No audio through speakers unless...

I have a HP Pavillion dv6 notebook A6 AMD. I have no sound at all through the built-in speakers unless I plugged headphones. I can even put headphones into the microphone jack and I get audio again.

I've included a picture of my devices and you can see that they are all in order, but still no sound. If I mess with the slider in the volume for the headphones of communication, I get audio, but only for a second. I don't know how to solve this problem. I have re-installed all my drivers, messed with my settings and the resolution of the problems found nothing.

How can I fix it?

Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft Communities forum

From the description of the problem, you are not able to play sounds through loudspeakers. I'll be happy to help you on this question.

Sound problems can be caused by cables that are not connected properly, damaged drivers, incompatible drivers, sound settings, missing updates and problems with your sound card.

You can remove the helmet of the laptop and set the speakers from the default device and check if it receive the sound.

You can follow the steps below

Step 1

Exercise the functions mentioned below to set the speakers as default:
1. Click Start and click on Control Panel.
2. click on sound, then a new window will open.
3. in the new window click on the "Playback" tab and right-click in the window and click on Show disabled devices.
4. now check if speakers are listed and then right-click on it and choose activate.
5. turn highlighted that speakers and click "set as default".

Step 2

Check with the volume settings and if it helps:

(a) right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar, then select volume control options.
(b) check on "all devices evolving sound.
(c) make sure that you have "Default uncontrolled communication device".
(d) place a check on the speakers and headphones.

You can contact the manufacturer for drivers for your sound. See the link below

I hate when that happens and it happened to me so much I now have a shortcut on my desktop, so I can go directly to the "SOUND". The long way in VISTA > Click =... > start > Control Panel > hardware and audio > Sound > speakers.

If not do something else. > Start and type device dev Manager, it is usually listed at the top of the list > it and > continue when the window user account appears near the bottom, you will see the audio, video and game controllers. Don't forget to get there because there are a few things get you out of here and look for sound after ezch so that you know that is for next time.

  • Windows 7 Audio problem IDT plays through speakers and headphones

I recently took possession of old Windows 7 Dell Inspiron N5040 my brother who runs the audio driver IDT HD Audio, the problem is that even when headphones are plugged in, the computer still plays sound on the speakers, I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver, update the driver software and I still cannot fix. I thought that maybe the problem could be fixed with sound in the Control Panel, however, I can't find the device labeled "Headphones", only two devices listed are "Speakers/headphones" and "helmet of Communications." How can I do so that the system only plays sound through speakers when the headphone is not plugged and only plays the sound through the headphones when they are?

  • Whenever I start a call all the sound through speakers instead of headphones...

Unless I go to Tools>Options>Audio Settings>speakers>Communications helmet I will be able to hear Skype with ordinary headphones only. Unfortunately, all other sounds such as games and Youtube videos are through speakers.

My laptop is a HP Pavilion dm4 3055dx, I bought last year so it is still in good condition.

I tried to change the Settings Audio>speakers>speakers and headphones , but that has not worked. This problem occurs yesterday after Skype update.

Furthermore, I checked my laptop for updates, and everything is updated. I uninstalled and reinstalled Skype. The problem still occurs.

I made a mistake. Laughing out loud

Here's how I found the solution:

I right click on the audio icon in the taskbar next to my time. I went to "Playback devices" then I saw 'Speakers and headphones' and 'helmet of Communication '. I clicked on 'Speakers and headphones' then I clicked "Set as default". I left it like this:

  • HP Envy 700-414: no sound through speakers

You just bought a 700-414 want to replace my 8 year PC.  My TV is used to monitor system and speaker.  For audio, the PC and the TV are connected using a 3.5 mm stereo cable.  The cable is plugged on the "audio out" on the back of the PC and to the "audio in" at the back of the TV.  Everything is properly connected... but no audio signal passes through the TV.  But if I unplug the cable and plug headphones, I get audio.  Here's the other weird part.  My TV and an old PC were connected using the same cable in the same way and worked great.  So I reconnected it the old PC to the TV just to be sure, it wasn't the cable.  When I open an audio file it worked normally, it's just like before.

Thus, the cable does not work on the new PC, but the headphones don't.  However, the fact cable work on the old PC.  If the cable works on the old PC, then I suppose I must exclude the cable as the problem.  That seems to suggest that the problem is related to the new PC.  But then why I would get audio through the headphones, but not the speakers.  I went through the troubleshooting audio standard and all settings are fine.  I have run and rerun the audio test and he said everything is normal. This baffled me.  I am hoping there is a simple solution.  Thoughts? Suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi again Rivalkyrie,

    Thanks for the quick response!

