  The problem has been resolved.

  I talked to the camera store expert who advised me to bypass the software and work through my computer / Scanners & cameras / L16.

  The wizard performed camera download in seconds!

  It sems that the Nikon software is not compatible with Windows XP.

  I try to upload my pictures via Nikon transfer software but get message ' Nikon Transfer Application works not... windows is looking for solution. I have used this app for 2 years, but now it will not work. I uninstalled Nikon Transfer and View NX and reinstalled directly from the site Web of Nikon but still message. I work with Vista.

  This happens usually if the downloaded file is corrupt. Visit the Web of Nikon and try to re - download the software and install it.
   
  If you installed the software earlier and try to reinstall it again, then try the following steps.
  1. download the tool windows install cleanup utility and install it.

  2. Click Start, click programs principally made, and then click Windows Install Cleanup Utility to launch.

• Nikon transfer program was working properly, now, the program closes as soon as I start the transfer

  A couple of days, this Nikon transfer program work properly.   I work as a photographer and use just imaging of Nikon editing software - Capture NX2. It has stopped working - means I can't work. I've been back anf by the Nikon support. They say now it's a MS problem - here is their last response.

  All CNX2 accidents on your machine state MSVCR80.dll as the failed module. MSVCR80.dll is a "Microsoft C runtime library, version incompatibilities and other errors in the C run-time library commonly cause failure of application on Microsoft systems.".

  This means nothing to me! Anyone has any suggestions please? I would be really grateful - I have three shoots later this week and have not the slightest idea how I'll finish them. Using 64-bit Vista.

• Camera not in Task Manager

  My camera connects OK and I am able to download my photos. However when I go to disconnect safely, my camera does not appear in the Manager tasks as he has always in the past. I have no other choice than to disconnect the camera, and fortunately, it doesn't seem to affect the pictures on my camera.

• Recovery of lost photos crushed

  I cut and pasted pictures of my Nikon DSLR to a picture file using windows exporer.  These are called in numerical order.  (DSC_121, etc.)  The next day, I cut and pasted a new batch of photos to this folder and for some reason, the camera numbered these photos with some of the same figures, so that my original DSC_121 file has been replaced by a new DSC_121 file.  So I lost a group of images.  I don't have a screen asking permission to replace.  Is that what I can do to recover lost photos?  I run Windows 7.

• DSLRs not visible in the Photo (Lightroom & EOS Utility) applications

  Digital SLR cameras are not visible in Lightroom/tethered capture or EOS Utility, but at the same time the memory card in the camera is accessible through Windows Explorer. The same happens at least with Canon EOS 600 and Nikon D800. Both cameras are supported by applications and Windows 7 are without problems. Both applications are Windows 8 compatible, it is the only feature that I found works is not in Windows 8, so far. It seems that Windows Explorer keeps the camera (or memory card) as long as his private property and are not let other applications to use.

  From your problem description, I understand that you want to know why the digital SLR cameras are not visible in Lightroom/tethered capture. Please let me know if you do not experience this problem.

  There is no information on the Canon EOS 600 but the Nikon d 800 is compatible. I suggest you to check the Web site of the manufacturer for updates for the camera. If no update is present, I suggest you to contact CANON or NIKON Support.

• How to open 12-bit RAW files

  I have Adobe Master Collection CS6.

  After a recent trip photography I accidentally downloaded raw images from my Nikon D600 to a computer that had an old 32 bit version of Nikon View NX2.  All met at the RAW 12-bit lossless compressed instead of 14 bit RAW lossless compressed format.  Photoshop will not open one of these files.

  I contacted Nikon support first (twice), but they could not / do not offer any suggestions on how I might be able to open these files for postprocessing.  You have any suggestions that could help me?
