  On the computer, iTunes U said that I have a new private message.  When I look for the message, none of the positions are annotated as they are supposed to be if a message is attached.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  It does not appear on my iPad, only via the desktop browser.  It drives me crazy.  I wish I could just disable completely private message.

  I've had Skype for about two years now. Since I got it, it was convenient that the new message notification seems to go away when I look at the Skype window.

  Well, this is more the case.

  The new message notice persists, but it isn't permanent, fortunately. It goes away after I have send a new message to the group, or until I manually "mark as read".

  It's not a big deal, but it is rather annoying that it does not have its own more. I already tried to restart Skype and that does not seem to solve the problem.

When I click on the Firefox icon on my desktop or the taskbar, I want Firefox to open in 'New private window' always; no exception.   Hi Amos, assuming you want to get more protection, monitoring, there are a few options:

  • You can customize your firefox shortcut on the desktop or the taskbar to open firefox directly in private browsing mode: right-click the shortcut "mozilla firefox", go to properties, and at the end of the target line that should hold them the way to the firefox program folder add " -private"
  • You can enable protection followed not only during private browsing, but in normal windows as hollow a 'hidden' preference: enter on: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named privacy.trackingprotection.enabled. Double-click it and change its value to true.
  • You can set firefox don't remember history in the menu > options > sign confidentiality in order to always run in private browsing mode. However you will not be able to open all normal windows or record the history and passwords if you have defined this mode: confidentiality, and-not-track browsing history settings

  This is a known bug in Firefox that is known by some, but not all, users. It can be bypassed by following these steps:

  1. Go to Subject: config and click on the warning message.
  2. In the search at the top of the page box, type the text dom.disable_window_open_feature. Wait a few seconds for the filter takes effect or press ENTER.
  3. Double-click one of the listed values that have a value of False to change to True.
  4. Close the tab when you're done and that the problem should be solved!

  When I receive a new instant message or new email to my personal email account, updates from facebook, I also receive notifications of message that goes into the message folder.   Hard to say, unless I missed it, you have not explained

  1. who is your provider

  2. what data plan you have (data plan, unlimited limited or capped, internet only plan with no e-mail).

  This will help to answer, but better yet, you'd be better off getting this information from your business, if you are interested in the costs of "carrier".

  But if you reply to the above, I bet we can help you to determine if or not you carrier charges.

  Tips to clear the message unread... try them in the order.

  If you have a new icon rogue Message on your home screen, or a negative number (-1), one of these solutions could erase or reset:

  Try these options:
  * Hard Reset BlackBerry now ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or with the BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert the battery)
  Messages > saved Messages
  Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
  * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
  Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
  * Clean and reload your OS.

  Hi Guimcha - Hashtags, or topics are not supported in private Messages, because they are conversations private and not visible to the rest of the community. Topics can only be used in regular messages (groups, projects, challenges). You can tell when a topic/hashtag is validated successfully because it will turn into a hyperlink and create it's own page of topics.
