wifi suddenly grave would not be)

    Example:

    • FaceTime with my friends and the connection would suddenly abandon or images & audio gets fuzzy.
    • Videos in online streaming and suddenly occurs buffering.
    • Download file of software update iPhone via iTunes, the speed is slow, he needed to take 2 h at the end and later on a window display "cannot download and check your internet connection".
    • Suddenly cannot open websites like site apple.com, google.com. Sometimes it will take more time to open Web sites.

    Hardware and software:

MacBook Pro mid-2009, OS X EL Capitan 10.11.5

    ISP: Cox, 50Mbps

    Modem & router: Netgear N450

    Test:

Turn off my wifi and connect my macbook pro with modem & router with cable, internet high speed is stable and fast. Internet speed download speed test result display is of around 60Mbps, download speed is around 8Mbps. And I tried streaming using the connection cable, there was no buffering.

I already tried the possible Solutions:

    • Restart the Macbook pro and restart Modem & router: will not work. I mean the internet will be very well at first, but later would be unstable again.
    • Reset Wireless Modem & router and change channels: useful, but not completely solve the problem. After you change the wireless channel, I tested my internet speed and the result showing 20-40Mbps (slower than 60mbps) speed download. Sometimes, the result will be like 6-8Mbps and sometimes it will be 60Mbps. If its unstable.
    • Wireless diagnosis: result indicates connection is good.
    • Called my ISP provider: they checked and said all right.

    Other Questions & details:

    • The internet is ok for most of the time. But when all of a sudden I can't open site or I can't download and streaming & FaceTime at normal speed, his frustration.
    • I thought it might be related to my hardware since its an old macbook pro. I can't run Apple hardware test because I don't have the installation disc more and my macbook pro is very old. Is it a third party software that can perform the test hardware on mac?
    • My wifi used to be very stable and I don't have to worry. Just for these last two weeks.

I really appreciate your time and help! Looking forward to any reply!

  • Why wireless speed so vary?

I have a Qosmio F20 - wireless card is Intel PRO Wireless 2200BG, and it works at up to 54 Mbps with my Netgear wireless router.

However, the speed varies - sometimes the 54 Mbps
I want to, but sometimes, 36 / 24 / 2 or even just 1 Mbit/s. Strangely, WindowsXP (actually MCE 2005) says always the signal is "EXCELLENT".

So why the speed decreases? It can vary from a couple of times per minute.

Note that this happends even if I'm in the 10 to 15 feet of the router and did not happen with my IBM Thinkpad.

THANKS FOR ANY HELP / SUGGESTIONS.

    Mike.

    Hello

Bradcom 4313 is maximum and you can't get more. This is a map of single stream, using 20 MHz channel widith.

This type of products supports a maximum connection rate between 65-72 Mbps.
