  1. Yes. This is called a hybrid network. With a wireless router that comes with LAN ports (4) which is easy to do. I use a Netgear WNR834B 802.11n router that has a LAN port. Easy to set up.

  (2) you will need to set up a simple home network and share the printer on the network from thePC to which it is connected. You can also install a print server connected to your network and it will have its own network address and be available for all the PCs on your network.

  (3) you need a wireless router (my preference is Netgear 802.11n because of the reliability, range and throughput of 300 kbs).

  I have exxplained the answers to your questions only in simple terms. I have no idea what your level of knowledge is in terms of networking (i.e. the subnets)

  I hope someone is able to help me with two questions, I have based on Chromecast and Airplay.

  Chromecast problem:
  Material: OS Android Lollipop 5.1.1 on a Sony Xperia Z2, 10 Windows on a laptop Lenovo S440 and Chromecast 1.

  Chromecast worked fine for a year with the same material. For two months, the Chromecast became unstable. When I want to stream Netflix from my Android phone then Chromecast icon is not available or the ico is available but when I select the icon disappears. I have to reset the router every day when I want to use the Chromescast. I installed the new firmware again on the router, but this has not solved the problem.   Problem of airtime

Both devices have been updated to IOS 10.0.2 and numbers still are not displayed correctly. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app on devices engineering and numbers are always blocked. I tried an old Ipad 2 which is not updated for IOS 10 and my desktop Windows 10 PC and the traffic engineering counter displays the numbers correctly. I called Netgear support, but they were not aware of this problem and so far do not have a solution. Someone has encountered this problem on their Apple devices? Thank you!   Set up: desktop pc, internet cable speed up to 100 Mbps. Modem: Arris SURFboard SB 6141 Motorlola. Router Nighthawk 8500 wirelles 8 X.

  Connections: cable output on the wall of my arris modem. Ethernet cable to the wireless router. With this set up and using a turn to the internet, the wireless work works and I receive average speeds of 88 to 90 Mbps.

  Here's the question: put even us as stated above. Connect my destop PC via an ethernect cable to a port on the back of the router wireless (#3). Simply by doing this simple thing and running a speed test on my internte, I get systematically 1.4 Mbps downloa and much less on my upload. Disconnect the router from my PC desktop and speed is in place.

  I usually my printer, my destop PC and a top hook to turn up directly to ports eternet at the back of the wireless router - spped sucks . Could everythin for the wireless router and I get great speeds.

  I Troubé shoot the modem of byu itsel use it at work and lynksys home - no problems - of my router siter.

  The internet service has been strong in the region.

  About a week ago, I bought a Netgear D6000 - 100AUS ModemRouter. I have it configured manually and everything went well, I was online in 10 minutes. After completing the configuration, I noticed the Firmware update notification on the WebUI devices. I've updated, everything went well.

  Probably the next day, I got home to discover most (if not all) connected devices had issues. The DNS servers configured in the modemrouter were not meet. I think actually fairly quickly that it could be a problem with the firmware up-to-date mixed with the old configuration data saved in the device, so I restored the factory setting and set up again (this time with the Wizard). No problems.

  I get home today, same problem. I discovered that the DNS servers configured in the modem (Googles DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) were not meet. I can work around this by assigning the DNS server on the computer or the device. DNS servers responded very well, so it was something to do with the modem.

  When this problem occurs, the routers WebUI responds very slowly. As I speak of ~ 5 minutes before I get a login prompt. And it's also across all devices. So this deffinately not a line problem, it seems more like a bug in the firmware. I was talking to a technician on the live chat and he advised me to post here. I hope that someone will see it and maybe work with me to resolve the issue.

  In addition, it is pretty weird. I have an old ISP Telstra has published ModemRouter, it is a Netgear DEVG2020 and looks like it is running similar firmware.