According to the integrated video graphics specifications for your computer, the integrated graphics subsystem will automatically deactivate if the graphics card is installed. Given that the motherboard supports a connection of generation PCI bus 2.0 and the necessary 300W for the new graphics card, I recommend install the NVIDIA software first and then the installation of the graphics card. This should help your system to recognize and install the new hardware.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

  • Windows XP blue screens or freezes during playback of music through speakers

Every time I play audio through my speakers, the computer will start to hang and then eventually freeze for a few seconds, if it is not out of it, it ends up blue screening, but if I play the music through my headphones is very well and never crashes... could it be caused by a hard to die?

I discovered the problem, used a bad audio driver. Turns out I had one for windows 7 and not xp, went to the manufacturer's Web site and found the right driver. Thanks anyway!

  • Dell Inspiron 1420 none audio internal speakers.

    Good day, everyone.

I have Inspiron 1420 Vista 32 of my brother as a gift. He had before and said he had sound from the moment he bought, but later (he doesn't remember when) the sound just disappeared. I reinstalled the system to the factory settings (press F8 and then restored from the recovery D: drive). No audio through loudspeakers. However, I can hear everything if I connect my headphone via jacks-audio connectors. I reinstalled the drivers for the "drivers and utilities" DVD. Same result. I downloaded the two drivers from the download page of Dell (R157031 and R167846) and tried one by one. Same thing. I ran diagnostic test (F12 >... > system > Custom > Audio Analog test and can hear the sound on the speakers.) I tried to remove the driver, and then restart the computer, so Vista can catch the new material and solve the problem, but after that the new hardware has been detected, Windows driver installed, the result is the same. I checked if the speakers are cut and they were not. I checked the control panel > sounds and saw 2 options on the digital playback, and speakers/headphones (with a green check mark) output device. Tried all the options, but still can't hear anything through speakers, but can through the headphones.

Guys, before I will let fall and broke it laptop, help. Please, I beg you. I'm sure the solution is close, just need advice.

    Jimco

I don't know about 1420. The 1520 has a taken audio daughterboard here, Reference Dell: RT882.

It says Vostro 1500, which is the same as the Inspiron 1520. There is a phone number you can call (1-800-357-3355) to see if it is also for the 1420.

    Good day Jimco,.

I am very happy and proud of me, because I did.  I did it. I did it.

I fixed the sound. Yesterday, I spent almost an hour talking with Dell customer service, technical department and * knows who else and I got I need to replace my motherboard ($299). I couldn't find any info on the site of Dell Inspiron 1420 Audio Jack Daughterboard as you have shown to me, so I decided to see him personally.

Today, I disassembled my laptop complete with MANUAL DELL for INSPIRON 1420. NOTE from the ADMIN: Broken link has been removed / replaced this post by Dell > after I pulled out the mother board, I could find (YES!) Audio Jack daughter Board. I started to chat with Dell and spent an hour trying to explain to them, this girl for Inspiron card exists and that I hold in my hand... I showed them your link... I wanted to just buy the card Audio Jack daughter at home, but they have checked my service tag, asked me if I have waranty, where have I bought this laptop... So, accordingly, I have no help from Dell.

After that I gave up on them, I put up any piece of aluminum foil, touch my problematic jack and then assemble everything back. And VOILA! Everything is fine. I have a sound input of the internal speaker, I have a jack for headphones, a disabled jack and a microphone jack. TADA!

Thanks Jim, for your attention and support.  I am really grateful for your help.

    Thanks again. And good luck.

  • How can I get audio through my tv while watching a video with media Center

so I attached the cord VGA from PC on TV and I get the photo and videos perfect buti only get audio from my laptop. How can I get audio through my TV?

If it is a VGA connector, which normally has a blue with 15 pins/holes while the connection method has no audio embedded in the head. You will need to use a separate audio connection.

Most TVs have a 3.5 small mm, sometimes with a green ring, to power the audio on the TV when you use this entry. If so, you need to connect the headphones taken computer to the TV with a 3.5 mm 3.5 mm cord.

Only some DVI and HDMI ports incorporate audio and even then it depends on the specific material to do so.
