No Internet when IPv6 is enabled

Protocol IPv6 and Windows 7 - is there a problem?

I just installed Windows 7 on three computers already running VISTA.  I now have cable problems and found internet access wireless.  When I disable the IPv6 protocol, I have internet that runs on those computers.  Computers on my home network running XP have had no problems whatsoever.  I use a Motorola surfboard cable modem and Netgear WRN3500 gigabit router.  Is there a problem with the Protocol IPv6 in Windows 7; I ran it on VISTA without any problems.

Hi jhsteck,

Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forum.

I guess the question is to do with your IP (Internet Protocol) rather than IPV6 for IPV6 Protocol is the compatibility with Windows 7.

Here are the steps I would suggest for that matter.
Activate IPV6 back.
Release and renew IP. This should help.
To release and renew your IP address:

1. Select start > run

2. type cmd and click OK.

2 type ipconfig enough and press ENTER.

3. When prompted, type ipconfig / renew, and then press ENTER.

4 type Exit and press ENTER to close the window.

Check if this helps to get the Internet connection.

For more information about IPV6, see

  • Impossible to connect to the internet when ICS is enabled

    Hello

I'm having a problem with internet connection sharing.  I have my xbox 360 connected to my pc with a crossover cable.  I enable ICS so that it can connect to xbox live, it does without any problem.  However, when I try to browse the internet on my pc, I am unable to connect what whatsoever.  However, network and sharing Center says that I'm connected to the internet.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

See the following articles with connection instructions: http://www.devhardware.com/forums/networking-34/guide-xbox-360-and-windows-vista-through-ics-167398.html.  Note that it specifically says NOT to use a crossover cable.  Maybe that's your problem.

    I hope this helps.

  • no ICMP when ipv6

I used the ASDM to configure a Cisco 5515, but when I tried to activate the ICMP protocol, he told me that I was not allowed when IPv6 is enabled on the interface.  IPv6 is not enabled on the interface, and when I did the CLI rule, he took without problem.

Anyone seen elsewhere and know why the ASDM would mistake like that?

Nope, never seen that before.  Definitely a bug in the version of the software that you run.  I would recommend upgrading to a "gold star" version of the code.

    For a 5515 is currently ASA 9.4 (2) 11 (asa942-11-smp - k8.bin), and a modern ASDM to match as 7.6 (1).

  • TCP/IPv6 and homegroups - TCP/IPv6 is enabled, but homegroup says that it is not.

I have three computers with Windows 7 Home Premium installed recently and works well. I want to create a homegroup. When I try to join one of the computers to an existing homegroup, I get the message "your network must have IPv6 enabled connection". I have tried the stop and restart, TCP/IPv6, but I can't the homegroup to work. I cut off all firewalls. How can I verify that TCP/IPv6 works, and how I can fix this problem if it is not.

The homegroup on two other computers worked without any problems. All are connected by ethernet cable to a Verizon FiOs router. The computer problem has no other problem of connectivity - internet and e-mail work correctly. I also see the computer of 'bad' on the map of the network on the part of others.

    Hi SandyGrim,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site.

one) that you get an error message?  If Yes, what is the exact error message?

I would like to explain that IPv6 has been dependent on the NPRI (redundant network routing protocol) service. To resolve this problem, we will see the following steps.

    Step 1:

Temporarily disable the firewall and third-party antivirus on the computer for a test.

    Step 2:

Check the relevant services are enabled.

    1. click on "Start", type "services.msc" (without the quotes) in the search bar and press ENTER.

    2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    3. right click the "Peer Networking Grouping" service and choose Properties.

    4. Please check if the service is started; If this isn't the case, please click on the Start button and see if it works.

    5. you can also choose automatic next to startup type.

    6. click on OK.

    7. repeat the above steps with another service: PNRP Machine Name Publication Service.

    Step 3:

Modify the key to register IPv6 to enable IPV6

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 322756

    1. Click Start, type regedit in the search bar and then click regedit in the list programs.

    2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\TCPIP6\Parameters

    4. check if the "DisabledComponents" registry key exists. If so, move on the next steps.

