CVP newbie on routing questions

Hello, newbie here in CVP. Got a deployment with UCCE/CVP 9 X and Conn CUCM/Unit 9 X. No Sip Proxy and the current context we have to route calls to CUCM prior routing to ICM/CVP. I know that's not the best Setup, but there is no budget to spend more managers to call for UnityC to CIM at this stage so all calls will be pretty closely from before CUCM hit ICM. That said, I'm getting conflicting information about how to configure routing. Probably more too read things. From my tests, I need 2 PIMS on every PG to cover both CVP servers which means I need 2 labels VRU to account for each customer routing of the CVP (ie. 121212 and 131313)? I have heard however I need one but my call routing will fail if it is not 2. Is this correct? If this is the case, how ICM knows what CVP VRU label to use when a call is initiated of CUCM to ICM? And how is that redundant PVC without proxy SIP or DNS Srv? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

No, you build the same label for all customers of routing CVP.

  • Number of antennas router question?  (Several gadgets WiFi using 1 router)

-My House is a 3 storey 5 bedrooms single family home.  There are 4 people living under his roof and each person has at least 3-4 items wireless who rely on our network domestic wi - fi.  Include wireless iPhone 2 of 6, 3 iPhone 5, 2 iMac (an older and a new one), 1 airbook, 1 MS Surface, 2 older laptops Apple (the old 1 "thick white), 2 iPads, Kindle 1-2, frame 1 photo wireless, 3 printers, wifi, 1 Sony PlayStation4 (via wifi) and much more.

Our current router is a double (2.5 and 5) and we use them both, and we had recently a technician change the channels, so we are not in competition with the neighbors.  The router signal strength is strong in the home to most of the places.

My question: with so many features, would be useful to have several routers with multiple antennas to accommodate this request, or made this same question?

My current router has 3 visible external antennas.  I read that the Airport Extreme has 6 internal antennas.  I'm ready to go buy Airport Extreme, if 3 additional antennas can help, or if I can use two routers for a total of 9 antennas (if this is important).

Our services to wide band is xfinity and we have one of their fastest options.  Not quite the 105, but about 80.

    Any suggestions?

Several wireless routers will tend to work better than the Gothic pulpit super multi-antenna a monster looking for router.

But they all need to be connected with the ethernet.

Read how to get excellent wireless in your House.

    http://www.SmallNetBuilder.com/basics/wireless-basics/31576-the-best-way-to-get-ensemble-Maison-sans wire-coverage

External antennas tend to be more effective than internal, but the actual number of antennas is easily overrated.

Most of the antennas used on routers now are dual band... which means inside the plastic, they have sections for the two bands... If an antenna is really two.

Our current router is a double (2.5 and 5) and we use both

Is what model exactly? Of basic etiquette please.

We had recently a technician change the channels, so we are not in competition with the neighbors.  The router signal strength is strong in the home to most of the places.

It would have been correct for the first 5 minutes after the technician left the House and then totally out of place. Channel of all the equipment that surrounds you change every day, every hour... maybe every 5 min. While I don't disagree with fixing channel... others would say that it should be left on auto. You gain nothing much at all.

If the signal strength is good over a 3-storey house, you are incredibly lucky.

You can't effectively add routers more unless you install ethernet to provide an infrastructure for data streams.

  • newbie Y560P laptop questions

Lenovo forums are very informative and I looked for answers to my questions and have found some but not all. I recently (St Patty's day) ordered an ideapad y560P. I should have asked these questions before buying but there was an e-coupon deal that ends the day of St patty, I had wanted a laptop pretty advanced for a while so I jumped. Life is not perfect!

    1. a clean install of windows is possible with recovery disks that Lenovo provides? If this is not the case, what is the best way to do it?

    2. the Y560P can fully utilyze the new SATA 3 SSD as boot drive? Void the warranty?

    3. wait for Lenovo to ship my laptop until the Sandy Bridge sata port questions/reminder are developed?

