NetInstall/Netrestore will not complete the boot process.

Hello world

I searched through the forums (and days of Google searches) try various process of troubleshooting with no progress. I hope someone can shed some light on what I'm doing wrong.

So I'm under OS X Server 5.1.7 (Build 15S 7055) on a iMac (21.5 inch, end 2013) OS X 10.11.6 (Build 15 G 31).

Try to get a server NetInstall if I can image a full Lab of iMacs (same model as the server)

Server runs on a closed network offering DHCP clients through a Nortel switch. No firewall, no ports blocked (no connection with the outside world). File sharing and NetInstall are on.

Clients receive IP addresses and can see each other (sharing, ping, see Manager boot images provided by the file server)

When you launch Netboot (I use the method 'hold the Option key', but I tested with "n" just with the same result) the client displays all hosted images. For my test, I use a NetInstall image built from the 'install El Capitan' downloaded application from the App Store using system image utility.

When you attempt to start the client image will display the progress under the apple logo bar and it will take about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours to fill full and won't progress of there. Sometimes the progress bar only about 3/4 of the way to make and freeze there for hours.

Here are the journal entries of NetInstall for my last test:

I know what I don't see is a BSDP DISCOVER/OFFER but I don't know why.

Verbose mode on the Client does not give me something that I can understand what it is to do (or not do).

I literally read the chapter NetInstall and followed the examples set up in OS X Server 5.0 Essentials book and I still don't see why its not working.

If anyone can enlighten us or if there is more information/papers/tips I can give you please let me know. (I hope, that I forgot to mention something that I didn't want to as it is lengthy and unreadable)

Thanks in advance.

Oh, I should mention that I did whitelist the server on the client side.

I also tested the images via NFS.

(I wanted to change this in the original post and now I can't figure out how to delete a response...)

    Rebooted PC, probably because of an update, but I also dropped the mouse wireless in the word, and I don't know if that's the problem.  To start Windows and I have three choices, but if I choose safe, last known config, or normal mode, it ends the countdown and starts, but loops to the same black screen that has the countdown.  Help!   Thank you very much.

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

    the problem is known as "boot loop" and it is generally caused by a lack of disk and file system tune up

    There are commands that can be executed in the disk prompt that will help stabilize the boot process.

    However, you need to start with any xp cd and launch the recovery console to log on to the disk system.

    then the disc prompt, run the following commands >:

    Chkdsk

    Fixboot

    FIXMBR

    (the fixmbr will provide a serious warning, but you can ignore the scarecrow)

    then the output, remove cd and the system should be able to boot normally again.

  • 6 days years Samsung Mega 6.3 - Skype will not complete the connection process

    I downloaded Skype on my Samsung Mega 6.3 new since I use Skype at work for messaging and want to be able to use it on my new phone like I did on my previous (iphone 4) when you work remotely.

    After entering my microsoft account information, it tries to connect, but starts a loop where it climbs from the home screen to the loading screen and back Skype, constantly.

    If I press the back button, it will make starting Skype and considered as being active on my header bar, but if I try to pull up, we start the loop.

    Phone AT & T. cannot change my APN settings, so change my proxy to 0 will not fix the problem.

    Have you tried to empty cache. No help.

    Have deleted and reinstalled several times now (I think I'm on 5).

    Ideas people? Or I'll just have to in the loop and wait for the next update to use this great software?

    Looks like the update today resolved my problem. I can now use Skype without any problems.

    Hello

    I suggest the following: -.

    (1) open your project in CP4

    (2) copy all slides

    (3) close the project.

    (4) create a new CP4 project with the same dimensions

    (5) paste the slides.

    Please be patient while this step happens, since you have about 100 slides.

    Once this step is complete, save the project and try to publish.

  • 11 PE will not complete the rendering process, and I did not have orange bars more work in the timeline.

    Short video, PC 7, 64 bit, i5 w / 1 T. help?

    krisrsk9

    I dug in the screenshots.

    I still want to see what looks like the project after export to define the scope of the problem. That would say a lot.

