No Audio through speakers or headphones

Of course, I'm not the only one having this problem but I hope someone can help me. My computer went through a standard update, nothing out of the ordinary, and all of a sudden my audio does not work. I restarted my computer and it works for a few minutes and then it stops. Ten minutes later, it works again and then cuts out and so on, so on.

Product number: C8F10AV

Model number: 15 t-e000

I have Windows 8, 64-bit operating system.

I followed direct HP support website to resolve the problem and he told me to turn the volume up... so any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi michelle123,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using the forum, it's a great place to find answers. You have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that after you have installed an update, you have lost the audio.  If you restart it comes back for a few moments and then you lose again. Ten minutes later, it works again, but stops again. It continues in this way.

Here is a link to Sound speakers (Windows 8) number to help you.

If you start in safe mode you have this problem?  If this isn't the case, then there is a conflict somewhere using the Microsoft System Configuration (Windows 8).  Instead of select 1 point at the same time, I suggest you try 50-50 to expedite the process and to locate the problem more quickly.

If this is not resolved you can do a restore back to before installing the update.  Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)

You can also try a Refresh Your PC to solve problems (Windows 8).

If the problem persists, I suggest you do a recovery in factory. Performing a recovery of HP (Windows 8) system.

During this process, you will receive a prompt to back up your personal files, if you do not have one yet, I suggest you do one now to avoid any loss of data.

Restore files that have been supported to the top using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 8)

Alternatively, you can contact HP support for assistance. They have the possibility of remote access to your system, to help locate and solve problems.

Please let me know if you need assistance,

I recently took possession of old Windows 7 Dell Inspiron N5040 my brother who runs the audio driver IDT HD Audio, the problem is that even when headphones are plugged in, the computer still plays sound on the speakers, I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver, update the driver software and I still cannot fix. Hello
    Hello

I recently bought a new headphones for the game but had some problems with it and the sound system. A major problem is when I have someone call on Skype, the Skype sound or the call will go through the headphones, but on the other audio from the speakers. I also agree that also what iTunes does not work when I am in a call as well. Some examples would be that if I want to watch a YouTube video during a call, noise would come by the speakers and not the headphones. However, I found a solution for this. All I had to do was turn off the main speakers and the audio was transmitted to the headphones. Another example would be that if I want to run the games through Steam (Garry Mod, TF2, ect.), I get no sound in the game. Not through my speakers or headphones. With one exception, volume of Garry Mod, I can hear through the speakers so that in a Skype call, but I want the sound to come through the headphones. But with TF2, I have no sound whatsoever. If you need more information about me, feel free to ask. Thank you.

I read your post on how some programs make sounds through the speakers not the headphones and I'd be happy to help you in this case!

To make sure that your headphones are used when it is connected to your laptop, I advise you to follow the steps below:

    1. click on the Start button

    2. click on Control Panel

    3. click hardware and sound (the icons of sort by 'category' Control Panel) and then click on its

    4. under reading, you should see one or two speaker icons. One of them should have a green check mark next to it (which is the main speakers to your laptop). If the second speaker icon is not visible, right-click in the list of devices and select Show disabled devices

    5. a second disabled icon "speakers" should appear. Right click on this icon, then click Activate

    6. Select the device speaker newly enabled, right click and select "set as default device".

    7. click on apply.

  • No audio through speakers unless...

I have a HP Pavillion dv6 notebook A6 AMD. I have no sound at all through the built-in speakers unless I plugged headphones. I can even put headphones into the microphone jack and I get audio again.

I've included a picture of my devices and you can see that they are all in order, but still no sound. If I mess with the slider in the volume for the headphones of communication, I get audio, but only for a second. I don't know how to solve this problem. I have re-installed all my drivers, messed with my settings and the resolution of the problems found nothing.

    How can I fix it?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft Communities forum

From the description of the problem, you are not able to play sounds through loudspeakers. I'll be happy to help you on this question.

Sound problems can be caused by cables that are not connected properly, damaged drivers, incompatible drivers, sound settings, missing updates and problems with your sound card.

You can remove the helmet of the laptop and set the speakers from the default device and check if it receive the sound.