    4. someone here successfully using imaging software (like Acronis true image} on their laptops?)

Sorry for the newbie questions. I built my own desktops for years, but this will be my first laptop. Time passes! Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey, I'll do my best to respond to these:

    (1) actually, no discs are technically provided by Lenovo. Your system comes with a separate, partition that contains a recovery image. That being said, you can create a set of recovery disks by running their usefulness (comes pre-installed). When you use these disks, it basically as a duplication process. So yes, you can do a clean install, if you think it their image pre-built a clean installation

    (2) not sure about the 3 SATA drives, but drives does not cancel your comprehensive guarantee. I would always keep the original drive where the system needs to be sent, but I think that the RAM and CPU are considered as 'evolutionary customer options' and are therefore not guarantee-killers.

    (3) from what I've read, Lenovo has already stopped the lines with questions of Sandy Bridge. None of these units should be delivery to consumers. If I remember correctly, it only affected some of the i7 lines. If you have concerns, you can always call Lenovo with your serial number, and they can check if the unit is affected. However, Lenovo has been very quick to fix this, I just couldn't see their shipping defective units known to customers.

    (4) Acronis and Ghost work quite well, assuming it is a standard drive. I could not find any problems with people using either a product on the readers of the so-called "hybrid".

    Hope that helps a bit!

  • Aironet 1140 access point / 1941 router question

    I currently have:

    -router (not wireless) 1941

    -Access point 1140

Looks like I got the AP on controller instead of the standalone version.  My question is, the 1941 (not 1941W) has a wireless controller?  If not, is there a controller module I can add to my router?  Or I would return the AP I to the standalone version (or the 1941 for the 1941W)?

Thanks in advance for any advice / help.

It is not a controller which can go in the 1941. The controllers are quite expensive if you probably don't want to go this way in any case. Before you send the return of accreditation, Sue TAC and see if you can convert it to a standalone. Some AP support this, but I'm not sure of the 1140 series.

    It will be useful.

  • Satellite Pro A60: Wireless router Questions

    Hi all
I am a novice computer, sorry for my lack of knowledge. I just bought a BT Voyager router for Satellite Pro A60 mt, but can't seem to make it work!

I was told that my Sat Pro has a built-in wireless inbulit receiver? (If yes how I turn it on?)
When I conect the router to the phone line saying all the lights on the router everything is ok... but when I try to go to the line, NOTHING!

Please can someone help me... ???

    Hello

I checked the properties of the Satellite Pro A60 and it seems that the WiFi card is optional on this unit.
In this case, you should check in Device Manager if the minPCI wireless network card is properly installed on your machine.
On the right side of the laptop, you will find a switch ON / OFF wireless. If the wireless network adapter is enabled, the led at the front lights.

Now something on the router. Each WLan router typically has an own software installation package. There should also be an instruction how to manage the router.
You should check the router instruction

  • newbie triggered custom question

    Hi gurus of Labview:

It could be a very simple question for you guys, please provide some tips.

Here's my scenario measure: I need monitor output of the sensor which is a signal voltage (to AI0), I just need to get the voltage reading when I get a trigger signal to axis to another (PFI0). I would like to save to a file .txt with the news. on the value of the voltage and the time stamp of each measure. With a simple while loop and the DAQ assistant, I can get the measure to start when a trigger is detected on the PFI0, however, the measure will now continue to operate after that. Instead, I want the system to measure a voltage value, then wait for the next trigger signal. I'm pretty new to labview, so it will be very appreciated if someone can point me in the right direction.

    Thank you very much.

    Shao

OK, after reading this link given above about 1 sample (timed HW) I think that what you really want is continuous samples with the sample on your external clock clock.

Apparently there is no buffer with the 1SHWT (I'm short hand here).  If you miss one, you get the overflow error.  That tells me your loop is medium to slow or your pendulum goes faster than you think.  By going with continuous samples, you will not have to worry about this.  You can simply take as much data as you want and save the heap in the file.  This will make things work a little easier.

