Never connect some WiFi networks...

Sometimes, when you are traveling I'll find myself looking to take advantage of the wifi airport... about 50% of the time my mac connected without problem. The rest of the time he is there right and acts like it is connected but nothing never loads in the browser.  This happens only on wifi networks that require some sort of "disagreement with the terms" screen or a paywall.   If I leave everything and restart then sometimes it fixes, but not always, and it's a terrible solution.

Anyone know why this kind of thing happen?

If you connect OK 50% of the time, then you are doing very well.

AirPort WiFi networks are often overcrowded with too many users trying to use the same network at the same time. In this case, the result is slow... or not... connections. Nature of the beast, I'm afraid.

If you belong to a club of the airline which offers separate private space for its members, the WiFi in these areas almost always works fast and reliable.

One thing that might help a little... is to remove from the list of networks that your MacBook has signed in the past, allowing him to quickly find available networks when you need a connection.

Open System Preferences (gear on the dock icon)

Open Network

Click Wireless on the left to highlight Panel

Click the Advanced Options button at the bottom right of the window

Here you will see a list of wireless networks that your MacBook is connected to in the past

Click on the name of a network that you no longer need to highlight

Then, click on the - (less) button at the bottom of the list to remove this network

Do the same for all the other networks that you no longer need

Click OK at the bottom right of the window

Click apply in the next window that appears

Close the windows and then restart your MacBook

    Hi BKlap,

Try these methods in the order.

Method 1: Repair the network connection to solve the problem.
    For more information, see:

Note: The information in the article applies to Windows XP Home Edition as well.

Method 2: Follow the steps listed in this article to resolve the problem:
  • Can't see some WiFi networks, while others may

This problem only occurs on the floor of a convention center (and it takes place in several events)

    (1) I see some networks, but not the designated convention center WiFi free

    (2) everyone around me (a few feet), automatically detects and connects to the network

    (3) I do my cell phone a hotspot.  I detect cela, but does not connect.

    (4) I go back to my hotel room, easily detect / connect to the wifi at the hotel, as well as easily detect / connect to the hotspot.

    I use Windows 7 Professional

Compare the networks that you can see with one of your colleagues.  You see them with the same signal strength?  If it is then maybe your ability to receive card WiFi is abnormal and the desired network arrives just in below the level that he can cope.

If this is the situation then search this forum, the support site for your computer manufacturer & their forums of users for your WiFi card.  See if other people have reported similar problems and how they fixed them.  If there is no guideline anywhere then reinstalling the card driver WiFi might be the first thing to try.

I made this suggestion because my card WiFi Dell Inspiron 1545 [Broadcom 1397] could never receive the same strength of signal to others could.  Several other users of Broadcom 1397 reported the same problem.  In this case, the solution was to uninstall Dell utility WiFi control then [Device Manager], select the WiFi card, look in its properties, driver tab and back the driver by default that came with Windows 7.  I don't pretend that your solution will be the same and I invite you to search for reports from other users.

  • BlackBerry 10 auto-configuration VPN connection on Wifi networks

    Dear all

Soon-to-be owner of a Z10, I try to have a smooth start once it arrives. How would I go about establishing an automatic VPN connection to connect to certain Wifi (public, non-free)? Is it still possible?

The VPN connection offer me free access to these networks, but it is quite annoying to always have to manually open the VPN when one of them is in scope.

  • Re: Satellite L300D - unable to connect via WiFi network

Any help please? -I just L300D with Vista professional.
Crossed troubleshooting but still unable to connect via the wireless network - no probs with other laptops.

When going through "Toshiba assist" message arrives "this wireless network device is disabled.

Please activate the device"- button wireless is activated with light yellow?

    any ideas?

Are you sure that the laptop wireless switch is on?
Look in the Device Manager. Maybe it's the wireless network card disabled. So activate it.

Also try an update of the WLAN driver. You can find it on the Toshiba site:

  • I can connect to wifi networks but cannot access the internet

As the title says, I have no problem connecting to all types of wireless (password protected or not), but once I plugged in, there is always a message saying that I have limited access, and I will not be able to access internet since. It is not a problem specific to any router, it's just my laptop wireless. Direct connections (with an ethernet cable) work quite well. When I tried to solve the problems through windows I got the message error "wireless network connection is not a valid IP configuration.
I have honestly tried most of the solutions out there but stuck on what I can do next

  • Windows 7 does not connect to the new wifi networks

I have a problem with connecting to wifi networks. My laptop only connect to wifi networks that I have already connected to in the past but does not connect to all nine. The computer will recognize the but won't give me the possibility to type in any password. For example, I can connect correctly to the House and my moms place as wifi passwords are already saved on my computer. However if I go to a friends house their wifi signal will appear but when I go to connect I will not have to enter a password, the mouse cursor will simply show it to load a few seconds and then nothing happens.