You can follow the steps below

    Step 1

Exercise the functions mentioned below to set the speakers as default:
    1. Click Start and click on Control Panel.
    2. click on sound, then a new window will open.
    3. in the new window click on the "Playback" tab and right-click in the window and click on Show disabled devices.
    4. now check if speakers are listed and then right-click on it and choose activate.
    5. turn highlighted that speakers and click "set as default".

    Step 2

Check with the volume settings and if it helps:

    (a) right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar, then select volume control options.
    (b) check on "all devices evolving sound.
    (c) make sure that you have "Default uncontrolled communication device".
    (d) place a check on the speakers and headphones.

You can contact the manufacturer for drivers for your sound. See the link below

  • Re: Satellite A200 PSAF6A - his plays through speakers using headphones

When I plug my headphones into the port, nothing happens, still plays through the speakers.
Is it drivers or something, because I want it redownload.
    I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 PSAF6A.

    Hello

This seems to be an Australian series for Toshiba laptop.
    You can find it here:
    http://www.ISD.Toshiba.com.au

You will find the audio driver and the most recent BIOS.

But I recommend to check the sound settings first.
I guess that's a Realtek audio chip in the Realtek audio Manager panel you could supply some parameters that control the headphones and speakers.

Tab of reading on the right you will find the headset by clicking right into this and check the options that are available.

If the audio test successful in diags - beeps / musical chime heard - the material is very well

Hello Rishi. Welcome to the Audio card to the laptop and thank you for your help with this thread.

The ePSA test no test not all audio material and if the test is best used to determine that the speakers work or do not have been disconnected.

For example if audio is coming through the headphone but not through the speakers, a technician may use the test to determine whether or not the speakers have failed. If the speakers pass the test, and the technician believes the test means that the hardware is fine, he or she ignores the most likely cause of the problem which is a failure of the impedance probe in the jack - a hardware failure.

  • I have a problem with the sound to be heard through speakers and headphones.

Original title: Ok, this is really annoying - need help (Audio)

OK, so I have a motherboard Asrock z77 Pro 3 that supports the audio 7.1.
But I have a stereo speaker 2.1 only. So I plugged in any case and began to use - the bizzare thing, is when I connect headphones through the headphone jack on the front, the sound is produced by headphones and speakers. I need to stop this.

Is it OK to connect a 2.1 to 7.1 channel speakers? (by any channel 1 output).

    Realtek drivers installed.

When you are using speakers stereo use decision-making (lime green) front speaker.

Many cable front have two different connectors to connect to the motherboard.
A (HD Audio if I remember correctly) allows to disable the outputs back when you connect the headphones to the output on the front panel.

When you use the right connector you should see the option switch when you
connect or disconnect the headset if you have Panel-Sound-open reading.
Speakers should be 'default' when the headphones are not connected and when the reverse
    You then connect.

    Any advice appreciated

    Hello again Nervuz,

    Thanks for the quick response!

Based on the information you have provided, I recommend to uninstall and reinstall the audio driver for your desktop. To do this, please follow this document on follow-up with the IDT High Definition Audio Driverdownload and software uninstaller (Windows 8). If this does not work and you hear again audio to both the speakers and earphones, please follow the next step.

The next step is to run a diagnostics using Automated Troubleshooting (Windows 8)program. This should help with the audio in question.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

    Concerning

  • NO Audio from speakers only through headphones

I have no sound at all.  Audio is good if I use headphones, but no sound from speakers.  I just turned on... utility troubleshooting used, found nothing.  Any ideas?

I hate when that happens and it happened to me so much I now have a shortcut on my desktop, so I can go directly to the "SOUND". The long way in VISTA > Click =... > start > Control Panel > hardware and audio > Sound > speakers.

If not do something else. > Start and type device dev Manager, it is usually listed at the top of the list > it and > continue when the window user account appears near the bottom, you will see the audio, video and game controllers. Don't forget to get there because there are a few things get you out of here and look for sound after ezch so that you know that is for next time.

    Right >

    (1) > check for changes

    (2) > uninstall and restart

3-> update Driver > search automatically update driver software

4-> update Driver > Browse my computer for driver software > let me pick from a list when it goes to the next window, it will usually be a selection, go through them and see which works and make a note of it for future Referances.
