No sound on Windows XP except program beeps.

Two weeks ago, I have re-load the OS from disks and reformat the hard disk, because it seemed to me that it was fragmented. There has been no sound from CD, music or Internet. The OxC00d11ba error code appeared. The box of audio and audio device on the Control Panel indicates that there is no device. In Audio, audio playback, the default device is 0 # Modem line playback, but no MIDI playback device is listed.

your error code can be solved most of the time by reinstalling the audio drivers.

Go to the Dell support site and search for your PC. Download the necessary audio drivers and install them and then re - start. Like here:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WW1&catid=-1&dateid=-1&impid=-1&osl=EN&typeid=-1&formatid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=INSP_DSKTP_D530&hidos=WLH&hidlang=en&TabIndex=&scanSupported=True&scanConsent=False

You will need to determine which audio device you have.

Because you formatted you must also download and install the chipset and all other hardware drivers associated with your Setup, if you want all the features.

See you soon,.

  • Why programs not marked in the list of windows firewall exceptions are still able to maintain the internet connection?

    Original title: exceptions to firewall

Can someone explain how I have after uncheck the programs in the list of windows firewall exceptions, they are still able to maintain an internet connection? I use XP sp3.

    1. what makes you think that this unnamed programs are still able to maintain an Internet connection?

2 Windows Firewall blocks unsolicited incoming connections.  Thus, for example, if you (or malicious software), set up a FTP server running on your computer, Windows Firewall will block an application from the Internet on your computer that are trying to establish a connection and download some of your files.

However, when your web browser sends a request to a Web site server to load a page, incoming web server traffic is allowed because it's in response to a request made on your computer.

This distinction between the incoming and outgoing traffic is why some people insist that the third-party firewall, which usually block/monitor of traffic in both directions is required.  The scenario is that you inadvertently introduce malware on your computer (in any number of ways), and then the malware "phones home" to establish a link with the bad guys, who continue to do what they want on your computer.

  • Since I've updated my version of Skype, I have no sound in windows in anything except Skype?

Its speakers are fully functional during a test and the volume levels are all very well (no, they are not muted), I've updated all the drivers and the sound card is also intact. However, there is still no sound (no windows sounds, no sound in media player / internet, etc), except Skype. You have an idea why this might be?

    Hi NatashaBertaud,

    Method 1

    (a) click the Start button, select Control Panel, click hardware and soundand then click sound.

    (b) click on the read tab make sure that the correct default audio device is selected. (For most users, the default audio device is pregnant.)

    (c) if the default device is not set to the right audio device, on the read tab, select the appropriate device, click Properties, click the Advanced tab and make sure that the default Format is set to the value you expect. When you are finished, click OK.

    (d) on the read tab, select the playback device, click set upand make sure that the configurations are set correctly.

If the sound settings are set correctly and that your speakers are already set as default device, go to "Check if an audio driver is installed" now.

Well, punctuation, capitalization, and enablers would help make your readable phost!

Do you mean that you have no web sounds? If so, make sure "Play web pages" or similar is verified in any browser you use.
What did you win by dating the ATA drivers?
You must identify your audio driver and the update.
Go to the website of your computer manufacturer and obtain the correct drivers from there. If you PC, then go to the MB manufacturers website and get the drivers from there.
Code 31: you managed to corrupt your audio drivers. Do as above.

  • Reverse the scrolling of the mouse in the window of the program (Premiere Pro 2015.1)

Scrolling the mouse with a the cursor to the program window is a style of mounting very useful to me, especially with the hotkeys ripple trim. I can easily navigate to the preferred framework and make an edit

After that the update for Premiere Pro 2015.1 scrolling in the window of the program has been overturned - scroll down now juts read head. In the MEANTIME of scrolling in the editing window works as before.

Is there a chanse to reverse the scrolling in the program window back? I don't find any option in preferences (except chronology mouse scrolling, which is not the case, as I mentioned).

After that the update for Premiere Pro 2015.1 scrolling in the window of the program has been overturned - scroll down now juts read head.

That is right.  It's backward before, Adobe set.

  • The access permissions to the NTFS file in "C:\windows" and "C:\Program files" are not secure

    Hey there
Had a minor shock after I discovered that the access permissions default to the "limited users" in "C:\Windows\" and "C:\Program files\" are raised by the image automatically XP - Pro installed on my Tecra A6.

Default access permissions to the NTFS file in "C:\windows" and "C:\Program files" for "A limited number of users" should not have permissions "File/writing data Creation" or "Creation of folders/adding data. This opens up for what is called dll redirection attacks (ref: http://blogs.msdn.com/aaron_margosis/)

When you install a Win XP a normal retail or OEM Windows XP cd these two folders are special protected by this measure (not allowing the permissions listed for limited users). Installation procedure of your image work it around (in established Microsoft) measure and open breaches in security.

Now I have to drop all these permissions and hope that all of the utilities of your work for limited users after that that, otherwise you get a very unhappy customer on your hands. ;)

    Siggimund

    Hi Henrik

Thanks for the information. I have a common user of Toshiba and I have never heard of such attacks to redirect m .dll.
However, I think that if each user install antivirus software (nothing unusual at the time; everyone should use) and activate the Microsoft Windows updates and OS firewall should be safe.

    Greetings :D

PS: I read in this forum that sometimes some Toshiba applications as energy saving does not work under limited account.
