No access to the store or change PC settings

Hi Microsoft supports,

My laptop (Lenovo Y500 - without SSD) comes with pre-installed Windows 8.0 and I managed to reset my computer to factory settings twice with no problems until now.

Recently, I bought a new SSD Samsung 840 250 GB that I put in an ultrabay slot (removed the dvd player and connected my SSD drive instead). I used the Samsung migration software to clone my hard drive and to migrate all my data to the SSD. After you configure the boot sequence starting with SSD, everything went well and the windows started from the SSD instead of hard drive. The current situation is that there are the exactly the same data on my SSD and HDD.

That is the problem. I can't access the Windows store or change PC settings article I wanted to reinstall (reset my computer to factory settings using the new SSD for my OS Win 8.) Once properly reinstalled, I would delete all the data on my HARD drive. I'm afraid to delete all my data, including Windows 8, on the HARD drive so that I wouldn't lose my Windows capable of re-installation 8.

When I try to access change PC settings or store to Win, nothing happens and it brings me to the homescreen instead of navigate here. There is no error notification or anything. After clicking on the button change PC settings, I can see the screen for a few seconds, and then it jumps to the home screen. Here is a screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/kRKYZxjk57ES

If this may have something to do with Windows 8 security settings that prevent me from cloning my OS and move on to someone else?

As soon as I put back boot from my HARD drive and let it boot, I can get to the Bank and the settings. As far as I know, I can't choose a car that I would like to put my Windows 8 during its installation (reset to factory settings), so I can't start an installation when booted from the hard disk. Or am I missing something? Is it possible to do?

I scoured the forums and the Internet for the last few days and I could not find a solution to my problem, that's why, I'd appreciate it if you could help me with this question.

Thank you very much.

    Hi Mitchell,

This problem may occur because of file system corrupted or because of the conflict between certain third-party applications.

You did any hardware or software changes on the computer before this problem?

    Method 1:
I suggest you run the SFC (System File Checker) and check if it helps.

    a. open Windows Explorer.
    b. press Windows + X key , and then click command prompt (Admin).
    c. type the command: sfc/scannow , and then press enter.
    d. restart the computer and check.

    Method 2:

If the problem persists, I suggest you to check whether or not you are facing the same problem in Mode without failure. If the problem does not occur in Mode without failure, you can configure the computer to boot and check if it helps.

    Step 1:
I suggest to return the item and start the computer in Mode safe. Check if it helps.

Start settings for Windows (including safe mode)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-8/Windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode

    Step 2:
If the problem does not occur in Mode safe run clean boot and check.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

  • Windows 8 "Windows Update" absent from the list of 'change PC settings.

When I first upgraded to Win 7 to Win 8, there was a "Windows Update" entry as last element in "PC settings" when I used the charm of parameters.

    It is more listed.

If I search for Windows Update and click on the tile which is, he spends "PC settings" page but display a "Page not found" error message.

No idea how to solve this problem?

This is the second time it happened to me, the first, I thought that I could of got a virus or something. So I did a refresh and the problem was solved. But I remember correctly install a program the first time (I don't remember the name), and then links to certain parameters were missing.
I know I probably have réactualisiez, because there is no viable solution available at this time. But refreshing should NOT be the solution. Because from what I see, it is not limited to a single program. So it means that the issue could occur for a variety of program installs. It is devastating and it is one will not install anything for fear of the question happening.

I also hesitate to install new programs, as the refreshment of the PC 'solution' is no solution at all and I am less enthusiastic to spend all my time to 'fix' things when they worked perfectly well on Windows 7.

Once again, I think that MS has a major problem here and surprised that it did not fall in beta as most of the things I do on my PC is quite conventional.

I will continue to follow this thread to see if there is any progress or enter additional to help isolate the problem.

I discovered that patches of restoration of windows the problem, better than the discount. But not yet the real difficulty that is needed.

I use a full update preloaded Windows 8 pro 64-bit on a touch of carbon lenovo x 1
with full access to all my account settings.

I get only showed a limited number of app in the store. for example, only 3 in the category economy and two in the health and training, etc.?
By changing the language in the Control Panel, for example English of the United States, can I have access to many applications, but so can I change the language in my Outlook calendar, for example, also
How to display all the apps in the store without changing the language in the control panel?