    Can someone help me?

    Hello James,.

Thanks for posting your question on the forum of the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

What is the brand and model of your computer?

This problem can occur for the following reasons:

-WEP, WPA or WPA2 key or password security issues.
    -Incorrect network connection settings.
    -Corrupt or incompatible drivers.

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

  • WiFi 'cannot connect to this network.

I recently bought a HP Pavilion 17-e049wm Walmart and since I started for the first time that there was this consistent issue; It does not connect to my home network, and if so, it disconnects within an hour and if I try to connect it says "unable to connect to this network. I am sure that the issue is not the cause of the wifi it works properly on any laptop in the House, as well as on all mobile devices. I even made sure the power management settings have been disabled and I checked all my drivers and they are all up to date. I noticed also recently the wifi indicator (white light on my hp) to become orange (airplane mode indicator) just before it says unable to connect to this network and then return whitens. I turned both low roaming if that matters. This laptop comes with windows 8, and as I mentioned previously, I checked all the drivers, so it can't be a hardware problem right? And if this isn't a problem with windows, so is there some special configuration needed for wifi networks to connect to a windows computer 8? Cause I read somewhere that the WEP keys are not supported and home my network security is WPA2-PSK. If I restart the computer, it connects fine but then the same thing happens again. The longest, it worked for 2-3 hours. Could also have something to do with the fact that wifi falls a lot? The other day because the windows 8 and our computer laptop windows 7 were running side by side and when the Internet has dropped, the windows 7 laptop then would say not access windows 8 would still display cannot connect to this network. And the strange thing is, every time the Internet drops on laptops, it works great on mobile devices like my iPod and the nexus 7. Now, I hope it's just a problem with wifi and that computers are just very sensitive to that particular network, but I don't know if there is a real physical problem with my laptop. It's the sixth day, I got it so if there is a problem I'm ready to go back but I don't know about you. So to sum up, given all of the above information, is the problem with the laptop, windows 8 or wifi? And in whatever the bat injured, how can it be solved?

    Thank you
P.S. There are moments where the wifi works fine on other laptops, but the problem 'Unable to connect to this network' has not changed on the laptop to windows 8
PPS there aren't any other portable windows 8 in the House

  • change (wifi) network security key

By chance, I entered the network security key (password) incorrect wifi, in a café, so I wasn't able to connect to secure wifi network of the café-restaurant.

I couldn't understand how to enter the correct network security key.  Whenever I tried to reconnect to wireless cafes, network protocol default W7 automatically to the security key incorrect that I had entered.

I can't understand how to navigate to a place where I am able to manually re-enter the correct network security key, or to clear the info, I entered accidentally, or to delete the wifi network and start over from scratch.

As I have never connected to the network in the first place, it does not appear on 'Manage wireless networks', and 'Diagnostics' does not offer a solution.

Had the issue on the shelf of my husband's job.  Much easier to understand this kind of things in office format.  Not wild about the format of the tiles.  Too difficult to know where to find stuff.  Haven't managed to finally find a way to find the right network, but I think that her husband has entered the wrong password.  Thanks for the help.

  • iPhone 6s won't connect to VPN on work wifi but goes on other wifi networks

    Hello

I have been connected to my wifi to work for a while and had to use a VPN to use things such as whats'app and access to sites like Facebook. It worked well until what recently just VPN logs not when I am connected to this wifi network. I know that the password etc and I get the symbol wifi at the top of my phone but never impossible to access Web sites (which was normal, but the VPN it fixed), but now I can not connect the VPN even more.

The VPN application I use is Betternet but I've also tried a few others, none works. However, they all work when I connect to my own wifi network.

iPhone 6 s - last version of iOS from today (28 Apr 16) cannot find the exact version on my phone

Pleaseeeeee help me connect to my VPN when I'm on my work wifi

VPN can be difficult, maybe to consult Betternet. Also see this article for suggestions.

iOS: setting up VPN - Apple Support

FWIW here are some general recommendations for Wi - Fi problems, maybe one of them will help you.

