all solutions?

EDIT: I have a HP a6120n

Hello

Tap away at f10 you start the PC to enter the bios menu.  Check if the Onboard Sound has been disabled here as this can happen when installing a new graphics card - if it is disabled, use the arrow keys to select Onboard Audio, press ENTER, use the arrow keys to select enabled, press ENTER, press f10 to save the change, use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Kind regards

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I read your post and see that after you install the printer software, the computer has no sound. I want to help you.

Installation of the printer software, should not affect the audio drivers on the computer.

  • Dv4-1413tx - no sound after downgrade to xp vista frm

    Hello...

I recently bought a HP dv4-1413tx with vista home premium pre-installed on it. I tried it downgrade to Windows XP SP2. Managed to install XP on it but feels a hell of a time with drivers... Especially the audio. There is absolutely no sound. Not even the beeps.

I tried to install UAA audio bus driver first and then the driver of HDTV LSI etc. but still no sound. I spent several hours on this subject...

Peut - some kind soul please direct me on how to go about this case?

I remember that I was in a similar situation some two years back in an attempt to re - install Windows XP on another laptop from my friend. We install everything except the audio. Finally, the technician at the shop could install for us. Now I'm away from the place... So can not go and find out that the man how it install it. It was also a HP laptop only...

I would like to add that the mute button stays red and does not respond when you press.

There is nothing about Audio in Device Manager... Maybe that's the problem.

  • Thunderbird crashes after installation of vn 38.4. Solved. Cause - bad record?

(This question was published only because I could not respond to existing similar questions without registering first.)

Problem was apparently a Thunderbird randomly hanging after automatic update to 38.4 on Windows 7 Enterprise. The process of dropping out/no response took place a few minutes after start of TB, compose messages, send or download of IMAP mail.

Shortcut to the final solution - probably corrupted files or folders at the OS level.

For those who are conducting similar research I also watched the references linked below.

En route to the solution, various obfuscation were met, all of which were interesting but NONE OF THESE solved the problem of the suspension, namely:

-back to Thunderbird 38.1 extracted from Mozilla's FTP repository

-Disable all modules in SafeMode as suggested in posts below

-deactivation of reminders on calendar, pop ups and sounds like suggested in the posts below

-turn off sounds (in the systray) as suggested in posts below and new mail alerts

-Discover, finally, only one of the half-dozen or so synchronized account IMAPs has caused the problem, which is an account Exchange-synced via the excellent DavMail (Davmail upgrade to the latest version was another diversion)

-assuming that the compaction of TB was not his work and that he is too much vacuum/zombie files left lying around, leading to a redundant cleanup using Thunderfix (http://www.parhelia-tools.com/products/thunderfix/thunderfix.aspx), was nevertheless his cleaning of employment but not a solution

    What worked then...

The procedure of backup profiles recommended TB in Thunderfix and elsewhere led to discover that the copy of Windows has won at least one file during the copy. Suspecting lower level corruption, I ran chkdsk D: /f (since all data are on D: and not on C: with the operating system). No major problems found aprt of 4 files analyzed once again.

I resorted to the use of SynckbackSE to do the backup instead, noting that one of the failures was Junk.msf. That and the knowledge that the account linked to Exchange was the likely to be the culprit, I restarted and deleted everything in IMAPmail\localhost\ (DavMail connects via localhost stored files).

Restart Thunderbird (always on 38.1) and connect via DavMail pulled back all messages and folders from the source Exchange to resynchronize records localhost TB successfully. No need to use backup or same setting of TB.

Will probably now improve return to 38.1 after a period of stability.

After years of use of Thunderbird of the dowry of the year, it's nice to know that it was not primarily at fault.

Although the Control Panel indicates the TV speaker is the audio device by default, when you connect, no sound no fate through when I use the sound test or I play any MP4 file.

    Thx a lot

    Hello

First, I would try to update the audio driver.
Usually the audio page of the European driver Toshiba driver should work to find, but the most recent driver is downloadable always on the chip manufacturer page
The sound chip is Realtek to try the driver for the HD directly from pages Realtek audio Manager.

You must uninstall it before you install the new audio driver, one installed
After installation, do not forget that the digital output was chosen as default device
In Control Panel-> sound-> reading tab, you can do this

I improved my Tecra M7 to Vista (and then upgraded to Vista SP1) but the computer is no longer plays sounds (no music, no sound system - nothing)

I installed the latest Realtek HD driver, I have the latest version of the Bios.

Device Manager indicates that everything is working. "Speaker" icon tells me that his work (the green bar follows the beat of the music)

The volume & button Mute works - I can't get the "speaker" modifying, turning to the top/bottom/inhibition icon. I tried the headphones in and out.

I checked the bios if the sound card has been disabled it - but it seems that there is no possibility to change the settings of the sound card in the bios.

Does anyone have an idea on what I'm doing wrong here?

I read on a sound problem after installation of Vista it happened if XP was preinstalled on your laptop and the mute box was accidentally activated.

    Hello

I had the same problem with sound after installing XP everything seemed fine but no sound!

    I found a solution;
You need to install the MS patches; KB835221 and KB888111
These hotfixes must be installed before installing driver sound!

But I put t know how it works with SP3. I think that you need to remove the SP3 first and then you could install the patches mentioned.

However, once the patches have been installed, you must follow with the Realtek HD audio driver installation. The latest driver should be placed also on the Realtek page too.

Well, in my case it worked so it should work on your laptop too!
