  If I had problems with my desktop computer and for some reason, I decided to downgrade to Vista, XP.  The installation went fine, everything went smoothly, now are all that seems to require some drivers.  I have a laptop which I use to make this post, any help would be great, maybe instead of links let me know what I need to do before I'm going to play with all sensitive bits.  I'm decently well with computers, I want to just make sure I get the right drivers and installed correctly.  I thank everyone and everything in advance to tide me over.

  I recently had to reinstall my laptop Satellite 1620CDS with Windows 2000 Pro, but I can't locate the multimedia Audio device driver! and as such I have no sound.

  Any advice on how I could find this driver, would be much appreciated...

  Just FYI: your laptop has Crystal 4281 audio card. I hope you find the driver on the page given by the previous user. It is in the list.

  Try the following.

  Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp52501-53000/sp52562.exe

  One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

  When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

  When the reinstallation of Chipset is finished, stop the laptop.

  Disconnect the power adapter.  Press and hold both the power button / stop and pulse for 15 seconds, then release.

  Plug the power adapter.

  Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

  Let Windows load fully, then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When this has completed, restart the laptop.

  Dany u 2000 tv usb does not appear on the Windows Compatibility Center and so I think that it is not compatible with Windows 8.

  Install my windows 10 recently crashed. The restore point was inable roll back and I had to reset the PC. Once the reinstallation is complete, I have no sound. Device Manager says:

  Hi, I m trying to convert a simple text in .txt format of an audio file with the action automator´s "audio file of the text. It works fine but I´d like to improve results by adding silence between paragrafs and sections in the text. Does anyone know if y at - it an option or instance that inserts silences in the text that could be recognized by the Text2Audio action?

  I had this same problem come when I installed Windows 98 on my protégé. During the installation of the operating system that you will get a yellow question mark in Device Manager when you install the modem before applying the audio driver "Reg-Files. For Windows 98, I had double click on Aliid98.reg in the folder for the audio driver on the CD T & D to add information about the modem driver. For Windows XP and Windows 2000, I think that you need to double click on Aliid.reg in the folder for the audio driver on the T & D CD to add the information to the modem driver.   Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I have read your thread on your laptop HP 2000 and don't read does not correctly when it is attached to the TV. Only, you should be able to have the HDMI cable from the computer to your TV and try to touch the key FN and F4 for transferring the image of the computer to the TV while the HDMI cable is connected. Here's a document on solving audio problems with external speakers, headphone and HDMI audio devices.

  Hi all.

  I'm having a small problem with a reinstall of windows 2000 on my portege p4000. Everything seems to work fine except for the wireless. All drivers are in and there is nothing in Device Manager is listed as unmanned, the wireless client shows the connection to my router, but ipconfig shows that there is no link at all.

  If I installed drivers and utilities in the wrong order? I would use my recovery CD, but they are damaged.

  Is anyone know the correct order to install drivers or where I can get this information?

  as a first step, it would be good to know what operating system are you using?

  Then I found two possibilities to solve the problem:
  1, when you use XP and updated to SP2, you will need an updated driver

  yacxg.sys 6.13.10.2000 to 6.13.10.2150 with the software synthesizer

  yacxgc.sys 6.13.10.3000 to 6.13.10.3150 without software synthesizer

  2, IF you use W98, you will also need an updated driver version.

  For Windows98SE: Updated YAMAHA AC - XG Sound Ver.5.12.01.2125 driver and apply Windows98SE QFE Q242937.

  It is possible only after the installation of the MS Updates that the audio driver is blocked by a load of your system and no sound can be heard.