You would replace your location in the control panel settings to access the applications not available in your area... If your current region has a limited choice of applications, these applications are simply not available for this region (defined by the developer/publisher

Remember that you can only make App purchases for the region as your method of payment/preferences(located in your Microsoft Account billing), then change your local area on your PC, you will be able to install free applications

  • EA4500, network drive doesn't work without access to the secure folder

The map I try the USB hard drive connected to my EA4500 router as a network drive in Windows 7 and it works perfectly until I have enable access to files on the router.

After enabling file access secure and do not change other settings of the router I first disassemble the drive because it has been implemented without credentials and does that any more.  When I try to remap the drive I use the same address, but select 'Connect using different credentials' when he invites me to the log in info I try to use the router administrator account, but it fails to connect.   Diagnostics Windows network tells me that the device has refused the connection.  I have to create an account on the router in the settings of folder with the same username and password that I use on my computer and tried to connect it without checking 'Connect using different credentials' (and them by manually typing if it matters) with the same results.

Even with secure file access enabled, I can still reach the reader very well by typing 'ftp://192.168.1.1/' in the file Explorer.  It prompts me for a username and password, I put in the administrator credentials, and I'm in.  The account, I created with the same name of user and password that my computer works this way.

After you turn off access to the secure folder as everything is working perfectly again...  I'd rather do it with him, however.

    Follow these instructions: http://homekb.cisco.com/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=25813

When you click the Browse button, that the router shows up when access to secure files is disabled, but not after it is activated.  I've looked through my sharing settings windows and haven't noticed something that should cause problems, about that everything is allowed.  I also tried disabling my firewall without success.

    Well, that was weird...

I have reset the router, was able to operate with secure file sharing is enabled, but only, I could get a device connected to the player.  I went in the USB storage on the router settings and started to get a bunch of error 2123 and 2118 s to the point that I was not yet able to change the settings.  On the USB, I noticed a file named "." ftp_share.nfo"what is strange because it seemed sure whether a file instead of a folder in previous tests.  I deleted the folder and all the errors disappeared, had haunted all my settings for the drive into the router, and now it works perfectly...

  • iTunes crashes when you go to the store

Hi, this could well be the last chance. I had this problem since the installation of the latest version of Itunes. I can update my apps ok, but as soon as I try to access the store for music, etc it hangs. There is no error number and ends by saying that windows is serching for a solution consisting in intsaller I have already. In my view, support Itunes gave me now. I tried: complete the removal and reinstallation of Itunes, sending reports of diagnosis, directed to a web page of MS, via communities to support itunes, which gives a fixit who has helped many others, I tried procmon that gives some cases iTunes has not allowed and I guess maybe to investigate on no longer. The thing is that it comes so then close access to the store and I have actually connected to the store once during al this but came out and went back in and it crashes.
So can someone out there help me please.

  • Change PC settings won't pull up. Infunctional search bar

Hello, I had some problems with my computer, running Windows 8, and two of the big problems I'm having are:

    (1) when I search something in the search bar (consulted by going up to the right and shoot to the top of 'Search'), nothing comes back, no matter what I put... nothing.

    (2) the function of changing PC settings does not work, I click it and nothing stops. It is quite frustrating and I had this problem for some time, I reset my computer, but I have no way of. Today, I tried the upgrade of Windows 10, I booked a place on my computer when the option was available, and I was hoping I could do to give a fresh start to my computer. But it needs a code, so since I can't get the slot, I booked, I have to stay on windows 8. So is there any fix for my button change PC settings to work? Or any other way to completely wipe my PC of all?

    Thank you in advance,

  • I run 10 64-bit Windows and I have used iTunes for years. iTunes installs OK, I disable Norton Firewall during installation. iTunes starts OK, but when I try to access the store down ¾ of the page turns black

I run 10 64-bit Windows and I have used iTunes for years. iTunes installs OK, I disable Norton Firewall during installation. iTunes starts OK, but when I try to access the store down ¾ of the page turns black, the upper band has Taylor Swift and a few small icons to the bottom of the page. If I type Perry Como, in the search box, the page does not change.

lysdexic01, I know almost exactly what you describe on my screen of iTunes Store recently updated for Windows 7 64-bit. Only difference is that the icons in the black box are invisible until I move the mouse above them, their location by trial and error. Once activated, the icon remains visible. Each found icon flickers at first, but stops flashing if I pass the mouse over it.

