No. 255 G2 HP WLAN functionality

Hello

I have a HP 255 G2 portable with the number of product F0Z56EA PC, running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

I installed the operating system and the drivers for the laptop a few days ago. Everything works fine, except that the WLAN option is not available everywhere and I can't connect to my wifi laptop.

When I open the Device Manager, it says "other devices" with a question mark and below 'Network controller' with a yellow exclamation point.

I tried to install the driver of network of Qualcomm for my model, but during the installation, the message "Unable to find the device, installation is complete" is displayed. I searched the site of HP, but impossible to find a working solution.

Please, help :))

MIA

Well, I just solved my problem. This is the driver that I needed: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&softwareitem=ob-128686-1

It is not a problem to use the WLAN option on the unit without internal WLAN card. You can also use the little USB WLAN stick. It is very small and easy to configure. Before you buy something to pick up the info from your local dealer.

  • Satellite L50 - A - 16 H - "metered" WLan to help to win 8

    Hello.

I would like to ask for help on this problem I have. 1.5 months ago.
I bought the Toshiba Satellite L50 - A - 16 H, everything worked perfectly except sometimes the wireless internet.

I could live with that, but since a week now, I can not access the internet at all.
I can connect to a wireless network, but it still says "limited connection" (or "m" in my language, I don't know how it is in English).

I tried it at home or at school, my internet was not working in these two places.

I use windows 8 and I've updated my nVidia Driver right before that this problem started to occur.

    Greetings WhoCarrot
PS Sorry for my bad English.

    > I use windows 8 and I've updated my nVidia Driver right before that this problem started to occur.

I put t see a link between the nVidia display driver and Wlan functionality so I n t think that this update might affect the WLan.

Fact is that this Satellite supports an Intel WB222 (802.11 agn + BT) wireless network card.
I recommend you update the WLan driver first.

In addition, the Windows 8 was replaced by Win 8.1 and the free upgrade to win 8.1 is available in the Microsoft store. I recommend you to update the Win Win 8.1 8
Install and update all the drivers for the Toshiba UE driver page and retest the WLan.

  • Satellite 1900-101 - what module WLAN do I need for it?

    Hello

There is a button for wireless on the keyboard!
Can what type of module I build striking WLAN? Or is it not possible to have WIFI with this laptop?

    Thank you

    Hello

I agree with Feliks. Satellite 1900 is an oldie and so it can t be upgraded with an internal wireless card LAN.

Therefore buy a PCMCIA card with WLAN function or a WLAN USB key. On my old laptop I use a stick of the AVM and it works properly. :)

  • HP 255 G1 PC Notebook: Restoration of the USB

    Hello

My laptop HP 255 G1 was not functional in the 2 weeks or so now. At first I thought it was a virus, so I got down to a computer repair shop in the hope they would rub my system and get rid of the virus. I know now that it is not a virus but a mistake with windows 10. My laptop is a windows computer 8 originally, but I then upgraded to windows 10. I have no access to the computer at all. I turn it on, the hp loading screen comes up and then a blue screen stating the "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" code, I've now learned is a problem to do with flashes of 10 on the screen windows before restarting continuously. I saw a youtube tutorial saying a message saying 'Prepare auto repair' should appear and then a second message saying 'Diagnose your PC' should appear followed by a screen that allows you to click on advanced options. Only the first message appears to me, and then it is followed by a black screen with no end.

What I really want to know is if I can somehow create a recovery usb without having access to my computer. I am currently on my other computer laptop windows 7 but I can't download anything from here. If there is a link on that I can go or anything, I should know, then please comment just down below. Thank you very much

That error is likely to most associated with a hard drive failed, only to any generic problem of Win10.

If you can, follow these instructions to test the hard drive: test a hard drive in the BIOS. HP® customer support

Related to a USB recovery, HP provides support of recovery for some PC and in some cases, will offer a USB key instead of the usual DVD game - but you'll have to contact HP customer care to see if it is available for your specific model of PC.

  • Portege Z830-10F - WLAN stops working when USB3.0 port is in use

    Hello

On my Portege Z830-10F wireless stops working when I plug in a device on the USB 3 port. The wireless connection back upwards as soon as I remove the device.

The problem occurs with any device I plug. I tested with disks external usb (usb 2 and usb 3), USB, a receiver wireless mouse and a printer/scanner.

This problem only occurs when something is connected to the USB 3 port. The USB 2 ports on the rear do not have the problem.

Port USB 3 itself works very well.

    Running windows 8 pro:
    * Wireless lan adapter: Qualcomm Atheros AR9200WB-1NG (version 10.0.0.75 driver)
    * USB port 3: Renesas USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 0096 (version 6.2.9200.16420 driver)

I see that I ve got the latest drivers installed on the wireless LAN card and the usb host controller 3.

The problem arises as well on windows 7 and windows 8 pro. I used the wizard to upgrade Toshiba upgrade of windows 7 to windows 8.

This problem is present since I got this laptop. I ve already done a reinstall / recovery back to the original with windows configuration 7 but this doesn´t solve the problem.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Is there a way to fix this?

    Thank you!

    Hello

To be honest, it's the first time I read on this issue.
I have no idea how a device attached to the USB 3.0 port could affect the Wlan functionality.

I assume its hardware fault and cela must be verified by a certified maker Toshiba.