  • Reset the router - questions

    Hello

My family and I use the Linksys E1000 router for some time and just yesterday my laptop began to have some problems. I don't know where to start, so I guess I'll just start from the beginning.

I was at my local college library using the Internet. I closed the lid of my laptop, put on the mode 'sleep', knowing that the class I had then would be not long. However, events conspired to made me forget that I even had my laptop until later in the night, when I was home around 6:30 a. After opening the lid, I found that while my computer has recognized the Cisco wireless network, he was not identified. I stopped, tried again. Disconnected. Stop. Turn it back on. All of these variables on the laptop. Finally I went out to the living room where our router and restart it, unconsciously it rest for too long - and the entire router decided to restart.

With this, our wireless set came down, and none of the computers were able to connect to the Internet. After a few hours of troubleshooting (my knowledge of comes down to I have a sneaking suspicion about how do to reboot a router so I apologize for the apparent inability), I was able to get through Cisco Connect and launch a new wireless - our network name network thus changing NiceTiger for the original name of the router, then the use of CC - FancyPenguin. I was (and am) able to type the IP address in the bar of my browser, connect, change settings and all that good stuff, but I can't always connect to the Internet. It shows on my network card that I am connected to the router (on my laptop), but it shows that the router cannot connect to the Internet. I tried turning it off modem, turn off the router, thing 2 minutes and nothing worked. The wireless router is connected to the PC out in the living room, and now does not work even on the Internet for this.

I don't know yet where to start on how to solve it. I tried the fact to unplug cables and waiting. I tried fiddling with the settings, but nothing helped. Honestly, I don't know yet what DNS or none of this means. But I am at a loss to know what to do.

To resolve this issue is extremely important. I have an online class that I take at the College and without Internet, I can not completed by missions. My grandmother needs pay its bills and my mother runs its business online, so if someone could help, I would be very grateful.

Thank you very much. If you need details or card or anything, just ask and I'll do my best to help you. As I said earlier, however, I'm a total noob and absolute when it comes to this sort of thing.

Thank you and have a nice day!

    Ok.

    1. try to disconnect the ethernet cable from the modem to the PC, unplug the power supply and the battery pack inside the modem for about 30 seconds or more.

    2. always disconnect power to the router until you are finished with step 3.

    3. connect the batteries of the modem and power and wait for it to start. Once that is complete, connect the ethernet cable to the Port on the router 'Internet '.

  • Several router question

I have been using my router 4 ports of WRT546s. The ports are used to hard wire the different parts of my house (House was wired). Everything works fine. I need to have more than one internet access wired into my office. So I tried to plug my 4 port BEFSR41 router. I can't make it work. I know that the wiring is done correctly, I suppose that there are changes in my settings, but don't know where to start. I passed my warranty period on my two routers, I'm free looking for advice before I spend $30 to Linksys hotline.

I use a dynamic IP address automatic and get broadband through Comcast. Thank you.

Instead of using a second router, the best thing to use in this case is a switch, such as the SD205 SD208 or SD216.  The switch requires no configuration.  Simply connect to your router, and it works.

To save money, your BEFSR41 can be converted to a switch.  To do this, follow these steps:

    (1) put your entire network.

    (2) unplug the BEFSR41 everything, except a single computer that is connected to a LAN of the BEFSR41 port.

    (3) turn on the BEFSR41 and the computer.  If the computer has a wireless card, turn off the power.

    (4) connect to the BEFSR41 and change the following default settings:

    (a) change "local IP address" 192.168.1.2 (which implies that your WRT54GS uses 192.168.1.1, and you use not 192.168.1.2 elsewhere in your network.)

    (b) change the 'DHCP server' to 'disabled '.

    (c) click the 'Save Settings' button and then wait for the screen refresh (3 to 60 seconds).  You will be probably disconnected from the BEFSR41.  Don't worry about this.