    Development of automatic generation of files Preview 1.vulnerability

    When you return a timeline content with its orange line (or red) above it, the program automatically generates the preview files. These files are the same if you return a still or video. In the case of HD, these are files MPEG2.mpeg 960 x 540 @ 29.97 progressive frames per second. Each of them comes with a companion .xmp file. The overall contribution of each may be at least 8 MB. They add up quickly and must be aimed at a disk space hard with enough free space to accept.

    Often, the program works best if all the disks scratch are directed to the same place, namely external hard drive (formatted NTFS) with all the space I have escaped.

    a. where the media Cache is made? What to do in the same place as the others. Recording location of audio previews in line are defined in Edit Menu/preferences/Scratch disks. The location of the project record is defined in the new project dialog box.

    If I remember, somewhere, you said that the Scratch disks are directed to a location with only 50 GB of free space on the hard disk. Is this correct? This could be a point of focus.

    Update 2. Properties of these .mp4 and .mov files.

    I would like to get a sample of each. Any chance you could post those samples so that I have them test in Premiere Elements?

    The above is my last thought on this. At the moment I'm not buy in corrupted files.

    Later.

    Thank you.

  • I'm having a problem reinstalling Windows XP. After formatting the disk and create partitions, it will not complete the installation.

    Problem reinstalling Windows XP

    I'm having a problem reinstalling Windows XP.  After formatting the disk and create partitions, it will not complete the installation.  He goes back and reinstall Windows again.  I go through the installation of 39 minutes, the computer restarts to complete and it loops back and start the installation again. Why it does this and what I can do to move beyond this?

    Go into the BIOS and make sure that you your hard drive is not set to off, and that is the first priority boot CD and your second HD.

    Don't push when it restarts anything just to let him do what he does and report back if anything I'm sorry I have no idea.

    Before the relocation, try using windows install cleanup utlity to locate and remove HP Photosmart Essential. Please click here how it works. Since the documentation mentions on PSprinters, you must find and remove the HP Photosmart Essential.

  • My computer will not complete the update

    I've updated my computer tonight and after the reboot. Until I can connect the "configuration of updates: stage 3 of 3" came, as usual, but this time he remained at 0% for a few seconds and then the computer restarted again. It always restarted it self shot 10 times until I forced to close. Cannot start without failure or something.

    What should I do?

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
  • Scanning for bad sectors will not complete the scan on the c: drive
    I'm especially to keep my computer clean and virus-free. I'm doing a viriety of scans on a regular basis. Recently, however, the analysis of bad sectors is competing in 3 of the 4 phases then hangs at 71% on the 4th phase and did not finish the scan. I use Windows XP Pro Media Center Edition on your desktop HP 864n. I tried to use the scan at startup upward as well as the patch file without result system errors. I also tried the safe mode.  I even made a destructive system recovery, windows reinstallation. Nothing helps!
    The hard drive is probably bad. Test the hard drive with a diagnostic utility downloaded from site of the disc mftr. or use SeaTools for BACK of Seagate. You create a bootable CD with the files you download. You will need a third party burning software to do as the free ImgBurn, Nero or Roxio. Burn as an image, not in the form of data.
    Met the same question from one day to the other - re install Win 8< week="" old="" decided="" to="" misbehave="" on="" a="" reboot.="" nothing="" untoward="">
    In any case discovered that the automatic startup repair is less useless for me. He could not fix anything whatsoever after the diagnosis and just gave up.
    However, resort to repair (start your windows installation CD) command line prompt, I managed to solve it with the command of the ffg on the command line.
    Bootrec /rebuildbcd
    More info about bootrec available using your favorite search engine.
    for example, this site was useful for me
    http://superuser.com/questions/451277/missing-boot-files-in-Windows-8
    For users in previous posts with problems and have only a version downloaded to Win 8 - well I'd say that you yourself create a DVD of the version uploaded to win 8 - the installation program ask you if you want to create media - that will create a 4.x GB. ISO file that you can burn to DVD. There is enough information on how to do this just search online.
    With regard to creating a way to initiate Win8 installer from USB Eh well I heard the ffg tool works with Win 8 too but cannot vouch for her since have never tried so its at your own risk.