I think that the store is now functional and useless for those of us experiencing this problem. Other users have reported that their iTunes store screen flickers since they updated iTunes to the latest version, but most did not mention the area big black screen that you and I see.

So far, Apple seems not to believe that there is a problem with the software to update iTunes. It is therefore important that users continue to report these problems to Apple that there are enough complaints for attention even during a week of office party.

  • Where Win7 stores the Windows Virtual PC > XP Mode > XPMUser "My Documents" to access if the virtual XP becomes inaccessible?

Lost all files in XP mode is "My Docs" XPMUser because I can't connect? Same situation. Where Win7 stores the Windows Virtual PC > XP Mode > XPMUser "My Documents" to access if the virtual XP instance become inaccessible? Like many here, I have activated integration and where then asked for a password on the next reboot of the XP Mode. The password that I usually use has not been accepted. I tried all the possible solutions (have "integration" disabled, start with virtual XP safe mode), but not able to change my password XPmode so don't chance NO connection.  I have brand new instance of XP Mode works, but obviously does not have access to the CASE of XP Mode instance. My question is simple: where are the files that I created and saved in the default location of the first modes XP XPMUser "My Documents" in Windows 7? I tried Win7 for XP 'My documents' files by names or names of game but no luck.  Help, please.

It is located in the file XP Mode VHD (Virtual Hard Drive), you can look as pretty as a ZIP file that contains a structure of entire disk rather than just a few files.  This VHD file is usually stored in your user folder in a folder of Virtual Machines, for example mine was in the C:\Users\SKeene\Virtual Machines.

And it's my cheesy guilty pleasure wishes to inform you that you can browse this file as if it were a hard drive, without having to start the XP mode.  However, security applies: If your 'My documents' has been limited, it might be difficult to access (even if you pouvez be able to take possession of the file and gain access).
    Here's how:
    1. Open the Start Menu, right-click on computer and select manage. In the maintenance window of the computer that opens, choose "disk management".
    2. On the right side, click "More action" and then click "Attach VHD" and select your XP Mode VHD file.  You might consider making a backup of the file copy of the hard drive virtual before do you it, just in case!
    3. Once you have connected the virtual hard drive, an Autorun dialog box may appear.  If this is not the case, simply click on Start/computer to see your new 'Local disk '.
At least, I can confirm that it worked perfectly for me, and I had access to my account "User XPMode" alongwith without problem.
  • Windows 8 - not able to access 'Change PC settings'; Unable to create a user profile. Store/Start menu does not work.

    Hello

Recently, I'm stuck with these issues:

    1. not able to access 'Change PC settings' - when I click on it nothing happens.

2 start menu/Store does not work - I am using the profile of the user admin Start Menu is a blank blue screen with just the user name appears at the top right. Store is completely scratched too.

While the guest user has all the tiles in Start menu/store.

    3. cannot create a user profile - I wanted to try to create a new user profile and check if the store is working properly. When I click on 'Add a new user in the laptop settings' nothing happens.

I tried the system restore, but it does not solve all of the above. Is there any solution to these problems without having to reinstall Win 8? I don't have the installation discs.

    TIA!

You can use the restore or refresh options without going in the settings of the PC.  Read the instructions carefully, it says:

If you can't identify, or use laptop settings app, you can access these rather safe mode options. On the login screen, click on the power icon, and then hold down the SHIFT key on the keyboard while you click on restart. Now keep update until the next screen appears.

How can I change the store without payment?

How can I return my app purchases after change store?

    Thank you for helping

    1. you can not. It is a security measure to prevent people to arbitrarily change the country.

    2. open a session in the iTunes App Store with the same Apple ID, go to the application page and choose to buy it. you realize that you have purchased the app and will not charge you again. This does not apply to music and video purchases.
