No sound on T61p after going to Windows 7

I installed Windows 7 RC build and lost all sound. I looked around, but it doesn't seem like there is still a driver out. Is this correct? I tried to install the latest driver (6.10.2.5510) in Vista compatibility mode, but that did not help either. When I test the device it shows the green bars so it think it works, but there is something wrong.

You need to install the drivers in the system interface and keyboard shortcuts

You can get them here: www.lenovo.com/windows7beta

I would also install the driver of the power manager and the program.

I have a T61p as a 200 x and his works on the two - after installing the drivers.

When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

When windows has reloaded, open your download folder, right click on IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When he finished, restart the computer again and let windows to load completely for a few minutes before checking it in.

  • Satellite Pro A10: No sound after upgrade to Windows XP Home SP2

    Hello

Just use the recovery disks on my Satellite Pro A10, no problem with the sound, and then upgraded to XP Home with SP2, no noise.

What I've read elsewhere, this is a problem and there seems to be an answer. I spent hours looking for drivers updated without success.

I have also contacted Toshiba support, after blow and blow that they reported the following driver, 5.12.01.3542, which is the same one that I have already installed and does not work.

Certainly there must be something out there that works.

Also, please try to use Recovery Manager to reinstall the IDT HD Audio Driver If the steps above do not work. How to use the Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document below.

  • No sound after upgrading to Windows 8 Windows 7 on HP G60 - 538-CA

On my laptop, I have no sound at all after the upgrade.

The audio driver is called "Conexant Pebble high definition SmartAudio.

I assume that the driver has not yet been updated, but is possible to make it work on my HP G60 - 538CA?

Here is the solution (from HP Forum on the issue)

This problem occurs for users of laptop G60 with 4 GB of RAM or more running Windows 8,

an operating system for which HP has no intention to release drivers for updates.

This method works to fix the right question:

Press Windows key + R > (Type) msconfig (press enter) > select the "Startup" tab > click on 'advanced options' >

Check the 'maximum memory' box (which will define the maximum amount of memory available) >

Click on apply and restart your notebook when you're ready.

or you can remove physically chips of memory RAM of your computer.

This configuration should solve the sound problem for computers G60 laptop running Windows 8.

Question: In the past months, my sound will go off randomly automatically.  If I close the lid and let the computer in to sleep mode or if I restart the computer, the sound comes back.  When the sound disappeared, the volume buttons on the keyboard, so to work with a lag and the mute on the keyboard does not work.  Try to use the sound test, or even navigate the tabs in the Properties section of speaker to accuse also considerably by the sound does not work.

I noticed other things: I was watching a youtube video when the sound came out, I left the chrome tab that I used for the video and the sound comes back a few seconds later.  He then disappeared a few seconds after I opened a new tab and returned to watch the video.  I had also the same thing happens with the help of a video editing software - quit the application, sound came back, returned to the software, sound went out after a few seconds.  I also had both sound back after going to the speaker properties - Advanced tab and switch format, by selecting the test button and clicking on OK when a message saying "the sound system is in use, taking the test can cause the application to fail" (or something similar).

I tried to use various utilities for troubleshooting when the problem occurs - the find and troubleshooting audio fix is no problem AND the device is listed as working properly in Device Manager.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest drivers for the IDT HD Audio CODEC several times - no help.  In addition, the problem has been resolved not when I converted briefly to Windows (back to windows 8.1) 10.  In addition, I tried to use the other pilot of "High definition Audio Device" in place and place of the IDT CODEC, but the same problem happened - sound turns off randomly until I rebooted or put my computer to sleep.

I'm pretty computer - savy but I can't seem to understand what the problem is.  It doesn't seem to be a hardware problem or the sound would probably not come back so quickly or clearly as it does...

One last piece of information: I noticed that the first time that I reinstalled the Windows audio 24/06/2015 - and also several updates were installed on the 23 & 24 June - watching these updates to see if they are the cause of the problem.

My father had a speaker bluetooth for Christmas - I tried it out on my computer because it works completely independently of my sound card and it was working fine.

I bought one of my own for $30 at target - Jam Classic Wireless Speaker - and now I have wonderful sound.

Does not resolve the issue of the root, but the problem is solved!

I'm just upset that HP gave me the such a card its crappy that it only lasted 1 1/2 years before give me questions, just long enough to ensure that the warranty expires...