    (1) perform a forced reboot: hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Leave the device to reboot.

    (2) resetting the network settings: settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Join the network again.

    (3) reboot router/Modem: unplug power for 2 minutes and reconnect. Update the Firmware on the router (support Web site of the manufacturer for a new FW check). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (recommended for 2.4 to 20 MHz bandwidth).

    (4) change of Google DNS: settings > Wi - Fi > click the network, delete all the numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or otherwise 8.8.4.4

    (5) disable the prioritization of device on the router if this feature is available.

    (6) determine if other wireless network devices work well (other iOS devices, Mac, PC).

    (7) try the device on another network, i.e., neighbors, the public coffee house, etc.

    (8) to restore the device (ask for more details if you wish).

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201252

    (9) go to the Apple Store for the evaluation of the material.

  • Can you connect two cable on wifi networks?

Basically, I'm trying to build it.  It was much easier in photoshop than to the fact of installation.

There are many features, some wired, some wireless.  I ran son where I can run threads, but it's a bit more difficult that I thought for a domain.

Basically, I need to connect two wired over wifi networks.   The 2nd must share this wifi via ethernet. (I can exchange picture 2 and 3 if necessary)

There are also two 4-port switches in the mix for the NAS in the basement and other devices connected.

Everything works the latest firmware. All computers on the network are running 10.11.4 Mac

Can you connect two cable on WiFi networks?

In theory, Yes.  In practice, not if you work with image, video files or other media.

Honestly, it's a big House of cards, and even if it does not, it will be very SLOW... Since everything will depend on a connection without wire between Imagine and Imagine 3... and wireless will be much less bandwidth of a wired connection, not to mention the much less reliable than a wired connection being.

If unfortunately, the bottom line here is that a professional, or even a good amateur would never has something like this.

There are some other questions to ask, but by far the most important would be... is it possible that Imagine and imagine 3A connect using a wired Ethernet cable connection?

  • Somes devices cannot connect to WiFi TimeCapsule more

Hi everyone, I am facing a weird situation.

Current configuration: the home Wifi is provided by a TimeCapsule, which has its firmware updated. A couple of device (10) are regularly connected (printers, iMac, MacBook Air, iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc.). Nothing very complicated.

    The situation:

This morning, I had 2 friends at home with their personal devices (one tablet of Nexus and an iPad 1st generation). I tried to connect to my Wifi and it never worked. On the iPad, the wheel turned in the parameter space WiFi and no internet connection was possible. No Wifi setting has been provided by the TimeCapsule (no IP, etc.). On the tablet of the Nexus, I got more details: he was blocked at the stage of IP address get.

Obviously, my first thought was to restart my TimeCapsule. Unfortunately, nothing has changed: these new devices have been blocked at the same stage and... my daughter iPod also got stuck. Exactly like the iPod from my friend. But has been connecting iPod to my daughter to my wife for the last 3 years!

My friends finally left, so the problem is "over", with the exception of the iPod of my daughter. Until this morning, he was perfectly able to connect as usual, but now no.: the wheel keeps turing in the Wifi configuration. I have obviously reset network settings: nothing has changed.

On the TimeCapsule, I see that the iPod gets an IP address. Also, when I change the name of the iPod in the control area, I can launch a sync to iTunes on the iMac and the iPod name is updated! So, this means that the iPod IS connected via Wifi, but it is not possible to browse the Internet or connect to what. The WiFi icon does not even appear in the top bar.

All other devices (iPad, iMac, etc) works perfectly.

    Any ideas?

    M.

... except for the iPod from my daughter. Until this morning, he was perfectly able to connect as usual, but now no.: the wheel keeps turing in the Wifi configuration. I have obviously reset network settings: nothing has changed.

As you probably already know, reset the network settings deletes saved passwords and network configuration details. It also exports the residual caches and preferences. Most of the time, it should be fixed.

As it didn't, the only other suggestions I could give are:

    • Go to the option "forget network Wi - Fi" in iOS settings and then manually try to join the wireless network yet.
    • If this does not resolve the problem, then possibly one or more of your Wi - Fi connection settings for your wireless network may have to be changed:
      • Make sure that the network name does not include spaces or special characters.
      • Don't 'hide' your Wi - Fi network.
      • Try temporarily disabling Wi - Fi security to see if the iPad will connect now.
