New HD will not start!

I have a HP G60 laptop who is 1.5 years old.  He died on me this week, and the test showed the failed hard drive to replace.  I went out and found the HD only I could find was a WD 1 TB.  Installed about 10 minutes started upward with the my #1 system recovery disk.  Has gone through all the steps and the inserted disc # 2 & #3 when asked.  It took about 45-1 hour.  When it is finished, he told me to remove all the records retrieval system and click on continue restart.  When I did it, it cuts the power and turn it on and get a back screen that reads "no device-Insert boot disk Bootable and press a key."  What the hell I'm doing now?

Thank you!

Update:

OK, I guess the 3rd time is a charm!  I tried everything above, and nothing has worked.  After the 3rd time running my 3 recovery disk and leaving reformat the HD, it worked as it should.  It is now up and running, go figure!  I don't know why, but he did.  Any of you know why?  I have nothing differently each time.

original title: hyperbowl will not start in XP SP3 / cannot install KB924867

    Hello

I just reinstalled windows XP and done all the updates. I then reinstalled hyperbowl 3d and it will not open up. Now it used to be that if you ran the update:

Update for Windows XP (KB924867) http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?DisplayLang=en&id=6446

It would solve this problem (see http://hyperbowl3d.com/oldsupport.html).

I downloaded the update, and it says:

"Setup has detected that the version of Service Pack for this system is newer than the update you are applying"

So I can't install the update. Is it possible to reinstall this hotfix without remove SP3 or is there another work around, I can use?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi all

Now my L300 will not start not (windows (Vista).
It shows a blue screen saying that windows has been shut down and to check the installation of new hardware or software.
There is no new hardware or software. He suggested to disable the bios memory options (I don't know how to do this) and suggests to start in safe mode to remove or disable components.

The laptop does NOT start in any mode not to mention safe mode, repair mode that brings back me to the blue screen as described.

    Hello

Yes, the recovery disc's one disc it s DVD ;)

    Return to be issued;
I think that it s material related since the recovery disk should work for sure.
The blinking cursor can be related to a faulty memory or HARD drive.
    Both should be checked.

You could remove a memory module and might try to power the device using a single memory module in a slot.
Of course, the best would be a use of two new modules

The HARD drive can be checked using a tool called Drive Fitness Test (it of free use google to find it)

  • HD will not start from host organization but will be of a different MBP

    ((Two Mbit/s: 1) mid 2010 i5 model 1) Middle model i7 2011.

From here, I will call them as "i5 and i7.

The i7 was having starting problems. The taskbar would charge about 2/3 of the way in which it would "hang up" then the screen turns off. Unsuccessfully trying to boot in safe mode. Verbose mode would freeze as well. Tried the single user mode and run ' fsck - fy "and it made no difference. No idea how fix permissions with the utility El Capitan disk but I'm not sure it would make a difference. Doesn't it?

I then did a backup/clone of the i7 to a new external storage disk. All programs and files are successfully transferred.

Then I wiped the i7 with a clear three-pass and reinstalled OSX.

Error #1) I have not test to see if the hd now Virgin began its host computer before you restore the old files.

Error #2) I put the clone on the i7 copy using Super Duper.

When installing the i7 to its host computer, it wouldn't boot in any mode just as before.

    * Comment: The i7 will start the i5 laptop when connected via USB in system preferences > startup disk.

I am currently using the i7 connected to the external i5 as I type this.

Disk utility has been run on the i7 at this point by indicating zero problems.

Onyx has been run through all the options and check marks with no problems.

Always the i7 will not start its host computer.

    I am very confused.

    Issues related to the:

    (1) why/how this phenomenon occur?

    (2) in making the i7 clone for external storage, if there was a hidden virus or something on the i7 origin, is the now compromised storage device?

I read it twice and I'm still a little confused.

When you cloned the i7, you do it from the other computer?

I get the i7 disc starts from the i7 computer when it is connected to the outside. Is this correct?

If the player starts in an external of the i7 box, but not in the computer the case most likely is the SATA cable to the hard drive.

    Try to replace.

I have no CV/DVD to my computer.
After the first time I don't burn DVD with backup.

I have really now how can I install system with recovery patriction. What softwere I need and how do I do it?

    Thanks for help

    Hello

Sat A300 and other new models of laptops are equipped with HARD drive recovery option. This HARD drive recovery should allow you to recover the laptop without the use of all disks.
In order to start the procedure for HARD drive recovery, you need to press F8. Then choose the first option called fix my computer. Then new window pops up and there you have to choose Toshiba HDD recovery. All that s.

But if this procedure don't work (no matter why) then you will need to use the Toshiba recovery disc. If you n t create a floppy disk for recovery of a hand and the laptop will not start, then you will have to buy a drive for recovery of this page:

  • Laptop will not start without the battery attached

    Hello

I have a Hp pavilion dv6700 series (dv6840el) and just, it will not start without the battery attached.

If I plug in the AC adapter, I get some computer activity (fan, noise of the dvd player and HD drive spins) for about 5 seconds, then shuts down.

Once I plug the battery (which is dying, who need a replacement), the laptop starts fine.

So my question is: what is a motherboard or a problem with the AC adapter?

The AC adapter looks ok, however. But if I am considering buying a spare battery, I assure you that I have a new adapter as well.

  • Update Windows xp caused my computer blue screen and now will not start.

Update Windows xp caused my computer blue screen and now will not start.  There has been no change to my system hardware or software otherwise.  After that windows update Setup, he asked to restart the computer.  When restarted, the computer screens and past blue to the quick menu for safe mode and last known configuration to work.  None of these mode of work, not to shelter or otherwise.  The only thing that he will now implementing market is quickly flashing the blue screen and restart once again to this quick menu.

