Newbie on antenna question

Hi, I got a 2 x 4402 WLC and 25 x 1242AG TOWER to deploy. None of the ROUND came with the antenna. They are to be deployed in an office environment. The absence of antenna would prevent me from editing above the suspended ceiling, or must they go on the inner walls instead? I could not do a poll on the site but as it is still a construction site.

Hi Brian,.

You know, I don't think that there is no 1242 with antennas :(

«The Cisco Aironet 1240AG series Access Point is a fixed configuration access point, dual band IEEE 802.11a/b/g. built in to the access point are two radio stations, each with * dual diversity antenna connectors.»

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5678/ps6521/product_data_sheet0900aecd8031c968.html

You would need something like the series 1130 (with integrated antenna).

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/HW/wireless/products_category_buyers_guide.html#http :// www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/products_category_buyers_guide.html

This does not mean you will need external antennas for use with the 1242.

I hope this helps!

  • newbie Y560P laptop questions

Lenovo forums are very informative and I looked for answers to my questions and have found some but not all. I recently (St Patty's day) ordered an ideapad y560P. I should have asked these questions before buying but there was an e-coupon deal that ends the day of St patty, I had wanted a laptop pretty advanced for a while so I jumped. Life is not perfect!

    1. a clean install of windows is possible with recovery disks that Lenovo provides? If this is not the case, what is the best way to do it?

    2. the Y560P can fully utilyze the new SATA 3 SSD as boot drive? Void the warranty?

    3. wait for Lenovo to ship my laptop until the Sandy Bridge sata port questions/reminder are developed?

    4. someone here successfully using imaging software (like Acronis true image} on their laptops?)

Sorry for the newbie questions. I built my own desktops for years, but this will be my first laptop. Time passes! Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey, I'll do my best to respond to these:

    (1) actually, no discs are technically provided by Lenovo. Your system comes with a separate, partition that contains a recovery image. That being said, you can create a set of recovery disks by running their usefulness (comes pre-installed). When you use these disks, it basically as a duplication process. So yes, you can do a clean install, if you think it their image pre-built a clean installation

    (2) not sure about the 3 SATA drives, but drives does not cancel your comprehensive guarantee. I would always keep the original drive where the system needs to be sent, but I think that the RAM and CPU are considered as 'evolutionary customer options' and are therefore not guarantee-killers.

    (3) from what I've read, Lenovo has already stopped the lines with questions of Sandy Bridge. None of these units should be delivery to consumers. If I remember correctly, it only affected some of the i7 lines. If you have concerns, you can always call Lenovo with your serial number, and they can check if the unit is affected. However, Lenovo has been very quick to fix this, I just couldn't see their shipping defective units known to customers.

    (4) Acronis and Ghost work quite well, assuming it is a standard drive. I could not find any problems with people using either a product on the readers of the so-called "hybrid".

    Hope that helps a bit!

  • newbie triggered custom question

    Hi gurus of Labview:

It could be a very simple question for you guys, please provide some tips.

Here's my scenario measure: I need monitor output of the sensor which is a signal voltage (to AI0), I just need to get the voltage reading when I get a trigger signal to axis to another (PFI0). I would like to save to a file .txt with the news. on the value of the voltage and the time stamp of each measure. With a simple while loop and the DAQ assistant, I can get the measure to start when a trigger is detected on the PFI0, however, the measure will now continue to operate after that. Instead, I want the system to measure a voltage value, then wait for the next trigger signal. I'm pretty new to labview, so it will be very appreciated if someone can point me in the right direction.

    Thank you very much.

OK, after reading this link given above about 1 sample (timed HW) I think that what you really want is continuous samples with the sample on your external clock clock.

Apparently there is no buffer with the 1SHWT (I'm short hand here).  If you miss one, you get the overflow error.  That tells me your loop is medium to slow or your pendulum goes faster than you think.  By going with continuous samples, you will not have to worry about this.  You can simply take as much data as you want and save the heap in the file.  This will make things work a little easier.

  • Newbie BB development question

Hello eveyone. I hope this is the right place to post this question, but I'm looking for advice. I'm new to the development for BB, but since 3 days I did a lot of reading. The only problem with this is that the more I read more confused I get. I have developed solutions ASP.NET, but never anything like that for mobile devices.

Here are my thoughts on what I would do:

-Create a Web page for the BB, which goes to a SQL Server, accessing a view and extracts the data in a data Repeater or a gridview for viewing.

I have an IIS server running locally and can be viewed on BlackBerry now. I've set up and you can check out. WML and. Pages HTML to it very well.

My question is this. I read about this plug-in for Visual Studio 2008. I downloaded and installed successfully.

I do not know the following:

-Can I do what I would do without BES?

-What would be the best way to go about this? A few suggestions on what would be the best way to approach this project.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob

So I can just use Visual Studio.net 2008 and create a sample page. I use the PlugIn which can be downloaded or can I just without programming?

From what you say, you just need Notepad, vim, emacs, any other to design a Web page. The fact that You ' l browse this page with a Blackberry or an iPhone or a Samsung is on top of that.

    psu99 wrote:

And what you say to me that I didn't need BES... my point of view on what it was only used for PUSH applications.