    (5) power down your network

    (6) wire of any LAN port on the WRT54GS at any port LAN on the BEFSR41.  Do not connect anything to the Internet on the BEFSR41 port.

    (7) all the other wired LAN ports on both routers behave as if they were built in the WRT54G.

  • Static routing question

I just took a WRT610N and configure a few static routes for my network.

I have the router connected to a cable modem WAN and the interface of local network connected to my LAN via 192.168.0.1.

I have three other LAN subnets in a test environment, they are:-

    172.16.0.0/24

    172.16.100.0/24

    172.16.200.0/24

I tried to add the following to the first subnet:

Destination = 172.16.0.0 LAN IP address

    Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0

    Gateway = 172.16.0.1

    Interface = LAN

No matter what I try, I get a message saying route static invalid, and I can't get anything to stick.  Everyone can't see what I'm doing wrong?

    Thank you guys!

    Gary

The IP address of the gateway in a static route is the IP address of the connected device directly on each side of the router, either on the ethernet LAN or WAN side.

In particular you cannot route a subnet of an IP address of the gateway inside the target IP subnet. The static route example you deposited directions where to send traffic destined to 172.16.0.0/255.255.255.0. It is impossible to set the address of the gateway as 172.16.0.1 because the router doesn't know where to send the traffic to 172.16.0.1.

In other words, the IP address of the gateway must in most cases be a 192.168.0. * IP address that you use these IP addresses in the local network of the WRT. The IP address of the gateway should be the IP address of the router on the subnet specific target within your local network.

For example, if your second router with address 172.16.0.1/255.255.255.0 IP LAN has an IP 192.168.0.2, then the 192.168.0.2 is the IP address of the gateway for the static route to 172.16.0.0/255.255.255.0.

Can someone tell me what is a good and cheap wireless router I can buy so I can connect to Xbox 360 live.

Yes it will work with both devices, and your choice is correct. If you want a cheaper one that you can purchase a WRT54G.

  • Newbie BB development question

Hello eveyone. I hope this is the right place to post this question, but I'm looking for advice. I'm new to the development for BB, but since 3 days I did a lot of reading. The only problem with this is that the more I read more confused I get. I have developed solutions ASP.NET, but never anything like that for mobile devices.

Here are my thoughts on what I would do:

-Create a Web page for the BB, which goes to a SQL Server, accessing a view and extracts the data in a data Repeater or a gridview for viewing.

I have an IIS server running locally and can be viewed on BlackBerry now. I've set up and you can check out. WML and. Pages HTML to it very well.

My question is this. I read about this plug-in for Visual Studio 2008. I downloaded and installed successfully.

I do not know the following:

-Can I do what I would do without BES?

-What would be the best way to go about this? A few suggestions on what would be the best way to approach this project.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob

So I can just use Visual Studio.net 2008 and create a sample page. I use the PlugIn which can be downloaded or can I just without programming?

From what you say, you just need Notepad, vim, emacs, any other to design a Web page. The fact that You ' l browse this page with a Blackberry or an iPhone or a Samsung is on top of that.

    psu99 wrote:

And what you say to me that I didn't need BES... my point of view on what it was only used for PUSH applications.

You use a BES is required if the Web server is not reachable from outside your corporate network. In this case, you need BES just for its web proxy that will allow your browser to reach a machine inside the LAN. BES can also be used for automatic authentication issues based on the PIN code of your device and/or X.509 private keys that can be installed by the IT company.

  • Cisco SGE2010P routing question

I currently have a Cisco SGE2010P that I use as my default gateway for everything on my network. I have a static route that points our VoIP traffic on a dedicated line, and that works very well. I recently added a second route that points to another router with a metric of 200. Now, my hope was that if the main road with a metric of 1 was not the next road would be. In my tests, this does not happen. Am I missing something? Now if I put the metric higher as the default route, then phones register and everything works fine. Any thoughts?

Hi Sean, when packets match several static routes, the gateway sends the packet to the route with the lowest metric.