    5. double-click "DisabledComponents" registry key and change the value to 0.

(If the key does not exist, please create the above key and assign the value 0)

    6. exit the registry editor and then restart the computer.

  • WMP 12 allow Internet access cannot be enabled - a bug?

I had problems with two of my computers, both running Windows 7 Professional edition. Windows Media Player 12 has an option to stream multimedia content on the internet, an option called "allow access to Media home...". "I successfully connected two computers to a Windows Live ID, indicated such account.

The problem occurs when I try to activate the option "allow access to home media." Normally, you should select this option and (assuming that you have already linked to a Live ID account), then you would get a UAC prompt, and then a confirmation that internet access is now enabled. Now, instead, there are not one, but two prompts UAC and the option is never activated. Very frustrating. The two guests come from wmpconfig.exe with the option - RMESharingOn. These two don't apparently but without error message. Is this a bug or maybe something is blocking the action? All other options continuously can be activated.

One last thing to note: I had this problem for awhile on a desktop build that took the professional edition installed since the beginning. My laptop was originally the home edition of Windows 7 Premium and never had this problem. I have clean recently installed up to professional, and the problem also exists on it. It is perhaps related to the professional edition?

Thanks in advance for your help,
    Tyler

Well, I just figured out my problem.  Previously, I had put the "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service" to disabled in order to reduce overhead costs because I wasn't using it.  All I had to do was turn it back on, and voila, streaming Internet can now be activated.

    So:

    • Start-> type 'services.msc'-> enter
    • Scroll down and find "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service.
    • Right click on it-> properties
    • Change the startup type to "automatic (Delayed).
    • Click on the button 'START' of the service
    • Click OK

After having done that, I now get the confirmation dialog box when you try to enable Internet Streaming in WMP.

It seems to me that this should be considered a bug lack-of-good-feedback.  WMP should check to see if the service is running when a user tries to activate Internet sharing and give an error message if it is not (or better yet, give the user the option to activate it without using services.msc).

WWhy I get a message saying that I am not connected to the Internet when you try to install IOS 9.3?

  • 9.3 IOS cannot be verified.  Says the Iphone 5 is not connected to the internet when it is.

My Iphone 5 will check the IOS 9.3 update.  The message says that the phone is not connected to the internet when I know that it is.  What is the problem?

There are widespread reports that older devices have problems with activation after the update. Your question is before the update.

This seems to be a different problem, but I suspect it's really Apple prevents you from installing the update, you already downloaded, until they solve the problem of activation with the update.

For those who connect via iTunes, you would see that you are already using the latest version, because this is now the latest version that you can download. Your phone has already downloaded, if Apple blocks you install.

Wait for the update of the update. I bet that you should remove the 9.3-same already downloaded install file to your storage management settings.

PHOTOS, Version 1.3 often gives me an error message "you are not connected to the internet" when I am clearly, via wifi.  This happens when I try to print a photo or to place pictures in a book.  (It also happens when I ask to export a photo on the desk, but then it is exported, despite the error message.) In the preferences of pictures, I chose "download the originals of this Mac", but the problem seems to be when the photo of the cloud recovery.  My operating system is up-to-date: 10.11.3.  My desktop Mac is mid-2010.  I take quite a few photos, and maybe download them to the cloud and then download them to my computer takes a long time.  That's the only explanation I can find.

You have activated the iCloud photo library and selected the option to optimize the photos in your local library?

If Yes, then the Photos is a download full version size for use in the book, print, or share via email, etc.

Someone has ideas of how solve this problem?

    Thank you!

I solved this by uninstalling Linksys Wireless Network Monitor.  I no longer disconnect from the internet when I turn off a device USB or Firewire (ipod, canon mx850 printer, external hard drive).  However, by using the Automatic Configuration of Windows isn't a perfect solution.  The downside is that I frequently 2-5 second freeze ups in World of Warcraft with WZC, especially in combat.  So my solution is to stop the automatic configuration service once I started and have an internet connection.  This is quite annoying!