You use a BES is required if the Web server is not reachable from outside your corporate network. In this case, you need BES just for its web proxy that will allow your browser to reach a machine inside the LAN. BES can also be used for automatic authentication issues based on the PIN code of your device and/or X.509 private keys that can be installed by the IT company.

  • CVP newbie on routing questions

Hello, newbie here in CVP. Got a deployment with UCCE/CVP 9 X and Conn CUCM/Unit 9 X. No Sip Proxy and the current context we have to route calls to CUCM prior routing to ICM/CVP. I know that's not the best Setup, but there is no budget to spend more managers to call for UnityC to CIM at this stage so all calls will be pretty closely from before CUCM hit ICM. That said, I'm getting conflicting information about how to configure routing. Probably more too read things. From my tests, I need 2 PIMS on every PG to cover both CVP servers which means I need 2 labels VRU to account for each customer routing of the CVP (ie. 121212 and 131313)? I have heard however I need one but my call routing will fail if it is not 2. Is this correct? If this is the case, how ICM knows what CVP VRU label to use when a call is initiated of CUCM to ICM? And how is that redundant PVC without proxy SIP or DNS Srv? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

No, you build the same label for all customers of routing CVP.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Newbie with 2 questions, need help.

    Hi guys,.

hope you can help. I recently bought a BB Curve and think it's great.

However the LED stopped working. I turned off the unit and removed the battery. When I put it in the LED lights up red, so it must work. I checked my profile settings and all say that the LED must be on. I have changed this setting to disabled, backed up, and then put it back on and saved and still no action led.

The second question is attachments on my emails. I can't open attachments, photos, documents spreadsheets nothing. I use desktop re-Director. Is it possible to have attachments that are sent using this unit or any other bits of software? I have the only BB at work so I'm not so sure, establishment of a BB server is viable.

Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

There is not all the configuration parameters for the Service of the attachment. The following table describes the supported types of attachments on a BlackBerry

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/KB03265

By default the LED flashes green to indicate that you are in a wireless coverage area. I found it annoying and disabled. Check the setting under Options | Screen/keyboard and turn the LED coverage indicator inactive.

  • Newbie on MemoryStick question

I am to evaluate vm workstation for our company and have no real experience with vm workstation.

I'm hosting on windows 7. I created a machine virtual windows XP without any problem at all. Here is the question, when I'm on windows xp and I insert a USB / flash drive, virtual machine software allows me to connect to it and it displays in the status bar, but I can't see or access in the my computer window.  I really need to be able to copy files from the drive flash on windows xp machine... I read everything I could find, and it seems to me it should work... Sorry if this is a stupid question, but can someone tell me what I'm missing?  Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the forums!  Do you have the VMware Tools installed in the virtual Windows XP machine?  You should be able to drag-and - drop between your Windows 7 host machine and the virtual machine.  You can disable the removable device (USB key) in the virtual machine to the host o/s.  You should then be able to open the drive, and then drag and drop the files / folders to your Windows XP VM.

    Please keep us informed.

    Good luck... Bruce

  • Newbie on permission question

    Hello

I have an operational 5.0.1 AMS. But I'm a newbie to AMS.

I want to implement the authorization features for the AMS for streaming (vod) saved mp4 files.

In a first time, for clients Flash using the RTMP protocol, subsequently for iOS/Android devices using HLS/HDS.

My plan is that the client sends one identifier internal video to flow and a session id.

These two parameters should be passed to AMS to another remote server with a PHP API or a SOAP web service. This remote server checks if the video might be listened to (Simplified) and returns true or false to the AMS.

Now, my problem is that I have no idea where to connect to the communication between the client and the server.

So far I got the normal way to proceed would be to listen to certain events in the main.asc.

All the examples I found to date only show how to manage application.onConnect.

But I would like the AMS to react on the command of NetStream.play (), sent by the Flash client.

    How is that possible?

And, is it possible to do for HLS streaming that does not rely on Flash clients?

Thank you very much in advance

    Hyper

You pass additional arguments to the connect function:

    NC. Connect ("rtmp://myserver.com/test", "12345", "abcdefgh");

On the media server, definition of the function onConnect to take as many arguments as you expect:

    application.onConnect = function (client, videoID, sessionID) {}

your code to manage the client connection here, probably to check the values to the remote server

    }

The customer is always present. You can add additional arguments after her.

You need to pass arguments in the same order as the onConnect function.

  • newbie JDeveloper Setup question

    Hey people.

I'm a new ISV SE working to familiarize myself with things.

    Environment:

    Windows7 64 bit

    Java version "1.8.0_60".

    Tries to install:

    Installing Oracle JDeveloper Studio

    jdev_suite_121300_win64.exe

When I run the installer, it dies on the market 'Prepare' with this message:

java.io.IOException: C:\.oracleprinters\Middleware\Oracle_Home\inventory\Queries\jdkGeneralQueries\12.1.3.0.0\jdkGeneralQueries.jar (the system cannot find the path specified)

My machine has a C:\.oracleprinters directory, but this subdirectory is not there.