It's really annoying because I have important files on this computer work and can't afford to get in shape!   I put my confidence in using windows and keep it updated.   During the installation of your updates, it made my system fails and does not restart.   I'll be very upset if this update of windows xp causes me to have to reformat and lose important files!

Any advice on a solution?   I need to get this computer work as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Ben River

I ordered the Dell XP disc and did the re-install. It works fine now. The Dell technical support had me do some updates on the web as well. I have not had problems since. What happened with the automatic updates completely wiped out my operating system. At least I don't have to buy a new computer.

If nothing else works, try reinstalling your operating system. It worked for me.

  • Vista will not start! Black screen, no mouse, no cursor pointer. Startup Repair cannot repair. Details say 'wrong pass '. What is the correct syntax for pkgmgr to uninstall?

Vista will not start!  Black screen, no mouse, no cursor pointer.  Startup Repair cannot repair.  Details say 'wrong pass '.  It looks like all the files are well intact on the disk.

What is the correct for pkgmgr syntax when you try to uninstall an update by using a command prompt when starting Vista OS disk?  I entered the following in the "x:\Sources >" prompt:

    start /w pkgmgr/o: "C:\; /Up:Package_1_for_KB2840149~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~6.0.1.0 C:\Windows.

When I run this command it ends quickly and when I run 'echo %errorlevel%' I get '5', which seems to mean 'access denied'.  How am I supposed to have access to remove the patch?  Am I missing something?  Perhaps a switch in the syntax to access?  Help, please.  Thank you.

I tried both options that you recommended.  As initially stated, no boot option would produce something other than the black screen.  I tried to boot from a drive and restoring the system running, but she didn't, and when I tried to do it again the recovery console could not find restore points. ?.

An update, the computer is now fixed.  Oddly enough, I ran recovery of starting a drive at least 8 times and each time I checked the details and he said: he ran chkdsk without error and return to the same cause "a patch is preventing windows to start.  I even ran chkdsk c: /f from a prompt command from the recovery disk and it found no errors.  That's when I posted the question above after trying to remove the patch in the manner described above.  After some time and frustration, I decided to run chkdsk /r c:.  It took awhile, but it found 1 bad sector, moved the data, the bad sector tag and finished.  Once I restarted from that, everything came and went very well.

So, the original question remains, what was missing in the command to run pkgmgr/high: successfully.  And the new question exists as to why start Recovery claims run chkdsk if it does not, or he turns the version/f not the version/r the same as I did manually?  It would be good to know for the future.  Thank you!

What happened: returned to the computer after being away for a while, shook the wake up the mouse and the screen «has exploded in many colors and motion pixels» Screen went black, then a screen "do you want to start in safe mode" popped up. He tried a start-up without danger, but he failed and gave him a Bios Application error 501. He tried to restart the computer, but it crashes on the 'Starting Windows' screen with 4 color icon.

    I have:

Removed the battery and tried to restart. Not good.

Has taken the hard disk and and reinstalled it. Ditto.

Tried to boot mode safe, before and after the following below. "Loading files" still stuck on Windows\System32\drivers\CLASSPNP. SYS

Burned and ran a repair disc. Took 4 hours and the program ran at the end when I was asked to reboot. Computer hooked on "Starting Windows" screen. (I left this screen function for more than 5 hours without this change.)

Ran the program System Repair twice, same results.

Start of Tests ran. After self-test of the main hard drive, hard drive SMART and verification Test of memory system (passed 100%)

Tried to restore the BIOS using Windows + B and power with several attempts. Button Power LED stays on, about 20 seconds later a small LED on the "caps lock" key flashes white twice. Black screen and nothing happens after 5 minutes. He raised his eyes and 2 flashes is supposed to be the corruption of the BIOS.

Error log lists these: quick 03F0 303, 501 error and error of hard disk 1.

Well, nothing worked and I did not attempt to remove the HD and turn it on again. Husband returned to a comp sci student who managed to get some info on the HD, but said that the HD was shot.

Good thing is that I got a new Asus laptop and put my old computer to my dear husband. So, I guess that the problem is solved!  Thanks for your help.

    Hello

Manufacturers recovery disks normally do not have Service Options; they are normally a relocation to the factory only settings option.

Acer definiterly only reinstall to factory settings, new condition.

Here is the guide to repair Options using a Vista DVD from Microsoft.

If a friend or a work acquantance of yours has one, you can borrow and use it for repairs.

    2. How to perform an automatic repair of Windows Vista using Startup Repair

If you do not or can not borrow a Microsoft DVD there is a download of a file ISO of Vista Startup Repair available that you can put on a Bootable floppy to make the above startup repair and that the method is recommended by a large number of posters in these Forums.

Unfortunately, you have to buy it.

My problem is, sidebar.exe will not start. He does not appear in the Manager of tasks and does absolutely nothing when I run the executable file.

I have a new laptop, just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit on it. Now, here's what I just did after installing Windows:
    1 remove some windows components:

    -IE

    -Windows media center

    -Games

    -Tablet components

2 installed all updates and drivers needed

3 optimized for SSD Windows (I installed on the SSD and HDD extra for Windows files):
-moved my user on an internal HARD drive folders
    -off hibernazation
-a rejected the files on the system drive for the content index
-Move page file of SSD to HDD

-people with disabilities Prefetch and Readyboot

To solve the problem, I tried (I rebooted after each operation):

-running sfc/scannow (says it fixed a few errors, but eventually I saw no changes)

    turn the component Windows Gadgets

-in the course of running sidebar.exe administrator

-installation of hotfix (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/979164) - said that it is not compatible with my setup.