What laptop you have and you have the latest driver WLAN? You can download it here:

In addition, I recommend turning off some options that affect the WLAN functionality (device-online card Manager WLAN-online properties => energy saving) saving.

    Hello

Most of the laptops card wireless network supports the B/G WLan 802.11 standards.
In my opinion, you should buy a router WLan which is compatible with standards and would support the 802. 11 B and G

I think that you could take your laptop to the dealer and could test the WLan functionality also.
It was most often a WLan router that supports 802. 11 B/G should be ok.

    Hello

Have you checked if the address Mac filtering settings can affect the WLan functionality?
If the MAC address filtering enabled your WLan card mac address has been inserted, then your laptop wouldn't connect.

Also I recommend you check the settings of the WLan card TCP/IP.
In the TCP/IP properties, you must set options for automatically

  • Portégé R600 (PPR61E) - How to disable WLAN in BIOS?

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Portege R600, PPR61E with BIOS version 1.50 model number. I want to be able to disable the Wi - Fi in BIOS. This should be possible because the option is available on page 2 of the Bios under "PCI LAN" screen. It is grayed out, however. I tried turning on and off of various options to try to get it to appear and the wireless switch is also enabled. It certainly has a laptop wireless card because I can see the networks wireless in windows.

I also downloaded the latest version of the BIOS on the Toshiba site, version 1.80, but it does not work. It comes up with the error message is not compatible with this model of PC. I selected the correct model of the machine and logged in with an account that has local administrator rights and took the update of the machine.

Does anyone else have this problem? Help would be appreciated.

    See you soon,.

    Martin Milner

The WiFi network can be disabled in the BIOS!
If you wish, you can disable the wireless network adapter in Device Manager, but not in the BIOS.
Plus you have a Wlan switch on the side of notebooks there you can enable and disable the WLan functionality!

  • Satellite C660-1J2 - about speed of Wlan

    Hello
    I have a Satellite C660 1J2
    Win7 Pro 64 bit 8Meg Ram
    Driver Realtek rtl8188ce 19 wifi / 420/1005-2011-20/04/2011

My setup is a router linksys wrt54gs + wre54g amplifier and the toshiba uses wifi, through the amplifier when I start the tosh every day, the connection is always big 5 bars, but speed is always moving between 18 to 36.

The amplifier is 3 feet distance and in line of sight. If I push the disconnect and re connect speed to 54 and rest until I have shut the tosh at night.

I got a sony vaio before and not issue however the wifi card was only the b - g card.

Is it a no number or you think has something to do with the ariel is a reason for updating the driver in the latest version on the website of Realtek 28/1005-1006-2011?

If you think an update is guaranteed can you confirm it is correct for my tosh and it says auto install, what I have to do something to install or

    can you suggest anything else.

It seems as if the tosh cannot see the amplifier and when I do a disconnection and reconnection, he can see the amplifier.

    Thanks for any help

    Tony Miller

    > Is it a no number or you think has something to do with the ariel is a reason for updating the driver in the latest version on the website of Realtek 28/1005-1006-2011?

I recommend you update the WLan driver if new version is available.
It is possible that the compatibility between different routers and modems would improve with new version

However, I also recommend to check the power of Win 7 options and disable WLan Card to save energy.
This power save can save the battery, but affect the WLan functionality.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - cannot use Intel ProSet WLan tool with Win XP

Hello! I have the same problem. I installed a XP SP3 and I can't use the * Fn + F8 * hotkey to activate the WLAN function on or off. Other Fn keys work correctly. The WiFi network also works, but it can be used by the built-in Windows. Intel ProSet or Atheros programs do not work. It seems "no wlan driver installed. The card is a Realtek 8187 B, downloaded the driver on Toshiba support original site. What can I do?

    > WLan also works, but it can be used by the built-in Windows. Intel ProSet or Atheros programs do not work
If the WiFi works fine using the windows zero configuration then the WLan adapter is enabled and don t get the FN + F8.

The fact is that your 3rd party WLan configuration tool doesn t work because your wireless network card is * Realtek! *

Intel ProSet ONLY works with Intel WLan card and the Atheros Wlan configuration tool can be used ONLY if your have an Atheros Wlan card.

You have Realtek so use windows own zero configuration WLan!

  • Satellite L350D-213 - how to use the WLAN?

My mother & father has bought a laptop last week and are having problems with the connection to the sky broadband. Sky Broadband is a netgear router, which has wireless capability.

My question is how does broadband on your laptop? They need to get a wireless dongle to use, my experience with laptops is minimal.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

I think you should read the user manual. There you can find all the necessary information using the laptop.

To use the WLAN functionality, you must enable this feature using the WLAN hardware switch on the laptop and the FN + F8 key combination. Check it!

If the WIFI is enabled, check the configuration of TCP/IP. It s according to your router if you use DHCP or a static IP address.
In addition you must disable management feature in the management of WLAN power supply.

I did a clean install of Win7 ultimate 64 on my Toshiba Satellite L500 - 1 6 and the wireless card is recognized in Device Manager, but I can't find wifi networks or start an ad-hoc.

Its saying that it is a realtek PCIe FE family thing. It makes me maaad.

I have installed as 5 drivers for it and everything, is a definitive solution?

    Hello

The laptop supports Realtek RTL8191SE WLan card 802.11bgn.
I'm not sure if you have used the correct driver, but if not you can download it here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

Please configure the BIOS to the default settings and save the changes to Windows 7 check if the firewall settings n t affect the WLan functionality