    Advice would be useful?

    Carl

Have you been asked to a Jdev installation folder in?

You have another installation of Oracle on this pc?

I never heard of puff, a folder named .oracleprinters, but it can be created by the installer itself. If it is empty, you can remove it and try again.

Did you start the installer as an administrator?

  • Newbie on paths question

    Hi all

Please take a look at the following picture:

    screen1.jpg

I am trying to trace an outline of a banner that oscillates around a cylinder. To do this, I created a path for the cylinder and the other for the banner. I had planned to merge with the pathfinder tool traces when I'm done and cut out the parts that overlap that I don't need. But here's my problem: when I created the closed path from the front of the banner and tried to add a single path (marked in green) I can't join them. This gives an advantage of ugly, overlapping (circled red). I read that it is not possible to reach a path open to a closed point anker. How could I solve this problem?

All the tips are greatly appreciated.

    belfaser,

You can select the entire document and in the Contour palette check the round cap and Round join.

Making nice and consistent angles and ends (if you have Anchor Points correctly on top of each other, of course; The guides are your friends saying: anchor when you drag one to coincide with each other).

  • Is it still possible... newbie link/photo question

I know that I can link something to a whole picture. Is it at all possible to have few links located on different spots of a photo? Someone asks me to do it for our site, but I just can't understand it. I touched only in Dreamweaver and I don't know even where to look in the different help pages! If someone can point me in the right direction, it would be great. If it helps, here is the page that they want me to work this way... http://www.hartleynature.org/ecology/1918.html

Click on your image, open your properties window, bottom left (I'm in CS3 so yours may be different), look for card.  Click the tool you want to use (oval rectangle or polygon) and bet on the section on the image that you want to link.  You should be able to go from there.

  • Question on the simulation of 11g

Forgive this newbie and the question of functionality personally not tested...

I'm looking on simulations and see that I can set a duration for a definition of the simulation. I can give a moment of execution in months, days, hours, minutes and seconds. Everything is good so far. Question is about the use of that time when I run a simulation. Is the "real-time" or is it "simulated"? There are cases where I want to apply the rules of calendar and other factors where to simulate the day simulation time, weeks and confined in the image. I'm hoping to hear that time is "simulated" which means the computer simulation process as quickly as possible. That would allow me to get a simulation time of say 60 minutes done in something less than the current time. Anyone who has experience using simulations can verify that this is the case for me?

    The time is simulated.

For completeness: you can choose ' run to the end ", where it will finish the simulation in seconds and just show you the results, or you can run the simulation 'normally' where you will see chips running through your process, the size of the queue and all. The time is always simulated, but not as fast.

  • Confusion between Skype and Skype to Go numbers

Please forgive a newbie, ask stupid questions.

I am interested in a Skype number so you can call me but I see that I already have a Skype to Go number. What is c? Is it the same thing? I'm totally confused.

Can I request a new number? If yes what should I do with the Skype to Go number?

I don't know that I'm missing what is obvious.

Please can someone give me an idiots guide.

    Thank you

The number of Skype is where you can buy a number of local fixed telephone for people you can call to the. This has the messaging and diversion structures.

The Skype to go number is an access number that you can call from a landline or mobile, if you don't have access to the Internet to avoid high international call charges. It generates a new number to your contact at a local rate rather than using their actual number to a global prevalence rate. You configure a list of speed-dial contacts and when you call the access number, your contact list is read for you.

For example I have contacts in the Canada and Australia, but adding them as contacts in S2G now have UK numbers which are charged at the rate for local rather than international rates.

There are some demos on YouTube if you search.

  • Filters on the fans / vents?

Bit of a newb here in question, but I was aspiration of dust on the inside of my HP Pavilion Elite m9252p today and noticed how much dust accumulated outside the various vents on the sides of the chassis, not to mention inside.

Is it safe to put the "filters" improvised outside these vents to help filter dust?  I think Swiffers, folded once up and taped outside the chassis on the vents.  Will there still be enough air flow / traffic?  Or this obstruction will lead to overheating?

How about the power supply and system fan slots at the back?

Will there be commercial filters made specially for this purpose?

Or it's just a bad idea to interfere with the flow of air in the first place?

    Thank you.

It is normal that the hot air to blow in the back.

  • How to play AC3 audio in .avi (or add plug-ins which can play) in WMP 11?

OK, I know I'm a newbie and my question is maybe completely obvious, but I really need some help here:

I tried WMP tutorial on the site of Microsoft and many messages in this forum, but can't seem to find the useful bits specifically associated with WMP in XP system.
I tried to copy the plug-in decoder (EX: fdpAC3.dll) from other player like KMplayer s programs, but can't seem to find a directory in the WMP folder to put in... anyone know there is even a healthy option to just copy 3 rd-party decoders/filters from other programs? There will be no serious compatibility problems?
Anyway, despite my concern for the last question, I can not even find a way around the first step: make WMP to use the plug-in / find a way to force WMP to decode AC3 audio... Can someone share with me the know-how?

Cut to the Chase: install a codec pack, K-Lite is the best free ware autour. You can use WMP to almost all formats autour.

    See you soon,.
